I assume you're referring to the Add-On Compatibility Checker disabling your extensions when you update?
To disable Add-On Compatibility Checking you can follow the following steps:
1) Enter "about:config" into the URL bar (no quotes)
2) Right click and create a New Boolean
3) Name it: extensions.checkCompatibility
4) Set it to: False
You can now restart Firefox and it will no longer disable your addons.
Keep in mind that without the Compatibility Checker Firefox can't guarantee that your extensions will work with the latest versions.

  • I cannot open my mail in hotmail. I cleared my cache and cookies, I reinstalled firefox, I tried disabling all add-ons and plug ins...nothing works. I don't understand, yesterday it worked just fine. Any help?

    Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.0; en-GB; rv:1.9.2.8) Gecko/20100722 Firefox/3.6.8 ( .NET CLR 3.5.30729; .NET4.0C)

You can remove all data stored in Firefox from a specific domain via "Forget About This Site" in the right-click context menu of an history entry ("History > Show All History" or "View > Sidebar > History") or via the about:permissions page.
Using "Forget About This Site" will remove all data stored in Firefox from that domain like bookmarks, cookies, passwords, cache, history, and exceptions, so be cautious and if you have a password or other data from that domain that you do not want to lose then make sure to backup this data or make a note.
You can't recover from this 'forget' unless you have a backup of the involved files.
It doesn't have any lasting effect, so if you revisit such a 'forgotten' website then data from that website will be saved once again.
Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode|Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).

  • Add Explicit Tag To Your Own Recordings?

In iTunes, when you purchase a song from the iTunes Store, or download a podcast, some of the content shows up with a red EXPLICIT label next to the song Name.
Well, what I'd like to know is, Is it possible to add this EXPLICIT tag to your own recordings? If so, how? For example, suppose you recorded your own piece of music (in GarageBand) that contained lots of swear words, it would be useful to add the EXPLICIT tag to it. And for all the CDs you Imported into iTunes that contain swear words, it would be useful to tag those as well.

Well, what I'd like to know is, Is it possible to add
this EXPLICIT tag to your own recordings?
No, you cannot add on this information yourself.

  • After recent upgrade I do not have my anti virus buttons in my toolbar any longer

Before upgrading to firefox 4 I had always had a button on the toolbar to my antivirus that securely saved my passwords, I can not get that back on my toolbar. I upgraded I.E. recently and it is still there.
I would prefer to keep using firefox however i need the Norton anti virus card manager button to continue.

  • I imported an existing form but I do not want to save it to the cloud but save locally. How do I change the imported file that is saved on the Cloud to storing locally?

I have imported a PDF document and it automatically saves it to the cloud.  I want the imported form to save locally? Is there a way to change an imported document from cloud to local?

    Hi urs.boeschenstein,
Files are automatically saved to your online account when you use the Acrobat.com online services. However, you can most certainly download the files to your computer, by selecting them at https://cloud.acrobat.com/files, and then clicking the Download icon.
Are you having additional issues with your subscription?
    Best,
    Sara

  • How to hide (not disable) one or multiple extension(s) in Add-ons Manager?

I have installed Play Music 1.6 on my computer. However, this extension shows up in the Add-ons Manager of my computer. I don't want anyone to be able to see the description nor disable this extension. My nephews use my computer frequently and I want to make sure they are not going to inappropriate websites.

Note that you still see the extension on the "Help > Troubleshooting Information" page and that starting in Safe mode will disable it like all other extensions (i.e. starting with Shift pressed is sufficient).

  • In Firefox 5.0 I cannot view add-ons and can't tell if they're running.

When I click on Tools | Add-ons, Firefox just takes me to the Mozilla Web page for add-ons instead of showing me a list of the add-ons installed on this machine. I can't tell what add-ons are running and which are not. I re-installed Forecastfox, but I still can't see the Forecastfox information icons at the bottom of the browser screen. Adblock Plus is running, but now it has its own place in the Tools menu, separate from other add-ons.

Whew! Thanks. I wasn't expecting the information to be in the browser window. And now that I selected View Add-on Bar I can see the Forecastfox weather info. Thank you again.

