  • Lenovo personal cloud forwards to wrong URL where there is no access. How to change this?

    Hello,
    Everything works fine when you invite people to your personal cloud.. You're given the Username and Password and the group in the invitation email.
    To access this Personal Cloud from a Web browser, use the following URL:
    https://xxxxxxxx.mylenovoemc.com
    Here's the information you need to join:
           Cloud Name:   xxxxxxx
           Username:  test1
           Password:  xxxxxxxx
    This part is fine.
    Now when we go to the login page and it asks the username and password and press LOGIN It forwards to management page. Here the account has no access, cause we dont want the new account to have any management access. There is also no place you can go from there. No links to share folder or anything so basicly the account is stuck there.
    https://xxxxxxxx.mylenovoemc.com/manage/manage.html?cat=all
    And the real url should be:
    https://xxxxxxx.mylenovoemc.com/manage/foldercontent.html?folder=test1
    This url works fine for the account for image views etc, but the new account has no way of knowing of this account How can we change the management url to the working url when customer clicks LOGIN ?
    Best regards,
    Miikka

    Hello miikkakolari
    when remote users access your cloud via the personal cloud address, the homepage that you setup under Home Page Settings in the web interface will load.  The default should be the .../manage/index.html
    This will allow remote users to access the default public landing page where they can login to access secured content or if admin level login and manage the device.
    Usually when the personal cloud address goes to the admin console login, it means you either have Home Page turned off or you have set the home page to an address that requires admin access.

    i accidently downloaded something that made my webcam flash on spuradically even once i deleted it. when i restarted my computer it got stuck at the white loading screen with the grey apple and wont go past there..what is wrong? will applecare cover this?  my computer also slowed down drastically before it stopped working..thanks! HELP PLEASE!

    Take each of these steps that you haven't already tried. Stop when the problem is resolved.
    Step 1
    The first step in dealing with a boot failure is to secure your data. If you want to preserve the contents of the startup drive, and you don't already have at least one current backup, you must try to back up now, before you do anything else. It may or may not be possible. If you don't care about the data that has changed since your last backup, you can skip this step.
    There are several ways to back up a Mac that is unable to boot. You need an external hard drive to hold the backup data.
         a. Boot into the Recovery partition, or from a local Time Machine backup volume (option key at startup.) When the OS X Utilities screen appears, launch Disk Utility and follow the instructions in this support article, under “Instructions for backing up to an external hard disk via Disk Utility.”
    b. If you have access to a working Mac, and both it and the non-working Mac have FireWire or Thunderbolt ports, boot the non-working Mac in target disk mode. Use the working Mac to copy the data to another drive. This technique won't work with USB, Ethernet, Wi-Fi, or Bluetooth.
    c. If the internal drive of the non-working Mac is user-replaceable, remove it and mount it in an external enclosure or drive dock. Use another Mac to copy the data.
    Step 2
    Press and hold the power button until the power shuts off. Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed to boot, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards. Use a different keyboard and/or mouse, if those devices are wired. If you can boot now, one of the devices you disconnected, or a combination of them, is causing the problem. Finding out which one is a process of elimination.
    If you've booted from an external storage device, make sure that your internal boot volume is selected in the Startup Disk pane of System Preferences.
    Step 3
    Boot in safe mode. Note: If FileVault is enabled, or if a firmware password is set, or if the boot volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Post for further instructions.
    Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, and some things won’t work at all, including wireless networking on certain Macs.
    The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
    When you boot in safe mode, it's normal to see a dark gray progress bar on a light gray background. If the progress bar gets stuck for more than a few minutes, or if the system shuts down automatically while the progress bar is displayed, your boot volume is corrupt and the drive is probably malfunctioning. In that case, go to Step 5.
    If you can boot and log in now, empty the Trash, and then open the Finder Info window on your boot volume ("Macintosh HD," unless you gave it a different name.) Check that you have at least 9 GB of available space, as shown in the window. If you don't, copy as many files as necessary to another volume (not another folder on the same volume) and delete the originals. Deletion isn't complete until you empty the Trash again. Do this until the available space is more than 9 GB. Then reboot as usual (i.e., not in safe mode.)
    If the boot process hangs again, the problem is likely caused by a third-party system modification that you installed. Post for further instructions.
    Step 4
    Sometimes a boot failure can be resolved by resetting the NVRAM.
    Step 5
    Launch Disk Utility in Recovery mode (see Step 1.) Select your startup volume, then run Repair Disk. If any problems are found, repeat until clear. If Disk Utility reports that the volume can't be repaired, the drive has malfunctioned and should be replaced. You might choose to tolerate one such malfunction in the life of the drive. In that case, erase the volume and restore from a backup. If the same thing ever happens again, replace the drive immediately.
    This is one of the rare situations in which you should also run Repair Permissions, ignoring the false warnings it may produce. Look for the line "Permissions repair complete" at the end of the output. Then reboot as usual.
    Step 6
    Reinstall the OS. If your Mac was upgraded from an older version of OS X, you’ll need the Apple ID and password you used to upgrade.
    Step 7
    Repeat Step 6, but this time erase the boot volume in Disk Utility before installing. The system should automatically reboot into the Setup Assistant. Follow the prompts to transfer your data from a Time Machine or other backup.
    Step 8
    This step applies only to older Macs (not current models) that have a logic-board ("PRAM") battery. Both desktop and portable Macs used to have such a battery. The logic-board battery is separate from the main battery of a portable. A dead logic-board battery can cause a gray screen at boot. Typically the boot failure will be preceded by loss of the startup disk and system clock settings. See the user manual for replacement instructions. You may have to take the machine to a service provider to have the battery replaced.
    Step 9
    If you get this far, you're probably dealing with a hardware fault. Make a "Genius" appointment at an Apple Store to have the machine tested. If you can't get to an Apple Store, go to another authorized service provider.

