Parameter Prompt, additional line being displayed

When viewing report in Crystal Report XI, which was developed in earlier version of Crystal Report, an additional Parameter Prompt Text is displayed.  Then opening report in version of Crystal report developed in text is gone.
In Crystal Report XI Prompt Text is displayed as:
Enter desired Ending Cleared Date for report display:
Please enter date in format u201Cyyy-mm-ddu201D
In Crystal Report 8.t Prompt Text is displayed as:
Enter desired Ending Cleared Date for report display:
Where is this text coming from, and how can it be removed?

Because this is a date field, the report is looking for data formatted as:  MM-DD-YYYY
But the Prompt is:
Enter desired Ending Cleared Date for report display:
Please enter date in format u201Cyyyy-mm-ddu201D
This is really confusing our end users.  When they manually enter the data as the prompt is telling them (yyyy-mm-dd), they get a bad date error message.
Is there a way to make this extra line of prompt text match the date format needed by the report?

  • Parameter Prompt when print only

In the past we used the RDC to run reports within our application. When a user selects a report to run they have the option to preview or print it. No matter which option they chose the Crystal Parameter prompt screen would be displayed so they could enter the appropriate values. Then of course the report would run and either be printed directly to the printer (if chose print) or displayed in a viewer (if chose preview). We have recently switched to using CR2008. We have the preview working like before but not the print option. I'm thinking we are just missing something. If we choose print then the parameter prompt screen from crystal never shows and therefore the user is unable to enter values and report fails. How do you get crystal display the parameter prompt screen when not using a viewer?

There is no RDC in CR 2008 so I assume you are using VS 2008 and CR .NET Assemblies.
Look at these samples for more options:

Also, use the ReportClientDocument.Refresh before making changes to the report to clear reports with saved data and then it will prompt for parameters.

  • Additional fields for line item display for Vendor Accounts

    Hi,
The additional fields for line item display have been defined for the vendor accounts. I am able to see the additional fields in SAP 4.7 system but not in ECC 6.0.
Could you help me to know how the same will be displayed in ECC 6.0 system.
    Thanks

In SPRO, Vendor Accounts -> Line Items -> Display Line Items -> Define Additional fields for Line item display, the fields for Check number from (PAYR-CHECF) and Tax Jurisdiction (BSEG-TXJCD) have been defined.
When I am executing Vendor Line Item display (FBL1N), I am not able to select these fields for defining a layout. Could you please let me know, how I will get these fields in FBL1N.
    Thanks

  • Add additional items to line item display? (FBL1N, FBL5N)

    Hello everyone,
I'm trying to add some "custom fields" to Customer/Vendor line item display
which is only available in BSEG table. (new GL function)
I could not find any BAdI or something..
Is there any way to do this?
thank you in advance for any comments.

    Hi,
         Try with this Menu enhancements,
    FI_ITEMS_MENUE01                                          Menu Enhancement
    FI_ITEMS_MENUE02                                          Menu Enhancement
For the created Menu item, under that function code write the logic to get the additional data.

  • Define Additional Fields for Line Item Display

    Dear gurus,
I'd like to ask for your help again, please. I've just added the field BKPF-USNAM to the list of fields of FBL1N using IMG:" Financial Accounting-> Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable->Vendor Accounts->Line Items-> Display Line Items->Define Additional Fields for Line Item Display". When I run the report the field is correctly displayed but if I save the current layout and set it into the selection screen, the column appears is blank. And if I open the change layout window and click OK the column gets filled.
Is there another transaction that I must set new columns to FBL1N.
    Thank you very much.

    Hii,
When you will execute FBL1N, it will come up in standard format. if you want to see any specific fields, then you have to go to Change Layout button and choose from available fields as per your requirement and then execute.
For future reference, you can save this layout as a Variant and then you can directly execute that report using that variant.

  • Additional Field to line item display

    Hello Everyone
I want to add two additional field ( date of entry and entry time) to GL Line item display. Can any body please share.
Looking forward to hear from all of you.

First try to determine if there are any user exits (screen exits actually) or BADI's which can do this.
For finding the relevant user exits, determine the transaction code first and search on SDN for the report in which you enter the transaction code, and which will return all user exits for this transaction.
For BAdI's there is also a program to be found on SDN.
Next read the documentation of these user exits / BAdI's and you will be on your way.

  • Sub-reports displaying parameter prompt

I have a CR XI r2  application using the JRC that displays a list of reports and allows a user to select the desired report. I then programatically determine the paramaters needed and set the values required. This works fine except when I use a report containing a sub-report. Although I loop thru the report heirarchy including the sub report and set all the parameters it still prompts for the sub-report parameter in the viewer before displaying the report. I tried setting the enable prompting to false but that didn't help.