  • Extensions (Add-ons) shown in Extension manager are not in Photoshop cc 2014

I started with Photoshop cc and downloaded several Add-ons which I used, particularly Adobe Watermark. When Photoshop cc 2014 was released we realised that the majority of these Add-ons would not work in this new edition of Photoshop. Consequently I have to also run Photoshop cc as well to allow me to use these Add-ons.
If I open Adobe Extension Manager, and select under Products I see a list of all the Add-ons that work in Photoshop cc, which is correct. However if I select Photoshop cc 2014 I see a long list ( 16 Add-ons) which have enabled ticked by the side of the name. Only 5 of these actualy show  in Photoshop cc 2014, so something is wrong here.
I assume that Adobe Watermark is an Adobe product, so when are Adobe going to sort this out, and the problem in Adobe Extension Manager?

Flash based extensions are not supported by PS CC 2014 anymore. Please refer to http://blogs.adobe.com/photoshopdotcom/2014/04/photoshop-spring-cleaning.html, http://blogs.adobe.com/jkost/2014/06/installing-the-2014-release-of-creative-cloud.html
And http://blogs.adobe.com/crawlspace/2014/06/2014-release-of-photoshop-cc-faq.html#plugins (scroll down to "Why don’t my 3rd Panels show up in the 2014 release of Photoshop CC? What happened to Oil Paint, Mini-Bridge & Kuler?”)
If some extensions are not supported by PS CC 2014, you have to continue to use them in PS CC until their HTML based counterparts become available.

  • I keep getting the message "This search engine isn't supported by Firefox and can't be installed" whenever I try to install ANY search plugin on the Mozilla Add-ons website. Why?

No matter which search plugin I choose to install from the list of FireFox search plugins on the Mozilla Add-ons website, I get the same error message - "This search engine isn't supported by FireFox and can't be installed". I tried deleting the 3 files in my profile identified in the article on troubleshooting plugins, but it didn't help. I am running Firefox with administrator privileges, but that doesn't help. The problem appears to be only with search plugins. I can install other extensions that are not search plugins from the Mozilla Add-ons site, but not search plugins. I tried restarting FireFox and rebooting the computer severaltimes, but I keep getting the same error message when I try to install a search plugin.

If you are creating your own search plugins, be aware that you will get this same error if the path to the XML in your action script must be an absolute URL, even if the XML file is in the same location as the page that is pointing to it.
    IOW, this will never work:
    * window.external.AddSearchProvider('MySearchDefinition.xml');
    it must be:
    * window.external.AddSearchProvider('http://mysite.example.com/.../MySearchDefinition.xml');

  • The add-ons window does not appear when I go to Tool Add-ons.

A notice says: "A running script is insufficient...." often appears and I can not open my add-ons when I go to: Tool>Add-ons

Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of your add-ons is causing your problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).
See [[Troubleshooting extensions and themes]] and [[Troubleshooting plugins]]
If it does work in Safe-mode then disable all your extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears.
You can use "Disable all add-ons" on the [[Safe mode]] start window to disable all extensions.
You have to close and restart Firefox after each change via "File > Exit" (Mac: "Firefox > Quit"; Linux: "File > Quit")

  • Firefox keeps freezing when I try to open the add-ons menu.

When ever I try to open the Add-ons menu under Tools on my firefox, it keeps freezing. I also noticed that my time clock that is normally on the bottom right of my firefox window is no longer there either.

Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of your add-ons is causing your problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).
See [[Troubleshooting extensions and themes]] and [[Troubleshooting plugins]]
You can also try to delete the files extensions.* (extensions.rdf, extensions.cache, extensions.ini, extensions.sqlite) and compatibility.ini in the Firefox [[Profiles|profile folder]] to reset the extensions registry. New files will be created when required.
    See "Corrupt extension files": http://kb.mozillazine.org/Unable_to_install_themes_or_extensions
If you see disabled extensions that are not compatible on the next start in "Tools > Add-ons > Extensions" then click the "Find Updates" button to do a compatibility check.

  • I'm running Firefox 3.6.10 on Windows 7. For several days now I cannot access the "Add-ons" in the Tools menu. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks, Charles

Every time I try to access Add-ons, Firefox freezes and I get an "unresponsive script" warning that states, "A script on this page may be busy, or it may have stopped responding . . ." The script in question is nsExtensionManager.js:623. I reinstalled Firefox, but that didn't help.
    Thanks, Charles

This issue can be caused by the Personas 1.6.0 extension. If you have it then update to Personas 1.6.1
