The Planning method/Basic and Planning method/forecast field values are grey in my project profile.
What customization would influence for this setting. I wish to change from 2 to 4. Please advise the solution/

You can change the above field values only from WBS scheduling profile. If you want to change them, choose 'free scheduling' method.

  • Will Characteristic Derivation in KEPM using Plan Method COPY

    Dear All,
While performing Planning using KEPM transaction with Plan Method Copy. Characteristic Derivation is not working.
    System Construction
We have put a derivation step in KEDR that needs to populate a Custom Characteristic WWXXX with a certain value. The Condition for this step is PLIKZ(plan\actual) indicator should be equall to 1.
We are copying Actual data to plan using the Plan Method COPY.The Custom Characteristic is not updated while posting actual data. However we want it to be updated while planning, hence the derivation rule. However, it is not getting update.
Note: In COPA Plan Version "Check Derivation" is selected. and We have tested in KE21S it was working fine
    Thanks & Regards

    Hi,
    it is copy/paste.
"Move" can be used if you want just a sequence "345" from a characteristic "123456" by using the "detail" button in the step definition.
If you want to remove the characeristic from a field, make a "clear" step.

  • KEPM planning method "customer enhancement"

    Dear all,
I want to use the planning method "customer enhancement" in transaction KEPM. The planning level has been defined as well as the corresponding planning package. I also activitated the user exit COPA0006 which is behind this enhancement.
When executing the planning method no data are selected and as a result the user exit is not performed.  If I use the same planning package but a different method (e.g. copy) data will be selected and the method is executed.
Does anybody have any experience with the user exit COPA0006?
    Thanks a lot in advance
    Best regards Dorothee

It worked when I created ran the integration model for a Pur Info record. I guess this works only if we had a source list ( as briefly touched upon in the BADI documentation). If any one has a different take on it, please share with me and I will really appreciate it.
    Thanks.

  • Planning Method in Item attribute

    dear expert,
can anyone explain, may be by example, the purpose of using MRP/MPP, MPS/MPP, or others planning method in item attribute MPS/MRP Planned.
    Regards

The manual has detailed example but in a nutshell...
MPS planning is when you have a fixed schedule your floor follows irrespective of demand.
MRP planning is when you want to buy/make an item based on the demand.

  • How to combine 3 Plan methods?

    Hi: Everybody
Can you tell me how to combine 3 Plan methods?
Reorder point, Replenish to maximum stock level, and "PD" plan type.
Users want sap automatically generate PR when stock is lower reorder point, and automaticlly replenish to maximum stock level. inaddition, this material is component of finish goods, so it also can run "PD" planning.
via my test, PR gerenated either by reorder point or "PD" planning. But the methods can't be used together.
Everybody can direct me how to do?
    Thanks
    Henry

    Hi:Partha
I have retest your solution, that's ok for save this customized MRP type via your suggested profiles.
however, this "external requirements" just focus on customets requirements such as sales order. I don't need to create sales order for it. its customer requirements is from its parent not itself.
so, when I create a sales order for its parent, sap cann't automaticaly PR for it even if its stock is zero.
by the way, reorder point is OK for the customized MRP type.
    Thanks

  • Defaulting CO plan versions specific to cost plan method.

    Hi Experts
I wish to have dedicated CO plan versions as shown below:
    Z01: Overal planning
    Z02: Detailed planning
    Z03: Unit cost planning
    Z04: ECP
For ECP,  the CO plan version can be defauled. Similarly is there any provision to default the specific CO plan versions for the remaining cost plan methods?
This helps in preventing the selection of inappropriate version. And also provides clarity that the version it self indicates the cost plan method.
    Request experts to comment.

kindly  Guide  me step be step of both scope of planning and quota Arrangement.what is difference in both.and which process  is easy. and how i will send Demand managment to all  4 plant for MRP run.in both case.
Now for MTO.same there are 4 plant and want run only one MRP.can i do from scope of planning or Quota Arrangement.
kindly guide me for both MTO and MTS.only one MRP run for 4 plant
    Regards
    Aqueel

    Aqueel,
You have asked about many topics.  It is not clear what exact business objective you are trying to accomplish.
Quota arrangements has to do with the determination of  sources of supply.  It is not the same as running MRP in multiple plants.
MRP in ECC normally runs plant-by-plant.  You can create a scope of planning, in which you specify the order of plants that MRP runs against.  In this case, you execute MRP once, and in the background, MRP looks at the list of plants you have created, and then runs against the first plant, the second plant, the third plant, and so on.  During the MRP job with Scope of Planning, the MRP processing programs do not run against multiple plants simultaneously, they complete one plant, and then move onto the next, and so on, until the end of the scope of planning list.  You can configure scope of planning in OM0E.
Now you ask about two types of planning methods for materials, one is MTO and one is MTS.  I guess you want to run MRP for the MTS only, against the 4 plants.  You could define the MTS materials as MPS relevant, (change MRP type to M*) and then run an MPS job instead of an MRP job.  In this case, MPS (MD40 et al), which is very similar to MRP, runs only against the MPS parts.  If this workaround is not satisfactory, then you can use the standard MRP selection userexit (M61X0001) to define a specific suite of parts to run MRP against (such as "all MTS parts").  If you combine either of these solutions (MPS or userexit) with scope of planning, you can then run only the MTS parts against the 4 plants in your scope of planning, all in one job.  You didn't speak of when/how you want to run the MTO parts, but you could do the same thing for these parts as well.
If, however, you wish to run both MTS and MTO parts in a single MRP run, against 4 plants, then just use scope of planning.
Demand management is not directly related to MRP.  You can create Planned independent requirements for any combination of parts that you desire.  These requirements, once activated, will cause MRP to run net requirements calculations, and produce procurement proposals (PurchReqs or PlndOrds or PurchScheds).

