hello all, i'm having a problem opening pdf files in internet explorer instead of acrobat 9. the "Display PDF in browser" box is checked under Edit > Preferences... and i've opened regedit and watched as bBrowserIntegration registry key is deleted and re-written while checking and unchecking that box. i've tried a complete uninstall/re-install of acrobat twice, once running ccleaner after uninstalling to clear unused registry keys. this problem is localized to that particular user. logging them off and logging on with a local account, pdf files from the internet open just fine with ie8. any help would be appreciated. thanks.

Adobe recommends against have different versions of the same application installed at the same time. They also discourage having Reader and Acorbat installed at the same time. I would install version 6 and repair or reinstall version 9.

I am configured to open pdf's in Acrobat instead of Firefox. This works great on the web. I have a local mirror of a website on my local disk as well as a network disk. When I use my html file to attempt to open the pdf on the local disk (file:///C:/T10/drafts/adc3/adc3r04.pdf) it opens as text in Firefox - appears to be ASCII view of the binary contents of the pdf. When I use my html file on my network disk (http://tucgsa.ibm.com/~kdbutt/T10/drafts/adc3/adc3r04.pdf) everything works as it should.

You can set the pdfjs.disabled pref to true on the <b>about:config</b> page to disable the build-in PDF viewer and use the Adobe Reader instead.

How about if you right click on the PDF and select Save Link As..., and then open it locally from within Reader? Does it work ok then? That might be a workaround until the issue within the browser is resolved.

Numbers 09 not working - I can open the program but only a few files are available, missing blank, checklist and many others. e.g when I click on a file I get this error: The document "nmbtemplate is invalid. The index.xml file is missing. help.

Here is what is going on:
Numbers in iWork 09 not working can't access Blank, Checklist and many other files within Numbers. I can open the program but only a few files are available. When I click on the file (which also has no icon just the name of the file) this warning appears:
The document "Blank.nmbtemplate" is invalid. The index.xml file is missing.
I recently had to get a new hard drive installed and had the system upgraded and more memory put in by a Mac certified specialist recommended to me from the Apple store in Northbrook because this was the 3rd time my drive went bad but this time it was to old (I got the IMAC- in 2007) and the Apple store could no longer work on it this time so they recommended a few places that had certified Mac specialists. Since then Numbers is not working right.
I'm sure it's something simple to fix, but I've tried re installing it and that didn't work. Appreciate any help.

There is one way its getting fixed. Once I update my Adobe Illustrator CC to Adobe Illustrator CC 2014 it is further allowing me to go into the system folder and allocate the font to the file so that it can replace it. My only concern now is that our MAC partners who will receive these files back from us have Adobe CS6. We will down save it to CS6 but I hope they won't experience any font issues because of us using CC 2014? Any light you can shed on this?

Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.

I made a very complex form, but have decided it would be best to have it as a portrait instead of landscape.
Of course, when I rotate it, everything on the form is turned sideways.

Assuming that you created the form fields in Acrobat and those were just imposed on top of a document that you created from another application you might try these steps:
1. Create a new PDF in landscape from the original document.
2. Copy the form fields from the previous document to the new document.
3. Move the fields to the proper locations.
At least I think this has a chance of working. You might give it a try on a single page or such.

Spry menu works in Firefox and Safari, but not Internet Explorer

I designed my school website in CS4 and CS5. The left spry menu bar appears correctly in Firefox and Safari, but in Internet Explorer the gray background and buttons do not appear. You can only see the text and when you scroll over the text, it disappears even though when you click on it, the link does appear. The website is http://ml.chinookschools.org. I created the site on a mac and I am hosting it on a mac mini server on my network at school. I am a beginner with Dreamweaver and I'm not sure if someone can help me with this, but I would sure be appreciative for any help offered. Here is the source code for the main template page:

You are not using the latest Spry files
The latest version of the Adobe Spry Framework is 1.6.1, this is the same version that ships with Dreamweaver CS4. If you use Dreamweaver CS3 (uses Spry 1.4), its wise to upgrade your files to the latest version. This can easily be done using the Spry Updater that can be found here.
Then, if you have a look near the bottom of SpryMenuBarVertical.css you will see that the white background colour has been specified for IE as in
@media screen, projection
    ul.MenuBarVertical li.MenuBarItemIE
    display: inline;
    f\loat: left;
    background: #FFF;
Change the value to #CCC and it will have fixed that part of the problem.
When you upgrade to the later version of Spry, make sure to keep a copy of the CSS file as a reference to modifying the new CSS file.

Hello,
We have a requirement to use only internet explorer for SAP portal.
When we try to use portal in any other browser, it should display a message saying "This browser is not supported for the application" (or any other message). But purpose is, the portal application should be usable in only one browser i.e Internet Explorer.
If any one have any idea on this, how this can be implemented, then please share the same. I tried to find if there are any standard SAP portal parameters, but haven't come across any.
