Photoshop problem, novice requires help please!!

Good morning
I hope I am on the right page here. I am trying to install Adobe Photoshop 2.0 onto my Vista Windows 2000 laptop.
I have tried many times and have been given 2 seperate unlocking codes, but for some reason these codes are not being accepted and a fatal error message like below comes onto my screen.......

Address 757ecb8b
Now I'm no techno whizz and I have no idea how to solve this problem. Please could anyone out there provide some advice?

Do you mean Photoshop CS2 or Photoshop Elements 2.0?
They are both old.

Quick time 7.1.3 problem...help please...

I recently installed Quick time version 7.1.3...and iTunes 7 onto my computer. I have since tried to load a game that I recently purchased for my child (DK's Milo and the Magical Stones). It does not work. (The message that I get says "Director Player Error. Property not found. # duration") I e-mailed the manufacturer and they stated that I need to use the version of Quick time that is on the game disk (not quite sure which version it is since it will not allow me to load it). The old version will not load because it recognizes that I have a newer version of it on my computer. And if I could accomplish this...iTunes will work now without Quick time 7 now...so it is pointless. Help please! This must be happening to a lot of people I imagine...

Okay, let's try getting a crash log for itunes and sending it to the Apple Engineers.
Typically, you'll need to configure Dr. Watson on your PC in order to generate crash logs. Windows start menu -> Run. Type in "cmd". Hit return. At the prompt in the command line window that comes up, type in
drwtsn32 -i
And hit return.
This will create crash logs in Documents And Settings\All Users\Application Data\Microsoft\Dr Watson\. There'll usually be a file in here called "drwtsn32.log"prior to collecting the itunes crash log, delete any existing crash logs in there. (we want to make sure we send the correct crash log.)
Launch itunes, collect the crash log, and send it to [email protected]
In the email:
(1) state the precise version number of itunes that you're using.
(2) include the URL to this thread so that the person who gets the email has some context, but also give as much information about the context of the crashing as you can.
I sent off this morning and am awaiting a reply. As soon as I hear back I will update this posting.

I did that and it is currently whirring away, had over 16000 emails as everything got imported when I set emails up (only had this computer 5 days). So will see what happens when it stops doing whatever it is doing. Sorry if I appear stupid but first Mac I have owned so everything a bit new. Have managed to get most things working correctly just can't sort this BT email problem out. Will report back later!

2.2.1 problems - can anyone help please?

I downloaded this new update last night and now I cannot sync music with my 2ng gen ipod touch. If I download a game from IT store I can sync this but it does not recognise any changes to my music folders etc. I have tried restoring ipod touch to factory setting (as suggested in previous topics) but when I sync it it is only recognising games and photos - I now have no music on ipod!! Can anyone help please!!??

Have tried:
1. iTunes restore repeatedly - it never finishes and I get error 1604
2. Tried alternative usb ports
3. Tried alternative pcs - both xp and vista
4. Uninstalled itunes, cleared registry, rebooted and reinstalled itunes
Still no change. If I went into Apple and booked a Genius appointment could I pay £140 for a new phone?

Photoshop Elements 2.0 Help Please!

I just installed Photoshop Elements 2.0 and when I go to open it I get an error message saying that the program "Could not initialize Photoshop Elements because the scratch disks are full. This is definately NOT because of my computer's processing power, which runs off of XP has 3 Gigs of ram a 1.5TB hard drive (for my C: drive) and runs off of a 3.2 GHz microprocessor (so it's fairly speedy). I used to have photoshop on my old drive, now my backup (D:) drive, but I recently uninstalledit and reinstalled the program, using the disc, onto my new drive. I've tried cleaning up (using CCleaner) and defragmenting my drive, but nothing seems to work. Please help me out here.

P.S. I don't know if this is an occuring problem on any of the other editions of Elements, but if it is, I'm sure it can probably be solved in the same way, so even if you don't have the 2.0 edition, any feedback will be greatly appreciated.

Elements 2 is a very old program but you need to ask in the Elements forum.

Dreadful Installation Mess requires help please!