  • SOP - Flexible Planning u2013 Demand Management.

    Hello Gurus
Can any one guide me  SOP - Long term plannng  / Flexible Planning  - Transfer to demand managment Process
    Thanks
    JJ
    Edited by: JJ_SAP_S on Jul 28, 2008 12:24 AM

    Hi,
Transferring SOP  to Demand Management :
    Use:
You can pass on data planned in Flexible Planning or Standard SOP to Demand Management.
Demand Management determines the requirement dates and requirement quantities for important assemblies and specifies the strategies for planning and producing/procuring finished products. The result of Demand Management is the demand program. The demand program differentiates planned independent requirements and customer independent requirements. It gives the information needed in MPS and MRP for planning at SKU level. The placing of sales orders eventually consumes planned requirements and triggers updating to the Sales Information System. This actual data can then be used as input for future sales planning. For more information, see PP Demand Management.
    Prerequisites:
The system distributes the data to the appropriate plants in Demand Management on the basis of the quotas you set in Customizing (in Define proportional distribution across plants). You can also make these settings in the Flexible Planning or Standard SOP menu by choosing Settings ® Plant distribution. Plant distribution works as follows:
If a plant or plants can be found for the material in the planning hierarchy, data is transferred to Demand Management for these plants.
If no plant can be found in the planning hierarchy, the system checks to see which plants have been maintained for the material in the material master record. It then checks to see whether distribution quotas have been maintained for the material. If quotas have been maintained, the transfer to Demand Management is based on these quotas.
If no distribution quotas are found for the material, the system checks to see whether you have set generic distribution quotas; that is, distribution quotas that apply to all materials. If so, the transfer to Demand Management is based on these quotas. If generic quotas exist for some but not all plants maintained in the material master record, the system assumes that the distribution quotas of plants without generic quotas are 0.
If no distribution quotas are found at allu2014neither material-specific nor generic onesu2014, the system splits the data equally among all the plants in the material master record.
    See also:
    Plant Distribution Quotas
    Features
Independent requirements are created in Demand Management for all materials whose data has been transferred. These independent requirements are created in the base unit of measure of the material. The base unit of measure of the material is not necessarily the same as the base unit of measure of the information structure or the unit in which you planned the material. See also Switching Units in the Planning Table.
You can transfer SOP data to Demand Management in the following ways:
    Transferring Online, Synchronously and Automatically:
You set the following information structure parameters in Customizing for Sales & Operations Planning (in Set parameters of info structures and key figures).
Field name of the key figure whose values are to be transferred
Planning version from which the data is to be transferred
Demand version to which the data is to be transferred
The system creates or overwrites independent requirements in Demand Management every time you save this planning version of the information structure in Flexible Planning.
    Transferring Online, Asynchronously and Manually
You choose between the following options:
Transfer of the planning data of all members of a single-level product group from standard SOP (a single-level product group is a product group whose members are materials)
Transfer of the planning data created for one material from standard SOP
Transfer of key figure values from an information structure
You make the following general settings:
The material or product group whose data you want to be transferred
The plant of this material or product group
The planning version of the information structure in which the data is stored
The dates for which you want the data to be transferred
Whether you want to check what the data looks like as independent requirements before you transfer it
    The requirements type
If you do not make an entry, the system sets the requirements type via the MRP group which is maintained in the material master record.
The version of the demand program to which you want the data to be transferred
Whether this version of the demand program is active and therefore relevant to MRP
Depending on the option you chose in step 1, you set one of the following strategies.
Transferring Planning Data from a Single-Level Product Group:
You transfer the sales plans of the materials direct.
You transfer the sales plans of the materials as proportions of their owner product group (using the proportional factors defined in the product group master record).
You transfer the production plans of the materials direct.
You transfer the production plans of the materials as proportions of their owner product group (using the proportional factors defined in the product group master record).
Transferring Planning Data of One Material from Standard SOP:
You transfer the sales plan of the material direct
You transfer the sales plan of the material as a proportion of the product group of which it is a member (using the proportional factor defined in the product group master record)
You transfer the production plan of the material direct
You transfer the production plan of the material as a proportion of the product group of which it is a member (using the proportional factor defined in the product group master record)
Transferring Key Figure Data of One Material from Flexible Planning
The information structure from which you want the key figure data to be transferred
The key figure whose values you want to be transferred
This key figure must be a quantity key figure.

