Perform SQL search in QueryObject

Hi,
I've parsed a very complicated XML into several QueryObjects - more or less got now 3 "tables".
Now i would like to use these three tables and perform a SQL search. something like
Select * From tblMenu Where menu_dayId = 2
I have searched and also tried to find a way in the Coldfusionreference, but was not lucky.
Does anyone got a solution how i can achieve this goal?
greets

Found an answer: You just have to ask the correct question. QoQ = Query of Queries
<cfset tblMenu = QueryNew("menuId, menu_dayId, menuDesc") />
<cfquery dbtype="query" name="tblToday">
            select * from tblMenu
            where menu_dayId = #curWorkDay#
</cfquery>

  • Can't perform wildcard searches

    Hello world,
We're using Portal 3.0.9.8.1 with Patch 1949492 installed. This is on 8.1.7.2.4 SE Database.
When performing a search, cannot include wildcards. E.g. a search for 'test' returns only the exact word 'test'. It does not return 'testing','tester','test1','detests'.
This is against what Portal's Own Help file states. Click 'Search Tips' on the 'Advanced Search Page' and you are told the following:
The % character is interpreted literally, so do not include it as a wildcard. If you enter 100% as your search term, search finds content that contains the text 100%, not 1000 or 10000. Wildcards are automatically added to the beginning and end of your search term, so searching for 100 will automatically return content that contains 1000 and 10000.
If interMedia is installed and enabled, search automatically uses the stem operator to search for words that have the same linguistic root as the specified word. For example, if you specified the word lift, the search feature will return content that contains the words lift, lifting, lifted, etc.
Both of these statements are blatantly untrue as it does neither.
Any thoughts Oracle? Has anyone else managed a wildcard search?
    Frustrated
    Dave

I've just verified in 3.0.9 and wildcards are applied as specified in the documentation, when Text is not enabled. If your search term is 'test' then the SQL query will have the search term %test%. Literal % signs in your search term are escaped, so that if your search term was test% then the query would be for %test^%% escape ^.
There are a few things to remember. When searching WITHOUT Intermedia Text enabled the search will only match terms in the title and description of the item.
When, Intermedia Text is enabled, all of the content will be searched. However, as indicated in the documentation, the stem operator will be used. So if you search for 'test' the query is now a Text contains('$test') type query. The default operator is the '$' stem operator, which match terms that have the same linguistic root. So if your search term is 'test' it should match 'tests' or 'testing' or 'tested'. However, it will not match 'test1'. Please refer to the Intermedia Text documenation for more information on the stem operator and Text searching in general.

  • Performance/timeout searching on Oracle Portal 9.0.4.1.0

    Hi people
I have a customer with an application that among other things stores a database of articles from a weekly scientific magazine. As many scientific magazines articles from the same year are page numbered consecutively meaning that article #1 in the first issue starts with page #1 and so the page numbering continues all year.
I have a bunch of attributes on the article item such as:
    Year
    Volume
    Issue
    Page no.
    Abstract
    Title
    Authors
When performing a search using the Custom Search Portlet and only specifying page no. the search times out after about 60 seconds. Performing af free text search runs in about 10 seconds. There are about 10.000 articles in the database each consisting of 2 custom item types.
    The server setup is:
Infra: 3 GHz CPU, 4 Gb memory
Middletier: 3 GHZ CPU, 6 Gb memory
Should it not be possible to perform a search as described above or am I just overestimating the search engine i Oracle Portal?
The site can be seen here (all in danish tho): http://www.ugeskriftet.dk
The search page is here: http://lfappet.laeger.dk/portal/page?_pageid=33,14366310&_dad=portal&_schema=PORTAL
    Please advice
    Claus Jessing

Are you sure it is just the query, or is
overall performance an issue? The overall performance is most definately an issue. Maybe I'll get back to you when we have fixed that :-)
In regards to the indexes then we are using OracleAS Portal out of the box. Ie. WWSBR_CTX_THING_INDX, WWSBR_CTX_DOC_INDX etc. created using ctxcrind.sql. I have no control over the query as we are using the Custom Search portlet.

  • I perform a search, get results, find the message I was after. How do I locate this message within my (relatively) complex folder and subfolder structure?

    Hi,
I use structured subfolder system to keep my emails organized (hundreds and hundreds of folders).
When I perform a search, get a list of results and within this list I find the email I was after, HOW do I locate the message? In other words, how can I open the folder which contains that particular email?
Thank you in advance for your time and effort.

Not a perfect solution but maybe a workaround.

  • How can i perform a search on my external hard drive on my mac pro os x 10.9.2 ?

how can i perform a search on my external hard drive on my mac pro os x 10.9.2 ?