I told you I was techno-challenged!
The reconditioned G4 below came with just the two OS.
I have successfully installed Pagemaker 7 and Photoshop in Classic and they appeared to run without problems.
I have subsequently tried to install my two printers using original CDs:
HP Deskjet 930C
Samsung ML6060 Laser
and my Lide80 Scanner
... with three results.
a) Neither printer is available in chooser, OS9.2.2
b) Neither will instal on OSX Tiger (in fact the computer switches from OSX to OS9 when I try).
c) I now have freeze-up when I go into Classic.
It seems there is a conflict somewhere although both installation CDs state that they can be used with both systems.
HP say that a driver is already installed on Tiger.
Where do I go from here please?
I have DiskWarrior and can also zap Pram if you think that might help but it won't install the printers of course.
Forgive my ignorance in these matters and thanks for any help.

Try booting into OS 9 with Extensions Off. To do that, boot or restart the machine into OS 9, immediately press the Shift key, keep it held down until you get the "Extensions Off" message on the Welcome screen.
If it boots okay that way, then try booting with Mac OS All as the selected extension set. To do that, boot or restart into OS 9, immediately press and hold down the Spacebar, keep it held down. Extensions Manager should open just before extensions would normally start to load. At that point, select Mac OS All as the selected set in the pulldown menu by that name in the Extensions Manager window, and resume the startup.
Since your OS's appear to be on different partitions, provided your G4 is an (AGP) or later model you can use Startup Manager to select which OS to boot the machine to during startup -

Photoshop is really broken, help please

hi, i have had a problem for a while now and i am not really sure why.
My problem is using the brush tool in Photoshop, while i am using it, it is fine, there are no problems but when i unclick to stop drawing on my trackpad and try to to scroll using two fingers on my trackpad nothing happens, my artwork doesn't move until i them command click back into the photoshop window, it then goes crazy and does all of the scrolling i tried to do before i command clicked back in.
The same sort of thing is happening with a lot of the other tools, when i use the spot healing brush the area selected stays the dark grey colour until i command click back into photoshop then it will heal the area.
The lasso tool shows the selection but does not start the marching ants until i command click again. The polygon lasso tool lags behind clicks, for example, when i click nothing happens, i then click again and nothing will happen, when i click for the third time the first two dots then connect, when i click again the next dots will connect but will never connect to the last dot until i click i join the shape up and click once more, which then makes the shape disappear.
I am having the same sort of problem with the clone stamp tool, the history brush, the eraser, the blur, sharpen, smudge, dodge, burn, sponge tools, i guess any tool that has a brush size. and all of the lasso tools. All of the other tools work fine to my knowledge.
I think it has something to do with apples track pad, today i tried using a mouse and it worked fine, i could draw a line and then scroll with the little ball in the apple mouse and it worked fine, but when i drew a line on my trackpad then tried to scroll with the mouse it didn't do anything until i command clicked. i then tried to click with the mouse and use the trackpad to scroll and that also worked fine.
Im currently using photoshop CC 2014 but i also had these issues in photoshop CC and i am pretty sure in photoshop CS6.
I am using a macbook pro retina 15 these are the specs

i also had the same problem with my 2012 Macbook pro 15.
i have searched for an answer to this but i can't seem to find anything on the internet, i had uninstalled and reinstalled photoshop, i have reset all of the tool preferences, and deleted all of photoshops preferences when that didn't do anything.
any help would be very much appreciated

I'd start by checking the drivers for the trackpad are up to date if there are such things on a Mac.

Major start-up problems on IMac - Help, please

My IMac, new in Nov. 2008 and running OS 10.5.5 has been having trouble starting up and staying running over the past 10 days or so. I frequently get freeze-ups and get the grey screen with the flashing folder with a question mark during start-up attempts. I have tried various remedies I got on forums or in the Everything Mac manual including:
unplug and restart
remove peripherals and restart
safe boot
Reset PRAM
Reselect Start-up Disk
Permissions Repair through Disk Utility
Verify Disk through Disk Utility
I ran the hardware test and it said the hardware was OK.
By doing one or another of these methods I can generally get the machine going again (sometimes very slowly and after a few tries), but the freeze-up and restart problems are persisting and getting worse. Today I tried to reboot using the Installation Disk, but it just ejected the disk.
I have Windows XP running with Paralels - don't use it often. Last time I tried it said something about a Fatal Error.
I have backed up most of my important data. I was planning to buy an external hard drive to back up the rest, but I'm not sure I'll be able to complete this at the rate things are going.
Advice, please? Should I just break down and take it to the Apple Store?

