  • Passing parameter to a portal page that display a WSRP portlet ?

    I have created, deployed and regisered a WSRP portlet to Portal 10.1.4. I also create a portal page used to render this portlet. I would like to pass in a parameter xx (thru the HTTPRequest) when calling this page and have it visible to the portlet inside the page. Something like http://host:port/portal/page/portal/myPortlets/portletA?xx=123 where
    "http://host:port/portal/page/portal/myPortlets/portletA" represented my portal page and "xx=123" is what I want my page to see.
    Is it even possible/support by Portal 10.1.4 ?
    Thanks.

  • Exposing portal page as portlet

    Hi All,
    I know that a Portal page can be published as a portlet (by configuring "optional" tab of the page's properties).
    My question is simple (sorry for this), how can we use this page as a portlet ? I try to do using portlet search but just can not find the page previously configured as portlet.
    thanks a lot

    Sorry, but I found the answer. I had a system problem that prevented me to do that simple thing.

  • How to expose JSR168 portlets from existing JSF webapp?

    Hi all,
    I have a web application with JSF components, and a set of JSP pages that use these components. In WEB-INF, I also have a standard portlet.xml which describes what JSP page to expose for the declared portlet(s).
    Is there any administrative interface in the WebLogic Portal that would automatically detect these portlets as soon as I deploy the webapp, so that I can display them ? My idea is that as soon as this webapp with the portlet.xml is deployed, my portlets should be added to the list of available portlets somewhere. Is that so with the WebLogic portal ? Thanks very much for your feedback.
    P.S: I am using WebLogic Portal 10.0
    Regards,
    Angel

    I'm not sure I understand your question. It sounds like you have JSF (faces) components and JSP pages; do you also have JSR168 portlets? The WEB-INF/portlet.xml file should have nothing to do with JSF / JSP pages; it is used only to declare JSR168 portlets.
    To try and answer your question though, if you have JSR168 portlets listed in WEB-INF/portlet.xml, these portlets should show up in the administrative tools when the webapp deploys.

  • Small pop up window inside a portal page

    My portal page has one html portlet. I need to have a small pop-up window on this page which contains periodically changing messages(message is retrieved from a table in the database). The popup window should appear if the message inside the popup message has changed, otherwise it should not appear.
    this is my code below:
    declare
    cursor cur_popup is
    SELECT POPUP_MSG_READ_FLG
    FROM app_users
    WHERE PORTAL_USER_ID = portal30.wwctx_api.get_user();
    BEGIN
    open cur_popup;
    fetch cur_popup into msg_read;
    close cur_popup;
    IF msg_read = 'N' THEN
    url := PORTAL30.wwv_user_utilities.get_url('CAPS.LINK_POPUP');-- links to a portal page with popup
    portal30.wwv_redirect.url(p_url => url);
    ELSE
    url := PORTAL30.wwv_user_utilities.get_url('CAPS.LINK_without_popup');--links to a duplicate portal page without popup
    portal30.wwv_redirect.url(p_url => url);
    END IF;
    END;
    I don't want to maintain duplicate portal pages -one with onLoad=window.open('popup') and the other page without the pop up.
    Pls. suggest an alternate method. How can I pass parameters to the portal page and retrieve it in my portlet's javascript? Please let me know as I need it urgently.

    Hi Lavanya. I have implemented the same.
    Within my oracle tags, I'm using htp.print to produce the javascript for opening the window if it has not yet been viewed. It gets a bit confusing to produce one language syntax with another, but seems to work fine - you're kind of saved by pl/sql's single quote syntax vs. javascript double quotes!
    Some improvements I'd like to make are for cases where the browser has cached the content (which tells the browser to open a popup window) and to produce a receipt when the user clicks "OK" in the popup, rather than when the page is delivered.
    Let me know how it goes. Sounds like a common need - maybe we should get together and publish a new portal component! :^) Thanks, Luke.
    My portal page is not generated from within my pl/sql. My code just calls the link which,in turn calls the portal page. The portal page contains a html portlet, and the popup window is opened from <body onLoad = window.open(.....)>
    so, i cannot use htp.p here.
    Pls. help!!

  • How to debug JSR168 portlets

    Hi,

  • Content Area in Portal Page: subfolder vs category

    Hi everybody,
    i've tried to publish a content area + navbar in a portal page: if i click to a SUBFOLDER on the folder portlet , the subfolder appears in the context of the portal page. But if i click a link to a CATEGORY, the category is loaded in the content area and not in the portal page. Does anybody know how to keep the content area in the portal page, that is
    to refresh the
    portlet in the context of the portal page ?
    Thanks.

    Currently not possible. We're considering this for a future release.

  • Public Portal Page

    I am looking to create a public page with the login portlet as part of the page and also other dynamic public portlets.
    Is it possible to create a portal page that has static data, and portlets such as the login portlet that can be viewed by anyone.

    Yes, you can create a page, include the login portlet and make it available for public.
    I would not recommend to make this page the startpage of your portal since you want to include dynamic content. The startpage needs to load quick, dynamic content will increase the time it takes to load the page since you can't use time based caching.

  • Unable to bind portlet parameter with page parameter in webcenter portal

    Hi All,
    I am trying to bind portlet parameter with the page parameter so that I can ahieve some business requirements.
    Here is what I did,
    In my Portlet producer application:
    1) Created standards based portlet (jsr 286) with view.jspx and edit.jspx with rest of the things being default.
    2) In my portlet.xml created two parameters and assigned these parameters to the portlet created above.
    3) In the view.jspx added couple of output label adf components in the page.
    4) deployed this to integrated weblogic server.
    In my WC portal application:
    Created a new page and added the portlet to this page( WSRP connection already exists).
    deployed portal application on integrated server.
    In the edit mode of the page I added one page parameter(Param1) and some default (constant) value added.
    What I want is this:
    when Param1 value is One display first output label and
    when Param1 value is Two display second output label.
    I am using jdev 11.1.1.5.0 with integrated weblogic server.

