Placing Widget in a specific 'Space'

All,
I'm looking for some info on the Dashboard and Widgets. Is there a method to force a Widget to stay within a Specific Space? I'd like most of the Widgets to stay in Space 1, but another Widget to only display in Space 3.
Any ideas on how to do this, if at all?
Cheers,

this is not possible. dashboard is a single application. when you activate it it will display all widgets in the current space.

    How do I play a game in a space as opposed to it taking up the whole screen. I want to be able to be online and toggle to a specific space to play the game. Someone said something about maximized windows mode. How do I activate that?

  • How to get App specific spaces

    Back in Snowleopard i had it when i opend iTunes it would open up in a specific space desktop (ie. Space 3 of 6), I noticed that that opption isnt in Lion.... or is it just hiding? could any one tell me?

    You have to set it up again in Lion. While iTunes is running, select the Desktop you want to use with it. Then, right/command click iTunes in the dock. Choose Options > Assign to > This Desktop.

  • Playing game in specific space

    Anyone know how to play a video game in a specific space on leopard? I want to be able to be online and toggle to a specific space and play my game.

    Select the game in the Finder and choose Get Info from the File menu; under Ownership & Permissions, change the settings so that all accounts have Read & Write access to it. Support files and folders used by the game may need to have their permissions changed as well; if these exist, they will probably be located in the Applications or Library folders.

  • Login item - in a specific Space/Desktop

    I would like to have all the applications which are started up when I log on (System Preferences > Accounts > Login Items) started in a specific Space (desktop). Is this possible?

    Yep.
    In Login Items you have the option to show/hide login items, make sure all the ones you want to show are set appropriately there.
    Then in System Preferences go into Expose & Spaces, then the Spaces tab. You can set Application Assignments so apps start up in certain spaces or in every space.

  • Opening a widget in a specifically sized window.

    I recently read Old Toad's tutorial on how to open a file in a user defined window and I would like to do this with my radio widget. The problem is that I don't know what the URL to the widget would be. Any help is greatly appreciated!!

    Can you get the info you want by finding the URL in the source code of the page after it's been published/worked-over by iWeb?

  • Placing ini file in specific location when building the application

    Hello,
       I have a small problem.  I have an ini file that I use to store certain parameters.  Lets call this file app.ini.  When I build the Application.exe, it puts that file into the data directory.  I was hoping that it would be one level higher and be located in the same directory as Application.exe is (otherwise it won't read the file correctly.)  I looked at the Source File Settings in the Category list in the properties window for the build and set the Destination to be "Same as caller", but that didn't put it where I wanted it.  I'd really like this file to be one directory higher when I make my build in order for my app to read it correctly.  Any suggestions?
    I use this executable later on when I make my installer and the problem simply propagates there too, not good.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    One way to solve the problem:
    1) In build properties window select Destinations and create a new destination. Select as "Destination Path" the same dir where the exe will be stored
    2) Assign this destination to the .ini file.
    Let me know if it works

  • Placing Flash Video in Specific Location on Web Page

    Hi-
    Basic (I think) question here regarding Flash video on a web
    page created with DW8. I am trying to figure out how to have
    several thumbnail images on the right hand side of the page link in
    such a way that when they are clicked they will play the
    corresponding Flash video file in a player window on the left hand
    side of the page (something like a YouTube page layout). It seems
    like it should be simple enough to link the thumbnail images to the
    videos and then have the videos play in the player at a preset
    location on the page, however, I'll be darned if I can find
    anything on the Adobe site, tutorials, or the Web in general that
    addresses just how to do this. Maybe I'm just putting in the wrong
    search terms. Anyway, if you have any suggestions, tips or
    tutorials you can recommend I would surely appreciate it.

    hi,
    You can video on image click using the simple javascript.
    the script can be like this:
    <script language="JavaScript" type="text/JavaScript">
    function playVideo(val){
    document.getElementById('
    divLayer').innerHTML=
    '<OBJECT
    classid="clsid:D27CDB6E-AE6D-11cf-96B8-444553540000"\n'+
    ' codebase="
    http://macromedia.com/cabs/swflash.cab#version=6,0,0,0"\n'+
    ' ID=flaMovie WIDTH=320 HEIGHT=240>\n'+
    ' <PARAM NAME=movie VALUE="te.swf">\n'+
    ' <PARAM NAME=FlashVars VALUE="url=' + val+'">\n'+
    ' <PARAM NAME=quality VALUE=high>\n'+
    ' <EMBED src="te.swf" FlashVars="url=' + val+'"\n'+
    ' WIDTH=320 HEIGHT=240 \n'+
    ' TYPE="application/x-shockwave-flash">\n'+
    ' </EMBED>\n'+
    '</OBJECT>\n';
    </script>
    where
    divLayer is div layer insdie the body.
    And, for image click the function can be assigned like this
    <a href="javascript:playVideo(
    flvName.flv' )"> <img
    src="some.jpg"></a><br/>
    In the flash video player(te.swf in this case) you need to
    declare a variable called
    url
    and assign the video contentPath to url.
    I hope this works for you..

  • Replacing Home Space with a specific Group Space.

