Period for material

Dear all,
There's a material docs created in Sep, but in Oct, we reversed the docs, post to Sep wrongly, then it impact our statement in Sep, which is not allowed, then we need to reverse the reversed docs again in Sep, but today we hv open the Nov material period,can't post any documents in Sep now, so can you tell me how to solve this problem?

Hi,
Your Posting period open is November(11) now, So U can post only in October(10) and November(11) .This you can check in T.Code: MMRV.So You can not post in September(09) in MM side.In MM side you can post only current period and cureent minus one period.If really needed ask your FICO Consultant to post in FI Side by using OB52.
You can follow the SAP Note:487381 for your requirement also.

If you want to open previous period for reversal entry or additional entry
The following are steps for Opening previous period in MM :
1. Go to TCode SU01 (see OSS NOTES 487381)
2. Choose "change" tab with your loging Name
3. Choose "Parameter" tab
give Parameters MMPI_READ_NOTE with date format as YYYYMMDD
(say today 20100302)
4. SAVE.
5. Go to T-code MMPI
6. open the old periods which you want to post into,
Note :
the period opening will be valid for only for the particular day only.
7. Complete the posting you want to reverse or add
8. Go to MMPV to close the periods
Note :
If we enter the date or month in MMPV means we are opening that date or month by closing previous date or month
(Never use MMPV without completing the transaction in previous month)

Close period for material Master record error

my current period is 07 2010.
I want to close period 07 2010, and make new posting to period 08 2010.
but when i do the posting, system show error "Posting only possible in periods 2010/07 and 2010/06 in company code C999"
PS: C999 is the company code that contains the plant P999
And when i try to close the current period of material Master record by MMPV, system show below information :

Check in T.code: MMRV and see which period is open for ur Co.Code and back posting is allowed or not. If you are sure to open new period now of new posting to period 08, then
use t.code: MMPV ,
enter
Company code C999
Period to open 08
Fiscal Year 2010
Execute
( system will close the period last period 07 and automatically system open the new one 08)
Now try ur transaction.
if any problem, then check in FI Side:
Use t.code: OB52 and open the 08,2010 period in Account Types A, K, D,M, S and specially Account Type u201C+u201D which stands for valid for all accounts type and save. Better consult FICO consultant for OB52 step.

I found the problem
Fiscal year variant is V6 (oby6) and actual material period is 9 and should be 3 (MMRV)
I am in Development enviorement. Anyone can help me to fix this. , thanks and regards

Problem with MMPV(close period for material master records)

Hy,
I'm really stuck in this weird problem.
I have already open 04.2008 period in MMPV and in MIGO transaction I got this error message:
Document date lies in the future.
Posting period 004 2008 is not open.
What should I do?
Please, someone help me.

First check the date in MIGO transaction.... is it current date ?
                                                                              (April's )
and then
go to OBBP and check the posting period variant,
                       of your Company code..
Now, go to OB52 and check the periods, they should be in
                           year 2008 for your posting period variant..

Open Period for material master record

Hi gurús
We´d just create a new company code and plant. After the activation of ML we started to make some materiales movements, but the system show the error message "Posting only possible in period XXX".
Whe we opened the period through MMPV tcode system confirm us that the last period open is 06/2005. But the company code and plant was created after that date (11/2009).
How it is possible? From where the system is taking the date?

Hi,
See the date came as from which Company code your Company is Created, as well the Factory calender Might be Copied with the Calender and never Started the Update program. there are many reason's it happens.
So one thing As Your ABAPer to Try execute the program RMMMPERI upto today's Period. so that you can be able to do the process.
as Well as ABAPer to maintain background job through SM38 for program RMMMPERI in SAP so that you will never found the place to update the periods per month.

