Password for deleting apps

Is there a way to set up a password for deleting apps to prevent my baby from accidentally deleting apps?

You can set up Settings > General > Restrictions > Deleting Apps 'off' which will stop them being deleted (and if you set up restrictions then remember the passcode for it as you won't be able to recover it from anywhere) - the apps can still be moved around the screens so their positions may change, but they can't be deleted.

    Welcome to Support Forums
Simply deleting BlackBerry App World will not work , as you got it from your friend so follow this Knowledge Base
KB28225 : BlackBerry smartphone must be security wiped before transferring ownership
After a security wipe create and use your own BlackBerry ID on that device .

My ipad2 won't accept my apple password for new app install. I've tried several time and get a pop up "unknown error". Help?

Sign out of your account, restart the iPad and then sign in again.
Settings>iTunes & App Store>Apple ID. Tap your ID and sign out. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Go back to Settings>iTunes & App Store>Sign in and then try again.

  • Forgot the password to delete app store

i've made a password diffrent from my apple ID password to delete app store and other locked apps and now i forgott it. Can i reset the password?

Not without remembering it, that is what makes a password secure.
If you have Find My turned on in Settings > iCloud you can use your Apple ID and password to turn that off, and then you can restore to factory condition, that is erase all content and settings, to get rid of the other password.  There is no way to change it without having it.

  • ITunes keeps offering updates for deleted Apps

I have a problem with App Updates in iTunes. There are 6 applications, which I tried, but then uninstalled and removed from iPhone and iTunes library. Still iTunes shows me that I have 6 updates available and when I look at them they all are for the applications I have uninstalled and don't care anymore. How do I stop it from showing updates for deleted Apps?
    Thank you!
    Konstantin

Does anyone have an answer for this, as I am having the same issue. The apps are not on my phone or in my itunes account, but when i check my available updates, two updates for apps I no longer have automatically start downloading. It has done this for a few weeks. I have tried allowing the updates to download and then re-remove the apps, but then the same thing will happen with the same 2 updates the next day.

How do I change or recover a forgotten Apple ID Password?
If you've forgotten your Apple ID Password or want to change it, go to My Apple ID and follow the instructions. SeeChanging your Apple ID password if you'd like more information.
Also, unless you created the ID by:
Creating Apple ID without credit card: Apple Support Communities
You need a valid payment method even for free apps.

  • Why does my old iMac ask for the Admin password when deleting apps?

I just bought a new 2013 iMac. I'm giving the old 2009 iMac to a friend. I installed the old OS onto it, then I updated it to Mavericks. I saw there were some programs still on it that I used to have so I went to delete them. Every time I moved the app into the trash it asked me for a password (I registered the 2009 iMac under my friend's id.) Why is it doing this?

I'm giving the old 2009 iMac to a friend.
You need to wipe your iMac securely so that none of your personal stuff remains on the system.  Your friend then can update & upgrade as they see fit.  Your friend should also set up a new Apple ID & password for security reasons.
    Clicky click--—> Erasing disks securely
    ================
Start up from your install disc, go to Disk Utility and select the disk and click erase - to securely erase data click Security Options and Erase Free Space which will entirely wipe your disk, overwriting it with zeros so that no data is recoverable.

  • I have purchased a from within an app. I submit my password for the app, and then my Apple ID.  I then get the following messages "Regrant failure _ please log in with the same user that has bought this app"  and that is followed  by "cant conn with IT _

I have purchased an item from within the app PocketBible on my iPad.  However when I try to download it I am asked for my app User Name and Password and then my Apple ID and password.  I give both of these.  I then get a message which says Regrant failure - Please log in with the same user that has bought the app.  That is then followed by  Pocket Bible Alert - cannot connect to iTunes Store.
Anybody got any ideas, both what the 1st alert means and how I get round the problem please.

I had the same problem. My wife had the PocketBible on her Ipad 2 and she transferred ownership to me. I had to delete the app and reinstall it from the App store(logged in with my apple ID) and its working without a problem. I do not get those error messages when I attempt to Buy/Upgrade or Add/Remove books.

  • Why does my password for the app store work for updates but not for new purchases

Very frustrated. I've been trying to download Evernote for days now and it keeps telling me my password is incorrect. I use the same password to update apps on my phone and it works fine.
    Using the 4S
    Any ideas why?
    Thanks
    Michael

Solved. Talked to support and went into settings/store and signed out. Powered down and restarted and logged back in through settings/store and the app store then recognized my password.

  • Mail continues to ask me for password for deleted Mail account

Hey guys, I've deleted an old mail account in both the Mail application itself, as well as the Accounts folder in my system preferences.  Nonetheless, Mail continues to ask me to type in the password for this old gmail account.
It's gotten so annoying that I'm not able to use mail anymore and have to use Thunderbird, which is ok, but I love how everything syncs.
A funny thing.... This is the computer that syncs with my iPhone 4s, and yet I have no issues with the mail accounts on the iPhone.
I imagine it's some old bit of data somewhere in the back of my system, but I don't know much about how these things work.
I can provide images of how my Accounts in system preferences works and how that compares to the error message if you need it.  Also I can tell you anything else you need to know.
This problem is so annoying...can you help?

  • How do I save passwords for my apps

How can I save passwords for apps

You either write them down somewhere or you check the "remember me" (or something similar) button while in the app.  There is no universal way to save them.  It's up to the writer of the app whether or not to save credentials.

  • How to disable password for free apps/songs?

Is there a way to disable having to enter your password in the App Store or on iTunes to download free songs or apps?  I've looked all over in settings, so perhaps I've just overlooked it?

If you purchase again within 15 minutes of the first purchase it will not ask for your password. After that it will. I don't believe it can be changed.