    Hi,
    We have a Webcenter Spaces 11.8 environment.
    We are trying to completely bypass the home space and take the user to a specific space.
    While this is possible to do it through the initial redirection based on application/enterprise role, some re-directions are causing the user to land in the home space.
    Also, the user can get to the home space pages by typing in the url. We want to restrict the user from viewing the home space altogether and replace it completely with our group space.
    Approach1 : Page Links -
    We tried to bring in pages from the group space into the home space navigation model as page links. Even if the group space is public, we cannot link to its pages as we cannot see the pages in the page link popup. Only home space pages are shown. Is this expected? How do we bring in pages from a specific group space into the home page navigation?
    Approach 2: Group Space Pages Query -
    We can bring all the pages from the "Default Navigation Model" of the group space into the home space navigation model. However, the landing page upon login needs to be a visible page in the home space. How do we get the user redirected to a specific page in a group space and make that node as selected once the user logs in.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
    Check this code.
    data : role(10) type c value 'crick ter',
           role1(10) type c,
           role2(10) type c.
    write: / role.
    SPLIT role AT space INTO role1 role2.
    concatenate role1 role2 into role separated by '_'.
    write: / role.

  • How do I play a cd-rom game in a specific Leopard space?

    Hey all. I just got Leopard system for my mac. I also just purchased a cd-rom game for it and I am wondering how I can play the game in a specific space I set it to using the "spaces" feature so that I can browse the internet and toggle back to the desired space to play the game. I appreciate any help.

    Look for an option in the game that runs it in 'windowed mode' Then you can use spaces. I don't think you can run a full-screen game on its own 'space'.

    1) Padding is only placed on the top and/or bottom of the divs. The elements within these divs have padding on their sides. This saves you from any "box model math". Keep in mind, if you add any side padding or border to the div itself, it will be added to the width you define to create the *total* width. You may also choose to remove the padding on the element in the div and place a second div within it with no width and the padding necessary for your design.
    2) No margin has been given to the columns since they are all floated. If you must add margin, avoid placing it on the side you're floating toward (for example: a right margin on a div set to float right). Many times, padding can be used instead. For divs where this rule must be broken, you should add a "display:inline" declaration to the div's rule to tame a bug where some versions of Internet Explorer double the margin.
    3) Since classes can be used multiple times in a document (and an element can also have multiple classes applied), the columns have been assigned class names instead of IDs. For example, two sidebar divs could be stacked if necessary. These can very easily be changed to IDs if that's your preference, as long as you'll only be using them once per document.
    4) If you prefer your nav on the left instead of the right, simply float these columns the opposite direction (all left instead of all right) and they'll render in reverse order. There's no need to move the divs around in the HTML source.

    Give <div class="container"> the same blue background color as your right side bar.
    You'll notice in IE some of the spacing for the rest of your page is slightly larger than in Firefox (browsers do that a lot if you aren't very, very specific about sizes). Because of that, your side bar isn't long enough to fill in the space on that side and the background color of the "container" <div> shows through.

        min-width: 780px;/* a min-width may be desirable to keep this layout from getting too narrow. This keeps line length more readable in the side columns. IE6 does not respect this declaration. */
        background: #FFF;
        margin: 0 auto; /* the auto value on the sides, coupled with the width, centers the layout. It is not needed if you set the .container's width to 100%. */
        overflow: hidden; /* this declaration makes the .container clear all floated columns within it. */
    /* ~~ These are the columns for the layout. ~~
    4) If you prefer your nav on the right instead of the left, simply float these columns the opposite direction (all right instead of all left) and they'll render in reverse order. There's no need to move the divs around in the HTML source.

    Well its the 'footer' <div> and the <div> before that which need some attention.
    Add the below to your css styles:
    .footer {
    width: 80%;
    margin: 0 auto;
    background-color: #fff;
    .footer p {
    margin: 0;
    padding: 0;
    Then remove the "push" <div> completely:
    <div class="push"></div>
    <div class="footer">
    <p><center>Copyright (c) 2008</p>
    </div>
    To just leave:
    <div class="footer">
    <p><center>Copyright (c) 2008</p>
    </div>

  • Help with lightbox gallery widget

    Hello
    I built a website for my photography business and used the lightbox gallery widget. I'm not massively HTML minded so I tend to build in design view and just tweak the HTML code.
    The gallery is here: http://www.emmarichards.co.uk/gallery.html
    When you click on one of the photos, it is not working properly, it just takes you to another webpage with just the image. It worked fine in the live view. I'm looking at it in IE, not sure which version but a fairly up to date one I think. I've also checked it using the Mozilla browser and having the same problem. How can I rectify this please? The pages code is as follows:
    <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">
    <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">

    Do I need to have the same path as in my root folder, so for example within my Public folder with my host, have a 'script's folder and then put the 'jquery.js' file within that or should that not matter?
    All paths (the route from the parent file to the dependent file) are crucial.
    If the path is not correct, the required file will not be found and the effect will not work.
    There's no need to upload files individually and manually place them into remote folders. DW handles all file and folder paths for you if you use the Files panel.
    For example, http://www.emmarichards.co.uk/scripts/lightbox.js = 404 error. The file still does not exist on the server in that location.
    You should be able to click on the css and scripts folders locally, click Put and all files in those folders will be uploaded correctly.

  • Awesome systray is not showing all icons, perhaps overlapping widgets?

    I have a problem with my Awesome configuration that results in some of the icons being missing or partially missing from my systray. I suspect this is because of some overlapping, since they are partially hidden. You can see the problem in the top right corner.

    First of all, did you check the wiki and forums? We'll help you, but you have to try to fix it yourself first.
    You will need to provide more info if you want help.
    Did you set up Gnome to force fallback mode?
    Did you look at the Gnome wiki article? There's a few sections that sound like what your looking to do, but the examples are USING OTHER WM's. They still might be able to point you in the right direction.
