Planning function Analyzer

Dear all,
I have a planning function where I want to copy from multiple periods to an other period range. I read in a how-to-guide I could use this:
VAR_NAME_1     1     ZPERIODFROM
VAR_VALUE_1     1     2007001
VAR_VALUE_1     1     2007002
VAR_LINES_1     1     2
VAR_NAME_2     1     ZPERIODTO
VAR_VALUE_2     1     2008001
VAR_VALUE_2     1     2008002
VAR_LINES_2     1     2
But it only uses the last period 002. Is this something I can only use in combination with a planning sequence and not in a planning function?
Thanks.
Regards,
J.

Could you please try the following. It should work:
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/07/ff413a3ace7022e10000000a11402f/content.htm
VAR_NAME_1          1  ZPERIODFROM
VAR_SIGN_1            1  I
VAR_OPERATOR_1  1 EQ
VAR_VALUE_1         1  2007001
VAR_NAME_2          1  ZPERIODFROM
VAR_SIGN_2            1  I
VAR_OPERATOR_2  1 EQ
VAR_VALUE_2         1  2007002
VAR_NAME_3          1  ZPERIODTO
VAR_SIGN_3            1  I
VAR_OPERATOR_3  1 EQ
VAR_VALUE_3         1  2008001
VAR_NAME_4           1  ZPERIODTO
VAR_SIGN_4            1  I
VAR_OPERATOR_4  1 EQ
VAR_VALUE_4         1  2008001
if you are using the external representation of the variable value you need to use
VAR_VALUE_EXT_1

  • Workbook not refresh after running Planning Function (BI-IP)

    Hi! Folks,
         I have a problem with the Bex Analyser which not refresh the data after running Planning Function.
    Step 1: Run Planning Function (There are some changes in records)
    Step 2: I have to Run Process Variables again and input the same selection in the pop-up variables
    Step 3: The changed records will be shown...
    Can I have some coding in the Layouts of Bex Analyzer to refresh the data after running Planning Function?
    Brgds,
    Supasake

    Hi,
    I had a similar problem that the resuls of my planning function were not automatically shown. Only if I did "something else" like saving or running another function the results were displayed.
    I think I solved it by upgrading my SAP GUI6.4 with patch 14. the results of planning functions should be automatically displayed.

  • How can I create a Text-Input Field in BexAnalyzer for a Planning Function

    Hello,
    i want to create a pre calculation(contribution accounting) for Materials in BI-Integrated Planning. These Materials aren't in the master data. So I create a new Info Object for pre calculated materials with only a material-number as key and a text-description.
    Now I want to write a Exit-Function, which creates new materials in these Info Object. The user should start this function in a planning application in BexAnalyzer. There the user should have the possibility to enter a text-description for the new material. How can I create such a Text-Field in BexAnalyzer and how can I read this text filed in a planning function (exit).
    Thanks in advance

    Hi Jürgen,
    you can create a parameter for this in the exit function and a variable for the parameter. In BEx Analyzer then create a button for the planning function; in the button parameterization use VAR_NAME = , i.e. use an Excel formula here to get the value from an Excel input field.
    The command range should be some 'hidden area' in your Excel sheet.
    But may be you don't need this. Use a characteristic without master data. Then ensure that that the query uses the option 'key' as display. In new lines you can then enter the key, the system creates a SID on the fly (but the text table will not be updated). In this scenario you may take text also from the key. May be you can update the text table (online or in batch) by simply using function modules from function group RSNDI_MD (not released by SAP).
    But observere that the system in BI Planning reads only the active version, i.e. if you change something on the fly the changes may not be visible.

  • Macro Error while executing planning functions or saving data

    Dear All,
    I am getting following error in BEx Analyzer while executing planning function or pressing a save button.
    Note: Excel is 2007 version.
    Cannot run the macro "XXXXXX.xlsx". The macro may not be available in this workbook or all macros may be disabled.
    I changed the settings in Macro Settings (Office Button -> Excel Options -> Trust Center -> Trust Center Settings-> Macro Settings) eventhough it is showing that above message.
    selected ->
    Enalble all macros
    Trust access to VBA project object model.
    If anybody faced this issue kindly reply to this.
    Best Regards,

    Hello everybody,
    i am facing exactlythe same issue! I am currently running GUI Patch Level 14 and BI Add on Patch Level 10.
    I have also adjusted all necessary settings in Excel Options like Activate all Macros and Trust VBA Coding.
    Does anybody have another Solution.
    As mentioned before Gui Patch 13 and BI Add On Patch 10 obviously arent the solutiuon.

