How about a temperature to frequency converter and use the Printerport or the stereo sound input to read two channels?

  • 4 wire RTD Agilent temperature measurement

    Hi,
I would like to measure the temperature with 4 wire RTDs with the Agilent 34970A. I configured the EZ Temperature VI with 4 Wire RTD and RTD Type 1 (91). The Problem is, the only data I get are temperatures of 9900000. There is no error message. When I did the set up with thermocouples it worked just fine. When I did the measurements with thermocouples on one card and the RTDs on the second card, the values for the RTDs were the same as for the thermocouples, even if the thermocouples were in a waterbath of 80 °C and the RTDs were outside the bath. I tried to increase the byte count in VISA read (it helped when I had a similar problem with the thermocouples) but it didn't change anything.
At first I would like to calibrate the RTDs alone (to prevent interference with the thermocouples) and afterwards I need to combine the measurements.
Is there anyone who also had this problem and found a solution? I would be very glad if somebody could help me

I found the mistake. It was inside the EZ Temperature VI. The interior setting was to read the RTDs with 100 Ohms resistance instead of the needed 1000 Ohms. I was not able to modify this, so I had to built my own VI out of the advanced scan and the configure temperature VI. Now it works

  • Temperature measurement on real time from NI 9217

    Hi,
I want to measure the temperature of a RTD, Pt100.
I am trying to plot temperature (axis Y) against real time (axis X). At the moment i have this "PT100_monitoring_test" attached but I would like to insert an external clock or something like that to measure the temperatura on real time.
    Is this possible?
    Thanks!

    Well,
using cDAQ you will not get more "real-time" than what you have.
You can increase the sampling rate, reduce the number of samples you acquire and optimize the postprocessing so that new samples appear on the screen faster, but at this moment you are already getting real-time data.
What do you want to achieve?

  • Temperature measurement using USB 6351

I am using a T thermocouple and I am using the DAQ, USB 6351.  What would be the most accurate LabVIEW program just to measure the air temperature?  When I use Acq Thermocouple Signal.vi it runs through many samples and does not seem even close to accurate (I am getting readings between 16 and 21 C and inside this building it is closer to the low to mid 20's).  Any suggestions?  And can the USB 6351 give me temperature readings that are +/- 3C accuracy?
    -ncm

    Hello ncm,
We'll need more information about your setup before offering specific advice (To start with- what measurements do you expect?), but in general you'll want to average multiple samples when acquiring from a thermocouple- they are generally quite noisy, particularly when used to measure air temperature.  Air currents are rarely as static as you think they are.
Some things to keep in mind:
-Cold junction compensation (manual vs. automatic)
    -Thermocouple accuracy
-DAQ Analog input range (smaller range will give you higher resolution, which is important when measuring small signals such as the uV differential coming from your thermocouple)
The X-series USB DAQ has a pretty wide range of capabilities and should be able to acquire high-accuracy signals from just about any basic sensor with proper conditioning and a suitable task configuration.  I would posit that your limiting factor is going to be the accuracy of the thermocouple itself. +/- 3 degrees C should absolutely be achievable.
Here are a few things I'd recommend reading through:

  • Temperature measurement with DS1722 using NI 8451

    Hi,
I am trying to read temperature from a MAXIM DS1722 temperature IC using the NI 8451 SPI device. I am having not luck at getting this to work.
My experimental VI (Labview 2009) is attached along with a schematic of how the DS1722 is wired (I can't change it, its built into a uut). I have also attached the datasheet for the DS1722.
Any suggestions on how I can get this to work will be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks

Ok, I'm not sure how that will affect the chip's operation.  Normally CE is set high just before communicating with it.  I'm not sure of the specifics of implementing the communication since I don't have the chip.
The command to send it is discussed on page 5-8 of the chip's pdf that you posted.   On page 8, figure 5 shows exactly how the SPI communication will happen physically.  You will write a configuration byte, and then the output will start.
To do the communication in LabVIEW, I would reccomend starting from the General SPI Read.vi example, which is found in the NI Example Finder (File » Find Examples) under "Hardware Input and Output » I2C and SPI » SPI Basic".
In the example, Chip Select won't affect your application since your not using them.  Make sure the clock rate is set slower than the chip can handle (p.12).  The first byte written to the SPI read/write VI will need to follow the format of the configuration byte in the chip documentation for your desired mode of operation.  The number of bytes read must be the same as the number of bytes written, which is why the example appends 0 bytes to the write when the SPI Read Write vi is called.
If you have any further questions about the LabVIEW example, please let me know.

  • Simultaneous temperature and voltage measurement

We have a NI-4351 to measure both the temperature and a voltage across a resistor. We have utilized two successive flat sequence structure frames, each containing an AI-Single Scan SubVI, to first scan the voltage off the thermocouple, and the second to scan the voltage off the resistor. Our voltage readings across the resistor are roughly 3V.
When we run our VI without scanning the resistor voltage, our temperature readings are correct. However, once we connect the voltage supply to a channel on the terminal board, we notice two things:
    1) A constant error of 2500
    2) The voltage readings across the thermocouples shoot up three magnitudes of error to approximately 0.08 volts
Would we need to separate the two scans into two separate buffers? If so, how would we do this?
    Much Appreciated!!

    Coolest,
At first glance, this particular issue may be related to the fact that the 4351 can only be configured for one gain setting across all of its channels. I recommend that you connect both signals and run a program which only performs one measurement at a time, reconfiguring the board between each measurement. If you still have the problem, disconnect both signals and then measure each one at a time. Make sure that you are configuring the channels to be ground referenced. If you've tried all of this and are still experiencing the same problem, there might be some cross-talk occurring between the channels -- potentially due to a grounding issue.
I hope that this is helpful to you.

  • 6008USB: simple measurement of two temperatures

I have to measure two temperatures:
    the first one outdoor,
    the second one indoor.
I was thinking to use two common
    sensors: AD590 for the outdoor
    and LM335 for the indoor.
    Temperatures must be displayed
in °C so I have to make
    a conversion via software.
I was thinking to do as follows:
    For the outdoor:
    Input0 (as RSE), a 10k resistor
between AI0 and GND (so to make
    conversion 10mV/°K)
    For the indoor:
    Input1 (as RSE), a 4~5k resistor
    between AI1 and +5V pin;
    LM335 between Input1 and GND
    What do you think about?
Is it ok or it's too minimal?
    Is there any alternatives do
    you suggest to adopt instead?
    Thanks in advance

  • Maximum underwater temperature?

I've googled it and looked it up in the manual, but i just can't find it. Does anybody know what the maximum temperature of the Smartband Talk is, when underwater? (That's a different temperature than the one that's about maximum and minimum air temperature, am I right?)
    Thanks in advance, Rik

It is not the same, think about it, if you have a pool with cold water lets say at 5C and its a cold day, if you are standing outside it might feel cold and you might be able to withstand it but if you jump in the pool you will get out soon after, why? (without taking into consideration a really humid environment)
In other words, don't use your phone underwater if the water its really hot, not a good idea.

  • RFC_FAILURE affects Connection Pool

    Using VB.NET (2003) with .Net Connector 2.0.
An intermittent problem causes a RFC Call to fail, and an exception is raised in the .NET code. The Exception message is:
See RFC trace file or SAP system log for more details
    The Trace file shows:

    T:2844 <* RfcCleanupContext [1] : returns
              18:RFC_INVALID_HANDLE</b>
This error adversely affects the Connection Pool – as calls to other RFCs are now prone to similar intermittent errors…
Is there any way to prevent the problem causing problems with Connection Pool ?
Is there any way of removing a “faulty” connection from the pool ? (NB Close and Dispose on the connection does not help)