    Hi Hezequias,
    You can get the ProjectModifiedDate column in MSP_EPMProject_userView in the Reporting DB where you can
    get the data based on the projectUID.
    The "last saved" date in the draft DB (be aware that querying in the draft DB is not supported by MS).
    For the "last modified by", I think it is not stored in any place.
    But you can develop custom code upon publishing the project (Event BeforePublish), writing the current
    date and username automatically into a custom enterprise field.
    Hope this helps,

  • I got a message that I should download an upgrade to Firefox 3.6.16. So I hit the download button and it said "Downloading the update" and "Connecting to the udate server". And it gets stuck there. How can I get past it?

    I have an iMac OS 10.4. I downloaded Firefox a while ago and I had no real problems with it. Then I got this message that I should update Firefox to 3.6.16. So I hit the "Download" button and I get the "Software Update" which says "Downloading the update" with a progress bar and below it , it says "Connecting to the download server". But it gets stuck there. The progress bar has gone to the end of bar. How can I get hooked up to the Update server?

    That is because that Firefox 3.6.x version has been released later than the Firefox 4 version.
    If you have problems with updating then easiest is to download the full version and trash the currently installed version to do a clean install of the new version.
    Download a new copy of the Firefox program and save the DMG file to the desktop
    * Firefox 4.0.x: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all.html
    * Firefox 3.6.x: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-older.html
    * Trash the current Firefox application to do a clean (re-)install
    * Install the new version that you have downloaded
    Your profile data is stored elsewhere in the [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox Firefox Profile Folder], so you won't lose your bookmarks and other personal data.

    I have to take this requirment in sap .
    So i can create the reports and find in a month employee worked which which PERSONALSUBAREA.
    thanks
    Sandeep

    Hi Sandeep,
    You need to configure an action type Job/Org change (Also called Org reassignment) If it is not available and maintain the following infotypes:
    1. Actions infotype (IT0000)- this infotype has the action reason. configure the acton reason appropriately to distinguish change in personnel subarea with other action reasons.
    2. Organizational Assigment( IT0001) - this infotype has the personnel subarea ans should be changed accordingly while running the Job/Org change action.
    3.Planned working time( IT0007) - this infotype has the planned work schedule and in case there are difference in working hours, you might have to change this accordingly.
    4. Basic Pay infotype (IT0008) - this infotype has the basic pay information and in case there is different pay then this should be updated.
    I hope this helps. Please let me know in case you need any further help.
    Regards,

    Step 2
    If the startup process stops at a blank gray screen with no Apple logo or spinning "daisy wheel," then the startup volume may be full. If you had previously seen warnings of low disk space, this is almost certainly the case. The easiest way to deal with the problem is to boot from an external drive, or else to use either of the techniques in Steps 1b and 1c to mount the internal drive and delete some files. According to Apple documentation, you need at least 9 GB of available space on the startup volume (as shown in the Finder Info window) for normal operation.
    Step 3
    Sometimes a boot failure can be resolved by resetting the NVRAM.
    Step 4
    If you use a wireless keyboard, trackpad, or mouse, replace or recharge the batteries. The battery level shown in the Bluetooth menu item may not be accurate.
    Step 5
    If there's a built-in optical drive, a disc may be stuck in it. Follow these instructions to eject it.
    Step 6
    Press and hold the power button until the power shuts off. Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed to boot, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards. • Apple wont change my iPad with a bad screen :( Anything I can do?

