Portfolio PDF Help needed

Hello everyone!
I have created an A4 landscape Portfolio in Illustrator CC to send as PDF to clients with 18 pages total. File is 10 MG, too big to send to clients, I need real advice...

My original file use to weight more than 20MG, but I reduce the size by saving the artwork in Photoshop CC as images, so I made sure this settings were set:
All, 150 dpi
RGB mode.
JPG format
(take a look at the image, and feel free to advice)
Then I went back to my Illutrator CC file and I placed all the images...
in all honest, it took a while till I made sure it all layed out almost perfectl and had to solve other minor issues.
The question is... How would you have created your PDF portfolio to send to clients or for print?
Do you start by schetching, like I did? and use In-Design instead of Illustrator?
Can you specify as detail as possible?
Also recently I made a small presentation in Illutrator CC for a client, file is 17MG if I Zip it, it becomes 14MG.
In this case, for this type of presentation I use PNG images with transparecy, some vector illustrations with shadows... I know this increases the size, but how do you get a good resolution?
I saved the file as High Quality Print. But when I tried sending the file it took ages, and it wasnt even sent. What is the max recommended weight of file?
Be as open as possible, I am happy to hear all construcctive criticism.

No, I haven't tried the frist option, but I will test it... im curious!
Have you tried to File>Print and use Acrobat Distiller with Properties>Conversion Settings>eBook (you may edit the settings and get a customized set)?
Number 2... What exactly do you mean by uploading it to my site? you mean have a section so clients can download it? or from the FTP? If you have time this is my site: www.dolodesign.com , maybe you can take a quick look and explain? ... I appretiate your time.
Or have you considered just uploading it to your site and email a link to (possible) clients?

Import a PDF - Help needed

Hi,
I imported a PDF document through SFP to a new form. The PDF document has 12 pages of the same content. I have done the mappings for one page. Should I do the mappings for all the other pages similarly or is there any way to copy one page with mappings to the other page as well.
Please help me in this regard.

What we typically do, is take a pdf, and run it through Formbridge. So, open formbridge, click Translate, then browse out to the file you want to convert. It'll ask you where you want to save it (usually in the same folder you picked the file up from), then click ok, and it should convert it. Once the conversion is completed, open Output Designer, click file, import. Browse to the folder you converted the file to, and select the fif file (that's the extension it names it once it's been converted) and click open. It may prompt you to choose a font or two during the import, but just select whatever is closest to what was on the original artwork.
Once the import is completed, you may need to touch it up, but it shoud come over pretty cleanly. Hope this helps!

Help needed placing extra images in my portfolio.

I like to add some more pictures by my portfoliomap.
I have now 6 items each page and i like to know if its possible to add some more pictures and how i can do this?

Upload the images to the images folder and use the markup as you have been using in the following, changing the name of the image to suit.

Help with Portfolio PDF

I was given a page PDF. The 2 pages in it are updates to a 10 or so page PDF. I am using Acrobat Pro 9.5.1. It appears the original 10-page PDF is saved in some sort of "Portfolio" format. When I open it, I see this PDF Portfolio window:
There on the right side are the options for the layout of the "Portfolio" PDF and other stuff pertaining to the format of a Portfolio PDF. However, I can't see previews of any of the pages. I can't seem to import the 2 new pages to replace the 2 old ones. Any ideas?

Email is not the best way to transfer e-documents; it can get damaged, misdirected, or lost.
Far safer is to use a file sharing service like Acrobat.com, Dropbox, Google Drive, ..., then send the download link via email.

Viewing of a portfolio pdf

Prerequisites: Acrobat v9.1.2, a pdf portfolio file with following template: show 1st page of 1st file
If I open the portfolio pdf the file opens with the defined template. If I open the file via link in an other pdf, it shows the file content and the default opening window (downlaod Adobe Reader and so on - see picture01). Where is the error?

I've been trying to hide the file name myself. It seems intuitive that, while in the Modify area of the PDF Portfolio, under "Specify File Details" that one would simply unclick "Name" under "Columns to Display".
But all that seems to do is hide it while I'm within the Modify section. I save and go back to view the pdfs and there are the file names.
Anyone out there know the answer? Even if it's just a link to more info, that would be great. I need to get this out but without the filenames. I've searched in Google but no good info.
BTW, the Description option is a nice touch and shows upon immediate hover. That's why I don't need to show a file name. Plus, you can write more in the description than is viable/sensible in a file name.

Cannot open portfolio PDF in IE after upgrading from Reader 10.1.4 to 10.1.5

We recently updgraded Reader from 10.1.4 to 10.1.5. Any PDF document that contains a portfolio will no longer open in IE. The portfolio pdf document will open correctly from within Adobe Reader. Also all other pdf documents, execpt portfolio pdf documents, will open correctly in IE.
Please let me know if you have any suggestions on how to troubleshoot this issue.

To view Portfolio in IE you need a separate Flash player plugin which you can download from the following link:

Step1: Select your target OS
Step: Select Flash player for IE
Once you have installed the same, please restart your browser.

