Pop-up menu behind flash piece

Hello,
I first had a problem with the pop-up menu showing up behind
my flash piece, I found other posts that have helped me solve this
problem, but now my problem is in IE the flash piece has a light
gray border around it when you rollover and a tool tip shows up
that says click to activate and use this control. If a user were to
click on the flash piece to navigate they need to click twice once
to activate and then second to go where they selected, this double
click happens with the expanded menu as well. Is there anything
that can be done to eliminate having to click on the flash piece to
activate (though I don't understand what there is to activate
because the flash piece works before clicking on it).
Thanks,
KG

That's unfortunate.
You're in trouble in lots of ways. Please read this by the

  • Fireworks pop up menu and flash

    hi,
I want to have a page layout like adobe.com. Fireworks Pop up
menu on top and flash swf file beneth it, but my Fireworks css pop
up menu is hidden by flash swf file embeded when I bring it all
    together in Dreamweaver.
I guess this is because embeded files superceed the css
z-indexing but how do I overcome this isue. As I can see it can be
    done at adobe.com.

All Active content on a page will always rise to the top, so
    to speak,
including Flash, certain form elements, Java applets, and
    Active X controls.
This means that each of these will poke through layers. There
    is not a good
cross-browser/platform reliable way to solve this issue, but
    if you can be
confident in your visitors using IE 5+ or NN6+, then you can
    use the Flash
    wmode parameter.

  • Pop-up menus and Flash image

My development page has two things on it that are conflicting
with one another. I have a flash movie, and a pop-up menu. I would
like the menu to pop over top of the flash object, but quickly
learned that certain objects naturally float up to the top -
    Thread
    - But, the fix on this thread won't work for what I'm trying to do.
Is there any other way to get my menu pop over the movie? I
noticed the adobe main page has its menus overtop the flash movie,
so it must be possible, somehow. . . right?
    Here's my
    Test Page if it
helps to see what's going on. The pop-up in question is located at
    "What We Do" -> "Programs"

The key is a special Flash parameter called WMODE, short for
    Window Mode.
You'll need to add this parameter to your movie, set to
    transparent. The
fastest way in Dreamweaver is to select your Flash movie and,
    from the
Property inspector choose Parameters. In the dialog box that
    opens, add
wmode in the Parameter column and transparent under Value.
    That should do
    the trick!

  • Can I change the fill color of an entire row based on what's selected in a pop-up menu in the first cell?

I have a pop-up menu in the first cell of every row with three choices (and I may add more at a later date).  I want the fill color of the row to change depending on which thing is selected.  Is this hard to do?

    Hi,
In essence the same as Wayne's answer, but with a slight modification to fit  to duplicate your 'color the whole row' specification. The final result, with Table 2 slid behind Table 1, is shown.
Table 2 is a single column table with the same number of rows as Table 1. The table is resized to match the full width of Table 1.
In A2, use the formula =Table 1::A2 to copy the value from that cell in Table 2. Fill the formula down through the rest of the column.
Select all the cells in Table 2 (except the header row), and apply conditional formatting rules such as those below.
Note that the Conditional Format rules are set to apply the same colour to text and fill in the cell, so that the text disappears.
When Table 2 is ready, select it, then go Arrange > Send to Back.
Before sliding Table 2 behind Table 1, Select Table 1 and use the Table Inspector to set the Cell Background to None (see red arrow in illustration). If This table has a Header column, you need to select the header cells independently and again set the Cell Background to None.
Now select Table 2 and drag it to a position partially under Table 1. When you see the blue alignment guides on both sides, or at the top and bottom, of Table 1, release the mouse button and use the arrow keys to nudge Table 2 into its final position.

  • Pop-up menu to list multiple time values (8:00 AM etc.) ?

I was looking at the option of using a pop-up menu to select times (8:00 AM etc.) from to keep from having to enter all the times in my spreadsheet manually. Has anyone done this before and is there a download or widget for this? Unfortunately for me, I would need it to be in increments of 5 minutes starting from 7AM to 7PM or so, which would be a tremendous amount of parameters added to a traditional pop-up menu.
    Thanks for any input.

Thanks for the insight, it seems to make good sense to me with your process to create multiple pop-ups and/or sliders. Since I'm still new to iWork Numbers though, are the tables you illustrated in your reply saved in a separate spreadsheet to use as a reference for the pop-up in other, separate spreadsheets? Is that what LOOKUP is used for (to reference another sheet)?
My invoice has a single cell for an "IN" time and another for an "OUT" time; all incorporated to a fairly "busy" invoice that can't accommodate any additional cells in those areas.
Both tables are on the same sheet, but I placed them on separate tables on that sheet.
They don't have to be on separate tables, and they don't have to be on the same sheet, but they do have to be in the same document, as Numbers does not provide for linking to separate documents/files.
With the busy invoice in your case, you could place the popup and slider cells (two of each) on a separate table, and only the result cells on the same table as your invoice. The popups and sliders could go on the same table as the lookup array, but that table would then have to be both visible and unlocked.
Placing the Lookup array on a separate table allows you to lock that table to prevent accidental changes to it. You can also easily hide the Lookup table by placing it behind the main table (your invoice), or on a second sheet in your document.
Placed on the same table as the rest of the invoice, you can still hide it simply by hiding the two columns containing the lookup information.
An alternate method, requiring no extra cells or tables would be to Use Insert Date and Time (in the Insert menu, or from the keyboard with shift-option-command-D ) to insert the date and time directly.
There are some complications with this which might make it unusable, depending on how many people need to be trained and how well they take to training. Insert Date and Time starts with the assumption that what you really want to do is insert the date. Changing its mind takes a couple of extra steps that must be done immediately, and each time.
    1. Click on the cell to select it.
    2. Go Insert > Date and Time (or press shift-option-command-D )
    3. Before taking any other action, double click the cell (which will now be displaying the current date) to open a small dialogue.
    4. In the dialogue, use the popup menu to choose one of the Time only formats.
    5. Click outside the dialogue to dismiss it.
The cell will now contain the current Date and Time value, and will display the current time.
Note that the Time, when inserted this way, will be the time that the insertion was done, and won't be rounded to the nearer five minutes.
You'll find a discussion of LOOKUP (and the two related functions, VLOOKUP and HLOOKUP in the iWork Formulas and Functions User Guide, and an excellent overview of Numbers (including explanation of the terms I've used above) in the Numbers '09 User Guide. Both can be downloaded using the menu items in the Help menu in Numbers. Both are recommended reading for new and old users of Numbers alike.