Mac OS X 10.9.2 is 12 years newer than 9.2.x.    You need to make sure that Spotlight has indexed the external hard drive by adding it and removing it from Apple menu -> System Preferences -> Spotlight -> Privacy.   Check the menu for it:
to determine if indexing is still going on, as it will say indexing.
Alternatively, you can use a non-Spotlight tool, such as:
    http://apps.tempel.org/FindAnyFile/
    http://www.devontechnologies.com/products/freeware/ - EasyFind
http://www.osxbytes.com/ - iFileX (note the MacUpdate link provided on osxbytes page has a Malware advertisement for MacKeeper, do not download).
http://www.barebones.com/ Textwrangler has a Search file for content, which works on any Text file.

  • The google feeling lucky app from the address bar is not working, a program called vshare performs a search instead and I am unable to restore the original function. please help

I do not know how but vshare, has been performing a search everytime I type something in the address bar that is not a complete website i.e. facebook instead of facebook.com
this is very annoying and I am unable to uninstall vshare, I have even tried uninstalling firefox and reinstalling it

I had this problem too, and just fixed it, and found a great website that helped.
    1. In Firefox type about:config in the address bar and press ENTER.
    2. Locate and double-click the entry for keyword.URL
    3. Set the value based on which search provider you would like to use for your address bar searches. Here are a few search strings you can use.
    Yahoo: http://search.yahoo.com/search?p=
    Ask: http://www.ask.com/web?q=
    Google: http://www.google.com/search?&q=
    ChaCha: http://search.chacha.com/search/query?searchwithguide=0&query=
    source: http://www.technipages.com/firefox-change-address-bar-search-provider.html
And if you want the I'm Feeling Lucky search, instead of just the Google page search, then put:
    http://www.google.com/search?ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&sourceid=navclient&gfns=1&q=
    instead of: http://www.google.com/search?&q=
I just did that, and it worked for me. I had to go through a bunch of the different options, but I found one that worked.

  • Performing sql queries in java without using java libraries

i wonder whether its possible to perform sql queries beginning from create table to updating queries without using the java sql library.
    has anyone written such code.

You could use JNI to talk to a native driver like the Oracle OCI driver. Doing this is either exiting or asking for trouble depending on your attitude to lots of low level bugs.

  • An error occurred attempting to perform the search. Faulty bluetooth?

So aside from the "Bluetooth Unavailable" error that a lot of users are experiencing, I've done so much searching on my specific issue. No answers so far. I've come to the forums for help and insight.
My bluetooth IS available. I have it set on discoverable. However, when I click to set up any device whatsoever in the Bluetooth Setup Assistant, 90% of the time, the error "An error occurred attempting to perform the search." appears next to a yellow triangle with an exclamation point inside. One in every 30 tries, it might pick up my cell phone or a bluetooth headset or a mouse. But the connection unpairs as soon as the setup process is complete. Almost all of the time, that error appears. Rarely will I get the message "No devices found." Also, my PDA and phone never see my Macbook as discoverable.
I have three months left on the original Apple warranty. It's a refurbished Macbook 2GHz Core Duo running 10.4.10 with 2 GB of RAM. I bought it 9 months ago from apple.com. Is this mostlikely an OS X problem with Tiger or an actual hardware malfunction with the bluetooth module? Has anyone else experienced this problem?
PS - I should mention that the same type of malfunction happens when I'm in Windows XP Professional in Bootcamp.

    Hi WizKidd,
    welcome to macbook forum.
try to reset PRAM and or PMU to refresh your Hardware including your bluetooth.
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=303319
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=2238
Also you can tun hardware test by starting using installer disk and press D key while it start up.
If those doesn't help, consult apple care or apple store and let them examine and have it fixed.
    Good Luck.

  • Bluetooth - "An error occurred attempting to perform the search"

    Hi all,
This has only happened for me with Tiger.
This has now happened twice. My bluetooth phones (Nokia & O2) sync beautifully for couple of months. Then I get "An error occurred attempting to perform the search". Isync then hangs, cannot be force quit and I have to power the machine off (holding down power button for 10 seconds to shut it down).
Apple tech support in Australia had not heard of the problem.
Running all latest firmware, software for bluetooth - that is not the problem.
What is strange: I create another account on the mac, log in as that account and the problem is not there - it all works perfectly.
Three options; (1) reinstall Tiger, (2) use test account to sync (this ***** as all my data is not in the test account, or (3) try and fix it...
Any one have any ideas??? It appears to be an account issue / account corruption affecting bluetooth, rather than a bluetooth issue
    17" Powerbook G4 1.67GHz   Mac OS X (10.4.6)

I should have tried this earlier - but I just deleted any plist file that had the word bluetooth in it. It appears to have worked and is now finding the phones and synching.
Next time I will try this - that is if the bluetooth preference list files keep corrupting

  • Performing a search within multiple .as files

In Flash CS4 is it possible to perform a search within
multiple .as files, or an entire project?
    thanks!

