Password encrypt - looking for the simplest way

I�m implementing a web application which needs to encrypt the user password and store it in a database... (the classic scenario).
what is the simplest way to encrypt the user password?
I need only the encryption method..

There are several ways: You do a secure hash of the password and store that. Then, when you want to verify the password, you do the same hash of the proposed password and if they match, you call it macaroni. Alternately, you can encrypt the password using DES or some other private key encryption technique. The technique for authentication is the same: encrypt the proposed password and if the cipertext matches that stored in your DB, the user is authenticated.
You can do an SHA-1 hash or DES encryption using the JCE.

Your best solution is to use a PCI-6110 simultaneous sampling board which can sample each channel at a rate up to 5 MS/s.
If you are using the PXI platform, you can use the PXI-6115 which can sample each channel up to 10 MS/s simultaneously.
Both of these boards can be found in the National Instruments catalog available online at www.ni.com

Looking for the best way to upgrade OS

Ok I have just reinstalled the old OS X 10.3.9 onto my 14" ibook g4 1.33 and I have 768gb of Ram with a 60 gb hdd. I was running OS X 10.5.8 the reason that I did this was I bought the laptop at a pawn shop and everything on it had the other person user name to it. I wanted this to be mine so I re did the whole thing. Now I need to know which way to upgrade the OS should i get 10.4(tiger) first then go to 10.5, or would be going straight into 10.5 be a better route. I am wondering this because I am new to this platform, and I do not want to do things the wrong way. If you guys and gals have any Ideas on which is the best course of action to take it would be huge welcome.

what is it specifically you wish to do? Right now, the widest support is going to be for 10.4 & 10.5. The 10.4 disc are so hard to come by & copies of leopard are drying up fast.
Now, not to lower expectations, but with your iBook, but most online video streaming is going to have studder & you won't be able to play HD content. iMovie 09 won't install without a hack.
With that said, your iBook should work fine with iPhoto, DVD playback & files which are non HD - h.264 codec based, Firefox, lots of printers & scanners, media & file sharing over a local network, wireless connections (with good routers like linksys or the aiport bases).
when I take a machine & install fresh, my core list of apps include firefox, camino (mozilla based browser, runs lighter than ff or safari), VLC, perian, flip4mac, Cyberduck ftp, and some office suite (iWork - Neo Office - MS Office).

If your ODS is set to be overwritten AND the newly appended IOs are not key fields then a full upload without data deletion will works. Because old entries will be overwritten by new ones which have values for the appended IOs.
On the other hand, if your ODS additive then from my point of view you need to remove all data and then reload again. Or else key figures would be doubled after a full upload.

i work at home in austria, at work in saudi arabia and i did not realy care to keep my user folder synced. all macs have the same admin id and user id and now i want to sync all 3 user folders to one and back up the synced user to one mac where i want o work in the future.

Grub-hell, looking for the right way.

due to a problem with my hard disk (4 partitions and over 100Gig free space -> repartitioning needed to be able to use it) I wanted to get grub loaded from another partition, being the one arch resides on. So I used grub-install and I went through hell... Error 15, error 17, ... I used knoppix to restore everything and now I'm able to boot again.
But I kind of lost my confidence in my grub knowledge and wanted to know what the best way is to install grub. I've tried grub-install and the regular grub prompt root and setup approach but it just didn't work... It may have to do with the funky device names from the new pata driver...
Does those names influence the interpretation of devices.map or the "root=" flag in the kernel line?

I am able to boot now but I just want to install the boot loader to another partition (being sda), so last time I just ran grub-install sda and made a menu.lst based on the previous one and the info in devices.map but everything went wrong and I needed to revert to the old situation...
It seems a little awkward to go download a live cd just to install grub, doesn't it?

Looking for the best way to consolidate iPhoto Libraries

I have a number of iPhoto libraries. I'd like to consolidate them into one library then eliminate the duplicates. Suggestions on how best to proceed would be much appreciated.

If you have the latest versoins of iPhoto and Aperture you can do it with Aperture.
Otherwise you'll need to paid version of iPhoto Library Manager. With it one can merge multiple libraries into a new library or one of the existing libraries. I'd create a new library to merge into. After the merge into the new library is dome and checked for completeness and to make sure it operates as expected the other, individual libraries can be deleted.

I know that FC is not developer tool and I probably have to use Flash Builder.
I've had lot of request to make web pages with parts that customers can upgrade on their own.
Example they want to upgrade some news on the page etc.
I probably do not have to make whole page dynamic.
But what would be the best solution to make some easy dynamic object on my website?
It would be nice if i can solve this without using database or content management system.
I know this question might not be directly related to FC, but as a designer I think you guys can help me best.

Flex can talk to whatever type of backend you decide to use, and it supports a variety of different data formats right out of the box. Here's a good getting started tutorial (note that since it's from Flex 3, there may be slight differences from Flex 4, difthe version that Catalyst creates). Here's a more advanced, database-oriented tutorial (this is Flex 4 beta 1, so again there may be slight changes).
I can't tell you whether it's best to use a CMS vs. a databcase vs. something else on the backend. That might be a better question for a different forum :-) If you're looking for the simplest possible solution, I'd suggest putting some XML files on the server and pulling content from those (see first tutorial linked above). Your clients can then update just the XML content files.

What is the simplest way for plsql procedure to return multiple rows (records). There are many combination of ways to do it but I am looking for a solution that is appropriate for plsql beginners. Many solutions use cursors, cursor variables, collections and more that kind of things that are complex on the face of it. Is it somehow possible to achieve the same with less effort?
Sample query would be: SELECT * FROM EMPLOYEES;
I want to use returned rows in APEX to compose APEX SQL(in that context plsql) report.
It is enough to use just SELECT * FROM EMPLOYEES query in APEX but I want to use plsql procedure for that.

The list of techniques (ref cursors, cursor variables, collections, arrays, using explict SQL) you have referenced in your post can be made to work. but...

What is the level of "programming experience" ?
What is the level of understanding of "Relational Result set" as processible in Oracle?
If you are looking for
Process_the_set_of rows_in APEX () kind of capabilitywhich "abstracts/hides" relation database from developers when working on relation database, it may not be the best approach (at least strategically). Because I believe it already is abstracted enough.
I find REF CUROSOR most effective for such use, when the "begginer" has basic understanding of processing SQL result set .
So in a nut shell, the techniques (that you already are familiar with) are the tools available. I am not aware of any alternative tools (in pure Oracle) that will simplify / hide basics from develpers.

I had a similar problem myself. This is what helped me.
I went to the App store app, scrolled to the bottom, logged out of the account, re logged in with my Apple ID. Then went back to app updates. Once I put in my ID password all was fine.

There is no default password for a guest user unless you've created one:

Content is forever tied to the Apple ID that bought it. Apple does not transfer content from one Apple ID to another. Apple does not merge Apple IDs. You will never be able to access your content bought with one Apple ID with a new Apple ID.