    Hi,
    It may help you.
Try to link the subreports with the main report Using Change Subreport Link.
And map the parameters to the main Report.
    Thanks,

  • Additional Field(customized) in G/L acct bal line item display FS10N-FBL3N

    Steps done:
1st: I appended an extra field(customized) to RFPOS and RFPOSX structures.
2nd: Went to FIBF and looked for BTE applicable and found sample_interface_00001650. (Line item display: Add data per line)
3rd. I copied sample_interface_00001650 with a name of zsample_interface_00001650 and added line of codes for selection to fill the extra field I added.
    4th. I assigned the event found in FIBF=>Environment=>P/S Modules=>of a SAP application.
5th. I executed RFPOSXEXTEND program in SE38. After running, RFPOSXEXT was updated but not RFPOSEXT.
I run FS10N and check for the field I added if existing. The extra field is existing however when I tried to move the field to the columns to be displayed in ALV, I got an error saying that there are inconsistencies in table T021S and RFPOSEXT.
    Please help. Thanks.
Is there a certain program needed to update RFPOSEXT just like RFPOSXEXTEND for RFPOSXEXT?

  • Withholding tax Amount not being displayed in the Invoice while posting a Parked Document

    Hi,
I have created a parked document for the Vendor who has the Witholding tax code w9 - 15% . I created Parked Document using FBV1 and then tried posting the same using FBV0.Somehow I am not getting the Withholding tax Amount in the FI Document created. However the W/Tax Base Amount and the W/ Base LC are being displayed correctly.
Say if the Line item Amount is 1,000$ then both the amounts mentioned above in the Additional tab "Withholding tax Data" are being displayed as 1,000 usd but the W/Tax Amount is 0,00 USD.
    2. Also We have the PI and the Interface is written to post the Parked document while the xml file. There is a Method Execute_Asynchronous which has two BDCs one  for FBV2 ( Change Parked Document ) followed by the Post Parked Document FBV0. Hence When I try to post the Parked Document using the SPROXY Interface which has two BDCs Viz FBV2 & FBV0 I still get the Invoice with the Same Amounts and at times with additional 2 zeros added to it in the Additionsal Tax Data Screen.
I am not sure what is the reason for this. Can anybody help  me sort out this Issue.
Can there be any Config issues. Please let me know what all config Settings we need to do to sort out this Issue.
Also let me know why the 2 Zeros are getting added to the Base Amount e.g if the Vendor Line item is 12,000 USD it shows as 12,00000.00 in the Withholding tax Data  Tab in the Invoice.
    Regards,
    Deepak.

    Dear Praveen,
please check into IMG if You defined the WT type You are using for Your Comapny code:
IMG --> Assign Withholding Tax Types to Company Codes
    I hope this helps.

  • Excel Output is being displayed as HTML in the browser

    Hi All,
I am using PeopleSoft XML Publisher 5.6.2 to generate an Excel report using RTF template. The report runs successfully.
However, when I click the Output file link in the View Log page of process scheduler, the file is being displayed as a HTML page, though the extension of the file is .xls.
Also when I try to save the file by using 'Save Taget as' option, the browser prompts me to save the file as 'mhtm' file and not 'xls' file.
The following is an extract from the output file.
    <html>
<!-- Generated by Oracle XML Publisher 5.6.2 -->
    <head>
    <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=UTF-8"/>
    <title>IM Top 10 Surplus &amp; Deficit Locations</title>
After doing some research on Internet, I found the following blog post(dated back in 2008) to describe my situation and a workaround to the problem.
    http://peoplesofttipster.com/2008/04/16/xls-xmlp-output-opening-in-browser-not-excel/
    http://peoplesofttipster.com/2008/04/18/xls-xmlp-output-opens-in-browser-workaround/
Workaround described in the above blog post is to update the charset to us-ascii replacing UTF-8. This seems to work. But with limited file processing capabilities of peoplecode, this workaround is not a simple solution.
I also verified the mime-type mapping in the web.xml file in the webserver. Please find below the .xls mime-type mapping in the web.xml file.
    <mime-mapping> <extension> xls </extension> <mime-type> application/vnd.ms-excel</mime-type></mime-mapping>
    Question:
1.How do I force the browser to open the excel output file using either Excel plugin or Excel Application instead of displaying it as HTML page?
2.If not the above, how can I force the system to promt the user to save the file as Excel file instead of mhtml?

