PI 7.1 Adapter Level Logging documentation

Hello, I am pretty new at PI 7.1. We are working on a logging documentation which requires us to layout how logging works in PI 7.1 both in ABAP and Java Stacks. Also, If possible could someone point me into right direction on logging documenatation at Adapter level, like SOAP, FTP, RFC etc.

Hi All,
In the IDoc-XI-FileServer Secario, if File server is down (the connection between XI and Fileserver is not good), then Does XI tries to send the message by doing retries? Still the connection is down, then How to process that message in Adapter level?

yes, it will try to resend it 3 times by default before throwing a system error. you can increase the number of retries though.
If it error's out then you can resend the msg from RWB -- message monitoring

This is PROXY(ECC) to JMS interface. In this scenario i'm using Time interval EOIO - 86400 secs.
Only this partcular message got system error in adapter engine,remaining all messgaes processed successfully.
How i will set the Pending Handling channel parameter to Bypass and restart the message afterwards..?
please explain me step by step on this set up...

The certificate has already been uploaded and the AS2ID is defined as one of the identifiers of the party.
Anyone has any idea what might be wrong? Did i miss anything?

I am having the same issue.
I receive the com.seeburger.ksm.cryptoapi.exception.CryptoApiException: java.security.PrivilegedActionException
message plus the "unable to find alias name TRUSTED\".
It appears that after the outbound message is transformed to XML iin XI then sent to Seeburger's BIC for EDI format translation, then sent to AS2 for encryption/transmission, the AS2 adapter cannot find the key store that holds the certificates I am using.
Am I missing some configuration that points the to the keystore I need ?

Unable to find OLD messages in RWB Adapter level message monitoring

Hi Experts,
I have peculiar issue regarding the messages at the adapter level.
I see some messages in SXMB_MONI. I take the message ID from MONI and go to the Adapter Level Message Monitoring in RWB, but i do not see any message for that message id.
This is not happening for recent messages, but some old messages (2 months or so), we are unable to find the message at the adapter level.
I also tried chosingthe option, display from archive, but no use.
Can someone help me out??

I just noticed a warning sign today, when I login to my EBS 11i (11.5.10.2).
WARNING :Low-level logging is currently enabled. Your application will not perform as well while low-level logging is on.
I did not remember setting it on, how do i set it off please?

Check the following profile options (at the Site/User level):
FND: Debug Log Enabled
FND: Debug Log Filename
FND: Debug Log Level
FND: Debug Log Module
If the value of "FND: Debug Log Enabled" is set to "Yes", change it to "No" and bounce Apache then.
Also, make sure that "AFLOG_ENABLED" is set to "FALSE" in (oc4j.properties -- R12) and (jserv.properties -- 11i).

Purging EOIO messages with status "Holding" at the adapter level in XI.

I want to purge a set of messages (some 800) with status "Holding" at Adapter level in RunTime Workbench. I have gone through the blog "/people/stefan.grube/blog/2006/04/27/how-to-deal-with-stuck-eoio-messages-in-the-xi-30-adapter-framework which explain the way to reprocess the messages which are stuck in EOIO so that the rest in queue are processed but is there a way to purge a large number of messages in a EOIO queue which are holding for long, at the adpater framework level thorugh some option in Runtime workbench or Visual Administrator of J2EE server on which XI is running ?

I wanted to know whether application logging is possible or not. i.e. customer deploys an application, a log should be created that would contain the name of the application, size of it, timestamp etc.

Capacity leveling log showing duplicate information for Resource

Need one help.
When I am looking into the Capacity leveling logs, I see duplicate information for every Resource. There is no difference in the information regarding resource utilization (before/after). For every resource we are getting this duplicate records in the logs. Sometime there is one difference on timing, (when the resource was processed by the background job.)

There is no difference in details resource utilization, yet resource are shown two times, for every resource.
We are on SCM 7.0 . Is this standard? if so, then why?

This can happen because of resource setting in APO.
You need to check the following:
Bucket definition
Resource utilization
Time Zone
You should check also the "Time-Cont Capacity" tab details where start, end and break time is maintained,
You should also verify the "External Capacity" Tab data
There is no other reason apart from that.
You can also check the PPMs which are using this resource and some setting in PPM modes and other operation data.
If it is okay then possibility you need to check the model and version assignments.
You can remove the version assignment and delete the resource and again CIF it to APO.
Possibly it will help.

Enabling ALSB debug level logging

Within my proxy services I have added some DEBUG level log statements, however, these do not seem to get logged to either my standard out log or my application log. If I switch them to WARN or ERROR, I get them logged.
I verified in Operational Settings on my proxy service logging is enabled at level DEBUG or above.
I think something maybe within WLS itself might be preventing the logs. If within the WLS console I switch debug logging on for everything (Debug tab on the server screen), I do see my log statements, among other things. Unfortunately I cannot figure out which one of the hundred or so items actually enables the debug logging just for ALSB's debug statements.
Has anybody else figured out the right combination of things to get ALSB to log the proxy service debug statements?

Thanks. That was already enabled but checking it made me think of another thing. I have been watching the console you get when you start up your server from the automatically created shortcuts. Instead, I checked the actual log file for the server and the debug statements do in fact get written there. The console that comes up must be standard error, hence, only the warnings and errors.
