Poor Support for business....

When I switched from AT&T to Verizon I did so under the impression that for business the phone coverage would be better. Unfortunately I traded that perception of service out for a poor phone that I'm now stuck with (at least till my renewal comes around).  The Droid 2 Global is a buggy phone.
The resident client for corporate email is terrible causing calendar events to not sync reliably and  the need to delete the account and reinstall every few weeks. Ultimately on one call to support their only recommendation was to install a 3rd party app to use instead that now forces me to enter my company server password twice instead of once.
The bluetooth stops responding ever couple of days and forces me to reboot the phone or it won't turn off (or won't turn on).
When I call people, on occasion, they can't hear me and I have to reboot the phone.
The phone gets hot to the touch with any kind of web surfing.
The battery life is terrible.
Sometimes the screen doesn't blank out when you put a phone call to your ear (like it should) and I end up hanging up on the person.
Sometimes the screen icons and screens start to move back and forth by themselves and (you guessed it you have to reboot the phone).
And the list goes on.
I've been waiting for the software upgrade for a month now that is supposed to fix many of these issues.
It is posted on Verizon's site today along with PDF instructions (labeled Verizon wireless) on downloading OTA.  That did not work and I called in twice to technical support. In both cases the technicians knew nothing about the upgrade and insisted I had the latest software version on my phone. On the first case once they discovered there was an update they couldn't tell me when or if I woudl be able to download later. On the second call the technician continued to tell me I have the correct version for my phone regardless of what the verizon website said and that I would just have to wait and see.  Could be a week or two.
I'm done. I've never had anyone cut me off in conversation that much and be that rude.
I can honestly say when my phone is up for renewal I will be switching back to my old carrier.

+1 with the OP... I switched to a FOP account for a bigger discount from the State of AZ account. Nothing but issues and problems.  Technically my  account is in the FOP's name, but I am an authorized user. However everytime I call in I get some dope on the other line that tells me IM NOT AUTHORIZED and they refuse to basically speak to me, however my name is on the bill **bleep**?
I WOULD switch back to my personal account and loose a whole WHOPPING 2% but at least I will have FULL CONTROL and dont have to deal with the dopes when I call 611.  Only thing that is stopping me right now is I am waiting for a Supervisor's Supervison to get be back to a personal plan WITHOUT the new tierd data. I currenlty have unlimited, If I cant have unlimited cuz this whole 2GB for 30 bux is **bleep** and  I will go semwhere else.

Hi all members, I want to know, just like Sharepoint Portal which are other portals to connect with Business Objects. Which are other portals to be supported with Business Objects? Kindly any member guide here.
Any link having lists of portals supported for Business Objects is welcome.

    Izhar,
I would suggest going to the Business Objects Support site and doing a search on "portal integration kit" (and before clicking on search, choose your product via the "Products:" indicator, as well as choosing the Document Types of "Kbase Articles", "Product Documentation", and "Technical Papers").

  • Poor support for Sony lenses

Looking through the list of 'official' adobe lens profiles,  I see support for literally hundreds of lenses.   However there are only 4 supported Sony lenses - even Pentax has about 50 lenses listed.
So where do these profiles come from?  I read somewhere that sigma provided all the profiles for their lenses and looking at the long long Canon and Nikon lists, I can't imagine Adobe went and bought/rented a warehouse of premium lenses purely to profile them.  I imagine then that there is some kind of manufacturer input to the Official lens profiles.
But who drives this?  Does Adobe approach the manufacturer or is it the other way round?
I would love to see a more complete list of Sony lenses (in particular, the 16-50/2.8 and marvellous 35/1.8) and don't have the confidence/time to create profiles myself.
Is there a plan in Adobe to profile some more Sony lenses?  Is it based on market share/demand?
    Cheers

"I read somewhere that sigma provided all the profiles for their lenses and looking at the long long Canon and Nikon lists, I can't imagine Adobe went and bought/rented a warehouse of premium lenses purely to profile them."
True by all account! Canon and Nikon are not doing what is the best interest to their own customers (Ok, this is my own statement ). A number of other lens manufacturers have indeed followed SIGMA's example and provided Adobe with lens profiles. The list is growing. The user community has also help created close to 1000 lens profiles. Thank you all!

