Port 3306 | 7869...why so difficult!

I develop locally and access my server remotely...
I have a WRT54G Wireless Router and am connected to the internet successfully.
However, I cannot get to my MySQL server remotely when going through the wireless router. The server runs on port 3306 of the mysql server.
In addition I debug locally with port 7869, which cannot be accessed as well now.
Can anyone provide any guidance...tried to understand the port triggering and forwarding, but completely got lost.
Why is this so strange, wierd and complex to get accomplished?
Appreciate the guidance!

Do you mean the Internet server or my local PC internet connection? I don't believe either of them have a static IP. Although my mysql server does have a constant IP that my domain is attached to?
I have not forwarded any ports, not really sure what the heck that is doing.
So if I need to be able to access 3306 on a remote mysql server, I need to forward 3306 to my IP address?
Appreciate the guidance!

I am trying to open port 80, 3306, 30000, and 30001 .... I did everything properly, I have a static IP address, I am hooked directly to my cisco router, but when I go to this website http://www.whatsmyip.org/port-scanner/ and scan to see if my ports are open, only port 3306 shows that is open, all the other ports time out... Please help me.

    Hi Bertrude,
The DPC3825 is an internet service provider (ISP) supported product. You will need to contact them or your technology reseller from where you purchased the device to assist you with your question.

  • Azure can block mysql output port (3306)?

    hello,
i have two servers one stays in Azure and one in Amazon.
in some moments of day i get error when try connect in mysql(Amazon), for test, i tryed make a telnet.
    if i try
    "telnet amazon 22"
    i got sucess
    if i try
    "telnet amazon 3306"
    i got failure
My question is " azure firewall or something can block some port automaticaly for some reason ? "
how i can "fix" this block?
    Thanks

    Hello mscampos92,
    1. How have you connected your servers from Azure and Amazon?
Please ensure that you have port 3306 from the portal.
To configure an endpoint for the MySQL Server service:
    1. In the Azure Management Portal, click Virtual Machines, click the name of your MySQL virtual machine, and then click Endpoints.
    2. In the command bar, click Add.
    3. On the Add an endpoint to a virtual machine page, click the right arrow.
    4. If you are using the default MySQL TCP port of 3306, click MySQL in Name, and then click the check mark.
    5. If you are using a different TCP port, type a unique name in Name. Select TCP in protocol, type the port number in both Public Port and Private Port, and then click the check mark.
To add a Windows Firewall rule that allows MySQL traffic from the Internet, run this command at an administrator-level Windows PowerShell command prompt on the MySQL server computer.
New-NetFirewallRule -DisplayName "MySQL56" -Direction Inbound –Protocol TCP –LocalPort 3306 -Action Allow -Profile Public
You can refer to this link for more information on this:
    http://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/documentation/articles/virtual-machines-mysql-windows-server-2008r2/
As long as you have the ports open, Azure would not block the sql output.
However, if this does not work, I request you to let me know how exactly you have connected your servers.

  • MySQL Port 3306

I can't get any access to my remote MySQL databases via Port 3306. I'm at a lost as to what to look at. I installed the latest MySQL and have MySQL Administrator working OK. I've used Tinkertool to look at the directories and have /var/mysql/mysql.sock correct (I believe). I've looked at /tmp/mysql.sock and it aliases to /var/mysql/mysql.sock. About a week ago I was able to use Navicat to access remote MySQL databases fine. The only think I can think of is that MAMP may have corrupted something.
I have the same setup and settings on my PC with regards to Navicat and can access all my remote MySQL databases.
    TIA
MacBook Pro   Mac OS X (10.4)

Did you grant access to the user to connect from the host you are using? Probably your user can only access from localhost. To see if this the case connect to the server and then do this:
    1- use mysql;
    2- select host, user from user;
You will probably get something like this:
    ----------------+------
    | host | user |
    ----------------+------
    | computername.local | |
    | computername.local | root |
    | localhost | |
    | localhost | root |
    ----------------+------
    Hope this helps.

  • I can't access my IMAP port remotely.  Why?

I can't access my IMAP port remotely. Why?
    <p>
If you can access your IMAP port using telnet on the host, but not
remotely, this is most likely a DNS issue. IMAP is different from POP
and SMTP in that it does a DNS search. Check the DNS Service
Search Order, and delete any entries that are questionable
(i.e. an ISP that may not be reachable) and try connecting again.