Automate the opening of MM periods
How can you automate the monthly opening of MM periods (transaction MMPV - program RMMMPERI) with
SM36?
RMMMPERI accepts a period/year or a date.
If you enter a date the period is derived by it.
1. create a variant and check the attribute 'selection variable' for the parameter date. Then click the button 'Selection variables' and set the current date. Every time this variant is used the parameter DATE is filled with the current date.
2. create a job for RMMMPERI with the variant created in the preceding step. Set it as periodic.
If you're not using a fiscal year variant simply schedule it as monthly (to be executed the first day of the month).
If you are using a fiscal year variant you'd have to define a calendar with only the first day of each period defined as working
day and use it in the periodicity restrictions.
Another possibility:
Write a very simple ABAP which run daily to check if the period has changed and submit RMMMPERI.

Setting period for MM record (about invalid period)

I create a new company code "Y001" and try to assign MM periods to the company code.
When I try to customize MM period using t-cds,MMPI and OMSY, but I take the error "You have entered an invalid period for company code Y001" in both of them.
Now I set :
･Fiscal year variant(t-cd:OB29/OB37): V3
･Variant for open posting periods: Y001
･Open and close posting periods: Y001 ＋ 02 2009 12 9999 2 2009 12 9999 ADMIN
I try to set:
･Material Management view on company codes(OMSY or MMPI):2009 02
Do you have knowledge of the error? And What's an invalid period?
I am just starting to study ECC, so I have only poor knowledge about it.

Hi,
First goto OBBP t.code and choose your company code and check what is the posting period variants, then goto OKKP t.code and choose your company code and click details button , where you can find fiscal year variant , if it is V3 means april - march.
Now check in OB52 t.code choose your posting period variant (which is in OBBP) check the period open, it must be 02-2009.

Check the reports,
MCP3,MCPM - for the actual production happened for a period,you can get it daywise for any product.
MCRP,MCP6,MCRE - Actual consumption of materials during a period for production.
MB51 - you can get the list of 201 movement(In case if any material is issued against cost center).
Check and revert back.

Report for material list

hi,
i want a material list for which if i specify a period i will get materials with
a)No goods reciept
b)No stock or material movement(issue/transfer posting etc).
c)no sales or shipping.
should have happened for the materials for that period.
if no standard report exists can you tell me the algoritthm.

"Error determining planning periods for calendar " when running a program

Hi,
When i am running a program with date range say "01/05/2011" to "30/06/2011",the program is executing successfully without any error. When i am executing the same program with date range as a) "01/05/2009" to "30/06/2011" and b)"01/05/2008" to "30/06/2011" the program is failing with error as "Error determining planning periods for calendar". Can anyone suggest me what i should do to avoid the failure of the program with above date ranges also.

Error message 61123:"Error determining planning periods for calendar &".The PPC planning calendar specified in the material master MRP 2 view for the material is incorrectly.
The planning calendar periods are insufficiently maintained for the planning calendar used.
Check the period of planning calendar in MD26 and generate the correct period.You can avoid the problem in several ways:
Maintain the planning calendar far enough in the future (at least until beyond the end of the planning horizon).
Also check any demand is lies beyond the validity period of planning calendar.
Reduction of the planning horizon of MRP also can control such issue, as MRP planning horizon lies in an area in which the planning calendar is no longer maintained

Batch Management Indicator not getting set for material master

Hi,
In one of the material we need to mark the Batch Management Indicator in Material MAster. We had removed all the stocks from the material. But still we are getting error, Stock exists for the material in Plant XXX and Sloc YYY.
I checked in MARD table and MMBE that for this maaterial there are no stock for said Sloca and Plant.
One thing which I noticed in the Material Master and MARDH table that there exists some stock in Previous persiod for the said Sloc and Plant.
Need to know is this error is due to stock shown in previous period. Why system is checking the previous period stock.
How can we resolve our issue and check this Indicator.
Please let me know as earliest as possible.

