  • Need sa password set by Web PI for gallery app install

I am a newbie just trying to get up and running in .net
I installed VS2012 Express via Web PI.  The "packages" seem to also include many versions of SQL Server:
    SQL Server Express 2008 R2 SP2
Microsoft SQL Server Compact 4.0 SP1
Microsoft SQL Express LocalDB Edition 11.0
When I try to install a sample app from the Web Gallery, it asks for the sa password for SQL Server.  I never set it and don't know how to.  I sure would be grateful for a push off the diving board into the deep end.
    Thanks!

Do you have access on SQL server?
If yes than you might reset the lost the password
Or you can create a new SQL login and provide the password and use it for installation
    http://blog.sqlauthority.com/2009/08/04/sql-server-forgot-the-password-of-username-sa/<o:p></o:p>
Step 1: Click Start-- All programs --
Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2-- SQL server management studio<o:p></o:p>
Step 2: Mention the instance name and
    connect to server<o:p></o:p>
Step 3. Open a new query
Step 4. Reset the sa password type the follow commands and excute:
    ALTER LOGIN [sa] WITH DEFAULT_DATABASE=[master]
    GO
    USE [master]

  • Setting a password at the web gallery level

    Hi,
I would like to host multiple password-protected albums in my web gallery but don't want to require my viewers to enter a password for each album they visit. Is there some way I can set password protection at the web gallery level and make all albums accessible to those who successfully authenticate?
    thank you!

No, not with iPhoto. That can be done with iWeb. You password protect a single site and can have multiple photo pages, i.e. slideshows, in that site. The just provide the URL to the site along with the password and user name to use.
It's so easy to create the photo page/slideshow in iWeb by dragging the album of the photos you want to use into the iWeb photo page like this.
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 08 libraries and Leopard. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

  • Problems Managing User Access Rights for Web Gallery

Has anyone else had issues changing the user access rights for a web gallery? It seems like the access is everyone or no one. Are the user rights handled per event in the gallery? I had issues adding events to the user's view/download rights in the publish settings.
Also, can these settings only be set when an event is first published? Attempting to change the user access rights after the event is published seems to require a re-upload of the images.
    Any thoughts?

    Problem solved.
I had to put the following lines in the specified "0000_any_80.my.website.conf" file:
            <Directory "/Library/WebServer/subdomain.domain">
Options All +MultiViews -ExecCGI -Indexes -Includes
                    AllowOverride None
                    # For Password protection

  • Can't access password protected .Mac Web Gallery

Safari is my primary browser. I have been creating web galleries using iLife '08 and my .Mac account and then viewing them with Safari for the past month or so with no trouble. This weekend I tried creating a password protected web gallery and it won't load in Safari. The gear icon just spins forever and has timed out when I have left it alone long enough. My other web galleries continue to load just fine. Clicking on the link from within iPhoto for my password protected gallery doesn't work, typing the url into Safari doesn't work, going to my gallery index and clicking on the icon of the "locked" gallery doesn't work, etc. I can still view all of my other web galleries, but this one that I'm trying to protect just won't load.
This actually appears to be a Safari problem. I don't get a dialog asking for User Name and Password. The url works just fine using Firefox on my Mac, and it also works on a PC running Windows XP. When using something other than Safari, I get the prompt for User Name and Password that I would expect. Upon entering that information, everything looks normal and works just fine.
Tsk tsk Apple! Safari shouldn't be having trouble displaying protected .Mac web galleries. Sheesh!

Just wanted to let you know that I have the EXACT SAME problem, except it is affecting my password protected iWeb site and my Gallery. I can view it from Firefox, so that is the web browser I am using now. I sent a bug report to Apple, and I also send them a request for help using e-mail, but so far I have gotten no response. Hopefully someone is working on the fix?

  • Unable to edit, add or change passwords in iphoto web gallery

Iphoto and Web Gallery were working great but recently, I am unable to add, change, or delete passwords to my web galleries. When I go Settings and into Edit Names and Passwords, I can add or change a password but when I click OK, it will not allow either clicking on OK or hitting return. I have also posted an album to web gallery and it does not appear in the list in Settings or in the Edit Name and Password lists but I can see my gallery out on the web with all photos.
Any help on why this is. I have both a IMAC and a Macbook and it is the same with both computers using my imac account. Both have updated software and the Macbook has Parallels installed. I
ran repair in Keychain Access with no problems. I created another account and this did not help.
    Thanks

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. Try the following:
1 - repair disk permissions with Disk Utility.
2 - delete the iPhoto preference file, com.apple.iPhoto.plist, that resides in your User/Library/Preferences folder..

  • Optimum Size for Web Gallery

In trying to set up galleries that have quick view time, I'm trying to follow iPhoto advise and use a Medium sized photo for Web Galleries. iPhoto help sez:+When you send, print, or publish a photo from your iPhoto library, you need to choose the right size+. For me that would be Medium size.
However I can find no place to determine size. How can I choose the size I want to use?

    smidi:
I believe that statement pertains to situation where you can control the size of the file to be used. However, in publishing a Web Gallery iPhoto determines the size. If you don't select the option to have viewers download the photos then the image size is 800 x 600 pixels. If you selected the download option then the full sized file is uploaded for viewer to download.
For emailing, if you use Mail, you will get a window which lets you select the size of image/file to send. For printing you want to use the largest size you can so you get the max resolution available.

