Penalty charges

hi,
Penalty charges need to be calculated on services .
service amount =Rs 1000
penalty =Rs 50(-)
net price =950
But tax should be calculated on service amount not net price ,ex( 10% tax on Rs1000  not Rs 950)
how do i configure in M/08 and M/06.
Kindly help me solving the issue

Hi,,
Create condition types for penality with percentage, and actual service amount in M/06. Specify whether it is header or item condition. In M/08  give step 1 for service amount, in step2 penality 5%, the counter step is 1. For taxes also counter step is 1. Create different pricing procedure bycopying standard pricing pricing procedure. Remove theirelavent steps and inculde desired condition types and counter steps according to your requirement. Thanking you.

  • Contract Cancellation and Penalty Charges

I have recently received the letter from BT informing me of the impending price rise for line rental etc. I have generally been happy with BT but I'm now finding their basic price structure prohibitively expensive, so took the decision to move my business elsewhere.
I contacted BT last week only to discover that I was tied to a automatically renewing 12 month contract that doesn't end until next March which would cost me over £40 to terminate early. My issue is that I received no notice from BT that the contract was renewing before the anniversary and there is nothing on the regular bills or the account section of the website stating this date. BT assure me letter were sent but it seems a common theme that these don't always arrive. According to BT's T&C's these letters should arrive in plenty of time to cancel if required. I understand that this price change may also be viewed as a material change in the contract I hold and so should allow cancellation without penalty.
I raised a complaint to this effect as I feel these are extremely sharp business practices and generally unfair. I was told by the person raising the complaint it was basically a waste of time as these issues are regularly turned down. I received a call this afternoon stating the complaints dept was happy with the situation and would not be acting further.
From what I understand Ofcom has already reviewed this situation and next month Penalty charges are being slashed. Please could somebody let me know how I escalate my complaint to Ofcom and also if there is an exact date when these reduced penalties come into effect?
    Rant over. Many thanks.
    Rob

I can't believe this. I had exactly the same issue and looking at the date on your post, on the same day! My paper bill didn't arrive this month, it was due yesterday, today I received a call saying I had to pay my bill, so I checked online and noticed that the discount of my contract wasn't there.  I called them and they said they renewed my contract without my concent, neither my letter nor by phone. Like you they said a letter was issued, but I never got that letter because I had to complain from day one signing with BT, and I was desperate to get to the end of the contract. The person who picked up my call is some other part of the world, said I HAD to fulfill my contract whether i signed it or not. Obviously, they know nothing about consumers rights.
I'm not sure how to deal with the situation now because I'm not going to pay for a contract that I didn't agree to, neither will I pay for contract that increased in value, and a contracted that was set before the letter changing the line rental.
I'll keep an eye on this thread in hopes that someone has an answer for us. I'm sorry this has happened to you, but I'm glad in a way that my complaint is not the only one.

  • Ridiculous penalty Charges

Just been told to leave contract will be charged 220 quid!! I'm actually moving in with someone to save for my own place and he already has BT so can't take it with me.
I have Broadband Option 1 and anytime calls, been told my contract doesn't end till Feb 2013, I have no paperwork to tell me I had signed for an 18 month contract. I have asked them to provide some proof of that now.
I don't mind paying a fair penalty charge but this is outrageous amount.
What happened to the lower penalty charges by OFCOM?????

I think you'll find a verbal agreement is a contract when it comes to telephone sales. If not then broadband, TV and mobile suppliers wouldn't have sales agents in call centres. By your reasoning, if a verbal agreement is not a contract, then BT don't have to provide what you agreed they would when the sale was made? Contracts work both ways. You agree to pay for the length of time agreed, and the company agree to provide a service for that length of time so long as payments are made. If not they have to be seen to be trying to rectify any issue within a reasonable time frame.
There is a get out clause in that, if the speeds you're getting are lower than the minimum speed range expected for your line you can cancel in the first 3 months, no questions asked. This was brought in by the regulator last year.

  • Charges associated with switching from Family to Individual Plans

Is there any kind of penalty charge  for switching from a family plan to an individual plan when it is the secondary line that is being removed and the secondary lines' contract is complete?

