Parts of an audio slider

this is probably easier than i'm making it, but i'm not sure
what my code needs to be for the previous button. i'm thinking i'll
be able to use the next button script and just edit it a little. if
someone could please look at this script and let me know what it
needs to be that would be great (point me in the right direction).
the script for the next button should be noticeable. i've tried to
edit it to make it apply to the previous button, but i can't get
it. as i said in my other
post,
my actionscript knowledge is minimal.

alright, i think might understand the basic jist of what
you're saying. are you saying that the cps value needs to be -1 (to
go to the previous song?) and then i call the playSong () function?
i'm not sure i know exactly what to do here. why is the cps
originally -1? or isn't it? wait. it would go up by 1 every song
right? so that it knows what line of the xml doc. to read? so i
need it to read the previous line? how would i do that? i need to
somehow figure out what song it's on right? sorry, i'm so confused.

Missing audio slider in "window" record audio (fcpX10.0.6)

After updating to the new version the audio slider in menu "window, record audio" is not there.

this is what i mean: i miss the import decice gain slider:
somtimes by starting this window the slider jumps very quickly from the right to the left and remains there... A certain amount of level is still there so i can use it by loud speaking near to the mic...

Which version of 6? Check the slide quality, if it is at Low, push it to High or Optimized. Then uncheck all compression settings in Preferences, Project, SWF Size and Quality.

The "Audio Visualization 2D and 3D canvas " part of the audio api slide show is only showing the background part of the 3d image

There seams to be a problem with the Audio Data API slide show on the 10th page (Audio Visualization 2D and 3D <canvas> at http://videos.mozilla.org/serv/blizzard/audio-slideshow/#slide10). or maybe just on my computer. the problem is it only shows the background of the canvas. It still looks like its a moving image but it doesn't show the objects. So haw do i fix this?

Works for me with the current nightly build.
Do the other slides work?
Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of your add-ons is causing your problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).

Pavilion audio slider is not working correctly

I have a Pavilion dv7-3165dx notebook and my operating system is windows 7 64 , and recently the touch slider where you adjust the volume is not displaying on the screen when touched. its controlling the volume, but I wouldn't know that unless I go into the control panel and pull up the audio from there. any help is appreciated. Thank you

When the installation has completed, shutdown the notebook, unplug the AC Adapter, remove the battery, and then hold down the Power button for a full minute. Then re-insert the battery and plug in the AC Adapter and see if this helps the issue.

Zooming in/out while selecting parts of the audio file?

The company I am with use Cool Edit 2000 for our audio editing, in Cool Edit it allows you to click and drag to select parts of files while you are doing this you can use the mouse wheel to zoom in and out. This helps for when you need to zoom in at the beginning of the sound and drag to the beginning of the file to delete any unwanted sound or lack of sound, zooming out while doing this allows you to do it very quickly.
I have tried the trial version of Adobe Audition 3 and I was not able to do this.
My questions are:
1. Was this feature removed?
2. If not how do I enable this feature.
This feature will determine weather or not my company will purchase this software. Thanks for the time to answer my questions.

zooming isn't a problem its zooming out while dragging over the file to select it, basically what I am doing is zooming into the beginning or end of a file selecting the precise beginning or ending holding the left mouse button and dragging left or right while I am doing this I am zooming out to make it select what I need faster and deleting those areas away.
I just read about the top/tails view, I am going to check it out see if this helps.

Can't adjust audio slider when viewing video

I just got the January update a couple of days ago. When viewing movie I cannot change the audio level using the slider. I can still move the video forward/back slider and the pause/play button. Can someone help?

It now seems I'm having problems with any icon or control on the very leftmost side of the screen. It can several touches to get any thing to respond. Anyone heard of any defects like this?

Captivate 7 - HTML5 audio/slides not syncing

Hi,
I am trying to publish out to HTML5 (Captivate 7 with the patch on Windows 7). I have audio on each slide and if I just let it run straight through, it's fine. However, if I page forward the audio is not sync'd with the slide anymore. It looks like it take a little longer for the slide to catch up but the audio starts right away.
Also, if I go back and forth (I know this isn't right but I know learners are going to), sometimes I get audio from two slides playing at once.
Is this just an HTML5/audio issue or is this a Captivate issue?

I think I've found a workaround for this issue. I’m finding when audio is placed on each question slide in the pool, the audio on subsequent slides play. The audio on the question slides has to be different from audio used on non-question slides (but all the question slides can use the same audio). Also, the question slide audio can be a very short and silent piece of audio, so nothing is heard on the question slide itself.

