Planning Provisioning Manager

Planning 11.1.1.3
I have provisioned a user as Provisioning Manager on one of my Planning apps but this does not give her the ability to go to Administration - Manage Database to refresh Security Filters. I am trying to avoid giving admin rights for fear of having her accidentally select Create. It would seem that a provisioning manager would need to be able to refresh security filters? Am i just missing a piece or does she need to be an admin?

Provisoning manager is a role for shared services, the role allows a user to provision users/groups to a specified planning application in HSS.
Admins perform managing refreshing in planning.

When I login the Planning application with only the 'Provision Manager' role, the system will display the error message below:

I tried to sychronize manually using the command UpdateUsers.cmd, it still showed like this:

Cannot login to application: XXXX
However, if adding a Planner or Reviewer role, it will go well without any error.
BTW: Where can we find the error code(like 0xb1221) annotation?

It wont work, you cant use Provisioning Manager Role alone to login to Planning Application, Its a Shared Services Role to provision users.To identify the actual use to the role have a look at:

Provisioning Manager Business Edition on Linux

Has anyone successfully installed and configured the Linux Version of Provisioning manager that came with the BE6000 8.6 bundle?
I can get the IP/Network config done using the Quick Start Guide, but then the guide references logging in with admin, and doing root_enable, then setup SSL Certificate. Anybody knows what the missing/correct steps are to get this up and running.

Thanks Andrew - fortunately I didn't have to re-install. Just changed the last 6 digits of the MAC to 11:11:11 and the web interface loads.
The documentation I have been using for this install is lacking, especially for a non-Linux head like myself.

Below are my very crude notes in hopes they will be of use to someone. There are likely some errors, but should get you on the right track.
These notes from the above link start at "Installing OpenSSL and Generating a Certificate"
Install SSL - as root
Attach ISO to the VM as a CD Drive then:

Cisco Provisioning Manager 2.1 bulk service area detailed configuring

Hi folks,
I'm really stuck and need some help desperately.
I have bought Cisco Provisioning Manager 2.1 for 5000 handsets and I have isntalled the product ok however I am now at the stage where I need to configure the service areas. I have some 45 sites which equates to about 350 service areas.
Service Area for each site with the following differences:
- Odd Device, Present CLI
- Even Device, Present CLI
- Odd Device, Restrict CLI
- Even Device, Restrict CLI
Can someone please advise me a way to bulk configure these detailed attributes with some tool or a let me know of a customer northbound API application that has been written to do make this painful exercise much less painful?
I estimate its going to take me 5 weeks full time to click through each thing and configure it..

You can bulk load (with batch provisioning) the Service Areas... I did this by exporting my phones into a CSV file from Communications Manager, and then filtered it for the fields required for the SAs. How to provision Softphone at Prime Collaboration Provisioning Manager

Hi All,
Just wondering is there anyway to provision Jabber andriod / iPhone by using Prime Collaboration Provisioning Manager?
In the selectProduct.jpg does not show any "enable Softphone Support" ........
Besides that, in the phoneType.jpb does not show "Cisco Jabber for Android / iPhone.
Even though, the Subscriber Role Type had tick for Cisco Jabber for Android & iPhone.
Soneone had any solution?

Hi Mark,
"Admin Distinguished name" should be the name of the user that should be present in LDAP user search scape you have provided.
I suppose you have locally also created the same LDAP user on CPCA with different password (same passowrd doens't matter).
Let me know whether you are still getting same issue.

Finally, the solution of the problem was:
1-stop the daemon manager “net stop crmdmgtd”
2- Delete the xml files available under(please take backup from them) :
CSCOpx\objects\sir\work
CSCOpx\objects\topo\work
3-Start the daemon manager net start crmdmgtd (wait for 20 minutes until all process are up )

Is your question technical or functional; that is are you asking who should be responsible for the content of the budget planning or how it's technically to do it in SAP?
If the first is correct, then it's for your budget officer to clarify it. There is nothing to be done by MM consultant, as MM is automatically integrated within FM framework for budgetary aspects. It's up to your FM consultant to set up the budget and take of relevant derivation rules.