Thanks to the community members for your input. Hello skiibojosh, adding to what was stated, Are you just wishing to change your calling plan so each line remains with Verizon Wireless under their own individual plan You can always change your calling plan online without a penalty as it is not related to a customer agreement. I hope your line that completed the contract does remain with us. We desire to provide your line with best calling plan available. Here's a link that goes over the individual calling plans we currently offer. Additionally, there are great benefits with having a family share plan. However, depending upon your specific circumstances, if you desire to have both of lines on an individual plan, you could process a calling plan change online at My Verizon. It is suggested to change the calling plan effective on your next bill cycle to help avoid any prorated charges. If you need additional assistance with doing a calling plan change, send me a private message with your contact information.

  • Rolling contract and increased charges

Hi, just started another 12 month contract (I only realised this when I logged on today).  And I also see there is a price rise set for 28th April.  Can I use this as an excuse to leave early?
I'm on  Unlimited Evening & Weekend Plan at no extra cost and I guess I cannot use the price increase as an excuse (to be honest I don't even know if the price increase affects me!?)
Oh well, will just have to put a pin in the calendar.
    EDIT:
FYI, this is a response I've got in a different forum:-
"The only good thing about these price increases is as the opening poster suggests it does allow cancellation of services with no penalty charge to pay.
see the BT terms and conditions sections 47 - 50. tried to post link but can't as a new user, anyway google "bt cancellation charges" and the terms and conditions for BT telephony, broadband, infinity, vision etc should be one of the first things you get.
I have just cancelled my contract with them that was only 4 months into a 18 month contract, the fact that they are increasing the charges means under section 50 of the T &Cs above you are entitled to cancel your service with no early cancellation charges. Worked for me anyway, glad to get rid of BT, not really sure why I ever went back to them. Hope this helps someone else."

In that case, you should look carefully at any paperwork that BT sends you, including the small print at the back of the little BT Update magazines that BT sends out from time to time.
You have 10 days to cancel from when BT notifies you of the change.

  • Recognize Penalty Against Supplier

I need to know the best practice to recognize penalty against a supplier, using Credit Memo and making a price correction, or recognize the reduced amount as discount when payment?
    the case:
a supplier delay the delivery and a penalty have to be applied.
in this case, the desired action not a price correction specially it will effect the invoice price variance as i know, also it's not a discount. So, what's the best practice for this case?

    Hi,
Penalty is going to reduce the Liaiblity amount that needs to be paid to the supplier ...From accounting perspective, if you are using Price Correction option or Discount option at payment stage, in both the cases the penalty amount would not be accounted for in a different account code, it might make the changes on the transaction account itself in case of price correction and in case of discount the account code would be taken from Financial options / supplier site configuration ...
The better approach would be to have a credit memo created for the penalty amount and record it in a different account code and then make a zero payment to the base invoice adjusting the credit memo. By this way, you can know the amount of penalty charged against the supplier till date differentiating between discounts and penalties..