Audio/Slide Timing Issue in Captivate 4

I have created the following:
A master file in Captivate 4.
Each slide in the master file contains an audio file and a .swf file (also published in Captivate 4).
The master file contains all highlight boxes and audio files.
I have four highlight boxes on a slide in the master file. The corresponding .swf file contains five slides.
Two of the highlight boxes must appear on the first slide of the external .swf.
The next highlight box must appear on the third slide of the external .swf.
The last highlight box must appear on the fourth slide of the external .swf.
When I preview the external .swf project (the five slides) from itself, everything works fine. The audio syncs properly when the highlight boxes appear and the slides change according to their own timing.
However, when I import the .swf into the master file, and run it from there, here is what happens:
The slides in the external .swf do not even all appear. The last one is nowhere to be found. The highlight boxes, of course, appear and disappear according to their properties. But the external slides will not cooperate.
So basically, what I have is audio synced up with the highlight boxes in the master file, but no way to coordinate the syncing of the slides in the external .swf with the audio and highlight boxes in the master file.
Can anyone help?

First thing to check is the frame rate of your master file and external files. They should match otherwise they will be playing at different speeds.
But quite frankly, even if the frame rates DO match, I think you're strategy of having Captivate SWFs playing inside another Captivate movie and expecting everything to sync up properly is doomed to frustration. SWFs inserted into a Captivate movie don't necessarily play as you would expect. The longer the duration of the SWF, the more chance it will be out of sync with the main project.
My honest suggestion is to build all of your slides in the one project. Insert SWFs only for small animations.

How do you cut out a part of an audio recording?

Lets say I recorded a guitar solo but the last note of it didn't sound to good. I want to cut this one little portion of the audio recording off. How would I do this? I've tried double clicking the audio strip, highlighting the part to cut, and pressing delete but sometimes it completely changes the position of the track in the sequencer. Please help me out. Thanks a lot!!!

Audio slides to either left or right for no reason

On my powerbook the audio setting slides a bit to the left or right for no apparent reason. I'll just be listening to itunes and all of a sudden the sound is coming out more left or right without warning or reason. I've locked my prefernces and it still happens. I write music as well using Ableton Live and it happens then too and that's a real pain in the butt. It all started at first when my friend installed his version of Tiger on my powerbook. Then I reinstalled my original os and everthing was fine. Then due to needing Tiger to run a new Synthesizer properly I had to buy my own copy of Tiger which I did from mac directly. And low and behold the same problems are back. As well my keyboard stopped lighting up when I first installed Tiger, then worked again when I installed the original, and back to crap with the new Tiger....

I also experience what might be the same problem.
For me, the balance slides all the way to either the right or left. I suspect it happens when I plug the computer into a new display or sound configuration. For example, the audio will work fine in my office with headphones, and then when I get home, plug into the projector and speakers, the audio will be all the way to the left.
Maybe there's some mystery keystroke shortcut we're doing by accident?
I'd very much appreciate help with this annoying problem.

So you may adjust height manually by specifying required size in web part properties or if you are not afraid of coding a bit you may use JavaScript to adjust size automatically:

Re-saving QT files defaults audio slider in any browser to lowest setting

Hey All,
I create h.264 video AAC audio .mov files in QTPRO 7.2 that play audio normally in IE and Firefox but when I need to re-save a file (to add metadata information) it will not play back with any audio. You have to click on the volume icon in the browser player to boost up the audio. Normally this is already defaulted to the highest setting.
I have noticed that any file re-saved has the same affect when played back in a browser but I have not seen any answered posts regarding this problem. Does anyone know if this has ever been addressed?

Thanks for looking into this. The good news is I have answered my own question. The bad news is the answer is "HAD TO WAIT FOR 7.3!!!!!"
Yes QuickTime has solved this bug with the newest version. Also if anyone has created QuickTime files in h.264 (using QuickTime 7.2) and needed to re-save for any reason, you can now re-save these files again in 7.3 and the browser player's audio level will default to the highest setting as it should.

Exporting from Keynote - audio/slides no longer in sync

Well after researching this, it seems there is no answer to my issue, but I thought I'd ask anyway.
I have set up a Keynote presentation using Smart Builds. I have four slides. Each slide has approximately 40 pics and one song. The timing of the pics is set to correctly end at the same time the music stops and move on to the next slide, with its pics and music. Everything is timed right in Keynote.
Now I want to burn to DVD. I export to QT. QT plays all the slides with pics and music. However, QT plays back the slides and pics at a faster rate and as a result the pics and music no longer line up.
I suppose I could go back to Keynote and make it "not line up" in there so that it will in QT. But that would be: 1- ridiculous and 2- a huge waste of time (as this would be a "trial and error" approach.
Any ideas or thoughts?