    Today I received an email from apple that says my iPad "meets apple specifications for performance, usability, and functionality" even though it has a giant piece of dust under the screen (not the wallpaper, it's there when the screen is off). I am really upset about this especially considering all I've gone through to get a good one: I first got my iPad from the apple online store at the end of may, and noticed it had dust under the screen which made it look like a dead pixel. I'm in San Angelo and the closest store is in San Antonio, 194 miles away. I'm also on training status on the Air Force (Goodfellow AFB) and getting out of the base is extremely hard. I finally got permission and found somebody to lend me their car last week, and so I headed on the ridiciously long trip. After arriving to the La Cantera Parkway store I went in and they exchanged it for a refurbished one. When I go back to the base I see that it has a giant piece of dust under the screen on the lower right and is scratched on the upper left and on the dock connector. So i just wasted more than $100 on a trip for nothing. I call apple customer service and they say they will send me a box to ship it to them. I receive it and then I get my roommate to do it, because it's basically impossible for me because I can't bring mail to the facility where I am trained, and I can't just go where I want on the weekdays, and the only time I can actually walk around the base, on after duty hours, the post office is closed. Today I received two emails: one that says they received the iPad and another a few minutes ago saying it meets their performance so they wont change it. I can't even talk to customer service because they are closed and I cant in the morning because I have to wake up at 3:50am and cant have my cellphone till 5:00pm, by that time they'll have shipped it. This is really frustating, is there anything I can do? I'm thinking to sell it at a loss since exchanging it is just a giant hassle.

    Really sorry to hear about your story .
    Have you tried to call them again sometime? Try to express your anger about the issue and force them to find you a solution. I think Apple is nice and they do listen to their customers. You can always request to talk to their supervisor/manager. I am sure they will listen and find you a solution.
    I was once succesful at nagging them to exchange my Macbook Pro faulty logic board (which costs about $2000AU) even my waranty is expried (2 years after I bought my MBP). And yes, they did it for me, really nicely.
    Good luck and keep us updated,

    i have just got an ipad mini 2 and i am trying to back it up however it gets to step 4 then keeps saying syncing ipad but now wont change, what shall i do?

    Hi Gavinchick,
    Thanks for visiting Apple Support Communities.
    Start with these tips if your iPad mini is stuck on "syncing" when you try to back it up:
    Update to the latest version of iTunes.
    Plug the device directly into a high-power USB 2.0 port on the computer. If possible, use a USB port on the back of the computer.
    Avoid plugging the device into a keyboard, display, or standalone hub. The USB ports on these accessories may be low-power or only offer USB 1.x connections.
    If you are using an accessory, remove the accessory and connect the device to the computer using only the Apple 30-pin to USB Cable or Lightning to USB Cable.
    If you have access to additional Apple 30-pin to USB Cable or Lightning to USB Cables, try testing with another if the first one doesn't work.
    Restart your computer and device. To restart your device:
    Hold the power button until "slide to power off" appears. Slide to power off your device. When it is off, press the Sleep/Wake button to turn it back on.
    Disconnect all USB devices from your computer, except for your keyboard and mouse. Then reconnect the iOS device. If the issue is resolved, reconnect other USB devices, testing after each connection.
    You can find these steps and more information here:

  • My CD drive wont change to region 2 again even though i have 1 change left, any ideas?

    My mac wont change the region code from 1 to 2 and every time i try to set the region even after i have unlocked it and click change the window with the map just closes and nothing happens and when i try again the region is still stuck on 1, but it says i still have one change left

    I see that no one knows the answer to this question, or prepaid customers don't get Verizon customer service help unless they dial an 800 number. I will post the outcome when I switch my current phone out and activate the new one. I don't hate Verizon or I wouldn't activate a new phone to their service, so even if I don't get the outcome that I want, I will just post what the process was like.
    I think it will be easy, but they probably will require another payment even though my next payment isn't due until the 12th. I'm not a pessimist, nor do I go around complaining on discussion boards. I just feel that if they weren't going to charge me, a customer service agent would have gladly replied. I still think prepaid is the way to go, and I've never had problems with Verizon, so if I do get charged, I will use my experience to help other customers.