  • BT Vision, You View...... in fact BT in general

I cancelled my BT Vision service on 10th October to actually finish on 19th December ie at 12 months.
The reason I cancelled was because my You View box has been an awful experience, its been totally unreliable, I object to acting as a test bed for debugging problems and finally one day it erases over 250 hours of programmes some of which I had been keeping for the winter nights.
I followed up by telephoning BT on 13th October just to make sure it was cancelled (based on previous experience with BT) and was told it was cancelled. At the same time I renewed my BT package to now include unlimited broadband and got an email listing telephone line, telephone anytime calls and broadband unlimited as my new package to start 19th December.
All seemed fine until I got a bill in mid December which included BT Vision up to mid January 2014. It also included anytime calls twice (yes twice) as well to rub salt into the wounds.
I rang BT and they told me I hadn't cancelled my BT Vision and that I could cancel from that day but the cancellation would require 30 days notice. Strange says I, you sent me an email listing my new package starting 19th December which doesn't list BT Vision.
Since then I have made eight more phone calls, I have noted down each and every one I have spoken to, to get this sorted. I have spent nearly an hour each time talking to various people. I would love to list some of them here to embarrass them.
In addition I have had demands to return the You View box. I have questioned this only to be told that I should ignore this request as I had the subscription for the minimum of 12 months. I have asked them to write to me or email me telling me that I can keep the box and until today nobody has been in a position to email this to me, "I've put a note on the file" is the answer I get to which I reply, will that be as reliable as the note on the file to cancel my BT Vision in the very first place?
Today I get a letter and a plastic bag telling me to return the box.
I phone and finally speak to a decent person in BT who emails me to tell me that I can keep the box. Wonderful!
In addition I have now sent two detailed letters of complaint to BT, both by recorded delivery and both to the MD for the retail division. Both have been delivered, one mid Nov complaining about the YOU View box problems I have had and one mid Dec complaining about this latest debacle and also including a copy of the earlier complaint.
To date NO REPLY!  Great communications from a supposed communications company.
So BT let me explain to you what is going to happen, when this latest package is over I'm going to kiss you goodbye and go to a communication company who can communicate reliably with their customers. Assuming there is one of course.
Oh yes, by the way, I am told today that I have a credit coming on my next bill £6.90 for the BT Vision overcharge and £5.15 for the duplicated anytime calls. Thats a total of £12.05 credit for what must be eight hours spent on phone calls to BT and for writing two letters of complaint.
It saddens me to say that I used to support BT but it really has no idea how to look after its customers.

    Hi
Well to update, today I have had a call from a Neil who has apologised for the bad service.
It seems that the first of my letters has been received but no action was taken, the second has not appeared as yet even though I have a tracking confirmation that it was delivered. Apparently BTs service standards are to reply to complaints in 6 weeks, yes 6 weeks.
So yes all appears sorted, credits are on the way.
    However.
My experiences really are not an exception are they?
We ring BT to be told that they are "recording calls for training".......my word has anyone actually listened to the calls I have made and wondered why I as a customer stay and put up with this service?
We are asked to fill in surveys and my replies are damning, perhaps I am the exception!
I took up broadband about 7 years ago. It was a nightmare to start with simply becuase I had a router with a fault. Call after call to BTs technical help line, all of whom want to access your computer "to check the settings". You tell them that you have two computers and the dropping out occurs with both therefore altering the settings to one is rather pointless but no, they have to tweak this setting and ask you to see how it goes. I even get comments like "do you have a fluorescent light in your room" "do you have a fax machine" because at the time according to BTs technical help either would be the likely cause of me losing my broadband. And so it went on for months, finally one day I speak to a woman who looks at the history of my calls and says that she'll send me a replacement router. Problem solved!
Some years back I had horrendous problems with lost emails. Check me out for my other posts. Needless to say that finally after weeks of pestering yes they admitted that somehow a month of emails had disappeared from their webmail. As I work form home you can imagine the problems that caused me.
I have had numerous problems over the years, slow connections in particular however ring BT technical and its always me by default. You go through the most mindnumbing conversations with people who quite honestly in most cases I wouldn't let them walk my dog. Recently I spoke to one and happened to mention that I had a NAS plugged into my router. He in no uncertain terms told me that I should never plug anything else into my router........he hadn't a clue what a NAS was......this is BT technical help.
Then finally the BT You View, Vision debacle. I should never have done it. You see a box made by Humax and you assume it is going to work. The biggest issues with You View in my opinion are that its fairly clear its been launched and the customers are debugging it. Second issue is USB, theres two USB sockets which do nothing becuase they are not implemented. So after some many weeks possibly months of using the box I decide to back up some important recordings only to find I can't. Strange isn't it, we all know how hard drives can fail, we are told constantly to back up important data, theres two USB sockets that could allow this but don't. By then its too late to cancel the subscription even though I ask BT. No I'm told if I cancel early theres a penalty charge, why when the box has a USB socket in full view which on close inspection doesn't do anything.....its rather like having a towing hitch on a car only to find the day  you want to use it its made of plastic for decoration only. But no the earliest I can cancel with no charge is 19th Dec 2013. There then follows issue afte issue with the box, BT even send an engineer to check it and perform a factory reset but retaining my recordings. the final straw is one day in early October I turn it on only to find its telling me it needs a factory reset, to this day I don't understand why but some others on the You View forum have said that this is a bug! I perform the reset being paranoid to ensure that I pick the option which enables a factory reset and retains my recordings and you can guess over 250 hours of recordings deleted. Of course had the USB worked, most would have been backed up!
So I cancel the box and somehow BT manage to lose this instruction even though three days later I ring to check this is being actioned and I'm told it is. The rest is as per my first posting.
I have spoken to so many people most of whom are not fit for purpose. They can't action anything, they can't send emails confirming anything, yet they ask in my case did I get an email confirming the cancellation? For a firm dealing with communications they need to look up the meaning of the word in the OED.
Saying all this, every so often you come across someone who will help, Neil today, Aaron is another, both the BT engineers who have visited have been superb. Dare I say, when I moan to BT engineers about the telephone support they too agree its appalling.
You ring to be told "we are very busy". Well BT perhaps you wouldn't be so busy if you dealt effectively with customer issues the first time they rang and every time a customer ordered or cancelled something you could actually send an email confirming this. It all seems so random, sometime you do, sometimes you don't.
Sad isn't it? A great British institution which everyone I speak to seems to hate dealing with.
But what do you do? Ok this is sorted, but I know deep down only until the next time. Is anyone out there in BT land reading this I wonder? Will anything actually change or improve.....no it will not of that I am 100% sure.