I wanted you to know I have been using Apple computers for over 2 decades now and this iMac was the biggest headache EVER!..it would even turn ME to a PC but I have other plans.How many times I had to carry this thing 15 blocks and then they had the NERVE to hand it back to me,once all they did was reinstall the software, I could have done THAT AT HOME!..once the manager of the store hands it back to me,"ALL PROBLEMS SOLVED"!..well they were not..from day one, this was a "LEMON" and no one seems to care, not one person I speak to, not one person in that store....I know computers pretty well, I don't know HOW to write programs but anything other than that, people come to TONY with their problems before Apple Genius bar..what a JOKE that turned out to be!..so here I sit with an iMac,the insurance had run out the day the HARD DRIVE of this iMac decides to stop working...I have NEVER in my life had a dard drive break completely because I am not a heavy user of my computer, no games..and now it's down to emails and my blogs..Apple has changed me but in the wrong direction sadly..I am and always will be an Apple person...I can visit ALL my old Apple comp0uters because when I get a new one, I give my neighbors the old ones..they are STILL WORKING lemom iMac just to check emails and see if I can get it to work but I will tell you the bad sign,very first year I had it, I threw out the box it came in,I live in NYC and as I am taking a walk, a guy is throwing out the box to the SAME iMac..and THEN came the discussion with him about the numerous PROBLEMS On the NEW iMAC!!..I knew right there ,besides me knowing already, it was one big lemon I was stuck with till the end...well the END has finally,thank the gods, come!...and my next computer will be an Apple but not for STYLE, I always went for their great design but Apple has their head so far up an appendage and all about this iPad and iPhone and then the computers come next....believe me, when they sell that many iPhones and iPads...little is done for the real computer customers..and I have NEVER used a cell phone, never had the use for it, so NO iPhone and no iPad cause i love my Kindle...but I will tell you ,I am designing my next Apple computer and it will be that TOWER and then any size screen,maybe two for some reason...and all wireless if possible..but that tower is the ONLY way to go for me but I will use it "low end" not for a business and it's not that ugly and can always be put on the floor BUT YOU DESIGN AND TELL THEM, what you want in it, so you have total comtrol..the screen does NOT even have to be an Apple...but money money drives this company now, while in the past it was the true happy customer THAT MATTERED!! no more...hope you stay with Apple, get a PC(borrow one) and work with it, if you have not cause this iMac is NOT the way an Apple computer should act and turn you off to our community...and that's the other thing, Apple users, used to be a "community" cause we were the "small company that didn't make it"!...so we all stuck it out for so many years....helped each other out

T500 overheating problems - Novice needs help

Like for some others in this forum, my Thinkpad T500 is overheating.
Here are my specs:
Model: T500 (Type: 2055)
Processor: P8600 (2.40GHz)
GPU: ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3650
When I'm doing most regular activities (browsing,emailing, documents), laptop is fine. The unit gets warm underneath, but I've not had problems.
If I'm doing more intensive activities (watching local video,Netflix, or Skyping), laptop starts to heat up enough so that it's uncomfortable on my lap.
When I play games (Nothing crazy intensive: e.g. Minecraft, Civilization 4), and sometimes when I Skype, the unit gets extremely hot underneath and shuts off without warning.
The heat seems to be originating from the left-hand side of the laptop, near the back. Unless I'm mistaken, this is where the GPU is located. And this makes sense, since the overheating seems to be related to graphics-intensive activities.
So, my questions are:
1. How can I diagnose this problem further? What's a good utility to use to monitor heat of GPU and CPU? Anything else I can use ?
2. Are there any settings I can change on my laptop to prevent the automatic shut-downs and excessive heat?
3. I've seen some mention of people cleaning fans, replacing fans / cooling units, or adding thermal paste. Need some advice there too.
Any suggestions are welcome.

Good day and welcome to the community.
If you've never had the machine open to blow out dust from around the fan/heatsink assembly, I'd recommend that first. If you download a copy of your Hardware Manual: http://download.lenovo.com/ibmdl/pub/pc/pccbbs/mobiles_pdf/43y6630_04.pdf , you'll see that by pulling the palmrest, keyboard and keyboard bezel (manual pages 88-90, 92-93 and 102-103, respectively), that you'll expose the top side of the assembly in the upper left. The top view image on page 107 is helpful. The CPU is beneath the end section of the wider heatpipe and the GPU is beneath the narrower.
While holding the blades of the fan stationary (important!), you can use canned air to blow all of the dust from the inside out through the exhaust vents. Once done, button everything up and see if things run cooler. If you're still overheating, you may need to clean off the old thermal compound and apply new, but try the de-dusting first.