Strategy, Planning and Managing bulk updates to large fleet of Windows Servers 2003-2012

a major project at my new job using SCCM is to push out in an organised fashion updates to its fleet of 500+ windows servers. Numbers: 50+ 2003, 50 x 2008, 200x 2008r2, 200x 2012.
This is spread across DC's, File/print, Exchange, Lync, FIM, App, SQL, Orchestrator, with many clustered/NLB, others not.
I am struggling to piece together a plan to attack which server first, in an organised, planned fashion but using collections and SCCM. We also have Orchestrator, although I am not that experienced in using it (but it may server my purposes better?)
I have already downloaded one software update group for all O/S: Server 2003- Server 2012.
I am only interested in the BASE Operating System (Server core, not Application, like exchange/lync).
What are at least the basic principle i should adhere to (ie. target non-critical first)?
Can I deploy updates to all at once, suppressing restart, and then just manage the restart process in a managed/documented fashion?
Can I, should I, depend on SCCM to process updates during assigned maintenance window, to apply updates and then initiate restart at deadline? (This hasnt worked as intended during workstation update deployment).
Should I use powershell/Orchestrator to control reboot process more precisely?
What groups of servers can i manage together and automate restarts during service windows etc.

Org Plan - change management

Anybody here with practical experience regarding transporting changes to org plan from a test to a productive client?
What changes can be distributed/transported, what is the tool (ALE or report), what are the restrictions?
- org units, EBP users (business partner, position, central person), attributes?
- reassignments of org units including all its employees?
- new employee for an org unit?
- change of employees attributes, e.g. slimapprover, spending limit, product category?

In the document you mention I understand the initial replication part but not the distribution of everyday's little changes.
I tried e.g. to change attribute with RHOMATTRIBUTES_REPLACE and could not even specify all needed attributes.
What happens e.g. to vendors and locations? They are part of the org plan, can they be transported? Since they are business partner does that mean this transport tool also distribute bp changes?

Unified Provision Manager 9.0 - not registering license

Hi,
I had installed Cisco Prime Unified Provsioning Manager 9.0 with the 'Evaluate Product' option selected.
We've since purchased and received our license file.
According to Cisco install guides, all I need to do to register the license is to copy the .lic file into the 'installed location/license' folder, which I've done. That folder now has a 'default.lic' file and our license file. The host id in the license file match the MAC of the host.
I've also tried to run the license audit as the install guide also suggests, but it's simply ignoring our license file.
I don't know why the license isn't being registered. Anyone got any ideas?

Cisco Unified Provisioning Manager (CUPM) 8.7 fails when syncing a freshly installed CUCM 8.6.2

I am facing an extremely annoying issue while evaluating CUPM 8.7 with CUCM 8.6.2.
The goal of the exercise is to build the business case for buying the product - but based on the results below it seems to achieve the opposite.
The initial Sync of a "virgin" CUCM (just installed from scratch with default config) fails consistently with
ERROR: Failed to sync ConferenceBridge
ERROR: Failed to sync VoiceMailPort
ERROR: Failed to sync VoiceMailPilot
ERROR: Failed to sync VoiceDeviceGroup
ERROR: Sync aborted due to errors.
However the sync works fine with CUCM 8.0 and CUC 8.6.2
If anyone has a solution, please share. I have spent hours and still not being able to figure out what the bug is.

CUOM 2.3 and CUOM 8.0 support only CUCM up to 8.0. For CUCM 8.5 support you will want to upgrade to CUOM 8.5

The jump from CUOM 2.3 to 8.5 will require an upgrade license. You may use Upgrade Tool and work with your sales/account team for further details on procurement.

In addition you may download an evalution copy from http://www.cisco.com/go/cuom which will become a full version once applying the appropriate licenses. In your case CUOM 2.0 + CUOM 8.0 upgrade.