  • Update to 6.1.1 failed - stuck in recovery mode?

I am a Vodafone customer in the UK with an iPhone 4S.  I didn't actually see the warning from Vodafone saying not to update to 6.1.0 and so went ahead and did it.  I had no problems whatsoever, was working perfectly fine.  I then saw the release of 6.1.1 and the advice from Vodafone to do it.  I went ahead and did it Over The Air but it didn't complete.  I got the message on my phone saying to plug into iTunes.  iTunes said my phone was in recovery mode and I had to restore.  Tried to do it but got unknown error 36 and the restore failed.  Went through all the suggestions on the support website - tried different computers (Windows and Mac OS), different USB cables, different network etc.  Contacted support in the UK and they called back.  Went through the whole thing again, tried the holding home and reset trick etc.  Still not luck.  In the end they put me through to support in the US who said they have the engineers looking at it.
Has anyone else had this issue?  Error 36 can be a hardware error and I'm worried they will say there is a problem with my device and make me pay for servicing (out of warranty).  There was absolutely nothing wrong with it, it was definitely the upgrade to 6.1.1 that did it.  Without sounding selfish, I'm hoping it is a widespread issue so that they admit liability and fix/replace without cost or release 6.1.2.

    Hi All
Good news of sorts. Took my phone to a local repairer and they have seen a growing number of iPhones phones doing the same thing with the latest "update" to 6.1.1. They have no idea what is the cause nor the actual solution but have found by progressing a phone down a number of computer and different cables and doing a DFU (think that is the term) eventually one combination of computer and cable works, if you are lucky. The best cable they have found is a cheap non-genuine one with a particular computer been "luckier" than most. If this does not work then you have to send back to the people you brought the phone from (Telstra in Australia my case and I wish anyone luck dealing with them) and either claim warranty (be almost certain to be told you either dropped it or soaked it) or if you want to see a phone in your lifetime shell out $270 for a reconditioned replacement.
Because I used iTunes and accepted the backup before "upgrade/brick" option my iPhone is currently restoring my applications and data. Looks promising. Total cost for this "random" repair was $47 from the local company. Oh, and yes the "upgrade" blew 1GB of my data allowance which in Australia is mega expensive if you overrun your limit ($2,500 penalty charges or maybe $250 depending what mood Telstra are in).
Dear Mr/Ms/Mrs/Master/Madam Apple you have seriously affected and annoyed a customer.
So if you are having no joy try a repairer that has a few computers and cables and if you are lucky then they might be able to "unbrick" your iPhone by doing a DFU but do mention to them they might need to try a few computers and cables before getting lucky.
Hope you are as "lucky" as I was.

