Photostreams from Aperture working with one iPad, not another

I've been created a Photostream in Aperture and while it appears in my iPad 3, it does not appear in my other iPad 2 (model A1219).  I've verfied that Photostream is set to ON, and the software is up to date.  I also notice that in Settings>General>iTunes WiFi Sync, the "Sync Now" button is greyed out, even though my iMac is on, and the wireless network is working fine. Any ideas? I've attached a couple of screen shots of iTunes so you can see what's enabled.

I'm not sure what the difference is between a regular an shared photo stream. Within Aperture, I have a collection of photos. I selected all of them (in this cae, about 60), and clicked the Photostream icon.
When you click the "PhotoStream icon in the Toolbar, you should see this:
Have you used the default "My Photo Stream" or selected to create a new stream? A new stream would be a Shared Photo Stream and not available on IOS 5.1 devices.
Otherwise I am running out of ideas, sorry.

  • Drill Back from HFM works for one year, not another

    Hello,
We are on FDM and HFM 11.1.2.1 and I was doing some reasearch in the system today and for some reason in all periods that were loaded during 2011 in this version (Aug-Dec) I am able to drill back to the FDM source data. However, if I go into 2012 and try a drill back for Jan or Feb it does not work and I get the below error message. I'm guessing there must be a setting I'm missing somewhere, but can't figure out why the year would make a difference here.
Error: No Locations were found matching the passed intersection values. Please verify:
    1) that the target system (originating the drillback) is properly configured;
    2) that the FDM POVs have not been retroactively modified or compromised.
    Thank you,
    Jason

Yes, that is what the problem was. After talking with Oracle support apparently when you upload new periods via the Excel template it does not update the tpovperiodadapter table, which is needed for the drill back from HFM to work. In order to fix this I had the DBA go in and manually update the 4 fields (see below) for the 2 periods we had already loaded for 2012 and all is working now. I also went back and deleted all of the other future periods and added them manually via the FDM web interface.
The table has the following collumns:
    PeriodKey
    IntSystemKey
    PeriodTargetM
    YearTarget
Period Key would be the period date
IntSystemKey would be the adapter system code that was used to load the data to HFM
PeriodTargetM would be the target Month in HFM
YearTarget would be the target year in HFM
    Example:
PeriodKey - 1/31/2012 (format needs to be the same as what's currently in the database)
    IntSystemKey - FM11X-G5-E
    PeriodTargetM - Jan
    YearTarget - 2012

  • What 3 in 1 Colour printers will work with my iPad (not iPad 2)

I need to replace my old HP colour printer that works with my PC. My wife has an iPad and wants to print photos from it. Does anyone know and can recommend a good 3 in 1 colour printer that will work from th eiPad. We have broadband in the house. Thanks Mike

The most current list of printers that support AirPrint, technology that allows an iOS device to connect directly to a printer, can be found here:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4356
You can use other printers by running them through your computer. Search the web for something like "airprint Windows hack" and you'll find instructions on enabling printing.
If you can find an AirPrint printer that will do what you need, though, that's obviously going to be more satisfactory.
    Regards.

  • Drill Through to HFM Works for One Location, Not Another - Same Adapter

    Good morning all -
I have two locations that both use the same adapter to load to the same HFM application. One location produces the drill through files, one does not.
I've seen several posts about needing separate applications for multiple adapters, but surely this doesn't apply if the adapter is the same? Am I missing a location specific setting somewhere?
    Thanks in advance,
    Sarah

This was a stupid mistake on my part. I looked through the output and never saw the A, B, C files get produced, so I assumed it never worked. I failed to notice that we had also always had .err files, which prevents drill through files from being created. I answered my own question on the phone with Oracle support. :)
    Thanks for your response.