  • "Show" Pop up menu at bottom of page

    A modest request...
right now I have the little pop-up menu at the bottom of my Illustrator window set to show me the phase of the moon, which is right now the most useful of the options for my workflow.
But, what I'd really like it to show is the name of the file I'm working on.
I like to maximize my image real-estate ('f' key x3) but one of the things that gets lost is the title bar of the file. I'm often working with a bunch of very similar files, six or seven instances based on the same template, and I want to be able to see exactly which file I'm working on at a glance, without having to go to a menu, or hit 'save as' then cancel, just to know which file I'm working on.
Believe me, for what I am doing, this would save me some time.

    >I'd like:
    File Size
    Document Color Mode (not profile)
    Total anchor points
    Number of objects
    selected objects color value
File Size: I hardly find that relevant. Large image increase file size, until the size causes a save delay, then I turn off PDF compatibility. Size of file is about the least signifact piece of information for me.
Document Color Mode: That rarely changes for me. I'll start a file in the appropriate mode and leave it there. As I'm familiar with the job, I don't need to check that.
Total anchore points: In selection, useful. In file, pointless.
Selected object's color value: Good idea. There are only five places to look that up now (but only one that can potentially show the full breakdown).
I agree with Beau that Filename would be a useful addition. Probably be easy to add. So, I give it a 1% chance of appearing in 14 or 15.
Which is not to say that other pieces of information are not worthy, just that they aren't to me.

  • Does the Pop-Up Menu causes the Video a small jump to the closest Pop-Up chapter?

I have setted five Pop-up Chapter Menu for my project but after burning the blu ray, I have notice the vidoe coming close to one of the Pop-up Chapter will a small jump to the pop-up point. It happens to all of the Pop-Up chapter. Is there a way to make the movie smooth without the slight jump when approaching the Pop-up point. Also is there a away to view the pop-up menu when I build the project to ensure it is working? I cannot find on the Encore help menu, thanks for reading.

Bummer. Could be a problem with the MBP drive. Are you using Re-writable discs maybe?
Check the discs work in your HP machine. They may have burnt but not successfully. Your HP machine may not be able to open them either.
Have you considered using a USB flash device to transfer the photos, or just copy them over your home network? CD is a slow an cumbersome method.

  • Unable to create image-based pop-up menu

Working in FW MX (yes, I know I'm behind the times!).
Created a pop-up menu; want to experiment with image-based
options, rather than html. When I choose IMAGE on the Appearance
tab of the pop-up editor, no styles are available in the style
choosers for up/over states. (And there ARE styles in the
assets--including some that I've just created.) Furthermore, when I
click through the NEXT buttons to DONE, then return to edit this
pop-up menu, it's defaulted back to html. Image just won't stick.
The documentation says this should be simple and
straightforward, but it ain't. I've spent several hours struggling
    with this.

Okay, on the suggestion of one tech support person, I logged
in as a different Windows user. Whaddaya know, the style options
were there! However, when the file is exported, all I get is the
html version, no image/style-based popup. Same when I preview it in
browser (IE7, FireFox). But the preview in the pop-up editor does
show the styles applied--they just don't make it to publication for
    some reason.

  • Background and pop up menu in ENCORE CS5

    Hi everybody,
    I have a problem.
I try to create a pop up BD menu from a preset found in Encore (cloud pop up menu)
If I change writtings on buttons, some red collision square appears.
Then, using photoshop I take all the backgrounds of all buttons to make an unique background image.
Now if i use this image as an object it disappears.
    like this
If I use it as a button the red squares appear.
    like this
    The question is this.
How can I use a background for pop up menus?
    thanks
    I apologize for my english

The red squares are showing you that there are buttons that are overlapping. With the Marquee Tool (m) on Photoshop just select the part you want for the button from your background and then right click & select Layer via Cut and then put the new layer you made into the folder that belongs to that button. You can put a background on any pop-up menu but you have to cut it into pieces and put them in the folders of the buttons, and also make sure that they are not overlapping.
Here are some pictures I did for my pop-up menu (it has 8 pages with around 9 buttons each page & with each button with a background):
Also here is a link of a blu-ray I did with this pop-up menu: http://youtu.be/pEjKmIYM_8I

  • Pop-up Menu Transparency

I've just made a Blu-ray pop-up menu with a black background and white text. The highlight is a white underscore that appears in front of the selected piece of text. My problem is that all of the underscores appear transparent even when not selected.
It looks fine in the preview window however.
Any ideas what this could be?

I'm not sure I understand your question.
Highlight layers should remain transparent in the Menu editor unless you manually switch them on (there's a button at the bottom of the frame labeled "Show Button Highlights", or something like that...don't have Encore open in front of me).
Of course, button highlights should appear when you enter Preview mode and select a button, or if your burn a BD and test it in a player - but not appear when buttons are unselected.