  • Free/Reduced Price phone with plan upgrade prior to contract expiration

I have a two year family plan contract (only 2 of us on the plan) with basic phones and basic service (no texting or data plan).  If I want to upgrade to a data and texting plan prior to my contract expiration, would we be elible for free or reduced price android phones?  Would my two year contract start over from the date of my upgrade?  Would there be any penalty charges for making the change prior to the contract expiration?

Changing your plan will have no effect on the date of your next upgrade.  If you have one final New Every 2 (loyalty discount) coming, you MAY change the value of that credit.  That credit is only a $30 or $50 discount off the cost of the phone though.  When you are eligible to upgrade, you'll be able to choose from any of the phones Verizon is currently selling, and you'll get the discounted rate for Androids and other phones.  Would my two year contract start over from the date of my upgrade? Your plan change will not affect your upgrade date.  The only thing that restarts a 2 year contract is signing a new contract, and most people only do that when they purchase a new phone at a discounted price.  Would there be any penalty charges for making the change prior to the contract expiration? No, there is no penalty, you can change your plan at any time.

  • 'Deferred payment for equipment' ?

I am cancelling/closing my BT account, and received an email from BT explaining about some charges that I will incur due to ending my contract early.
    One of these:
Charge for your equipment - You'll need to pay about £65 for your outstanding equipment charges. You can find out more about this under 'Deferred payment for equipment' at bt.com/legalstuff
Now as far as I can see, the word 'Deferred' does not appear on that page anywhere.
So - what is this charge for? The only equipment I have received from BT is the HH5 - and I have received another email asking me to return this...
I dont mind one or the other - but having to pay for something AND returning it seems a little much.

It's BT's way if imposing large charges on people who leave early without actually calling them penalty charges - because OFCOM doesn't allow penalty charges any more.
When BT send you a Home Hub, they are not giving it to you or lending it to you.  They are selling it to you instead.  All the time you are a customer, you don't have to pay.  If you see out a full year of broadband payments, then BT will write off the price of the Hub, and you never have to pay.
BT are asking you to return the hub for refurbishing or recycling.  You don't have to if you don't want to - after all it's now your Home Hub.
The relevant section from the T&Cs is:-
    Deferred Payment for Equipment
In some cases we will allow you to defer payment of the full price of the equipment we supply for use with the service. If you then end the service within 12 months of BT accepting your order and you did not pay the full price of that equipment when you placed your order, then you will be liable to pay the balance – that is the price of the equipment as set out in the Tariff Guide, less any amount which you paid upfront when you placed your order, unless you end the service within the cancellation period (as detailed in paragraph 10 of the Residential Standard Terms). The deferred payment is no longer payable after you have received service for 12 months or more from the date that your order was accepted by BT.

  • BT Infinity Usage Monitor not updating.....hmmm???

This happens at the end of every month.  I'm starting to think it is an actual ploy from BT to stop users from knowing how much broadband usage they have left?  The usage monitor normally starts acting up around the 25th of every month....then you get an odd day where it works then it then it stops updating completely.  This leaves a BT user in a vunerable position.
A, Scared of using Internet - Not wanting a penalty charge by going over your limit!
B, Not allowing the BT user to use their full amount of data that they are paying for = saving BT money = ripping us off!!!
SORT IT OUT BT.......IT'S JUST NOT GOOD ENOUGH.

A lot more in this thread regarding the usage monitor,

  • Re: Complaint over poor customer service - Broadba...

    Just go!
I've got them to drop my contract without penalty charges.
I ordered BT Infinity2 in September 2012, having been sucked into the 76Mb download speeds dream.   I waited weeks for a line to be installed, but was given ordinary broadband with 4Mb download speed, instead of Infinity2.
After months of emails and calls, I got someone to admit they had messed up and they agreed to stop the contract.  No compensation for the frustration of trying to get any sense out of them, but at least I can put it all behind me now!
Just go, and work out what to do after that.  At least you can get your sanity back!