    There is no need to use page parameters for this.
    You also have two types of parameters depending on what you want...
    1) Preferences: these parameters can be used on a user based level. This means that users can personalize the portlets. When a user change the value of a preference, it is only applied for that specific user
    2) Public parameters: these parameters are used to customize the portlet. The value you set in these parameter apply for all users.
    I have made a simple example to show these two differences: http://www.yonaweb.be/PortletTest.zip
    The portlet has 4 inputText on it. The first two can be set by specifying One or Two into the preference.
    The other 2 inputText uses the value of the public parameter.
    You should only deploy the portlet and consume it in a webcenter application. In the webcenter application, you don't need to do anything special. All is done in the portlet.
    I am guessing you don't have written the code that will get the value of the parameter:
    in case of a preference you will get the value by following code:
       PortletRequest request = (PortletRequest)FacesContext.getCurrentInstance().getExternalContext().getRequest();
       PortletPreferences preferences = request.getPreferences();
       return preferences.getValue("outputparam", "One");In case of a public parameter (for customization instead of personalization) you use following code to retreive the value of a public parameter:
    PortletRequest req = (PortletRequest)FacesContext.getCurrentInstance().getExternalContext().getRequest();
      String param = (String)req.getParameter("PublicParam");
      if(param == null)
          return "Three";
      return param;This code can also be found in the sample portlet application.

  • Passing Page Parameters to a JSR168 Portlet - Enable Portlet Params

    We have created a JSR168 portlet in JDeveloper. Once an instance of that portlet is added to a portal page, we want the portlet instance to also received a render request parameter from the page it has been placed on.
    I know how to physically add/associate page parameters to a portlet via the portal's page properties tab. However, I am not sure how you configure the JSR168 portlet so that it has parameters that you can associated to the page parameter. Whenever I try to associate parameters to my portlet, it indicates that I have "no parameters".
    Is there a special method to configure these parameters within the portlet so that they show up on the page property's parameter tab? Do I need to create entries in the portlet.xml file to enable this? Is there a special configuration setting on the provider?
    Any help on this would be greatly appeciated.
    Thanks,
    Tony

    Hi Tony,
    As you said in your post,
    "I know how to physically add/associate page parameters to a portlet via the portal's page properties tab. However, I am not sure how you configure the JSR168 portlet so that it has parameters that you can associated to the page parameter."
    I think you first need to declare the public portlet parameters in the provider.xml of your JDeveloper project, eg.
    <inputParameter class="oracle.portal.provider.v2.DefaultParameterDefinition">
    <name>PortletPara_MainCat</name>
    <displayName>PortletPara_MainCat</displayName>
    <description>PortletPara_MainCat</description>
    </inputParameter>
    Then, on the page you add the portlet, you will see the declared portlet parameters in the parameter tag page. Finally, link the page parameters with portlet parameters.
    thanks

  • How to get Page URL inside a JSR168 Portlet

    Hi,
    How can i get the Portal's page URL inside a JSR168 Portlet?

  • How to pass page parameter to report portlet ?

    Portal: 9.0.4
    RDBMS: 9.0.1.5.0
    OS: Windows
    REF: How to pass page parameter to report portlet ?
    Hi,
    I create a Oracle Report as a Portlet in Portal (create Report Definition File Access and check on the option "Publish As Portlet" in the on the last step). My report has an "Additional User Parameter" and I has let it "Visible to user".
    When I put this portlet in my Portal page, I can see this parameter in the property/parameters of this page. However I cannot transfer my page parameter to this portlet parameter. Other portlets in this page (non-Oracle-Report portlets) are working fine with my page parameter.
    Please advice.

    I want to make sure we are talking about the same thing:
    After you add the portlet to the page, you go to the page properties, then the parameters tab, then there is a section at the bottom called "Portlet Parameter Values" where you can click and expand your portlet to see your portlet parameters.
    Is it here where your parameters just don't show up?
    If it is, try the following:
    - Add the portlet to another page and see if it still behaves the same.
    - Mark the parameters in the portlet as being non-public, re-generate portlet (on manage tab), then mark them as being public, re-generate and then try the above again (add to another page).

  • Order of execution of JPDK Portlets inside the same Portal Page

    We have 2 Sample JPDK Portlets from the same provider on our page
    - A LoginPortlet that accepts the username and Password
    - A Welcome Bin Portlet that shows the logged in user's details
    Once the user enters username and password in the LoginPortlet, we authenticate the user and set his username and other details in the 'ProviderSession'.
    Further, in the Welcome Bin Portlet, we access the username and other details of the user from the 'ProviderSession' and display.
    Though this solution seems to be working most of the time, we have an issue at times when the Welcome Bin Portlet executes before the LoginPortlet and hence is unable to fetch the userName and other details which are not yet set in the 'ProviderSession'. Hence, wanted to know if there is an execution order that we can enforce on the Portlets in a Portal Page, so that we can mandate that LoginPortlet Rendering shall happen before WelcomeBinPortlet Rendering.
    Further, had it been a JSR168 Portlet, I understand that we could set the details over to the 'ProviderSession' in the 'ProcessAction' method of the LoginPortlet, which for sure gets executed before the Rendering of all the portlets. Is there a similar way or a hack while using JPDK?

    The Private Event Submission sample portlet shows how to achieve this. It is part of the PDK download.