  • CD Got Stuck and Got Very Poor Support for this issue

I Have a mac mini Intel Duo core. This is the second time My cd is getting Stuck.
First Time It was my mac OSX Recovery Disk. I inserted My disk and restarted the system before i got the cd loaded. The Cd Got Stuck. None of the standerd recovery procedures worked. I called up support and took the system to apple care solution They took a day to take it out.
This Time I Inserted an audio cd during Screen saver mode (Forrest Screen Saver) and when resumed to work I found out the CD was not recognised. I have Installed the eject shortcut on the top right menu bar. When i clicked eject after a long wait Nothing happend. The Drive was listed in Utilities> Disk Utility But I was not able to Eject. When I restarted by clicking the mouse button also nothing worked. Once I have restarted I have No drives Listed.
By Callon Customer Support I tried all trouble shooting steps again. Now I will Have to take my mac mini back to service it mak take a day to fix it.
I think cd gets stuck then we insert the cd in screen saver mode or insert it and restart before cd is recognised. Can Some one try out these scenaios and tell me whether my diag is right?
reg Apple support It is very poor (Compared to this dell has very good support. The are having their tech ppl coming home with all possible replasement components that might have gorn wrong trouble shoot fix the issue do replacements and leave the place compared to this apple care is just very poor ). One has to carry his mini to authorised service every time this occurs and wait untill the support ppl ejects it for me (This gives me no Option other than handing over my pc and wait without one for a day). The slot drive does not have a manual eject hole accessable to end user (Thats a cool design flaw).
In short Apple Service is very poor all arround the world
Mac Mini (Intel)   Mac OS X (10.4.6)

    Siva,
    Welcome to Apple Discussions!
You just happened to have gotten some bad support by fluke. On the whole Apple's support is rated better than Dell worldwide:
    http://forums.maccentral.com/wwwthreads/showflat.php?Cat=&Board=general&Number=6 18987
There are a couple articles which I recommend reading:
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=106752
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=58641
The latter article may not explain directly why your last couple of disks failed to eject, but if you used a non-standard disk, or one that had an adhesive label on it which suddenly got into the drive, it might have affected the ability of the drive to eject properly.
Yes occasionally you do get bad support, and occasionally a repair is flawed, but that's why when you call AppleCare and you have a problem with a repair, I recommend you speak to customer relations. They'll set you right.

  • Support for Business One in a Virtual (VM) environment.

First post - if I have the wrong location let me know.
Given note 14920000 can anyone explain the statement below that I got from my reseller after contact with SAP Support?  I am told this was the statement from SAP Support.
unfortunately SAP Business One will no longer provide any support statements on virtualization software as we consider it the virtualization vendor#s responsibility to
ensure operating system compatibility. SAP Business One is running on virtualization software just as it is running on non-virtualized operating system platforms.
    Thanks,
    Scott McClure
    Omega Morgan

    Hi Omega,
The message is clear: SAP will only treat the OS on the VM as the same as the original. Whatever related to VM issue, that is not SAP's business.

  • Poor Support for Recovery Media Error.

T'm trying to recovery a Sattelite laptop L675D (part no. PSK3JU-03L02D) for a friend. There was no recovery partion on the machine and it was out of warrenty, so I purchased the recovery media ($29.95). I started the process and it read the 3 CDs and then started the process of creating the partitions, but 45% into the "creating CRC files" it failed with error code  10-FA12-045D.
A call to Toshiba support told me to remove battery and AC for 15 minutes and try again.  Same result so another call to support.  They did not tell me what the code indicated, but checked that I could enter the recovery process via the hard drive without the CDs. They said they could get the machine running without sending new disks.  They charged $49,95 since the machine was out of warranty.  I asked that if they were unsuccessful at resolving the issue, would the charge be refunded and the support person said "yes".  We then attempted the recovery from the hard drive. (I thought this was useless since the media created the recovery partition and I would probably get the same error, but I went along...)
After 30 minutes, I got the exact same error (10-FA12-045D) that I had got on previous recovery attempts at the same point in the process.  The new support person said that the message indicated missing drivers and they would need to send new media.  He checked with his supervisor and said the $49,95 was non-refundable.  NOT A VERY SATISFACTORY EXPERIENCE.
I am now waiting for the next recovery media to arive.

    Hi
If possible, turn on power, press F10 to enter BIOS mode, and run Memory Test and Hard Drive Test if any test fails you need to replace the part. Please note you need to be sure which part has failed and replace that part only then the unit will work fine. As per my understanding error code 303 is Hard drive failure.
Let us know how it goes!

  • Why such poor support for iCal?

On the first two pages of this forum, only TWO questions are marked as answered (My own question has been viewed 36 times - no responses at all). Many of the questions refer to fairly serious 'buggy' behaviour by the iCal application. By doing a little Googling, I have found many similar complaints elsewhere, going back several years.
It seems that Apple has a rather unsatisfactory application here. Why is this not being fixed? Does anybody know of any impending major updates that will produce a calendar app without the kind of problems encountered on this forum?