  • SOP planning periods

We are planning products in SOP where the planning period is a generated period (weeks and months). Planning will be done first in period weeks and then in months i.e., the requirements will be entered for first 4 periods as weeks and then for next 2 periods as months.
    Example
    Planning
    Period           Requirements
    Week 1     100
    Week 2     250
    Week 3     300
    Week 4     400
    Month 1     1500
    Month 2     2000
Now we redesigned our planning period pattern as days, weeks and months.
i.e., Week 1 and Week 2 as days then weeks and months as above.
    Example
    Day 1
    Day 2
    Day 15
    Week 1
    Week 2
    Month 1
    Month 2
In Set parameters for info structures and key figures if we define the planning periodicity as T (Day), W (Week), M (Month) and generate the period, the system is giving an information message
No technical period generated for period unit 'day'
    Message no. MA866
And the period is automatically changed to day.
Period unit 'day' is used as planning period unit
    Message no. MA859
There is NO PERIOD GENERATION in the info structure?
Is it possible to generate the period pattern as Days, weeks and months ? How ?
    Thanks
    Soundar

    Dear rajesha
The fiscal year variant will be generated when you save the set parameters for info structure.
In this case the the planning period is chaged to days and no fiscal year variat is generated.
    Thanks
    Soundar

  • What is Formula for 'BS' Method of Extended Safety Stock Planning ?

    Hello SNP Experts,
I have a Important Question regarding Extended Safety Stock Planning Calculation in SNP Module.
I have read the SCM Help, SDN Forums and SNP Training Course help, but am unable to find the Formula to Calculate Safety Stocks using the Beta Service Level (Method 'BS') for the Extended Safety Stock Planning Methods.
Reading the help, training material, past SDN Questions I do understand the Standard Formula for Safety Stock is ...
    S.S  = ServiceLevel x SQRT (ReplLeadTime) x StdDevDemand
However there are Factors like below that are definable in the Location-Product Master ...
    1.  Forecast Error %
    2.  Replenishement Lead Time Error %
    3.  Min & Max Safety Stock Levels
    4.  Beta Service Level
    5.  Max. Stock Level
How are these Factors used ? What is the Formula using these Parameters to Calculate the Safety Stock ? The Calculation in SCM-APO is not clear from anywhere.
I am specifically interested in the Method "BS".
Can anyone Guide me ?  Points Guaranteed if a reply covers the exact question above (I have done some research before raising this question on Forum).
    Regards,
    Ambrish Mathur

    Harish,
I'd seen these forums already.  Thanks for responding.
This 'secretive' calculation is quite annoying.  If SAP does not Publish any documentation around the Formula, how can the Customer be convinced to use SAP's Safety Stock Calculations (no wonder many SAP Customers are going the 'ToolsGroup' way of Safety Stock Calculations).
On Safety Factor (I saw in your notes) I am aware that
a factor of 2.33 equates to 98.6% service Level from long back based on Normal Distribution.  The Formula as known much earlier is this ...
SS = SafetyFact x SQRT (RepLeadTime) x StdDevDemand.
    based on Normal Distribution.
However there are new Fields in APO since ...
Is there no documentation whatsoever on how the 2 Fields -  1. Forecast Error %
    2. Replenishement Lead Time Error %
are used at all in the SS Calculation ?
Where do these New MasterData Parameters Plug-in ?
The other change now is in SS Planning, the SSs could be different for each Time Bucket in Future.  How does Beta Service Level also impact the Calculation ?
Is there a URL / Book someone can point me to ?

    Ambrish

  • SOP - Routing data consideration in the Sales and operation planning

    Hi,
Please share knowledge how to take the consider routing while doing the sales and operation planning.
I have done the resource planning in the sop and it is picking the data's from the rought cut profile also. As per sap help it is mentioned that in sop we can use routing or rate routing also to do the resource planning in sop.
Where the setting to be done?
If answered.. full pointed will be rewarded....

    Hi,
    Thanks for your reply.
As per my knowledge T-code will be OPU4 for the Sales and operation planning.
The T code OPU5 is applicable for planned orders not for SOP internal orders.
I have checked the senario and reverting back to you.
Did you checked the senarios for the resorce leveling with out creating the rough cut planning profile by t code mc35?
Please give you yahoo or gmail messanger or telephone number ....

  • Reg SOP and flexible planning

    Dear all,
Please explain what is the difference between SOP and flexible planning, similarly in an industry when do use Longterm planning, when we will use SOP and when we use Flexible planning, when we should use MRP planning
    Please advice
    regards
    venkat

    Dear,
    Standard SOP:-
Standard SOP, you work with one organizational unit, the product group hierarchy, and plan predefined key figures in a planning table with a set layout. All plans in Standard SOP are based on the standard information structure S076.
If there are more regions for an organization, planning can not be done at different region or different sales organization level using Standard SOP.
    Flexible Planning:-
Flexible Planning, on the other hand, can be based on any information structure of your choice, either a self-defined information structure or a standard information structure.
If there are more regions for an organization, planning can be done at different region or different sales organization level using Flexible planning
Please refer my reply from this thread,
