Passing input to Terminal from app

Hi, i'm pretty new to Objective-C and I was wondering how one could open the Terminal and send it commands from a Foundation Tool or Cocoa App.
I did a bit of research and found some useful example code on stackoverflow.com:

Now, those lines of code only launch the tasks in the background and flush it's output to the Console. How could this be modified to actually open the terminal window and make it execute the command composed of the launch path and the arguments? (possibly leaving the Terminal window open after the end of the process)

In my case, that command opens the .sh with TextMate (and in the absence of that, with TextEdit). I could change this by setting the default opening app for my script file to Terminal.app, but would this setting remain for every machine? (the script being located in the project's debug folder)
Another issue is that system command forces an exit:
/Users/...path.../build/Debug/script.sh ; exit;
So in the Terminal, the requested stuff happens followed by a:
logout
[Process completed]
However it's a pretty good idea!