Please provide a little more information. What exactly are you trying to do? Bluetooth on iOS devices is not set up to share files and photos. If you can tell us what you want to accomplish we can tell you how to do it.

  • Mini Display Port Not Working, WHY?

When I first got my MacPro I tried to display two monitors and couldn’t as the Mac didn’t detect anything fed from the Mini Display Port.
When connecting Either my BenQ M2700HD, BenQ FP222W or My Wacom Cintiq 12wx to the MAC via the Mini Display Port none of them were detected by the MAC. However all 3 work through the DVI Port on the MACPRO itself.
I have tried 2 HDMI>MiniDisplayPort (officail apple) adapters in order to rule out the adapter itself and neither fixed the problem.
Therefore I can only guess that its the Mini Display Port’s internal connection.
Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

I havent yet opened up the computer as im hoping i can solve the problem without doing so.
It's a mac pro so all it takes to get inside is to take the lid off, right?  Not a big deal.  But so far, for this problem, I'm not sure what you would plan to do whle "in" there.
I checked all external connections and they are all 100% secure and fully seated.
    Ok.
I have notice that when i turn the 2nd monitor on/off (on the monitor itself) the 1st monitor flashes blue.
Why would it be doing this and still not detect the monitor itself?
Because a video card problem?  Maybe you need a replacement.   I supose it's possible for the mDPs to not wiork even though the DVI does.

  • Small rmi program opens several ports; what and why?

I don't know why you think that's unexpected. This particular connection may be for DGC purposes, but there is nothing harmful or unexpected about it. Or it may be a client connection. Which is the entire purpose of the exercise.

or should'nt it disappear after the object is bound ?Why?
why is there suddenly an active connection with 2171 ?Either also for DGC purposes or for a client connection. Why do you think this is a problem?

super(220);Why are you using a reserved port number here? Port 220 is reserved for IMAP v3 servers. See [RFC 1700|http://www.ietf.org/rfc/rfc1700.txt]. Use a port number above 1024 please.
I think you're getting confused because you're running the server and the client on the same host. Run them on separate hosts, then running netstat on the server host will give you a much clearer picture.

  • Pages to ePub... why so difficult? where are my page breaks?

So my book is at the editors and I wanted to start to look into publishing to iBooks. So from pages I exported to ePub and the final book looked terrible. So I went through all the forums and I have got to say that there is no step by step guide to accomplish this. So I put it out there to see if someone can help.
My book is all text, it has 18 chapters and countless page breaks. How can I make the ePub look and work like my pages? Lets start simple no HTML or PDF.
    1. Should I open up a new pages document and set it up a certain way then copy paste from my original pages to this new pages. If so how should this be set up?
    2. Is there a font that I should write in that will not make ePub bonkers
    3. Page breaks... how do I keep these when exporting to ePub?
    4. the Apple template to Export to ePub... I just don't understand how to use this... is there a step by step guide?
Lastly, I was very surprised this is so difficult to accomplish... sure Apple makes it simple to export to ePub but the final product is nothing like what I have in pages... so is there a program that I can use where tweaking is not nessesary?
Thanks to all for any help!

    Thanks Tom,
I did jump on this but I don't know what I am doing wrong. I figured that there could be a set up (when you start a new pages project) one can do before starting a project with pages so exporting to ePub can be seemless (choosing the right fonts etc.) I followed the instructions but the chapters never show up in the table of contents before I export. I have used both page break and section break and started with chapter name (i write in my own chapter name in the same font still does not show up.
And don't get me started on page breaks! when I cant even get my chapters to start on a new page! BTW I export to itunes then use iBooks...
A step by step youtube video guide would be nice... all I have found is this:
    http://www6.district125.k12.il.us/staffdev/tutorial/using_pages_to_create_epub_f iles.pdf
And I follow it but I must be doing something wrong...
Do you have a suggestion on chapter and page breaks?

  • My USB 3.0 ports stop working, why?