Help need to switch Muse site to BC on a allready hosted plan

Hi, i also posted on BC forum...
I have a client that was in a hurry to have his emails accounts before the entire website.
So i went on and bought the email marketing plan (cos he will also need to do email campains) an pointed his domain everything is working fine, at this moment he has his accounts the domain is live.
The site would be just a small 7-10 pages not to complicated.
Has a graphic designer (who has venture into Business catalyst cos it had all the solutions i needed, well that's what the promotional videos said anyway) I made a site in Muse.
First i did a temporary page thats says "comming soon", and then i made the entire site, all the design and menu but with blank pages cos the client didnt have all the content yet (and still dont have). I uploaded that site to a sub directory so he could see the evolution.
He approved the design, yay!
At the end of the process, he told me he needed to have full control with the editor. (style, images, bulleted list, need to put downloadable document like pdf etc.) i told him that he could only modify what was allready there with the Muse in Browser editing (that he saw when i made the pitch using another site) he was impress with the way it worked.
so i told him i would have to remake "template".
I thought of using a BC template, and modify the looks to adapt to my client image, Of course, use a responsive theme so he could make the change at one place only. (cos in Muse you need to make the changes on the 3 layouts).
Now, i created a new temporary site using one of the new responsive template available.
How can i import that new site onto his live domain? In other words, how can a switch from a theme made in Muse, to a BC template?
cant i just delete everything in the root folder, and upload the entire new site via ftp?
please help me find the solution. i am a bit in a panic here

Thanks for additional details.
Unfortunately we cannot change site template of a live site in BC , but as a workaround Create a site from BC using the template you wish to use then publish the site from Muse to the site created from BC and transfer the contents stored from live site to trial site. Ater final transition is done , you can delete the already paid site and make live the new trial site which includes new site template.

Where can I find PDF Help files for CS5?

I have CS5 Design Standard ( without extended Photoshop) and I need to get the PDF help files for the component applications. I have tried entering CS5 Help Files and variations of that theme in the search box here at Adobe forums and get many things about CS6 and no Help files for CS5. The search tool here should be googleized or something. 2many adds for new things 2 buy not enough help for what you already bought.

Run the cleaner, reinstall.
Use the CC Cleaner Tool to solve installation problems | CC, CS3-CS6
And don't bother with running any updates unless you really need them or they fix a critical issue relevant to your workflow.

You can either ignore those errors (since they have no impact on your page's functionality) or you can use DW to convert your page to an HTML5 doctype (File > Convert > HTML 5, and then the errors will go away.

Help needed using adobe exportpdf

The first time I used adobe export pdf it worked well. However the next time and every other time I try to convert a pdf doc to word docx I get the error message at the end of the uploading session. "pdf doc failed to export to m,icrosoft word. There was an unexpected problem.
Anyone overcome this problem?

               Thanks for that info. I was aware of the 100MB limit but
your response made me think again and go back to the problem and this is
what I found. The first pdf document I uploaded into Adobe export pdf was 43
MB and it went through fine. when I looked at the conversion to Word docx I
found it had been transformed into 83MB.
So the conversion (which was a children's book with lots of images in it)
resulted in an increase of MBs by a factor of 1.7.
The second pdf document I uploaded was 64MB and this failed. If I apply the
1.7 factor then the Word docx I wanted was going to be 109MB and therefore
over the 100MB limit.
I didn't know that converting pdf to word would increase the MB like that.
Why, I don't know so thanks for your help I've learnt something new.

PDFActions on xMII12. Help needed immediately???

Good Day everyone. I face a problem when trying to deploy PDFActions.jar file in xMII 12. The procedure i followed is ,
1) I created a file called catalog.xml from the PDFComponentCatalog.xml file which presents in xMII 11.5.
2) Then i created the PDFActions.jar file along with the xml file.
3) Used Custom Actions link in System Management and added PDFActions.jar file as the assembly file and iText.jar file as the dependency file. The upload was successful and i deployed without any error.
4) When i open workbench i can see a PDF action block on the left side without images, and when i try to add it to a sequence nothing happens. It is not getting added in sequence and i am not getting any error messages
Can anyone help me out on this?

I guess you've been posting this issue for quite sometime now and inspite of getting hints I am not sure why you are coming up with your own steps to resolve the problem.
SAP note 1109054 has been mentioned probably a number of times before and I would advice you to open it up and read through , carefully , with a relaxed mind , no need to panic (read - Help needed immediately???).
The above mentioned note is for 12.0 SP2 so make sure you are on that version and because there have been no postings/notes for SP3 I would think the note would be applicable for SP3 as well.
If you face any issues after that then raise your doubts.

Preloader help needed

We created our portfolio in Flash
Flash Photo Portfolio
and now need a preloader. We were able to create one that waits
until the entire swf is loaded. We need a visual to indicate that
the movie is loading but don't want our viewers to have to wait for
the entire swf to load.
We don't want a dead black screen upon the calling of the
movie, but we don't want to wait for the entire movie to load
before the presentation begins. We have no problem creating the
graphics, it's the scripting help we need. Can anyone point us in a
direction? Thanks!

I would recommend you to try Advanced search option of Acrobat software, Go to Edit and then Advanced search.