These forums are user-to-user. Apples involvement is limited to providing the platform and monitoring for adherence to terms of use (which your post probably violates!).
Marking of questions as answered is something that has to be done by the question poster. One of the great frustrations of answering questions here is that original posters frequently fail to give any feedback at all on answers, so other visitors don't know if the answer could help them, and the helper doesn't learn how to give better help.
As for unanswered questions, you must remember that the answerers are just ordinary users. If I, for example, had seen your original question, I would probably have decided not to answer it (I have now answered it with a request for further info) as I don't use invitations myself and so have limited knowledge with which to help you. If someone answers a question, and is not able to help, there is a smaller chance that someone who might know the answer will look at the question.
As for bugs, two points. First, there are millions of users for whom iCal performs satisfactorily. Second, this is not a bug reporting site, so if you don't use the OS X Feedback site, or better the developer site, it doesn't register on the developer's radar.

  • Support for AVM ISDN PCMCIA Card in Solaris 10 ?

    Hi all,
I would like to install Solaris 10 on my Toshiba Tecra S1 notebook. Today I use an ISDN-Card (AVM FritzCard, PCMCIA) for dial-up connections under Windows XP. Are there any drivers for ISDN and/or PCMCIA-Cards in Solaris10? Does anyone have any experiences with this issue?
    Every hint would be appreciated.
    Thanks a lot.
    Kindly Regard,
    Holger

    Hello.
There only very poor support for ISDN cards in Solaris. As far as I know only the on-board ISDN card of one of the SparcStation computers is supported (this card is available as S-Bus card for other SparcStation computers).
I think there is no support for any ISDN card that can be attached to an x86 computer.
I wrote a driver for USB based ISDN modems that are based on the Winbond 6694 chip myself due to this lack of ISDN support. I tested it under Solaris 9/Sparc.

  • What is up with the Help and Support Section for Business Catalyst?

It has been very difficult for my customers and myself to access the help and support section of the site for Business Catalyst issues as we are constantly diverted to non-related Abode issues. The portal for support on Business Catalyst issue needs to be ISOLATED from ADOBE's main support section. It is bad enough that there are so many issues to deal with, but to add all the issues for all the applications is simply impossible to decipher and discover a solution.
Before the Adobe integration on the Cloud services it was much more simpler, wiith a much more efficient and cleaner layout, now every page looks like its generated by a bot that doesn't understand what I am looking for. Even the actual URL of the page is hidden so I can't even book mark it without opening the frame in a new window. My clients will not know how to do that.
    Simplify plesase!

    Teejay,
Yes we are looking into this very thing and hope to improve this very soon.  Not only making things a bit clearer but also a central location for all your BC support needs.
    Kind regards,

  • Onedrive for business this library is not supported because it requires checkout

So installed a fresh install of Office 2013 from click to run on O365 this morning. Windows 7 Machine.
Tried to sync a library from SharePoint online using Onedrive for Business and got this error.
"this library is not supported because it requires checkout"
A number of users are already syncing this library with Office 2013 Onedrive for Business with out issue.
    Any ideas anybody?

    Having the exact same issue.
All of my clients are using OneDrive for business (desktop App on Windows 8.1) to sync site document stores. This has been working fine for a month (new system) without issue, until...
Thanks to some licencing fun, I've ended up uninstalling a few of my clients Office products, and re-installing them with a different Office 2013 package. As part of this process I had to use the following guide to install OneDrive manually, as the
Office Pro 2013 installer included the older SkyDrive.
     https://support.microsoft.com/kb/2903984?wa=wsignin1.0
All of the users I have had to perform this "downgrade" on can no longer sync a document store with a check out requirement set. As soon as I disable the requirement on the site's document store, the user can sync the document store without
issue. I can straight away re-enable the check out requirement, and the user will continue to receive changes, and sync changes they make (going through the Office check out/check in process)
All of the users still on the original office package installation have no problems if the requirement is set or not.
I have noticed a versioning difference between the two installations...
One of my original installations with OneDrive working 100%, sits at version "17.0.4023.1211"
The new installations using the guide above, install OneDrive straight to version "17.3.1171.0714"
Is this a Microsoft "Feature upgrade" to wave off some sync issues (I never had any)???

