Password incorrect hotmail error

I have two hotmail accounts, on both my ipad and iphone ... it CONSTANTLY asks for a password. I can go to account, enter it and it gets verified. 10 minutes later, it is asking for a password again, saying password incorrect. I have:
Tried changing the password shorter has some blogs say.
I have made them have different passwords.
I have tried deleting the account, restoring the phone and recreating.
It continues after the IOS 7.03 upgrade
Nothing. Still having this issue for going on 3 months. It is very irritating, but it seems like I am caught between MSFT and Apple. Any ideas?
And, my exchange and gmail accounts are working just fine without this issue. Exchange might ask for a password once a month or so, but nothing like hotmail.

Hotmail Password Incorrect - nothing works! dang it!

Hi,
Looking for help after updating an iPod to iTunes 10.5. Hotmail email account no longer works.
I have deleted the email account on the iPod and tried to re-establish the Hotmail account in the Add Account section using 3 methods: Microsoft Exchange, Windows Live Hotmail, and Other. In all three cases, I received the "Password Incorrect" error message.
I have also reset my Hotmail password on desktop computer, and this didn't change anything.
I also wiped & restored the iPod in an attempt to start from scratch, but still got the same error message.
Not sure what else to try since I'm getting same error message using every conceivable way to establish the Hotmail account on my iPod. Again, it worked perfectly prior to recent 10.5 update.
Also, fyi, haven't been able to establish my iCloud account yet, either, which may be related to this as well? not sure.

Error messages, cannot get mail. server failed. password incorrect.

my iphone comes up with an error message that says "cannot get mail. the connection to the server failed", i always press ok. then the iphone says that my email "password incorrect" when I know it is not incorrect. i have typed the right one multiple times but i am not able to get mail for this certain email address. it is a windows live (hotmail) account. I have another gmail account that is working fine so far. i have tried all the trouble shoot tutorials on the apple website, nothing worked yet.... Please help!

i had to manually put in the correct email. I wanted to register a hotmail account but since it was giving me that response, I researched this issue. Finally, I found out some specifics and gave it a try. The post said to Go to Add email and Click Other. My email is a live account... I needed to type::
host name: outlook.com
SMTP (Outgoing mail server): stmp.live.com
Server port as 995
When I put all of that in, it worked. Hope that helps!

Did you try deleting the mail account, then adding it back? I've read a lot of times that is what needs to happen in order for it to work properly.

After I upgraded to Mavericks I was also having this message when I tried to update. There was a previous post about this problem which offered this simple solution which worked for me:

Got it! Thanx. What I did was go to my account, check that they had my new ID and Password which they did, then hit reset button. All fixed.

Error message when uploading to youtube..password incorrect?

trying to upload a video from imovie to youtube and I get an error message "username or password is incorrect". I have reset my password in youtube but still get this message. How do I clear it and reset it in imovie or quicktime?
Youtube have recently changed to google.. the movie is shorter than 10mins also...   cant figure out how to change/check the youtube password in imovie..

Thank you -   that is what I have been doing. I dont know what has changed, but I get that error message - username and password incorrect.      Where else are the settings in Imovie or Quicktime - so that I can check or change the password there.
I have entered my gmail account - and deleted it .. and reentered it - but it still doesnt work.    Ive even been into my gmail and youtube settings and made sure they were both the same...

Check your email settings (on your iPad) for that account and make sure the username and/or password are correct.

Baffled - 9300 setting up email - user - password incorrect error message

I hope someone here can shed some light ofn this because I've spent 3 weeks trying to resolve and I'm still stuck after literaly hours on the phone to the network provider and exploring every possible potential cause.
About three weeks ago I upgraded my BB from Curve 9300 to 9380. I copied settings using desktop software and transferred over to my new device. All apps reinstalled fine and I set five email accounts including 3 (business emails) provided through a hosting account with Media Temple. These all work fine and still do.
My old phone was to be given to a colleague, so I reset the device and put all setting back to default and followed the process indicated for a new SIM. When we tried to set up email on the old device (9300) it wouldn't work giving an error message stating unable to verify account contact email provider. I am the administrator of the email accounts so I know that the settings are correct., the network provider reset all settings for email etc and BIS account details etc are all correct. The email account works through outlook and can be accessed via webmail and we've tried password change and even deleted and set a new email account up but still the same problem - error message stating user or password incorrect.
I hoped that this was a problem with the settings on the old device (9300) which we could pin down and resolve however it seems not to be as now when I try to set up a new email account on my new device (9380) I get the same problem!! User password error - when the details entered are 100% correct and on a device which I successfully set up the same type of email account !!
I'm completely stumped and if anyone has or is experiencing a similar problem and has any info on this or has managed to resolve, I'd like to hear from you as I've explored everything I can think of with network and email hosts.

You need to call your provider to inquire if the 9300 is properly registered on their network and to the SIM card account in the device. They need to confirm the correct BlackBerry Data Plan on that account, it is not uncommon for them to mistakenly not do this or provision the incorrect data plan,.

Password incorrect -exchange account.

I have tryed to sing in to my ipad2 and cannot sign in so cannot get to my settings , mail, or anything. I have a box that shows password incorrect. Says to enter the password for the Exchange Account"hotmail".
I do not understand this as before I could always sign in with my password with no problems. How do I solve this. I do not have an iphone. My ipad is the last version befoe the newest came out.

I am constantly receiving an error when I try to login to the app store/ itunes. I can access my account online so my password isn't incorrect. I have reset it nevertheless but still I continue to receive the 'Apple ID Not found/Password Incorrect' error.