  • IP: Use of input-ready variable in planning function

    Dear all,
    I'm using an input-ready variable for fiscal year (0P_FYEAR) in my input ready query. It's used for restricting my columns.
    I'd like to use the value of this variable in my planning function and I use VARV for that in the FOX.
    However, when implementing the pl.function as a button in the BEx Analyzer I need to fill in the static parameters the VAR_VALUE_1 with a value.
    If I delete this line from the static parameters my plfunction end swith an error.
    I like this value of course to be filled with value of fiscal year entered by the user when starting the query.
    Does anybody know how to solve this?
    Kind regards, Harjan

    Hi Johannes,
    Thanks for all the useful information!
    Another thing on using PF.
    I've got two workbooks with different queries but using <u>same</u> filter.
    Queries differ in keyfigures, but are on same cubes in MultiProvider.
    I can run the workbooks simultaneously: no locks occur.
    I've got two planning functions that make calculations on the keyfigures entered in the workbook.
    However when I inplement the PF's in both workbooks and assign the dataprovider as filter, i do get locks!
    So, the PF also uses the same filter, but doesn't take into account the different keyfigures.
    In the fox-formula i don't have the option to make conditions on keyfigure values (field keyfigname), neither to enter them in the filter.
    Do you have any thoughts on this?
    <u>Second</u> point:
    When i filter on a navigational attribute and execute the pf, i get errors on my pf.
    It states it can't find the value of the characteristic to which the navigational attr belongs. F.i. when i filter on nav attr 'customer group'  (attr of char 'customer') and execute pf, the system gives an error on the value of char 'customer'.
    It states: value of characteristic customer is notincluded in the selection.
    Any thoughts on this one?
    Thanks in advance!
    Kind regards, Harjan

  • BPS Planning Function Performance

    Dear all,
    In our projects we've faced the following problem.
    We have BPS user-exit planning function. This function should process a large amount of data. And, of course, performance of this processing is very critical!
    To increase performance we divided whole data amount into subsets and launch mentioned PF for each subset in background within separated thread ([http://help.sap.com/erp2005_ehp_04/helpdata/EN/c4/3a7f1f505211d189550000e829fbbd/frameset.htm], [http://help.sap.com/erp2005_ehp_04/helpdata/EN/fa/096e92543b11d1898e0000e8322d00/frameset.htm])
    But now the problem:
    Processing time for first thread is more, than 15 minutes of 35.000 records.
    For second one - 5 sec(!!!) for 25.000
    Third thread - 4 sec for 20.000
    and so on...
    In some threads calculation time also increases to 10-15 minutes for one thread. Statistic of calculation is below

    Your advices

    Hello Dmitry,
    take a look at the runtime statistics in transaction BPS_STAT0 (You might have to turn them on and re-run your process). This will show you where the time is spend (database or BPS).
    If it's database time, then get your Basis Team involved. Check that DB stats are up-to-date, check that InfoCube requests are rolled-up/compressed, do SQL trace and analyze the DB execution plan, etc.
    If it's BPS time, then it's probably something in your exit function. An ABAP trace (SE30) should help to nail down the root cause.
    Processing packages is parallel is in general a good way to make it run faster. However, if the packages are too small the overhead will actually reduce performance. I would start with 5 parallel processes.

  • Planning  function

    Hi all,
    how can i automatically execute planning function when the layout is open.
    is it possible in IP.

    Yes you can, as Mayank said, in the Web Analyzer is the option.
    Instead of Web Analyzer, if  you're using the Bex Analyzer, in the case of netweaver 2004's, I use the macro functionality (excel functionality).
    Once you are designing the workbook, you can specify in the "options Workbook" a macro that can be executed. first select the "General" tab, select the "Refresh workbook on Open", in the "Exits" tab, select "invoke macro on refresh" and specify the macro name. in the macro you can launch the same action to execute anything that you previously details in your buttons or planning functions.
    Hope it is suitable for you.

  • Rsplan filter for planning function

    Hi.
    When creating button in bex analyzer for launching some planning function there is point Use selection from Data Provider

  • Permissions for Planning functions, queries and workbooks

    Hello experts,
    i have a short question about permissions in SAP BW and BW-IP. How can I restrict the execution of planning functions/sequences and queries or workbooks?
    Thanks and regards!

    Hello,
    If you record an authorization log for your planning sequence you can see what objects are checked and this should help you to create authorizations to restrict access:
    To record authorization logs for planning sequences, you have to go to RSECADMIN, activate that trace for the user and run the planning sequence as usual. See detailed steps below:
    1. Activate the authorization log
    - Go to RSECADMIN transaction
    - change to "Analysis" tab and click on "Error logs" button.
    - There you can see the "Configure Log Recording". Click on it.
    - It will open a new screen, add the user which need to has the authorization log recorded.
    - save it.
    2. Open a new windows and execute the planning sequence.
    - you can use the RSPLS_PLSEQ_EXECUTE report in se38 or other way to run it
    3. Deactivate the authorization log recording
    - following the same steps to activate the log, delete the user which you added in the step 1.
    4. Check the authorization log
    - Go back to RSECADMIN transaction
    - change to "Analysis" tab and click on "Error logs" button.
    - select the time interval to find your authorization log (or delete selections to see all)
    - click on "display" button
    - find your recorded log
    - double click on it to open the log
    - analyze it.