  • Dynamic Parameter Prompting for Database Connection Password

    Post Author: rsharp
    CA Forum: Publishing
    Hi
I've been finding recently that reports using dynamic parameters and published into Crystal Server prompt for the database connection password when the dynamic parameter is accessed.  Thing is, this only started happening recently for new and already existing reports with dynamic parameters and I don't know why.  In Crystal Reports the dynamic parameter can be accessed without a database connection prompt being displayed but not after publishing.  (Maybe there's a problem with the Publishing Wizard?)  Static parameters work just fine just as they always have, but I'm a bit mystified by the fact that dynamic parameters used to work (without prompting) but now they don't.  Any advice or opinion would be much appreciated.

from the CMC you have to set the default connection or wat connection should this report use,
go to this report in CMC, click process tab, and check the connection

  • Click on calendar control in parameter prompt of viewer gets Jscript error

Within SAP supplied CrystalViewer.  VS2008 web app, XIR2 Crystal Server, 11.5.3700 or 11.5.3300 libraries.  Although not a forum favored combination of tools, everything seems to work except calendar control within parameter prompts.
IUSER_(machine name) or everyone has read and execute access for directory and subdirectories via IIS and Windows file system (suggestion from a more general problem post).
I am able to fill in the date parameter text box and all works well.  Calendar icon properly displays to right of text box but it is followed on subsequent lines by :
    Business Objects X
    i
    i
    within the individual parameter box.
Click on calendar icon to allow pick of date from calendar causes Jscript error.

    Hi Jonathon,
Thank you for your quick response.  Response to you questions follows.
    Q:Does it work anywhere?
A:It doesn't work on any date parameter when executed in VS project.  (It does work with Crystal Developer XIR2 client.)  I am only using the viewer - not designing report within project.  Given that, can you suggest a test for calendar control outside of parameters to answer this question?  Sorry for my ignorance.
Q:It is likely the combination of CR 2008 / XI R2 is not playing well, as you've indicated - they are not meant to. It could be missing runtime files causing issues. Is the CR 2008 runtime installed on the server as well, or only the XI R2 runtime?
A: We have VS2008 but not CR2008 which is what I think you meant.  With VS2008 installed on development workstation accessing remote XIR2 server objects, a web app running on workstation has problem with calendar.  I am out of my league, but I am thinking the execution of a calendar control for a parameter would not need to call any Crystal libary which might mess things up, but the call is coming from an 11.5.3700 viewer which may be making the wrong call for a VS2008 base library that handles calendar control.  But, I am hoping instead that the problem is that it cannot find something it needs or that it does not have proper access to that something (which has been the cause of all the other problems I have solved).

  • Problem with Line Item display of G/L account

    Hi,
I am struggling with a typical problem that I have two company codes in two different countries.  I have created a tax account with Open Item management and Line Item display in both the company codes.
When I am trying to post vendor invoices, taxes are being posted on line item wise in one company code but not doing so in other company code eventhough the attributes of the G/L account are same.
G/L accounts, tax condition types and account keys are same in both the cases.
Can any body give me an idea to fix the problem.
    thanks in advance,
    Mallik

    HI,
check the condition types you've defined for the both of the countries
    sprofin accting-f/a gl sett-tax on sales/pur -basic settings-check cal procd--define cond types
there is a check box named item condition see whether it is ticked for the another company's condn type.
because due to this only it takes the condn item wise.
    reward pts if it helps.
    Regards

  • Sub report parameter prompt appears when running Visual Studio 2008 with Crystal Reports 2008

    Post Author: relliott
    CA Forum: .NET
If I build a simple Crystal Report that contains another simple Crystal Sub Report, the report will print preview fine in Crystal 2008.  The problem happens when add this report to a Visual Studio 2008 Web Application Project and I build and debug the application, the Crystal Viewer is prompting the user for the parameter used to link the sub report to the main report.  This should never happen as the user is not supposed to see this parameter.  If I type in some value for this sub-report parameter prompt, the Crystal Report Viewer gives an error message about not finding the field.
I was having the same problem in Vs2005 with Crystal 10 which is why I upgraded.  Business Object's official fix for this problem was published under their KB article number c2018840 and c2019047.  These hot fixes ended up causing general exception errors in Visual Studio so I scrapped these solutions.
Support had me install SP0 for Crystal 2008 (which did not fix it).
    Any ideas?
    Any help is greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,

    Hi Bontrager,
Thank you for posting in MSDN forum.
According to your description, I agree with pvdg42's suggestion, so I suggest you can try pvdg42's suggestion to install the version of
Crystal Reports 10.5 to check this issue again.
    Reference:
    http://forums.asp.net/t/1236730.aspx?Which+CR+version+is+in+Visual+Studio+2008+
In addition, since this forum is
to discuss: Visual Studio WPF/SL Designer, Visual Studio Guidance Automation Toolkit, Developer Documentation and Help System, and Visual Studio Editor. So if you have any issue about the
Crystal Reports, I suggest you can ask the issue to the
    SAP Crystal Reports website:
    http://scn.sap.com/community/crystal-reports/content?filterID=contentstatus%5bpublished%5d~objecttype~objecttype%255bthread
as pvdg42 pervious suggestion, it will be better support.
    Thanks for your understanding.
