Portlet Background Color Disappearing

Hi,
I am using ver 9.0.4.0.99 of Portal and I'v create several Navigation Pages for the top banner and footer of my page. The banner is divided into two regions each holding an image. To 'fill in' the white space that surrounds the images I've specified a background color (blue) in a 'banner style' and added it to each region.
When we look at the Navigation Page alone, all looks well, but when we add the Navigation Page as a portlet to our root page in a banner region, the background color just disapears. I am left with two images surrounded by
whitespace.
I have just recently done the same process (nav pages with separate styles) in version 9.0.2.6 for another company and I did not have this problem. It worked fine. I even went back to make sure I followed the exact same steps and settings.
Has something changed with this version (9.0.4.0.99)?
Any ideas what we are doing wrong? Thx for your input.

Sorry guys - wrong forum. Please ignore.

    In the properties for your navigation page, on the Others tab, ensure the "Use Style Of Page On Which Portlet Is Placed " checkbox is unchecked. This should force it to use the style you picked in the banner page and not on the display page. Please note this checkbox only has affect on item regions in the navigation page. Portlet regions on the navigation page will take the colors from the style on the display page.
    Hope this helps,
    Candace

  • The canvas background color disappeared when using updateDisplayList

    If I put code in the updateDisplayList for canvas. The
    background color is disappeared. if I called
    super.updateDsplayList(), all the drawing is not show.
    What 's wrong with my code or Canvas class?

    Yes, it is the same drag and drop project.
    I changed color of draw rectangle The rectangle showed up. If
    I called super.updateDisplayList(unscaledWidth, unscaledHeight) in
    updateDisplayList function, the background will show up, however,
    show in front of the rectangle.
    There are 2 problems:
    1> background color is show in front of rectangle,
    2> I set rectangle.x=0, rectangle.y=0, but the begin point
    is out side of the the canvas.

  • Portlet background color

    I'm new to plumtree. The question I have is how can I change the default white background color of a page? I created portlet and add it into myPage. But the background color is white.

    Hi, Mike.
    It sure doesn't look like it from the administration tool! I will check
    around and see if anyone has figured out how to do this!

  • Convert  background colors to PDF from Word 03

    When I convert a Word document to Acrobat PDF the background color disappears.  What do I do?

    It may depend on how you are converting. If you are printing, be sure that WORD is set to print the background colors. Printing background colors is often turned off to prevent using up the toner in a regular printer.

  • Background color help

    I am a beginner, so please bare with me...   I added background color to a new project, placed the image and saved.  When I export the saved image as a jpeg, the background color disappears.  Why is this?

  • How to change the background color only for one HTML-Portlet?

    Hi all,
    I have created a HTML-Portlet in my root-page. The root page have a style: Main-Style.
    I want to change the background-color only for this one HTML-Portlet:
    <html>
    <header><title>Test</title></header>
    <body bgcolor="#999999">
    Test
    </body>
    </html>
    But this does not work...
    When I use the CSS, then it will change the background-color for the root-page too.
    Thans
    Leonid Pavlov

    could you try this
    <table bgcolor="#999999">
    <tr>
    <td>
    test
    </td>
    </tr>
    </table>
    I don't think you need <html><header><title>Test</title></header>
    <body></body></html> for your HTML-Portlet.

  • No background color on pop-up text labels in dock

    Something strange has happened to my dock. Normally when I mouse over an icon, text appears above it saying the name of the program. The text is white on a dark gray background. Recently I have noticed that the dark gray background has disappeared, leaving only white text. In some cases this makes it completely unreadable depending on the position of any open windows. I have looked in the preferences pages but I can't find any option to change the background color for the pop-up text.
    Note that I don't have any customization programs installed.
    Any help is appreciated.

    Try using a web safe color (one of the 256 colors shown in
    the pop up palette in Dreamweaver) color # 7dabef is not in that
    group. By the way, it doesn’t show up in Netscape either.
    This limitation kind of stinks, but ot’s something we
    have to live with, and you need to get used to the limitations if
    you want to publish for multiple browsers and monitor setups.
    However, I could be wrong… since a test of your color
    shows up in a table background in all 3 browsers… and it
    shows in all three browsers when set as a page property…
    So… setting the background color in CSS (using your css
    file unaltered) shows the color in EI, but not FF or NS… so,
    I’m learning something here as well.
    So, ok… took everything out of the style sheet except
    for :
    body {
    background-color: #7dabef;
    And your background shows up in all the browsers… so
    now, to figure out what is conflicting with it…
    Thanks Bash... I was working in that direction, and you
    jumped in and fixed it...

