Planner Group field in equipment master data

Dear All,
My client is having Maintenance dept. which is divided in to 3 sub departments like Mechanical, Electrical & Civil. By referring this I am going to create following Planner Groups.
I have decided to maintain following planner groupu2019s for planning & preparing maintenance tasks.
1) Head Mechanical
2) Head Electrical
3) Head Civil
In my case I am planning to maintain Planner Group at Equipment level. I am not going to maintain at Functional Location level.
My client is saying that they have many Equipmentu2019s for which Planner Group must be above 3 & few Equipments having Mechanical & Electrical Planner Group.
For example, Compressor is Equipment for that Mechanical & Electrical both is responsible for planning & preparing maintenance tasks. *So they wanted both Planner Groups to be maintained at Equipment level. But as per SAP standard you can maintain only one Planner Group at Equipment or Functional Location level.*
I have few questions in my mind related to Planner Group.
1) What is the importance of Planner Group?
2) If I have not maintained Planner Group at Functional Location & Equipment Level then what will happen?
3) Can I maintain Planner Group at PM Order level?
4) Suppose I have maintained Planner Group u201CHead Mechanicalu201D in Equipment but after some days there is some electrical maintenance is come up. Then I will create PM order for carrying out Electrical maintenance, in this can I able to change Planner Group from Mechanical to Electrical. But is this a correct way to change Planner Group in PM Order.
Regarding this query how I can convince to my client.

I would suggest the structuring the system as follows.
          Mechanical (Work center)
                    MEng1 (Activity = Engineer name or Employee code)
                    MEng2 (Activity)
                    MEng3 (Activity)
                    MEng4 (Activity)
          Mechanical (Work center)
                    EEng1 (Activity = Engineer name or Employee code)
                    EEng2 (Activity)
                    EEng3 (Activity)
                    EEng4 (Activity)
          Civli (Work center)
                    CEng1 (Activity = Engineer name or Employee code)
                    CEng2 (Activity)
                    CEng3 (Activity)
                    CEng4 (Activity)
In a single order you can use different work center activities... ie. in a single order, you can use Elect Eng for some operations + Mech eng for some operations
Capture and seggregate  the cost of each dept in the same order ie. Elect Labor cost, Mech labor cost in Cost tab
You can get the report work center wise and Activity type wise

    Hi everyone!
    I wanted to display the warranty date field in the equipment master data (IE01). I have already made the configuration and added the additional tab and screen thru this path:
    Plant Maintenance and Customer Service > Master Data in Plant Maintenance and Customer Service > Technical Objects > General Data > Set View Profile for Technical Objects
    But still, the tab is not added and the warranty date field is not found in the "Define Field Selection for the Equipment Master Record". please help me with this. We need this data because we are not using serial numbering and warranty master data that's why a way to track the warranty date is thru this adjustment in the equipment master data screen.

      Make sure that you have assigned this specific profile to the Equipment category of the associated equipment that you are creating under SPRO > PM> Master data> tech object > Equipment > Equip category.

  • Transportation group field in Material master..Sales/Plant data tab.

    Hello Gurus,
    The transportation group field in material master is Material specific or a plant specific?? caz whenever i am changing this transportation group field in one plant it is also updating with the same value in all the plant for the common material even though the Company code and Country are different forall the plants.
    Hope to hear from you soon as its a very high priority production issue..

    Its material specific.  Even if you have multiple sales areas or plants and if you change the transportation group, the change will be applicable for those areas also.

    Hi,
    you can add new tab on the screen and provide your custom field on that tab. You have to add a new tab for any Technical Object by doing some configuration changes in SPRO. first go to SPRO and in screen sequences add a new tab sequence against the profile. Now in the function group SAPLXTOB you can see this new tab screen. Do your requirements on this screen.

  • Planner group field in Maintenance order

    Hi,
    When we create a General Maintenance Order, the planner group from Equipment/Functional Location, value, will automatically appear in the Order.
    But in Refurbishment Order, which is for material, the planner group field do not come automatically.
    Is there any option to maintain the planner group field in the Material master, so that, this can appear automatically in the Refurbishment order.