I'm don't know if that's possible on CS4, but you can search
    using the OS searching tools:
I'm not sure about Mac OS, but on Windows, you can click on
Start, Search, and under the Containing Text field, you can type in
'trace' (without quotes). Then click on the drop-down box under
    'Look In:' and select Browse...
Browse to the location of your project and select it, then
click the Search Now button to begin searching through the files
    there.
It will at least tell you which file(s) have trace in them.
Once you know that, then you can search through the file using CS4
to find the actual command. It would be much more convenient to
have that as a feature in CS4, but I don't know if it is.

  • Accessing raw text of TextFlow and performing a search

I am trying to figure out the best way to perform a search
within a TextFlow to locate a specific piece of text (either a word
    or set of words).
I have had a hard time figuring out how to actually gain
access to the raw text of the TextFlow that is loaded. Once that is
loaded, I need to be able to search through that text, find the
location of the text, and show that container.
Essentially add search capability to the Pagination example.
The only thing I can think of that seems like it may work
would be to export the TextFlow into an XML file, then perform the
search on the XML file. Once that is done, I would have to figure
out which position in the xml file the text was located, and load
    the container with that position....
Surely there is a better way?
    Thanks, Tim

I think so - here's how I'd reccomend approaching the
    problem.
Given a TextFlow I'd do a getFirstLeaf. That returns a
FlowLeafElement. I'd then look at the FlowLeafElement.text property
to access the text for matching. To advance to the next leaf
    element use FlowLeafElement.getNextLeaf.
You'll have to do some book keeping when you find a match to
figure out the absolute position of the beginning of the match.
Next step would be to use
    textFlow.flowComposer.findControllerIndexAtPosition to figure out
which container has the matched text.
Adding niceties you could search a paragraph at a time by
taking advantage of the limitElement parameter to getNextLeaf.
After calling getFirstLeaf call getParagraph to find the paragrah
and use that as the limit element. To advance to the next paragraph
use null as the limit element and call getParagraph again for the
    new limit element.
    Hope that helps.

  • Question about creating an SQL search

Hi, In the app I am developing the user can search one of my database tables by one or more of three fields. If a field is left blank is there anyway to set up an SQL statement so that a dummy search criteria is entered for that field? That probably isn't very clear, here example:
I have 3 fields: ID, Surname and Forname. Currently in my app code I am checking whether fields are empty, or if two are empty and one isn't etc, before constructing the appropriate SQL statement with the fields that are not empty. What I am after is something like this, so I can just have one SQL statement that can handle one or more of the fields being empty, for example if the ID and Forname search fields have something in them, but the Surname field is empty:
Select * from employees where ID = 2 AND Surname = 'ANY' AND Forname = 'Smith'
    Thanks

    Ushitaki,
Yes, that's a good point you are raising here. The NVL always evaluates both expressions and results in a full table scan.
However, your variant might be "evil" as well since you are also using one query to handle two situations: one where you'd want a index scan because a value was given and one where you'd want a full table scan because the user did not provide a value.
So if performance is a problem here, the best option probably is to dynamically construct the query, using binds, but have several different queries populating the library cache, each with its own optimal plan.
    Regards,
    Rob.
Here are some results from my test:

  • CRM IC Webclient - Massive Performance Problems Searching in Agent Inbox

    Hi Forum,
can somebody help me. We have massive Search Performance problems in Interaction Center Webclient in Agent Inbox. When agents searching, for example for open emails, the time to get a result takes approx. 2-3 minutes.
Thats absolute inadmissible and endangered the running business.
The queury reading the eMails from the workitem tables is very very slow.
Could somebody help me with ideas to solve this big performance problem. Have somebody the same problems?
Thank you very much in advance for any information.
We use Interaction Center Webclient on CRM Release 5.0
    Thorsten

Another aspect you could check is the following:
Analysis performed didn't show anything strange nor any high consumers
of the response time. The processing time occurs, since IC-Web on CRM 5
is a bit demanding for CPU power.
The only thing that could improve the performance a bit is the
<b>buffering of org structure</b>, which is currently switched off for
SALES and SERVICE scenarios as per table T77OMATTSC.
The report <b>HRBCI_ATTRIBUTES_BUFFER_UPDATE</b> is running regulary
however no scenario is being placed in the buffer to speed up

How to use this report, can be found back in the Reports own documentation and also in SAP HELP.