The application is a Windows service - so I don't want to lose any connections. I assume that closing the connection (and not returning it) will affect the number of available connections in the pool(?).
I'm using async. RFC call, and the problem is detected in the callback function when the EndRFCCall is performed.
    Original code:
Public Sub Execute_RFC(ByVal parameters as string())
' Assign SAP Connection to RFC Proxy
    sapRFCProxy.Connection = SAPConnectionPool.GetConnectionFromPool(<i>ConnectString</i>)
Call the SAP RFC - Asynchronously
    arAsyncResult = m_sapRFCProxy.BeginRFCCall( params..., AddressOf RFC_CallBack, objAsyncState)
    End Sub
Private Sub RFC_CallBack(ByVal ar As IAsyncResult)
    Try
' Retrieve the SAP RFC Response...
        Call sapRFCProxy.EndRFCCall(ar, <i>param1, param2, etc...</i>)
    Catch ex As Exception
        ' Log the Error...
    End Try
    ' Return the Connection
    Call SAPConnections.ReturnConnection(sapRFCProxy.Connection)
    End Sub
I have changed the code as suggest so that the connection is closed, disposed but <u>not</u> returned. This cleared the RFC_INVALID_HANDLE errors, but the main problem of a corrupted connection persists.
Diagnostics produced by the amended code:

  • How can I correct for 2 different color temperatures in one image?

    Hi,
In indoor architectural photography one may encounter mixed color temperatures in one image. If one could use gels and lamps to replace incoming natural daylight and force a uniform color temperature (for instance tungsten) then the problem would go away. Yet, sometimes this is not possible or practical and I was exploring what could be accomplished within Photoshop. Here is my proposal ( or beginning of it):
    shoot RAW
generate 2 versions of the image, each corrected for one of the color temperatures present (say WB dropper in "should be neutral" area where daylight dominates and another WB dropper in "should be neutral" area where tungsten dominates)
open them in Photoshop and move one of them as a layer on top of the other version
Try to blend the two layers
in one example, I used Hue blending mode and the photo fixed itself!! However this is not generalizable to other images
I also tried BlendIf for harder images but with no success
I presume selection is then a must which brings up the question:HOW CAN I SELECT DEPENDING ON COLOR TEMPERATURE? I mean, the layer where WB = daylight looks orange-casted in the areas where the main light source is tungsten, while the layer where WB = tungsten looks blue-casted in the areas lit mainly by sunlight. I must believe there should exist a best approach to select say the blue-casted areas or the orange-casted areas, and that approach should be simple if it somehow takes into consideration the predominant cast. I have tried Select Color Range but not very successfully. I just feel there must be a simpler way, taking advantage of the present casts.
    Masks seem also useful
All feedback will be greatly appreciated!
    Thanks,
    Juan

If you want to use multiple keepalives for a service, you must use a script. The alternative would be to create 2 content rules, and 2 sets of services, one for port 80 (or whatever) and one for port 443 (or whatever), and use http for one and ssl for the other.

  • How to delete the row in table control with respect to one field in module pool programming?

    Hi,
Can I know the way to delete the row in table control with respect to one field in module pool programming
    Regards
    Darshan MS

    HI,
I want to delete the row after the display of table control. I have created push button as delete row. If I click on this push button, the selected row should get deleted.
    I have written this code,
    module USER_COMMAND_9000 input.
    DATA OK_CODE TYPE SY-UCOMM.
    OK_CODE = SY-UCOMM.
    CASE OK_CODE.
         WHEN 'DELETE'.
            LOOP AT lt_source INTO ls_source WHERE mark = 'X'.
                APPEND LS_SOURCE TO LT_RESTORE.
                DELETE TABLE LT_SOURCE FROM LS_SOURCE.
                SOURCE-LINES = SOURCE-LINES - 1.
            ENDLOOP.
But I'm unable to delete the selected rows, It is getting deleted the last rows eventhough I select the other row.
So I thought of doing with respect to the field.