    The Material Master route you are looking for does not look feasible,as there is no relation between Planner Group and Material .
    If your Refurbishment Order is triggered through a Notification (M4), then Planner Group automatically flows to Order.
    The other alternative can be
    1. Create a Z-Table having Material vs Planner Group.
    2, Use the User-Exit  IWO10018  to have default planner group INGPR value.
    This works as I have already tested while replying to a discussion. Please go through this.work order completed by
    and go through my reply having 6 steps. You need to work in the similar lines.
    Take help of an ABAPer.

  • Custom Field in Asset Master Data

    Dear Experts,
    I want to ask about a problem I'm having when adding a new field in Asset Master Data ( AS01 & AS02 ).
    I'm adding new field on the Time-dependent Tab. I already create the exit & the new custom field, and with the help of the functional registered the new field.
    I'm using a new installed SAP GUI 7.3 .
    The problem is that the new field doesn't appear when I access the tcode unless I click on the new field location.
    The problem seem doesn't appear in SAP GUI 7.1 & 7.2.
    Is there any setting that need to be done or this is the problem with the SAP GUI 7.3

    You can go through the steps below to customize the field u2018Planned. retirement onu2019
    1, AS02 -> Menu: Environment -> screen layout -> Master data -> select layout and double click on Logic field group -> Select Logic field group 2 u2018Posting informationu2019 and double click on field group rules -> Change field group 13 to u2018Suppressed entry fieldu2019.
    Alternatively
    2, Use AO21 to customize the field as above.
    Note: field u2018Planned. retirement onu2019 in asset master is connected to the function u2018Simulate up to planned retirement dateu2019 in asset reports. After field u2018Planned. retirement onu2019 of asset master data is deactivated, the function u2018Simulate up to planned retirement dateu2019 in asset report will be disabled.

  • Solved - Group Fields for Vendor Master Records in IMG

    This was the solution.
    The new field's data element I added to LFB1 did not have the "change document" field checked.  I made that change and now that field shows up in IMG.
    Hello all,
    I added an append structure to the table LFB1.  This structure has 1 field.  I then created a "Modification-Free Enhancement of Vendor Master Record" to add the new LFB1 field to the vendor master screen, edit and display screens.  This is the 3rd time I have done this.  So far so good.
    Now our functional analyst went into IMG to add this new LFB1 field to a "Group Fields for Vendor Master Records" which we have done 2 other times.
    The new LFB1 field does not show up in the list of possible Table-fields.  
    There must be some other step I am missing.
    Does any of this ring a bell?  We are on version 4.7.

      There are several tables that are contain Vendor Master related data which can be used for extraction to BW. Some of the tables which can be useful for you are:
    LFA1 :  Vendor Master (General Section)
    LFM1 :  Vendor master record purchasing organization data
    LFBW : Vendor master record (withholding tax types) X
    WYT3 :  Partner Functions
    LFBK : Vendor Master (Bank Details)
    LFB1:  Vendor Master (Company Code)
    ADRC: Addresses (Business Address Services)
    ADR3: Fax Numbers (Business Address Services)
    ADR6: SMTP Numbers (Business Address Services)
    ADRT: Communication Data Text (Business Address Services)
    You may use the Data sources mentioned in the previous update from Venky above namely :
    0VENDOR_ATTR --- for master data attributes
    0VENDOR_TEXTS -- For texts
    Since the fields that you are using are from different tables so its better if you go for a Generic Data source where you can use the fields as per your requirement.

    I really appreciate for your advices on how to display Functional Location Field in Asset Master data.
    I have checked the configuration on path IMG:\Financial Accounting->Asset Accounting->Master Data->Screen Layout->Define Screen Layout for Master Data
    I have chosen the screen layout and review all Logical Field Groups. And there's no field "Functional Location" is available. I also didn't find "Add New" button to add "Functional Location" field.

    I am sorry this is not possible.
    Note 140482:
    The field was created as a precaution. However, it is not being used at 
    present and consequently is not supplied.                               
    In particular, you cannot use the field as a criterion for a selection  
    in Asset Accounting reporting. This is still true even if this field has
    been included in the selection view delivered for the dynamic selections
    by modification.