Scroll about 2/3 down the page for the download link for v0.62 which is the latest. It can be run in monitor-only mode or can be configured to provide a level of control over your fan speed.
Please post back your results from the first step and we can go from there.

Facetime problem?! Help please

Hello,
I have a macbook pro and a Iphone 4, and I'm having trouble to conect via facetime.
No problem doing facetime betwin two iphones.
My iphone connects to my brother's imac and vice-versa.
But my macbook pro make the call to Iphone, the Iphone rings but when I answer it doesn't connect at all.
When trying to call my macbook it doesn't ring at all.
It seens to be a probelm in my macbook, but I don't know how to solve it.

MSS Iview Problem -Any Experts help please

I've configured ESS BP in my Portal successfully and it's running perfectly fine. Now i've imported MSS also without any problems. Now the issue is when i'm launching the My Staff iViews it gives me a message "Could not connect to the R/3 System" . These iViews using the system object "SAP_R3_HumanResources" which has been used by the ESS iViews also. Now ESS iViews are working fine with the same system object but MSS iviews are giving me the error message.
My System landscape :
MSS BP Installed: BPMSS601_19-20001489
R3- 4.6C
Portal : EP6 Sp11
WAS: 6.40
ITS - Standalone ( Not integrated)
when i test my System object for ITS ,it is working fine , but it is failed   for WAS Connection and Connector test

PhotoShop Error: 147:20 - HELP PLEASE

Alright, so each time I try to open Adobe Photoshop, this is the error i get:

I restarted my computer numerous times but this is still happening. Please help me and thanky uo very much for your time.

The key is that it says there's a licensing subsystem failure.

Novice requires help.

K I am a complete novice when it comes to flash and really
need some help on probably the most basic of errors. I have
followed various deifferent methods found on various posts and
forums but none have solved this issue. I have created a basic
animation with a front page then wish upon the button click the
next part of the animation to load and bring up the menu for the
rest of the site. However it either plays the animations straight
through or it doesn't play at all.

as with any kind of script, action, or code you need to
determine EVERY step of the sequence.
let me assume that you want to:-
display the main rectangle,
then animate it to the left hand side of the screen,
then (in response to a mouse click) for the menu to appear,
then (in response to another mouse click) respond to a
selected menu item.
IF the above describes what you wish to achieve in your clip
then 'all you have to do' is 'convert' that above description into
actionscript code - yea, for a newbie possibly easier said than
done.
So the graphics is how you want it to look (nice), the
tweening animation is how you want the graphics to behave, now all
you have to do is define/control the interactions (between user and
Flash) with actionscipt, and there's the rub.
Because you've got some nice graphic elements into Flash and
you've managed to animate them I think you're assuming Flash then
knows what you want to occur and when you want it to occur BUT that
ain't so; YOU have to tell Flash what, where, when through your
actionscript code.
Spend some time tinkering just with buttons then with buttons
and simple scripts incorporating OnMouseDown/OnMouseUp etc. AND
THEN pick up your app and try to sort it, I think you'll be closer
to achieving your intended purpose and more knowledgeable about
Flash and what you're getting into.
I reckon no-one's going to sit down and code that app for
you, that's down to you, BUT if you need to sort out a wrinkle in a
piece of code then we're here.

FTP problems with CS5 - Help please

I volunteer helping charity and education organisations with their websites. One of my clients has just bought CS5 - I personally am still working on CS3 - so when I went to help them download their site first of all the set-up was quite different (why do companies fix things that aren't broken), but I got over that issue and managed to connect to the site, download and make a couple of changes. All was well!
Two days later I went back, because they were having problems and I couldn't connect to the server.... Well, when I was on the main Dreamweaver screen the computer said it was connecting and made all the right moves uploading files etc, but nothing on the website changed, so goodness knows where the files were going. When I went onto the screen showing local and remote files, on the server side there was just a message saying you can't upload unless you set up a control version and the little blue plug was just greyed out.
I don't want or need to set up a control version as it is just one person dealing with this site from one computer.
As this is the first time I have come across 'subversion' or SVN I am a little confused. I have sent an email to the hosting company to make sure it is not a problem with their server, but won't get a reply until Monday so I thought that over the week-end I would just ask all you out there....
Help!!

DW is more than capable of managing your FTP tasks on its own. Please tell us - when you connect to the remote site and then LOOK at the Remote side of the Files panel, what FOLDER names do you see? As an ancillary question, what do you have in the Root Directory field of the Remote site definition?