  • Portege M700 wont change screen orientation

    I installed the webcam driver for the M700 and each time I install it, I recieve the same error message:
    "Webcam driver open fail - Please restart camera or computer."
    I've reinstalled the drivers numerous times, and it still doesn't work.
    Therefore, I tried the msconfig method, and disabled all start up processes, and then reenabled them.
    The webcam displays the same error message, and now the screen wont change orientation when I swivel the screen.

    Regarding the error:
    *Webcam driver open fail - Please restart camera or computer*
    First of all please ensure that you are using the latest BIOS version.
    If not, update it.
    Furthermore access the BIOS settings and set it back to the default pressing the F9 button.
    Dont forget to save the changes if you would leave the BIOS.
    Additionally and webcam driver update would be advisable too
    Someone has posted this solution:
    +Shut down your computer and restart it, go to the boot screen should be F2 or F12, There is an option at the bottom of the screen that says something like load defaults or just defaults F9 on my system, Click yes to reloading defaults and save and exit, the camera should work fine after that.+
    Check it out

  • JTree CellRenderer wont change colors

    Hi
    I am using a custom CellRenderer that extends DefaultTreeCellRenderer for showing a dataobject as a label. The problem I am facing is that in my getTreeCellRendererComponent method I try to set the foreground and background colors of the text, but it wont swap.
    Here is what I tried:
    setForeground(selected ? getTextSelectionColor() : getTextNonSelectionColor());
    setBackground(selected ? backgroundSelectionColor : backgroundNonSelectionColor);
    The problem is that it wont change no matter what. Any ideas?
    My whole code looks like this:
    import java.awt.*;
    import javax.swing.*;
    import javax.swing.tree.*;
    public class CategoryRenderer extends DefaultTreeCellRenderer implements TreeCellRenderer
    public CategoryRenderer()
    setOpaque(true);
    public Component getTreeCellRendererComponent(JTree tree, Object value, boolean selected, boolean expanded, boolean leaf, int row, boolean hasFocus)
    setForeground(/*selected ? getTextSelectionColor() : getTextNonSelectionColor()*/Color.WHITE);
    setBackground(/*selected ? backgroundSelectionColor : backgroundNonSelectionColor*/Color.BLACK);
    TCategory cat = (TCategory)value;
    setText(cat.getName());
    return this;
    }

    Hi
    I am using a custom CellRenderer that extends
    DefaultTreeCellRenderer for showing a dataobject as a
    label. The problem I am facing is that in my
    getTreeCellRendererComponent method I try to set the
    foreground and background colors of the text, but it
    wont swap.Is there a reason you want to handle this yourself instead of letting the superclass do it for you? Unless you want non-standard selection colors, you would simply do this:
    public Component getTreeCellRendererComponent(
            JTree tree,
            Object value,
            boolean selected,
            boolean expanded,
            boolean leaf,
            int row,
            boolean hasFocus)
        super.getTreeCellRenderedComponent(tree, value, selected, expanded, leaf, row, hasFocus);
        TCategory cat = (TCategory)value;
        setText(cat.getName());
        return this;

    I'm not able to run a test myself, right? I'm definitely going back to the repair store tomorrow!
    Wrong!  Check out KB Article:  Intel-based Macs: Using Apple Hardware Test
    Personally, I would not be running no test.  Apple has a 90 day warranty on all their repairs.  Return your computer to the repair shop but this time.......

  • Drive region wont change even though i think it can

    so my drive region wont change when i put a DVD in. i know that there is still 3 changes left, because when i try to play a DVD in DVD Player, i click "file", "get disc info", "regions" tab. (it shows a region map) down where it says "drive region changes left" there is a 3 after it. so does anyone know how to fix this? thx

    Hello MrBigshot,
    It sounds like you are wanting to change the icon of the Applications folder you have in the Dock. By default the folder is shown as a Stack and so it shows you the first application icon alphabetically in as the icon in the Dock. You can make it have the Application folder icon by changing it to display as a Folder instead:
    Display as - Displays the icon in the Dock as the folder's actual icon or as a stack of icons of the folder contents.