  • Changing default jpeg compression for Web Gallery files

I have created several web galleries from both Raw and Jpeg files with Iphoto '08 that suffer from serious jpeg compression artifacts. I haven't found any way to change the compression amount to reduce the artifacts. Is there actually a way?

    papasteveo:
Welcome to the Apple Discussions. There is no way in iPhoto for the user to manage the jpg compression of the web gallery photos. If the option for visitors to download the photos is selected the copy that's uploaded is compressed approximately equivalent to an Photoshop quality setting of 8 or 9 out of 12. The pixel dimensions are the same as the original unless the max dimension in the original exceeds 3054. The the file is resized to 3054 max dimension.
If the gallery is just for viewing the image is resized to 800 x 600 with additional compression.
You could manually replace the file with one that you've prepared but it would be very tedious as each file has it's own folder and the file name is changed to web.jpg (viewing only) or large.jpg (download). You would have to rename each file to be uploaded to the new name and make sure it's placed in the correct folder.

  • Any way to keep original file name as image name for web gallery?

    Hi,
I wonder if there is any way to keep the original file name as image name for a web gallery (instead of "picture-1.jpg)
People often send us the thumbnails or the image from the web and we have to search forever to find the image in AP - if we could keep our original filename then this would be a second away.
    Hope somebody has an idea
    thanks

    Hi William,
I finally had time to play - unfortunately it does
not work the way you described above.
I´m just exporting a set of images using the "Stock
Black" Theme - marked name only - batched the
filename to masterfile - but the actual picture names
    are still "picture-1.jpg" - "picture-2.jpg".
    did I miss anything? thanks
I see what you want, you don't care about the screen name so much but want the generated file names to be the same as the version names. From earlier messages though I am not quite sure why this is a problem, since you said other people were picking the images they wanted - say Image1 and 23 and 8. That to me says those people are going through the directory using Finder or Explorer, not using the HTML.
Is it the case you are giving people web galleries on CD? If so, then perhaps also export a "browse" directory with exported images using the version names, so that people can use the right name.
Or perhaps it's the case that people are downloading the images from the web, and then using the downloaded file names to send you requests. I'm not sure how to fix this yet and do not know if 1.1 offers something for this.

  • Help- how do I make images ready for web gallery??

    Hi,
I am trying to create a photo gallery of images within Bridge using the Adobe Web Gallery feature. I have the images I want to use in a folder. What steps do I need to take to get the images saved in the correct format and file size? Also, what files sizes do you recommend for a web gallery? I need to make medium to large thumbnails & large images (when clicked). Here's what I am thinking I need in terms of getting this right:
use Adobe Photoshop/Bridge to create the gallery
    jpg for photos
    gif for solid colors
file size under 2MB (full image), under 20-30K for (thumbnails), total size of all images under 50K (no more than 50 sec. to download)
    screen size: 984x728
    screen resolution: 72dpi
If you could help me in any way, shape or form concerning making my images ready for a web gallery that would be most helpful. And if you can refer me to any resources on making a web gallery that'd be awesome. Thank you!

  • Adding captions to photos for web gallery

I'm creating a web gallery for my web page and I'd like to add a caption to each photo and not show the file name.  I've got Bridge CS4 3.0.0.464 and would like to use either the 'Filmstrip' template.
Can't figure out how to add captions.

The only way I found to do it was to apply the Caption Maker script from Russell Brown before creating the gallery.
This puts a caption on each picture.

  • Are there addresses for Web Gallery photos?

So, I assume that when you make a web gallery, the photos are being uploaded to your iDisk space. Is there a direct address to link to so they can be HTML'd?

    Chris:
Open one of the web galleries in iPhoto and look at the top of the window. There will be a url link you can either copy or use to visit the online gallery. If you click on the Tell a Friend button an email will be created with the link in it also.

  • Specific order for web gallery photos

I am publishing a web gallery (newbie) and the photos need to be in a certain order-its a wedding album. How do I get them in the correct order. I put them in order in iphoto, but when the gallery publishes, they are random. Thanks

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. Do you put them in order after creating the gallery in iPhoto and before publishing? All of my online galleries have the same order that are in the iPhoto galleries. You can change the order after publishing and then hit the publish button to reorganize the online gallery.

  • Flash, Dreamweaver, or Fireworks for web gallery

I'm wanting to make a nice web gallery. I do not want to use
the "create web gallery" feature found in Photoshop or Fireworks
because I want to be able to customize my design more than what's
    offered in those templates.
I'm at a loss as to what Fireworks is really used for in the
first place, but from digging around online it seems like maybe
it'd be helpful for making a web gallery (or maybe just the initial
stage of figuring out the design?)
What is the best software for creating a custom gallery? I'm
assuming Flash, but then I thought maybe I could pull it off with
    Dreamweaver?
I like how the images zoom in and fade out in these
    templates:
    http://www.entheosweb.com/photoshop_templates/flash_photo_gallery.asp
These all had to be made with Flash right? I don't want to
pay for a template - again because I want to have custom design of
my own. But I haven't a clue how to do this all, so I'm also
wondering what I need to study up in? Flash alone? ActionScript
    3.0?
Thanks for any tips to lead me in the right direction.

    your other post for replies.

  • Using captions (or, hiding file names) for Web Gallery with Aperture 2.0

Is there a way to add captions to pictures displayed using the Aperture 2.0 web gallery without changing the actual file name? I'd like to keep the file name but add a caption to each photo if possible.
    Thanks

    Hi John
I'm not making extra versions for this, just using the version name as the name in the web gallery. If you are not already using the version name then it lends itself to web gallery naming nicely. If you are using version names already, perhaps reconsider how necessary this is to you as you are tying up this other potential use.
My file names all contain a date and index number but I try and use more 'user friendly' version names if part of my final output will be for web galleries. This is good for clients as they don't have complicated names to order, but it's also a cinch to find the files using the search bar in Aperture.
    Hope this helps