    Hello!
I have a Line 6 UX2 audio interface since 5-6 years back, not sure.
It has been working perfectly with several Macbooks, an iMac and a Windows PC.
I bought the new Macbook Pro Retina (2.6 GHz, 16 GB RAM) and it worked for a while.
The symptom is that the USB ports suddenly stop working, the audio interface goes down with the rest of the devices (I have a USB 3.0 drive, a USB 2.0 drive and USB dongles for Cubase and Reason). This only happens (to my knowledge at least) when the audio interface is connected. And more often when audio starts playing (an application starts using the device) than random.
Now, this could be a hardware fault you say, but no. I've had other problems with this computer and have had the motherboard (which for Retina Macbook includes RAM, CPU, etc) replaces TWICE. And the same problem with all of the motherboards.
Now, I have checked Console when this error happens, and a kernel driver is outputting a message:
    1/1/12 7:11:46.000 AM kernel[0]: USBF:
    1046.276
    AppleUSBXHCI[0xffffff81c472c000]::UIMRootHubStatusChange - HSE bit set:5 (1)
After this the USB ports are dead until I reboot. All applications using mounted USB drives get the beach ball, including Finder.
Either there is a problem with the Line 6 driver, or with Apples USB controller drivers. But while searching on the net I've found that other people have similar symptoms with other audio interfaces from other makers.
Me and several other have posted on Line 6:s forums about this issue:
    http://line6.com/support/message/396153
So basically, I am hoping that this issue gets forwarded to Apples hardware driver engineers, I'm guessing they are the only ones who knows whats going on and can fix it. But any input at all is very welcome of course!

Since your computer is at least relatively new, I would call AppleCare (if you're within your 9-day phone support or if you actually purchased the AppleCare extended warranty) and work with them. No Apple engineers here - just us users...

  • Server refused to allow connection on port 993..why?

I've never used Mail before but tonight I've been trying to get it to work to no avail. I used a site from my university telling how to set it up so I can get my university email through Mac OSX Mail..it's a bit dated but I figure the info is mostly the same: http://www.cs.unm.edu/computerfacilities_and_support/email/mac_os_xmail/
Anyway it says to click the USE SSL box and port 993. Then when I try to get the mail it says the mail.unm.edu has refused connection to port 993.
What do I do now? Thanks!!

Oh i see. Okay please try signing out from the safari yahoo. Then go to safari and clear the history.  Double tap on your device to also clear the mail app. Then go back to General settings, then Mail, Contacts, Calendar settings, try to add the yahoo account again. Put in your email and password, hit done, and then tell me what happens after that. Do not proceed please until you tell me what you see. Thanks

  • Port 3306 worked until 25-05-13 but doesnt anymore

I've set up a small mysql server using a raspberry pi and have set up a second pi that is to be installed abroad (dynamic dns client for a network with a webcam).
I have written a script (php) that used to execute every 30 mins and connect to a mysql db my Pi at home and write a status log. The last log i have in there is on the 25th of May (2013) at 08:45 then the port seems to have closed. Since then I've tried restoring factory defaults and reopening the port but to no avail.
Has anyone else had a similar issue?  Are BT blocking certain ports or something? On the server I also have port 22 (ssh) and port 80 (www) open and they're working fine :-/
    Thanks in advance
    Mark
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

If you are on option 1 broadband, then BT are implementing GG-NAT which will stop port forwarding from working' unless you opt out.
Look on my website for port forwarding for more info.
There are some useful help pages here, for BT Broadband customers only, on my personal website.

  • WRT54G v4 allowing port 3306 for MySql

What steps are required to unlocking this port? I need to be able to connect to my server via this port, and the router is somehow blocking it.

If you have connected your Server Behind the Router, First you need to login to your Router, with the web base tool... Open IE : in the address bar type  : 192.168.1.1, leave the Username "Blank" Password Typed "admin" in lower case. Go to Application and Gameing Tab and you do Port Forwarding.

  • Unable to open port 443. Why?

    Hello-
I'm trying to open port 443 on my Airport Extreme Dual Band . In the Airport Utility, I tried in the port mapping tab. I entered 443 in the TCP and UDP areas and the IP of the computer in that section. I also tried only TCP and only UDP. It was not functioning correctly.
Then I opened Network Utility and did a port scan. It did not show 443. I called my ISP and they do not block it.
What else could be blocking it? Anything I haven't thought of?
    Thanks in advance.
    Kirk

    Same here!
After configuring AX, namely putting 443 for both TCP ports, with or without choosing the "Remote Login - SSH" service, and finally restarting, I still get the following message from Slink:
+External port 443 is closed. Manually configure your broadband gateway to map external TCP port 443 to TCP port 22 on internal host 10.0.1.2.+
Checking the Port Scan in Network Utility, I can see
    +Open TCP Port: 22 ssh+,
    but no sign for 443...