  • Can login with one laptop, not another

Two (long-winded) questions for you all:
    1) Anyone know why I would be able to login to our domain from one laptop with a LEAP-enabled wireless card, but cannot login with another LEAP-enabled laptop sitting right next to it? I have pre-auth turned on for both laptops. Both laptops will query the ACS to get an address. Both pass 802.11/x credentials and receive IP addresses. One laptop (a Lenovo S12) can login users just fine. The other laptop is a Dell and will come back with "Domain is not available" after passing all of the pre-auth credentials.
I've made sure that the external database is pointing to the right groups in AD, but I do see authentication failures pop up on the WCS. The following is common:
Client '00:21:6a:28:56:4c (Admin, 10.172.1.14)' which was associated with interface '802.11b/g' of AP 'AP102' is excluded. The reason code is '4(802.1X Authentication failed 3 times.)'.
Remember, though, pre-auth is telling me that it does pass 802.1X authentication, and you can see that it does get an IP, so this error is conflicting. I also get a lot of these, too:
Client '00:21:6a:28:60:a8 ([email protected], 0.0.0.0)' which was associated with interface '802.11b/g' of AP 'AP102' is excluded. The reason code is '4(802.1X Authentication failed 3 times.)'.
I understand that it is trying to pass authentication for a device with no IP, but why does one login get an IP (as seen on the first message) and not another login (second message)? I get this with the same user name, not just when different people are trying. I can login to the Lenovo with [email protected], but I turn around and get "Domain is not available" on the Dell with the exact same AD account.
    2) Here's another one that's baffling me: I have a user named [email protected]. When trying to auth to the domain, I see the following pop up in the event log on WCS (A LOT):
Client '00:1c:bf:96:d3:6a (..m [email protected], 0.0.0.0)' which was associated with interface '802.11b/g' of AP 'AP122' is excluded. The reason code is '4(802.1X Authentication failed 3 times.)'.
User authentication from Controller '10.5.1.11' failed for User name '..m [email protected]' and user type 'Network User'.
User authentication from Controller '10.5.1.11' failed for User name '.O. [email protected]' and user type 'Network User'.
Client '00:1c:bf:96:d3:6a (x.m [email protected], 0.0.0.0)' which was associated with interface '802.11b/g' of AP 'AP122' is excluded. The reason code is '4(802.1X Authentication failed 3 times.)'.
User authentication from Controller '10.5.1.11' failed for User name 'x.m [email protected]' and user type 'Network User'.
Why is it that the user tries to login with "[email protected]", but the controller thinks he's trying to use random ones, shown above?! His actual login name is no where in the logs at all. Thoughts on this one?!
To throw another kink into this, we can login all day long with other devices, like iPhones and Android phones and Linux (on the exact same machines that had previously "failed", mind you) and never get authentication errors or random drops. It's making me think it is a Windows driver issue, but I can have a driver work on one laptop and not another that is the exact same model... It's very confusing at the moment for me, sending me spinning in circles to try and find what's going on.
Thanks in advance for your help!

Which operating system you are using?
What is the error you get while trying to connect like the network requires network key, or low wireles signal etc?
Also what is the model number of your router?
Please provide these details so that i can help you with this

  • Movie Playback Problems - works on one machine, not another

Embeded a Windows Movie Maker using Acrobat 9. Works on my machine, but not another. Both are Windows machines. The other machine gets an error message.
    What could be the problem?

I embeded a wmv file -- just because that's what i created the file with.
I think I may have solved the problem --  I converted the wmv file into a
flv for acrobat 8 and higher, then embeded movie file into the pdf.

  • Custom service only working with one file, not multiple ones

    Hi,
I created a service in which I can resize selected images through photoshop and format them for the web. I was able to successfully place this into a contextualized menu, which is awesome for me.
However, when I select a group of files in the finder, secondary click, and run the service, the action only completes the first file. The other files remain open in photoshop (they do not get resized, or saved).
    What am I doing wrong?
My service workflow looks like this:
Service recieves selected "image files" in "any application"
    Save for Web:
save to: "a web folder I made for this practice"
    use "Adobe photoshop CS
    type: jpeg
    constrain size to 800 X 800
Then the second part of the workflow is"Make names Web-Friendly.
I found these plugins on Apples download page, called "save for web 2.5"
    Any help would be great.
    Thanks!

where i said one file.. i mean one file tipe ex: .M2T .jpg .mp4 etc

  • Windows XP3 Firefox works for one use, not another.

Using windows XP SP3 and latest Firefox. On normal user Fire fox suddenly will not load. Click on Icon and it seems to load but does not appear on desktop. Looking in Windows Task Manager it looks like ti is running. Never appears open on desktop
On user "Admin", it boots and works normally. BOTH Admin and other user are admin security levels.
I have downloaded and installed the latest update but no change.
Thunderbird works normally on all users. There are only two user names on this machine. My problem is with another machine. I have compared some settings from this one to the faulty on and found no noticable differences.