Ahh, so it isn't just me? I had asked a few friends to check and they say that they have been able to login successfully. Perhaps it's an internal error. Thank you for replying

Yes, I am putting the correct Apple ID in. It was working up until 5 minutes ago. I can login on the Apple website fine but not via my iTunes, app store or the iTunes on my iPhone and iPad

Anywhere Access - CERTIFICATE NOT VALID OR PASSWORD INCORRECT

Setting up Server Essentials 2012. During the "Anywhere Access" wizard I followed a link to get an SSL for the company's URL that is directed at the server. I chose one of the two options that was presented during setup and purchased a "SSL
Cert for SSL Certificate - Comodo Essential" from Enom Inc.
Once I got the certificate in email, and continued the wizard I get the following error:
CERTIFICATE NOT VALID OR PASSWORD INCORRECT
Either the certificate is not supported or the password is incorrect. Please try again.
I've tried everything I can to get it in the wizard to no avail. If I manually push it into the certificate manager it accepts it there properly but the Essentials Dashboard still thinks it's no installed so I believe I have to complete this wizard. I
cannot find ANY support on this currently on the internet on searching. Anyone able to help?
(By chance the server is also unable to install two critical updates. I am taking things one at a time in the order they come right now though.)

The PFX file is only allowed in the wizard if you are importing a previously created SSL. Here's the steps that got me to the dead end I'm in:
Step 1 - Setup process - Set up Anywhere Access
Step 2 – It asks what domain name we have pointing to the server, configures the firewall routing services etc and then gets to the SSL portion which I will depict below.
Step 3 – Domain Set up in the Anywhere Access wizard: Entering name of our domain to use.
Step 4 – SSL Certificate set up. I select “I want to purchase..”, clicked on the two links provided, decided on one from eNomCentral and made the purchase.
Step 5 – Cert request is issued and a link to GoDaddy and eNomCentral are given. It was eNomCentral which sold me on the Comodo SSL.
Step 6 – Park and wait.
The next time I go into the wizard to continue (once the certificate was issued) I get the errors I earlier depicted from the wizard stating:
CERTIFICATE NOT VALID OR PASSWORD INCORRECT
Either the certificate is not supported or the password is incorrect. Please try again.
I get two methods of importing it, copy/paste or upload. I've tried both methods and each generates a different error.

10.3.9 Kerberos hand cranked : PASSWORD INCORRECT

After a long newbie ride of AFP548 handcranking Kerberos & Kadmin I now do recieve tickets for kadmin/admin@REALM and root@REALM - trying all other princs turns back: Password Incorrect.
My dns log has no complains.
How do I turn all my users and their advanced passwords into the Kerberos? ktadd and cpw from kadmin doesn't seem to help.

following keys contain the correct info:

I don't know where entrys for
pop/realm@REALM
imap/realm@REALM
should be placed?
they should be pop/fqdn@REALM (though the fully qualified domain name could be the same as the realm)

OSX Server: Airport password incorrect

Hi there,
I've just upgraded my OSX server part to the lastest version (2.1.0) because since the last update from Lion to Mountain Lion it disables the OSX server features.
My current configuration is:
MacMini (mid 2011) Server edition (Intel i7 with 4 cores, 2 disks and 4GB ram)
OS: OS X Mountain Lion 10.8.2
Server: OS X Server 2.1.0
TimeCapsule: 2TB (l4th Gen)
Just started with reconfiguration the stuff and now i keep running into a "strange" problem, if i open the server app i see on the left side a tree with all features etc... one of them is called "Hardware" (the first one in the row), under the section "Hardware" i'll find two entries... the MacMini itself and my 2TB TimeCapsule.
When i click on the TimeCapsule entry it opens on the right side a nice and neat screen wich is telling me i can enter my Airport Password so i can maintain the settings from the TimeCapsule via the Server app. And thats where the problem lies... everytime i enter my password it keeps telling me that the password is incorrect :S what did i do wrong or do i misunderstant?
To be sure i changed my TimeCapsule Base Station password into a nummeric only password (this i have done via the Airport Configuration Utility) and i also changed my TimeCapsule Disk Password to the same. but as you allready can guess it... it doesn't works :S it keep telling me the password is incorrect.
Does anynbody have some ideas or cluess to look into?
PS. Some other strange/stupid thing i've noticed on upgrading OS X Server was... the user account screen doesn't contain any users anymore... :S before the ML update (thus with the 'old' OSx Server part) it contains a few users... and now... zero, noppes, nada, 0, nothing... thanks Apple?

Similar issue for me. Upgrade from server 10.7 to 10.8. Went through having to purchase a new operating system and a new server app. Downloaded new server app, opened, ran through wizard until it gets to the airport configuration - it can see my airport but refuses to accept the password. Typing a deliberate wrong password causees a 'incorrect password' message - the right password has no error message, but does not continue on to next step. So you have to untick the option to continue. Once the server is running (major problems there, but that's another issue) the airport appears on the right hand side, enter the password and it again refuses to accept it by telling me it's the wrong password (have confirmed correct password is being used - can manage airport through Airport utility).
Saw a thread saying to delete the server app (trash it) and re-boot, re-download from app store and try again - did that, still same problem.
Sigh. I try so hard to convince others that Apple is the way to go, but all these server issues (none of my exisiting services will work now - 'error reading settings' message) just make me wonder whether it's worth persisting.
Edit: a dialog box appeared after trying to enter the Airport password via the server pane - 'An error occured on the server while processing a command. The error occurred while processing a command of type 'getLoggedEvents' in plug-in 'servermgr_info'."