Refer OSS Note 30656 - Change base unit of measure/batch mngt requirement
Following are the details of this note;
Symptom
When maintaining a material master record, you change the base unit of measure or the batch management requirement indicator or the valuation category. The system then tells you that this change is not possible since stocks still exist. However, no stocks are shown for the material in the stock overview.
Reason and Prerequisites
The message that stocks still exist refers not only to stocks in the current period, but also to stocks in the previous period.
The reason for checking previous period stocks is that postings can also be made to the previous period when entering goods movements. This would result in inconsistencies if the base unit of measure had meanwhile been changed.
Solution
Please check whether stocks still exist for the previous period by displaying, for example, the plant stock view or storage location stock view of the material. You do this by selecting "Extras -> Previous period -> Prev. pd SLoc. stock or Prev. pd plant stock".
If previous period stocks exist, you can make a withdrawal posting as follows:
1. Post the same amount to current period stock (for example, using movement type 561) so that previous period stock and current period stock are identical.
2. Make a withdrawal posting in the previous period for the stock together with posting date (for example, using movement type 562).
You can now try again to change the base unit of measure or the batch management requirement indicator.
Since the posting of the previous period values to zero is identical with posting to the stocks of the current period, you should reverse the above stock postings (i.e. the stock from the previous period should be booked in again) to make sure that the stock values from the previous and the current periods correspond to the state before the change. Please note, however, that the postings are then carried out using the changed master data from the current period (e.g. account determination, etc.)

OMX4 - FBN1 - Number range for Material document and FI document

47 - is for FI document number range in Material ledger FBN1. OMX4 gives number range for Material document. My question is how big the number range must be? Since thousands of Materials involved, I couldn't imagin this?
Anybody knows, how to determine the size of no. ranges in Material Ledger configuration? SAP simply says, check no. ranges whether it meets the requirement....
I don't expect an answer again, just check your business, how many transactions would be in a period, which is not quantifiable now?
I would like to understand this from somebody's experience of using insufficient or excessive no. ranges, especially in this area.

What is the number range you are using? Year Dependent or Independent?
When you don't know the document number consumption pattern you should use Year dependent number range in both OMX4 & FBN1. Observing this for a month will give a rough Idea and observing for a Quarter will give you a fair Idea and the result for a year gives almost near to accurate consumption of number ranges.
The generation of documents is dependent on the number of materials and Profit centers involved. As much as possibe use Summarization at profit center level when posting to FI. This will reduce the number of documents and line items that are getting generated.

CO88-Error :Perform the planned price change for material

Hi Experts,
While running CO88 i get this error. "Perform the planned price change for material ". My material is manage at S and it doesn't have any marked cost. The status is FR and no other status on cost etimate for the article are active. what i shoul do? why if i run the PP order with KO88 i don't have any error?
Please help i'm facing the closing period.

If dynamic price change is active in your system the first posting in the new period of this material tries to
- release a future cost estimate of that period OR
- change the price to the future price in accounting view
(if the future price date is reached)
Unfortunately this dynamic price change does not work in order settlement. Therefore you are asked to perform the price change first by t-code CKME (or CK24).
If you are using price determination control 3, any price change or release should always be the first transaction in a new period to avoid any inconsistencies.
The dynamic price release will only release the price with transactions which involve material movement and this is not the case by posting invoices and order settlements.
if you are in period 12/2009 then a settlement in 12/2009 does not require the release cost estimate of 01/2010.
But if you are already in 01/2010 therefore settlement in 12/2009 is a posting into the previous period. This will change also data of the current period. Therefore the cost estimate has to be released first.
Another option, if you don't want to receive this message, would be to change this message from Error to Warning (check note 434752).

SAP query for Material pricing group changes in material.

Dear all,
I'm trying to generate a query for Material Pricing group changes in material. For that I've to retrieve data from follwing three tables MVKE, CDHDR & CDPOS.
Firstly while generating infoset -
I tried it by joining tables MVKE & CDHDR, but system is not allowing it, also table CDPOS can't bejoined.
Then I tried by reading dirctly from table MVKE and then adding additional fields in it. query created using this infoset is giving the output, however it's giving only 1 entry per material entered in input.
for multiple entries in output for MPG changes in same material I tried creating addtional structure for table CDHDR & CDPOS but again I'm getting only 1 entry per material.
please suggest how I can get MPG changes done in specified time period for a material.

Check the report RSSCD100 and run it for object MAT_FULL for table MVKE. Use this report as a template for your own development.