Occasionally the Firefox window will get off screen. Here are three different
approaches to getting that window into view. One of them should work!<BR><BR>
'''''Firefox Window "off screen" — Arrow Key Method'''''<BR><BR>
If you know that Firefox is off to a particular side, you can use the arrow keys
to move it back on screen. You only need to move it far enough to be able to
click the title bar and then you can drag it the rest of the way.<BR><BR>
Make the Firefox tile active on the task bar and press this key combination
    to start moving the window:<BR><BR>
    Alt+Spacebar > m<BR><BR>
(To clarify, that's Alt+Spacebar to open the window control menu, then the
letter m to start moving the window.)<BR><BR>
Press the arrow key for the direction you want to move the window, e.g., press
the left arrow key to move the window left. Press the Enter key to complete the move.<BR><BR>
'''''Firefox Window "off screen" — Maximize + New Window Script Method'''''<BR><BR>
If Firefox is nowhere to be found but you know it's out there, try this method.
Make the Firefox tile active on the task bar and press this key combination to
    maximize the window:<BR><BR>
    Alt+Spacebar > x<BR><BR>
(To clarify, that's Alt+Spacebar to open the window control menu, then the letter
    x to maximize the window.)<BR><BR>
    If that works, try this:<BR><BR>
    (1) Copy the following line of code to the clipboard (it's all one line...):<BR><BR>
    newwin=window.open(window.location.href, "_blank", <BR>
    "width=640,height=480,menubar,toolbar,personalbar");<BR>
    newwin.moveTo(0,0);<BR><BR>
    (2) In the maximized window, press Ctrl+Shift+k to open the web console.<BR><BR>
    (3) Press Ctrl+v to paste the line of code next to the caret (») then press Enter to run it.
A new copy of that page should open in a window positioned at the top left of the screen.<BR><BR>
    (4) Switch back to the maximized window and close it first, before doing anything
    in the new window.<BR><BR>
'''''Firefox Window "off screen" — Remove Settings File'''''<BR><BR>
If you can't move or maximize Firefox, you can rename or delete the settings
file that stores the last window position.<BR><BR>
    (1) Open your currently active Firefox settings folder (AKA Firefox profile folder).
From the Start menu (Run box or search box), paste this into the search box and press Enter:
    <BR><BR>%APPDATA%\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles<BR><BR>
This should open a window showing one or more Firefox profile folders. If you have multiple
folders, look for the most recent. Click into your profile folder.<BR><BR>
    (2) If Firefox is still running, right-click it on the Task Bar and Close all Windows. <BR><BR>
    (3) Wait a few moments for Firefox to finish updating files in your profile folder, then rename
'''''localstore.rdf''''' to something else, like localstore-bad.rdf or localstore.old.
Alternately, you can delete the file.<BR><BR>
    (4) You're done with your profile folder and you can restart Firefox now.

  • PC laptop works on one Airport, not another?

My boss is having issues connecting his Fujitsu netbook. Here at our office, he connects with the Linksys router. At his office, his netbook connects fine with his Airport Extreme Base Station. At home, not so much. He gets an "Acquiring Network Address" message that doesn't go away. Here's what he says:
"Further to our discussion about the problem connecting my Fujitsu (using XP) to my Apple wireless at home…
As I mentioned, it works fine on my office system, using the same Apple wireless router, as well as at your place with the linksys.
At home, when you look at status it says "acquiring network address", and it notes the correct network name. If you look on the support tab, it says "invalid IP address", and if you click "repair" is says "renewing IP address", but just keeps trying to do that forever. And I have tried unplugging all the various parts.  No difference.
    Any ideas?"
"They are both Airport Extreme Base Stations and look the same. The office
Model number is A1354 and the offending one at home is Model A1143."
Security: "Yes, the standard Apple secured password setup."
    Thanks for any help.

    This look and feel
com.sun.java.swing.plaf.windows.WindowsLookAndFeelis not the same thing on all window platforms. Case in point, the Vista one differs from the XP one. And in the Vista one, if I do something like this
    UIManager.put("Button.background",java.awt.Color.BLUE);then I get this behavior
I use UIManager.put("Button.background",Color.BLUE); and what I see is a button with a blue outline.Which is why I thought you might be running Vista.
Basically, though, not all the platform specific look and feels can be customized through the UI defaults. Your Work PC has such a system dependent LookAndFeel.

  • Sync apps to one iPad not another

My iMac has confused my two iPads and is syncing apps for one onto the other. Its got the name right but not the apps. The iMac is on Yosemite.

Previously iTunes recognised each iPad by its name and synced the correct apps. This time it immediately installed some of the apps for the wrong one. I keep the number of installed apps as low as possible but I have many in backup.

Wifi is not available where I come from. I have broadband connection where data transmission is through cell sites then to USB modem connected to a computer. The modem draws power from the computer. Will this setup work with the ipad?

iPad requires Wifi (or 3G /LTE) to connect to the Internet. You cannot connect a USB modem to the iPad.
You can create your own WiFi hotspot through your computer for your iPad to connect to, if your computer supports this functionality. All Wifi Macs and many Wifi PCs do. Check your computer manual for how to do it.

I have done this but it does not work with one of my albums and I dont know why??

That would be it. Sometimes you can tweak the album & artist names enough for iTunes to download matching art from the store, or you could add a bonus track featuring 1 second of silence and attach artwork to that, or you could convert the files to Apple Lossless.

  • 30 pin Belkin cord not working with 12W Ipad charger

    Title
30 pin Belkin cord not working with 12W Ipad charger
    Updated my ipad to ios7
    Old charger stopped working
    Got new charger
    Still not charging
    Help
    Please thank you

Seems as if your tried changing everything but the 30-pin cable. Does the same cable work if you connect the iPad to your PC (does the PC recognize that the iPad is plugged in)?
Inspect the 30-pin port on the iPad for dust/lint which likes to get trapped inside. Clean out/blow out the 30-pin port on the iPad using a soft brush (like a paint brush).
Also inspect and clean the 30-pin connector on the cable. Even just a small amount of dust or lint on the connectors (especially in the 30-pin port on the device) can cause charging issues.
