Populating a select-options table on INTIALIZATION

Hello,
I need to have a report where all of the parameters are already entered.  The parameters (select-options) are shipping points (likp-vstel).  I have a list of 7 shipping points.  How do I go about adding them to the table so_vstel?

    Here is the answer if I understand well of your question.
    Data: begin of gt_mon OCCURS 0,
                  mon(2)             TYPE n,
             end of gt_mon.
    Data: begin of gt_year OCCURS 0,
                  year(4)             TYPE n,
             end of gt_year.
    Select-options: s_period       FOR ptdw_pws_db-kmonth NO-EXTENSION
                                                                                    DEFAULT sy-datum(6)
                                                                                    TO sy-datum(6).
    For example according to above statement period is 201110 is 201201.
    Period field does n't exists in SAP for selection. If your selection is on date based on period which is given on the selection-screen then you need to convert the period to date by concatenating ( or using FM to convert )01 at the end of each period . You need to declare one range table for date to select the data from table.
    loop at s_period.
    gr_date-sign   = s_period-sign.
    gr_date-option = s_period-option.
    COncatenate s_period-low
                          '01'
    into gr_date-high.
    COncatenate s_period-high                   
                           '01'
    into gr_date-low
    append gr_date.                      
    ENDloop.

    I think there is no specific structure/ table available for this, we have to use replicate the standard format with custom one.
    TYPES: BEGIN OF linetype,
             sign   TYPE c LENGTH 1,
             option TYPE c LENGTH 2,
             low    {TYPE type}|{LIKE dobj},
             high   {TYPE type}|{LIKE dobj},
           END OF linetype.

  • Filtering internal table using select-option values

    Hi,
    I got an internal table with select-option values. for eg.  it_perno with the values  I  BT    000160    000170.
    Now i got another second internal table which is have the person number. Now i need to filter this second internal table based on the values from the select option table. my question is
    i can collect all the values from 160 to 170 in a separate table by looping over the select option table. and then based on the values filter the second internal table person number.
    But what would be the case if the select option contains both intervals and multiple options. For eg.
    I BT 000160      000170.
    I EQ 000185.
    So can you suggest any good solution, that based on this select option table i need to filter the second internal table Person number.

    Can you not use the select-options in the Select query while populating the internal table.
    SELECT pernr FROM pa0000 INTO it_tab WHERE pernr IN s_pernr.
    If you cannot do this and you do not want to delete the unwanted entries, then you can use the WHERE clause in the LOOP statement to process the specific entries required:
    LOOP AT it_tab INTO wa_tab WHERE pernr IN s_pernr.

    I know how to populate select-options but i want to know how to set up the selection variable in table TVARVC for using it in populating a select-option in a report variant. we populate these selection variables using the transaction STVARV where we specify a value against a particular variable. How can this variable multiple values (for example a range) so that a select-option can be populated dynamically through this?

    Select option is table <Structure> with fields, low, high, sign & option
    you need to append the value into the select option, with appropriate value in low or
    example:
    S_HKONT-low  = <value>
    S_HKONT-SIGN = 'I'
    S_hkont-OPTION = 'EQ'
    append s_hkont.
    Default value for select-option also can be added directly in select-option statement.

  • Checking against Select-Options with "CP" using "IF value IN select_option"

    Dear experts,
    first of all: I'm sorry, if this question already should have been asked and answered!
    I tried quite a lot of search terms but didn't find anything helpful.
    We are using a statement like "IF value IN select_option" to perform comparisons after the Select-Options have been used in a SELECT statement. This logical expression fails (compared to the results of the DB-SELECT) whenever a select-option line contains the option CP (Contains Pattern). To be more specific: The case sensitivity of the LOW value doesn't seem to play a role any more. A variable with the value 'ABCD' would be positively checked against a select-option with OPTION 'CP' and LOW 'abc*', whereas this value wouldn't have been selected if the select-option had been used in a DB-SELECT.
    Does anybody know a workaround?

    Dear Keshav,
    it's an own field in an own table, defined as CHAR of length 140 (lowercase allowed), reflecting to a line of remittance info of an account statement. A regular Select-Option for this field is provided in a report which works perfectly fine regarding the case sensitivity. For reasons I don't want to point out in detail we need to check a value in this field against the select-option without selecting it from the db again.
    Let's assume that a field remittance_info contains the value 'ABCD'.
    A line of the select-option table looks like this:
    select_option_table-SIGN = 'I'
    select_option_table-OPTION = 'CP'
    select_option_table-LOW = 'abc*'.
    Then an ABAP statement such as
    IF remittance_info IN select_option_table.
    * would be true !!!
    ENDIF.
    but wouldn't deliver a result in a SELECT such as
    SELECT * FROM my_table INTO TABLE my_internal_table WHERE remittance_info IN select_option_table.
    because of the differences in lower/upper case.