  • Documentation for new Planning function types in 2004s

    Hello,
    We are analyzing the impact of migrating former BPS exit planning funtions to the new BI Planning function types. In fact, we are checking the SAP procedure for reusing the BPS exits from BI Planning, although I would like to know if there is some kind of procedure or documentation (I have already read the documentation in Business planning developer guide) for a quick reimplementation in BIP.
    Thank you for your help.

  • BI IP - Planning Function Type Formula Error "Characteristic not Supported"

    Hi all,
    I have created a planning function type formula with very simple code. The code was copied from SAP Library and FISCPER was replaced with 0CALDAY. I continue to get an error 'Characteristic 0CALDAY is not supported".
    The characteristic 0CALDAY is in the Infoprovider and the aggregation level. I have tried 'To Characteristic Usage' with both changed and in condition.
    DATA D1 TYPE D.
    DATA D2 TYPE D.
    DATA I1 TYPE I.
    DATA I2 TYPE I.
    DATA CALDAY TYPE 0CALDAY.
    FOREACH CALDAY.
    CALCULATE 1ST DAY OF ZCALEND
    D1 = C2DATE( CALDAY, S ).
    CALCULATE LAST DAY OF CALDAY
    D2 = C2DATE( CALDAY, E ).
    CALCULATE THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN LAST AND 1ST DAY MINUS TWO DAYS
    I2 = 2.
    I1 = D2 - D1 - I2.
        MESSAGE I001(UPF) WITH 'DIFFERENCE' I1.
    ENDFOR.
    Thank you in advance for any help.
    Teri

    Thank you very much for your reply. What would you suggest? I must use 0CALDAY.  As you can tell I am very new to IP, I have tried other options for example:
    DATA ZDAYS TYPE I.
    DATA ZDT TYPE ZCALSTART.
    DATA ZDF TYPE ZCALEND.
    ZDT = ZCALSTART.
    ZDF = ZCALEND.
    ZDAYS = ZDT-ZDF.
    {KF,ZDT,ZDF} = ZDAYS.
    I received an error "ZCALSTART could not be recognized"
    I also tried to call a function. 'FIMA_DAYS_AND_MONTHS_AND_YEARS'.
    DATA D1 TYPE D.
    DATA D2 TYPE D.
    DATA DD TYPE I.
    DATA CALS TYPE ZCALSTART.
    DATA CALE TYPE ZCALEND.
    D1 = CALS.
    D2 = CALE.
    CALL FUNCTION 'FIMA_DAYS_AND_MONTHS_AND_YEARS'
      EXPORTING
        I_DATE_FROM          = D1
      I_KEY_DAY_FROM       =
        I_DATE_TO            = D2
      I_KEY_DAY_TO         =
      I_FLG_SEPARATE       = ' '
    IMPORTING
       E_DAYS               = DD.
      E_MONTHS             =
      E_YEARS              =
    I received an error "Types of parameter I_DATE_FROM () and variable D1(D) are inconsistent".  From what I could find they should be consistant.  Please provide any suggestions. Thank you!

  • BI-IP: Change of characteristic value in ABAP EXIT planning function

    Hi
    I have created a planning function of the type EXIT with reference data without blocks. In method IF_RSPLFA_SRVTYPE_IMP_EXEC_REF~EXECUTE I am going to implement my code.
    Now, one of the purposes is to update the VALIDTO of an existing record. Is it possible to modify the characteristic values directly in C_TH_DATA (thus allowing me to just update the date directly on the record) or can I only append records?
    Cheers!
    /Karsten

    Hi Larse,
    Yes you can change directly your value in a record withou appending a new one,but still it will create 2 records in the delta buffer ready to be save to the cube.
    Reagrds,
    Eitan.

  • BI-IP - Bex Analyser - select excel single row and aplly planning function

    Hi experts,
    In BI-IP (BW 7) with Bex Analyser, is it possible to select a single excel row (or a range of rows) and then apply a planning function? I know that in WAD it's possible with the binding option to select a single web item.
    The purpose is to apply a revaluation factor to selected (by the user) cost elements rows in the workbook.
    Thanks and regards,
    MA

    Hi
    It is possibel in WAD to select one or many rows while executing Functions such as--Reposting; Revaluation etc.
    However, you should be in a position to select the rows based on....unique identifier such as Require ID; Request #; Serial #; ....this is more so in case of multiple entries for the same cost element for different combinations.

    Hi Bhima
    Try one of these; it should work:
    1. If you are on SP 14 you would need to upgrade to SP 15. It would work fine
    2. If not, then -
