"Please update iTunes to 11.0.5". Already did that.

Hello, I am trying to update my old ipad 2 that is version 4.3.1 via iTunes. iTunes prompts me to download iTunes 11.0.5 update, however, my iTunes version is already 11.0.5 and I can not try to update to iOS 7. Anyone know why this is?

I upgraded to iTunes 11.1, and that seems to have cured it. It's now allowing me to download OS7 for iPad.
Thanks!

    Hello there, kiwilucea.
The following Knowledge Base article offers up some in-depth steps for troubleshooting your issue:

Keep in mind if you get to Step 12 Reinstall iTunes, those steps need to be followed exactly as outlined for the reinstall to be effective.

I can't uninstall or update iTunes. I get an error message that it can't find the file itunes64.msi. where is it suppose to be?

    (1) Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility installer file (msicuu2.exe) from the following Major Geeks page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):
    http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4459
    (2) Doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file and follow the prompts to install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (If you're on a Windows Vista or Windows 7 system and you get a Code 800A0046 error message when doubleclicking the msicuu2.exe file, try instead right-clicking on the msicuu2.exe file and selecting "Run as administrator".)
    (3) In your Start menu click All Programs and then click Windows Install Clean Up. The Windows Installer CleanUp utility window appears, listing software that is currently installed on your computer.
    (4) In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
    (5) Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?

I've had all kinds of trouble keeping my iTunes software current over the past year, but have found the easiest way to remedy the issue is to simply download the latest version of iTunes as though I am a first-time user and then just install it into the directory my current version of iTunes is using. Doing this has allowed me to update my software without losing any of my media/data. Hope this helps! Best of luck!!!

I had a very similar problem, error 4251.  (look in your log you will see that error)  Since I finally fixed my problem, I thought I would see if I can help someone else.
What I found is that I lost burn ability in both iTunes AND Windows.  Like you did.  I did some digging and found that this wasn't hardware related at all.  In fact, this boils down to a registry key getting messed up.  (sigh) Yeah.  It causes the system to get a bad 'handle'.
OK, here's what to try.  Go to this Microsoft KB article.  Scroll down and find the *manual* instructions for Vista.  Delete the registry key that it specifies.  Reboot. Now verify that you can burn in Windows.  (If you have a RW disc, do a disc erase, or just try and burn from Windows Media Player.)  If that is working now,  you're on the right track.
Now the issue is that iTunes will still be broken.  Go and install the latest Gear driver.  (I know you may have done it, but do it again.)  Now follow the intructions in this Apple KB article to verify the "GEARAspiWDM" info is back there in the registry.  Now reboot.  Try and burn in iTunes.
    I hope this helps.

  • I bought an ipd shuffle for my daughter. I have old songs from frostwire that I downloaded on the shuffle.  When I try to play the songs, I get "Please use Itunes to sync music".  What does that mean?

I bought an ipod shuffle and downloaded old limewire songs onto it. The ipod says "Please use itunes to sync music".  What does that mean? Do I have to download from Itunes only?  thanks,  Jester

    Dear jester,
Apple created iTunes to try and stop piracy, and if you look at the lime wire site, it says they were shut down for piracy.
You will have you buy all the music through iTunes or you can download music to iTunes from a CD.
    I hope this help you.

my account has been disabled, i dont need a new password as i already did that, i just need my account to be enabled, do anybody know how to do this?

It was a genuine email from iTunes, not a phishing attempt trying to get your account and payment details ?
Viewing your account's purchase history : See your purchase history in the iTunes Store - Apple Support (on an iOS device you can view the last 90 days purchases via http://reportaproblem.apple.com)
Phishing and similar emails : Phishing & Other Suspicious Emails
Phishing emails : Identifying fraudulent "phishing" email - Apple Support
Genuine iTunes emails : Identifying legitimate emails from the iTunes Store - Apple Support
If it's a genuine email and it shows on your account's purchase history then contact iTunes Support : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page, then Purchases, Billing & Redemption . And change your account's password e.g. by logging into it via the Store > View Account menu on your computer's iTunes, or via http://appleid.apple.com
If it is a phishing email then forward it to Apple : [email protected] , and then delete it.

