Programmatically generate password for pdf with data from database

Good day everyone,
I would like to know is it possible to programmatically generate passwords for pdf??
The main idea is to enable an automated process of pdf acquiring individualised password from a database (Excel, Access, you name it) and finally sending the pdf to individual recipient. Can I use javascript for this? And if yes, how?? If not, pls do advice me on the appropriate steps.
Background (for clarity's sake):
Currently I am working on developing an automated process for the sending customised, password encrypted payslip to about 80 staff. The entire procedure is pretty much summarized as below:
mail merg (UBS output in) excel to words -> convert words to pdf -> programmatically password encrypt the pdf -> email to individual recipients.
Well my current status is - I am quite done with the batch mail merge and convertion part. And batch proccessing of password encryption is not a problem, but the idea is to allow acrobat to retrieve password automatically from a database and not key-in each and every password manually. The batch email for now is another problem but for now I have to work stepwise. (Any ideas on how to do it would equally be valued though! =D)
System and software using:
Windows XP and 7 Professional
Microsoft Office Proffesional 2010
Adobe Acrobat X Pro
I would be really grateful for any relevant replies to my question and any additional thoughts or ideas are welcome!!

Basically I need to automate the password generation from database extract
e.g. Excel database with StaffID, StaffName, PayMonth, etc. Then when the pdf is created, its password would be <StaffID>_<PayMonth> which is extracted from excel.
Is it possible for this to happen?? I dont mine using Javascript, I'll just have to learn it.
Or how about recommending a program which does that??
Whichever is fine as long there's a solution!

I want to give password for PDFs generated from WEBI so that when a person receives scheduled pdf report in his mail,he gives a password to open it.pls let me know how that can be acheived?

This functionality is currently not supported by SAP Business Objects for WebI reports.Password protection is something that is done from the Adboe side. Kindly refer SAP note 1302401 to verify the same.

In BI publisher, We have options to enable PDF output security like diable printing, Encryption etc, How do we set such options under Oracle Answers. I would like to enable security control for PDF output for all the reports from Oracle Asnwers.

We are using 10g reports. We are displaying the reports in pdf output only. Now we would like to protect the pdf from unauthenticated users. All we need to encrypt a password with in the pdf file. Is there any way or approach to solve my requirement?

FM EXCEL_OLE_STANDARD_DAT has an import parameter:
VALUE(PASSWORD) DEFAULT SPACE
Just set password to the pwd you want.
And the parameter
VALUE(PASSWORD_OPTION) TYPE I DEFAULT 0

Want the table for PDF outputs in AR

Hi all,
I want the table which stores all the prdf output paths. In general 'fnd_conc_req_outputs' table stores all the details of the path of specific concurrent request. But for my case concurrent request id is not presented in this table.
To be specific, In AR if i run the 'Statement Generation Program', am able to see the pdf output from front end when i click the 'View Ouput' button. But i want the table which stores this pdf path of Unix box, so that i can get the pdf output from Unix box and place in some other directory.
For example, if we query the fnd_conc_req_outputs table, it will give the file path as '/u01/oracle/qa2comn/admin/out/QA2_bn-orclqaapp01/NUAN_RAXINV_XML_BELGIUM_7433550_1.PDF'.
Please help in this regard as soon as possible because it very much urgent for me.

Hi Octavio,
Most of my reports are showing path in the fnd_conc_req_outputs. But this report i am unable to see.Can you try this report once and see whether you are geting entry in that table.
To run this report
Go to Receivables User-->Print Documents-->Statements
Enter option as 'Print Statements', Bucket as 'Statement', Cycle as 'Monthly' and press submit. It autometically spawns the 'Statement Generation Program'.
But it takes some time to complete it and try in test instance only.

How To use Arial (Cyrillic) font in Reports 10g for PDF output

My reports are in Arial (Cyrillic) font, but there are only hieroglyphes in pdf output. Is there a problem with fonts on Report Server or something else?
My Report Server is 10g R2 (10.1.2.2) and OS is RHEL 4.
I followed metalink notes 750805.1 and 356221.1 but it didn't help me.

You also have to be careful with fonts. The font you download may be the same name, but a different font. Just because you find a Zurich BT font, does not mean it is the same. If you search on the internet, there are several sources of some Zurich BT fonts free. However, they may or may not be the same font. Editing is best done on the original document and not the PDF. One of the PDFs I found on the Landis site was only in Zurich font. I would think that the original file is available from the company and that should be the document you edit, not the PDF. It appears the original was created in InDesign (CS3).

Setting passwords for pdf document generated by SAP system

We are generating PDF documents from SAP system and distributing them as email attachment. just want to know if anyhow we can enforce the password protection while generating these documents or may be setting the password protection before distribution. If yes, then what are the requirements/essentials for the same?

1. Is there any OSS Note on the same issue where it has been published by SAP that it can only be ensured using third party solutions? If yes, may I have the link?
I have no clue on this i.e. whether we can integrate Adobe Policy Server. My understanding was in it's current state it is NOT possible to have secured PDF Forms.
2. May I have the more elaboration on the way you mentioned in your reply?
Well what you can do is hide all the elements in the form and keep only a TextField visible. Now write a script and check the value entered in the TextField. If it matches with the default password you want to set then make the form visible else display error prompt back to user.

Modify Password for PDF Files

I'm sure that I'm doing something wrong, but I can't seem to figure this out. I've made a secure PDF document by using the print method. I select Print from Firefox or whatever and then select the PDF button located in the lower left-hand side of the Print Dialog. Next, I select Save as PDF... from the list and then Security Options. In this window I enter a password that restricts modifying and printing the PDF and save it. If I open the protected PDF in Preview and try to print it I am prompted to enter a password, however, in Adobe Reader things are different. In Reader V10.1.2 for Mac The print menu option is greyed out and I can find no way to enter a password or print the PDF out.
Any help would be greatly appreciated

I can see the modify element of password protection being useless in Reader, but the print password is something that you would think should be enabled. I can't see Apple changing the PDF specification and adding their own capabilities to PDF files. When I add a password to the PDF file, Reader knows it's there and disables those capabilities in the app. It seems so obvious to me that I should be able to eneter a password to print or copy that I thought I was doing something wrong. I guess Adobe just wants you to shell out extra money as soon as you start thinking about security.

Forgotten security password for PDF scans

Is there a way I can unlock my pdf scans? I set security to stop page extraction from a group of pdf scans done years ago and I have now forgotten the password to use to edit them.
I now maintain a list of passwords but long ago did not. I'm guessing I saved it somewhere but haven't had success locating the password. Thought this might be a shot at being able to edit them.
I set the files to function at Acrobat v6 and above, if that is any help.

Currently i am working in Client ECC6.and we are useing The Smartform for Sending PDF document to the Customer.
Since recently email was setup so these invoices can be mailed directly to the customers, but we face the problem that when invoices are sent via email, the subject is like this.

Owner password for PDF files

I downloaded PDF file, however, when I try to save it to my computer, a window pops up and says; 'without the owner password, you do not have permission to save this document. Enter the owner password to unlock saving the document'. Where and how can I find the owner password?

Do you know who the author of the PDF? I contacted an adobe custmer service person but he said he could not help me because Adobe Reader was a free application. He directed me to this forum to submit my question.