  • Future support for using PL/SQL core business logic with ADF BC

We want to migrate our large Forms client/server (6i) application to ADF, possibly using a migration tool like Ciphersoft Exodus.
One scenario could be to use ADF BC and ADF-Faces or a different JSF-Implementation for presentation and business layer but keep our heavy PL/SQL-businesslogic inside the Oracle database in packages, triggers, functions and procedures.
This scenario could be chosen due to the huge amount of interconnected logic inside the database (10 years of development; no technical components; any package may access any table and more of this kind of dependencies). The business logic nowadays held in Forms client will be moved mainly into the database as a prerequisite to this scenario.
Choosing this "keep-logic-in-DB"-scenario we need a good support by ADF BC to do so. We know and prototyped that it is possible to call some PL/SQL via JDBC from ADF BC and it is possible to use stored procedure calls for standard business entity data access (ins, del, upd, ..). But this does not solve our problems. We want to reuse core business logic coded in PL/SQL. This is much more than change the ADF standard behavior for an update with an own PL/SQL-call.
    Now my question:
Will there be a kind of sophisticated support to use ADF BC in combination with database-kept logic?
If so, when will this happen and how will the common problems of transactional state inside the database and inside the ADF BC be solved? Any plans or ideas yet?
Many other clients do have similar applications built in Forms and PL/SQL and would be glad to hear about a path of direction.
I've read the technical article 'understanding the ADF BC state management feature' which you have contributed to. One current limitation is pointed out there: Using PL/SQL with ADF BC limits ADF AM pooling to 'restricted level' which reduces scalability.
Are you aware of additional main problems/tasks to solve when using PL/SQL heavily with ADF BC, which we have to think about?
    Thank you for any response.
    Ingmar

My main problem is two 'concurrent' areas holding state in an application system based on DB-stored PL/SQL-logic in combination with ADF BC.
For a new System everything can be made ok:
Sure, it is possible to build a new system with the business logic included in ADF BC only. All long-living state will be handled in the BC layer ( including support for UnitsOfWork longer than the webside short HTTP-requests and HTTP-sessions and longer than the database transactions.
For an old system these problems arise:
    1. DB data changes not reflected in BC layer:
Our PL/SQL-logic changes data in tables without notifying the ADF BC layer (and its cache). To keep the data in ADF BC entity objects identical to the changed database content a synchronization is needed. BC does not know which part of the application data has been changed because it has not initiated the changes through its entity objects. Therefore a full refresh is needed. In a Forms4GL environment the behavior is similar: We do frequently requeries of all relevant (base)tables after calling database stored logic to be sure to get the changed data to display and to operate on it.
-> Reengineering of the PL/SQL-logic to make the ADF BC layer aware of the changes is a big effort (notifying BC about any change)
    2. longer living database transactions
Our PL/SQL-logic in some areas makes use of lengthy database transactions. The technical DB-transaction is similar to the UnitOfWork. If we call this existing logic from ADF BC, database state is produced which will not be DB-committed in the same cycle.
This reduces scalability of ADF BC AM pooling.
    Example:
    a) Call a DB-stored logic to check if some business data is consistent and prepare some data for versioning. This starts a DB-transaction but does not commit it.
    b) Control is handed back to the user interface. Successful result of step a) is displayed
    c) User now executes the versioning operation
    d) Call another DB-stored logic to execute the versioning. DB-transaction is still open
    e) Business layer commits the transaction automatically after successful finishing step d). Otherwise everything from a) to e) is rolled back.
-> redesign of this behavior (= cutting the 1to1 relation between LogicalUnitOfWork and the technicalDatabaseTransaction is a big effort due to the big amount of code.

Is there a good apple based alternative to the persona finance software program "quicken for mac"?  It is a poorly supported program.

I switched from Quicken on a Windows computer to iBank on a Mac. It is a very good program, has very good free download connections to financial institutions (optional), and very good reports. The only negative is that it is just different enough from Quicken that there is a learning curve and the first month or two were frustrating -- but that is likely true of anything that you might change to. http://www.iggsoftware.com/ibank/

  • Skype for Business: Admin would prefer you to use Lync or it's the only version server supports.

We're running Lync Server 2013, in house, and some of our more fearless users decided it would be a good idea to install the newly released Skype for Business client.
    These users were greeted with the following prompt;
You have the newer version of Lync called Skype for Business. However, your admin would like you to use Lync or it's the only version your server supports. Please restart now to use Lync.
I suspect, that our server is causing this. Can anyone point me in the direction of server prerequisites/patches/updates/KBs that might help eradicate this message?
    Many thanks in advance,
    James Vincent

    Hi,
It is controlled by the server (Client policy), when having Feb-2015 Lync CU installed on your Lync frontends, you can control the UI of the client by using Client Policy on the Lync side "Set-csClientPolicy -EnableSkypeUI $False or $True"
nevertheless you need to know that if you block the Skype UI users will get the mentioned Warning Message and the client will reboot into the old Lync UI but still they will have some confusion with some points (refer to this article for more details
    http://masteringlync.com/2015/04/04/change-is-coming-what-enableskypeui-doesnt-do/ )
If you want to block the whole update, you can do that by blocking the new updates and patches released two days ago using "SCCM or WSUS" although I think if you haven't done that already it is little late for that.