       - MRP Controller (Reporting purpose)
       - MRP Group (Generally not a mandatory field) but certain parameters can be defaulted in configuration for an MRP group.
    MRP2
      - Procurement type
      - Special Procurement type (if special planning process is going to be used)
      - Inhouse Prodn / Planned delivery time
      - Schedule margin key
      - Safety Stock details if safety stock is planned for material
    MRP3
    - Strategy Group
    - Consumption mode and Forward consumption and Backward consumption details if it is a MTS strategy used.
    - Availability check (Group)
    MRP4
      - BOM Selection method
      - Individual and Collective indicator

    Can you tell me how i can include two fields in Equipment Master.
    1. For PO Number
    2. Po Line Item Number.
    If there is no standard field, can you please tell me if there is any Additional Fields that i can use for PO number and Line Item number pls.

    Hi,
    If you want PO and PO Line item to be included in the Equipment, you can create Characterics called Purchase Order and PO Line Item and then assign these characteristics to an equipment class (create one if you do not have an existing equipment class).
    Assign this Class to all the equipment you want, then you can input the PO and PO line items values into the characteristics.

  • Migration of Equipment Master Data together with PRT data

    Hello Experts,
    we need to migrate Equipment Master Data which have activated the view PRT data. Most of the fields in this view are stored in table CRFH. Is there a way to migrate Equipment Master Data together with the PRT data of the Equipment? All the BAPI's I found do not have an import structure for those fields. Is a batch-input the only way?
    Does anybody know a mass change transaction for Equipments?

    Hi Krishna,
    You can use the standard batch input program RFBIDE00 in LSMW to update the customer master data. However, there might be scenarios where you might be required to update the fields which do not get updated by the standard bacth input program. If any of such fields are defined as mandatory, then you wont be able to use this method directly.
    In such cases you will have to either create a recording to poplate the fields which do not get updated by the standard program and use both the recording and the standard batch input program to update the customer master data OR create a recording for customer master create and use the same in LSMW.

    Construction Type is used for identify the equipments having similar construction of materials.
    For examples: Identical Mechanical seal used in different pumps.
    A BOM can be linked to a technical object in two ways:
    By direct assignment: directly assigned BOM
    If you create a bill of material directly for a technical object, it is assigned directly. If all the technical objects are identical in terms of structure, the BOM items are valid for all the allocated technical objects.
    By indirect assignment: indirectly assigned BOM
    For technical objects that have a material BOM - if you enter a material number in the Construction type field of a master record, the material BOM is indirectly assigned to the object. This is a good idea when a company has several identical technical objects grouped under one material number.

    When you do the serialization for Motor, you can create the equipment master for that motor when  you make the GR for that motor against PO & The status of the equipment will be ESTO. Hence further when ever you make any goods movememnt against that material number system will always ask you the serial number & history will get updated against serial number as well as equipment master.
    Following activities will be possible for serial number & equipment number.
    1. Transfer of material (Equipment + serial number) from plant to plant (Here you can triger equipment master update when this transfer is taking place. Like maintenance plant change).
    2. Transfer of equipment from one functional location to another functional location
    3. Trasfer of the equipment from store to functional location & functional location to store.
    You can update the master records of equipmant as per your requirement with help of User exist & BAPIs by taking help of ABAP person.

  • Equipment Master data changing automatically

    Dear All,
    this is weird but our SAP system is changing equipment's master data once it is created.
    we have blocked all the possible chances of using T code "IE02-EQUIPMENT MASTER DATA CHANGE" at user end.
    we are finding it very difficult to track because every time the equipment's action log displays new SAP ID's . we have checked with same ID but any where it is not possible for that user to have an authorization for IE02
    it mainly changes the master data such as description/Manufacturer/Model number etc into some weird information. and this is happening at any  time where in some cases it has been found that at 3:00 am or 4:00 am. we had also checked any background job is running  at same timing but we couldn't found out any such case and this is happening without any prior notice so it is difficult for us also to monitor the same

    I fee that you must investigate through table CDHDR. Run Tcode SE16 --> Give value CDHDR --> Enter.
    Here input values as under ( OBJECTCLAS, OBJECTID, USERNAME) and Execute.
    In the output, you observe the values of fields TCODE, UDATE. You will come to know whether these changes are happening through IE02 or some other Tcode.
    Also you should try without giving the USERNAME also. In this case you will get the lines of both normal changes and surprise change also in the output, where you are likely to find out what is happening.
    In a similar way, you can investigate through table CDPOS also.
