PocketMac SyncManager does not open on Macbook

I recently have been given a Blackberry Pearl. When turned on, it will not let me do anything on it due to this message on the screen: Uncaught exception: java.lung.NullPointerException. I have already researched and other people have had this problem, which can be easily solved with the Blackberry Desktop Manager. However, since there is no Desktop Manager for Macbooks yet, I have tried downloading repeatedly the PocketMac SyncManager. This is not open at all even after installing and uninstalling the program and restarting my computer several times.
What can I do? Your help will be much appreciated!

Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.
Make sure the title of the Console window is All Messages. If it isn't, select All Messages from the SYSTEM LOG QUERIES menu on the left. If you don't see that menu, select
View ▹ Show Log List
from the menu bar.
Click the Clear Display icon in the toolbar. Then try the action that you're having trouble with again. Select any messages that appear in the Console window. Copy them to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. Paste into a reply to this message (command-V).
When posting a log extract, be selective. In most cases, a few dozen lines are more than enough.
Please do not indiscriminately dump thousands of lines from the log into this discussion.

  • App store does not open on Macbook pro

For the last couple of months App Store has been inaccessible from my MacBook Pro. The App Intro Screen with the large A just sits there and does nothing. I still get notices of upgrades and am able to do these. But there is no access to the App Store from my own screen.
I have tried trashing the preferences apple appstore plist files but that made no difference.
What do I do to get the App Store app working again?

  • PocketMac SyncManager does not completely finish syncing.

hi. i have an unlocked blackberry storm 9530 i have a problem syncing it with my iMac (OS v10.5.7).
here's what ive already tried doing:
uninstalled and reinstalled PocketMac v4.1.25 and installed the driver update v3.1.3b
did the sync and after syncing the contacts and the iCal it doesnt stop syncing after 10minutes, even when the sync icon on the phone is gone already it is still stuck on Synchronizing DAta.
i checked my storm, contacts are intact and in sync with the iMac's address book, the calendar notes in my storm has also synced with iCal but there are no Calendar sync from the iCal on my phone. and even after 20mins of leaving the pocketMac syncing with my storm it still is not yet done. the status bar isnt running but the PocketMac's Cancel button is running around in circles.
    Can anyone help me please?

I am using a Blackberry Bold and I have exactly the same problem. Do you have already a solution?
    Thanks,

I got a new Macbook pro in March and transferred all of my old files into the new macbook from my old one. But ever since then, my iPhoto just does not open up. It says 'error' every time I try to open it, but I am still able to attach the iPhotos saved to emails. Help! How do I get my iPhoto back?

    Thanks, Sig.
The old computer is a 2.6 Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo
The new one is a 2.3 GHz intel core i7
In going over this, thanks to "tallking it out" with you, I did discover the Text Edit problem.  Because I've still been unable to get the new computer text size (fonts or whatever) to match the old computer, I did not notice that the curser is now different--the line midway down the curser has to be placed on the line I am working upon, otherwise the edits go elsewhere on the page.  Now, with a bit of difficulty, I am able to get Text Edit to work correctly.
If you have any ideas as to why my menu bar and Text Edit type are still so slow, I'd love to have them.
(I went through the process you suggested earlier, re my Trackpad preferences, and found no improvement.)

I have a MacBook 10.5.8 with Boot Camp. I can only operate the Windows side. When I move into MacOS it does not open.

Your phrasing is not clear. How do you reboot into Mac OS? /can you describe the process step by step?
Usually, you should do like this:
    - while in win, restart
    - immediately after chime, press option or alt key
    - wait for 2-3 seconds, you should see the boot options
    - select Mac OS partition
If you have performed all these steps, and, after choosing Mac OS partition, you cannot boot into Mac OS, then your system is corrupt and should be reinstalled.

Thank you Shootist007. I cannot do even Update now. I probably should have spent the same amount of money on a new IMac!
No not really. If this is a brand new Macbook Pro take it back for a refund. Apple has a 14 day No Questions Asked return policy for Full refund.
Take it back, get the Full Refund (DO NOT LET THEM TRY TO FIX IT. YOU BOUGHT A NEW COMPUTER NOT ONE THAT HAS BEEN WORKED ON OR NEEDS TO BE FIXED) and then decide whether to buy another Macbook Pro or the iMac. Or you could return it, get the Full refund and buy some other brand computer.

Thanks for your lengthy reminder dude, I have a similar Mac with yours. I suspect its a software fault because it happens after I upgraded to Lion, 10.7.2.

    Hi,
You have added every category there is to this Post.
I take it is actually about a web browser access to Facebook ?
OS X version can be useful to know.
The Browser would certainly be key information.
Any error messages you see would be useful.
I actually answer questions on Messages (The App for sending Messages to people).
As there is no actual question that relates to the Messages app I will be moving on  (not coming back to answer/reply in the future).

  • HT1338 Mail does not open after software update?

My MacBook just updated with OSX 10.6.8 buildK549.  Now my Mail does not open. I get a message that the mail version 4.5  1084/1065 is not compatible with the OSX.  There was a new mail icon in the apps file but it did not open. Any suggestions?
    How do I reinsatll Mail?
    Thanks

It's giving you that message because the update changed Mail from version 4.5 to 4.6 and it's seeing the 4.5. The part of the update that was meant for Mail failed because it couldn't find Mail where it was looking for it.

  • Double click does not open CR2 in Photoshop CS 6

I just moved Photoshop CS6, Bridge CS6, and Lightroom 4.1 to a new MacBook Pro Retna running Lion 10.7.4
    Camera Raw 7.1 is installed.
If I double-click a JPG image in Bridge or Mini-Bridge, it will open in Photoshop.
If I select a JPG image in Lightroom 4.1 and then select "Edit In" Photoshop CS6, I will get the normal dialog box that asks "What to Edit" with the three options. The image then appears in Photoshop.
If I double-click a CR2 (Canon 5D mk III) image in Bridge or Mini-Bridge nothing happens (the image does NOT open in Camera Raw).
If I select a CR2 (same camera) in Lightroom 4.1 Photoshop immediately opens (no "What to Edit" dialog), no image appears in Photoshop and Camera Raw is not launched.
If I select a CR2 (same camera) in the Mac Finder, Photoshop is launched with the image in Camera Raw.
How can I fix the behavior of Lightroom, Bridge, and Mini-bridge?

I also have Photoshop CS6 installed on a Windows 7 x64 laptop. In Windows double-clicking on a CR2 image in either Bridge or mini-Bridge loads the image into Camera Raw.
Edit in Photoshop CS6 from Lightroom 4.1 launches Photoshop without the dialog box, the same as on the Mac. The image is displayed directly in Photoshop and does not launch the Camera Raw window.
My guess is that there is an issue with Camera Raw 7.1 or Lightroom 4.1 that is causing this behavior.