    Hi all,
    I appended a standard search help of a standard report with a search help of my own. Now I am trying to retrieve the values the user has entered into the selection screen of the report using the FM DYNP_VALUES_READ in my search help exit FM. It works fine for single values defined by PARAMETERS and for low and high values of SELECT-OPTIONS (so_example-LOW and so_example-HIGH), but I need the entire SELECT-OPTIONS table. I cannot make any changes in the report, so do you have any solutions I could implement in my search help exit FM?

    I found several questions on this topic but they either just different enough not to be applicable in my case or the formatting has made the replies useless.

    Most of the time we just copy the standard FM F4IF_SHLP_EXIT_EXAMPLE to a new one and give our own name.
    You can see that on the 12th line there is the following code
    * EXIT immediately, if you do not want to handle this step
      IF CALLCONTROL-STEP &lt;&gt; 'SELONE' AND
         CALLCONTROL-STEP &lt;&gt; 'SELECT' AND
         " AND SO ON
         CALLCONTROL-STEP &lt;&gt; 'DISP'.
         EXIT.
      ENDIF.
    you should comment those line in order for the control to reach the PRESEL step (which is already defined in the SH Exit FM) which is on line 44.
    Most of the time, when someone says they don't hit PRESEL, this is the problem.

  • How to build my own SELECT-OPTIONS?

    Hi experts,
    I hv 4 values like for a field, (say VBAK-BNAME),
    NAME_A
    NAME_D
    NAME_M
    NAME_Z
    My selection- screen is like,
    SELECT-OPTIONS: MANAGER FOR VBAK-BNAME.
    So,
    1) How to build the SELECT-OPTIONS table in my ABAP code?
    I mean, if the user enters the NAME_A TO NAME_Z in select-options, the system shuld take in-between NAMEs also!
    (Actually, I thiught that, the SAP will take care of building the select-options table based on Alphabetical Order, but, When I observed in debug mode, its not like that!)
    2) And Where I hv to write the code for building select-options? I mean, Is it DATA DECLARATION part, AT SELECTION SCREEN or AT SELECTION SCREEN OUTPUT or START OF SELECTION?

    Well, if you don't want to use RANGE then you can do it at SELECT statement.
    SELECT BNAME
    INTO TABLE ITAB
    FROM VBAK
    WHERE BNAME IN ( NAME_A, NAME_D, NAME_M, NAME_Z )
    OR
    SELECT BNAME
    INTO TABLE ITAB
    FROM VBAK
    WHERE BNAME BETWEEN 'NAME_A' AND 'NAME_Z'.
    2) under which event i hv to write it?
    If you are using in SELECT statement, then you use at START-OF-SELECTION.
    If you are buiding RANGE, then you can use at any events such as INITIALIZATION, AT SELECTION-SCREEN OUTPUT, START-OF-SELECTION, etc.

    Here is example code for the on value request:
    data: gd_name like USR02-BNAME.
    select-options so_fpath for rlgrap-filename.
    *at selection-screen
    AT selection-screen on value-request for so_fpath-low.
    then within here call the function module or execute
    the code you want to happen when the user press f4.
    i.e. call FM F4_user which provides a search help for
         SAP users:
    CALL FUNCTION 'F4_USER'
    EXPORTING
       OBJECT        = '*'
    IMPORTING
       RESULT        = gd_name.
    But personnelly if the other way works fine by referencing the correct field i would go down that route.

  • Select-options on selection-screen type char100 problem

    Hi friends! I created on selection-screen a select-options:
    SELECT-OPTIONS: zzcduc     FOR      equi-ZZCDUC.
    The field  equi-ZZCDUC is a CHAR100 field. The problem is when I run program, in this field user can't input more of 46 characters. This is a serial number with 100 characters, why I can input 100 characters?

    The LOW and HIGH fields of a selection option are displayed in a length up to 18 bytes long (scrollable up to 45 bytes). If you define a length longer than 45, fields are truncated on the selection screen after the 45th character. This affects the first line of the SELECT-OPTIONS table. You can, however, use SUBMIT to pass longer selection options to a report if they are specified with the addition NO-DISPLAY and thus do not appear on the selection screen. Without NO-DISPLAY, the fields are then truncated whenever the selection screen is processed in the background ( SUBMIT without VIA SELECTION-SCREEN).

    and pass the select option table from the program to the
    smartform.
    to build select option table in smartform you can built
    type in global definition tab types.
    Then, use it in form interface.

    I have a screen added on the standard transaction IW21 (with selection screen definition and called like subscreen). On this screen I have some SELECT-OPTIONS and when I press the button of selecting multiple values, I get the following message: "Requested function & is not available here" (V0 104), where & is long number starting with %..No matter the error message, the values are transferred correctly from the multiple selection screen to my screen. I have added entries to the tables T185F and T185 with the transaction VFBS, but I dont know how to assign the Function codes to SELECT-OPTIONS..