  • Apple:please update itunes with ability to disable music store permenanty

Although I believe you when you say you are not storing data on your users, I still would feel more comfortable not having the music store open unless I open it. I should not be connected to you everytime I open itunes , please include the option to disable this default. I should never be connected to the internet just because I want to listen to my own music.

My issue isn't so much with Apple seeing what songs I'm playing, and it's cool that you can just turn the feature off. After all, I'm a loyal Apple customer who regularly buys songs from iTMS and even computers and stuff from Apple Store (I own 3 Macs, 1 Airport Express, and 1 iPod).
My concern is this third-party involvement:
    http://since1968.com/article/155/omniture-itunes
I don't like Apple sending any info of mine to a 3rd party for some nefariously furtive reason, regardless of how well it's legally bulwarked in their EULA.

  • Updated, iTunes won't work. Already tried a bunch of methods.

I recently updated to the latest version of iTunes for windows, simply because it's probably my favorite media program. Unfortunately, it seems to have stopped working. I'm running Norton Anti-Virus with the latest updates, and have tried putting the various programs and extras into exclusion lists, to no avail. I've tried Lorraine's methods, again, to no avail, tried repairs, tried un-install and re-install. Nothing. I can't seem to find a method that works.
When I click the icon to open iTunes it brings up the window with the agreement forms. The buttons that say 'save', 'agree', 'decline'. I click agree and nothing happens. Not even if I wait for an hour or more. When I open the task manager (vai Ctrl-Alt-Dlt) And check the processes it says that iPodService.exe is running, iTunes.exe is running, and iTunesHelper.exe is running, with CPU = 00 and Mem Usage = 3416 and 31272 and 3732 respectively.
I'd really appreciate any help I can get.

I don't know, but it seems as though patience really is a virtue. iTunes started working but without any real explanation. I was getting ready to shut down again this morning iTunesless and the User Agreement window was open for some reason (I must've tried to open iTunes when I started up yesterday afternoon) I agreed, and a couple minutes later it opened. I closed it down, tried to open it again and it opened. Now my only problem is that I no longer have any music in my library. Which really probably isn't that big of a deal since I have it all. It's simply a matter of understanding how to fix my library. Thanks. Btw, I tried all methods suggested including the download and running of 'ewido_micro' which I would suggest getting anyway because it picked up a fairly large number of various spywares and things that weren't showing up on any of my other scanners.
    Thanks much,
    Derek

  • When trying to update iTunes I receive a "Object already exists"

I Have a gateway 6 gb ram 1 tb harddrive
    WWindows 7 64 bit

For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down the page in case one of them applies.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.

Mac OS 10.6 Snow Leopard came out in July of 2009 and became obsolete in July of 2011 when 10.7 Lion was introduced. Unlike earlier Operating Systems which were removed from the Apple Store when a new OS came out Apple kept Snow Leopard around for a year until 10.8 Mountain Lion came out. When Mountain Lion came out they removed Snow Leopard and Lion from the online store.
The Early 2006 model 1,1 Core Duo can only run a maximum of 10.6 Snow Leopard. The models Late 2006 Core 2 Duos 2,1 through Early 2008 4,1 can only run a maximum of 10.7 Lion. The Late 2008 model 5,1 Aluminum Unibody through the Mid 2010 White Unibody model 7,1 can run 10.8 Mountain Lion.
The Snow Leopard 10.6 DVD should still be available from Apple for $20. You will have to call Apple Customer Care 1-800-692-7753 or 1-800-676-2775 to purchase it. It may still be in the Legacy Products list.
If they no longer have any in stock you will have to buy it from eBay or Apple resellers that still have stock. But you will have to pay a premium since the DVDs are no longer being made. Snow Leopard DVDs are already up to $100 on Amazon.