  • Footer now floating in middle of page and no background color

    Hello all,
    Been working on this for days with no luck. I hope someone can spot the silly mistake, because I know it has to be something silly but it's driving me round the bend! The page has always been just fine until I recoded part of the body (the four columns with titles, photos, and text) to help with 508 compliance. Since then, the orange footer that was firmly at the bottom has started floating half way up the page and the background orange color has disappeared.
    I've gone through my code line by line, marking off each beginning and ending div tag and everything is fine there. Below, is a screenshot of the lower half of the page showing how the footer should look.
    Here is a screenshot of how it looks offline right now:
    as you can hopefully see, the footer has lost it's orange background and is sitting halfway up the page.
    Here is the HTML code:

    What I found after taking out the heights from the text areas is that I was left with uneven text column lengths (alternating beige areas). So I created a repeatable jpg with the same alternating beiges and put it as the background of the bodyArea tag. Again, if there is a better way, please let me know!
    A repeating background image to 'fake' equal height columns is perfectly ok.
    It won't work IF your page is responsive but it isn't so no problem. If it were responsive a better solution would be to take advantage of the css property display: table; and display: table-cell;
    In reference to your footer background color not showing I would assume you have floated items within the footer container. If so then you need to clear those floated items which allows the footer container to wrap itself around the floated items inside it.
    You would do this by using css - overflow: hidden; - on the parent container which has the floats inside it.

  • Blocks/lines of background color show through embedded SWF

    When I place a swf object in Muse, I've found that blocks and lines of the background color will appear and disappear around the edges of animated elements. I've confirmed this is not an issue with the SWF as they play normally if embedded using dreamweaver or exported with an html wrapper from flash. It would be greatly appreciated if anyone knows how to fix this, as I have a much easier time arranging page elements in Muse instead of Dreamweaver.
    Thanks,
    Chris

  • Menu: Background color covers all! Urgent

    Made a DVD with a nice menu.
    Next day, when I wanted to change some detail, it had "disappeared", i.e. it was covered by backgropund color matte (Color could be changed in Preferences, but matte could not be removed).
    Templates dragged-dropped into Menu are also immediately covered by background color.
    Can’t work on the menu, - but can see it in Connections pane.
    Any suggestions, please? I have to deliver a DVD this weekend.

  • Navbar background color desapears!

    Hi,
    When I was working as PORTAL30, everything looks fine! I have a
    navbar as a portlet in the left side of the page with blue
    background color.
    I created other users and usergroups and wanted to test different
    level of security. When I login as another user and click a
    folder on my navbar and go to the content area, the blue color of
    Navbar desapears sometimes(I have the same navbar on Content
    area)! The navigation bar is public.
    We have 3.9.8.0 and IAS 1.0.2.2.0
    I have already read the documnet:
    http://forums.oracle.com/forums/message.jsp?id=473652
    But I do not have background image to use the solution.
    Is there anybody who have/Have had the same problem?
    Thanks in advance

  • How to give Common Background color for all JPanels in My Swing application

    Hi All,
    I am developing a swing application using The Swing Application Framework(SAF)(JSR 296). I this application i have multiple JPanel's embedded in a JTabbedPane. In this way i have three JTabbedPane embedded in a JFrame.
    Now is there any way to set a common background color for the all the JPanel's available in the application??
    I have tried using UIManager.put("Panel.background",new Color.PINK);. But it did not work.
    Also let me know if SAF has some inbuilt method or way to do this.
    Your inputs are valuable.
    Thanks in Advance,
    Nishanth.C

    It is not the fault of NetBeans' GUI builder, JPanels are opaque by default, I mean whether you use Netbeans or not.Thank you!
    I stand corrected (which is short for +"I jumped red-eyed on my feet and rushed to create an SSCCE to demonstrate that JPanels are... mmm... oh well, they are opaque by default... ;-[]"+)
    NetBeans's definitely innocent then, and indeed using it would be an advantage (ctrl-click all JPanels in a form and edit the common opaque property to false) over manually coding
    To handle this it would be better idea to make a subclass of JPanel and override isOpaque() to return false. Then use this 'Trasparent Panel' for all the panels where ever transparency is required.I beg to differ. From a design standpoint, I'd find it terrible (in the pejorative sense of the word) to design a subclass to inconsistently override a getter whereas the standard API already exposes the property (both get and set) for what it's meant: specify whether the panel is opaque.
    Leveraging this subclass would mean changing all lines where a would-be-transparent JPanel is currently instantiated, and instantiate the subclass instead.
    If you're editing all such lines anyway, you might as well change the explicit new JPanel() for a call to a factory method createTransparentJPanel(); this latter could, at the programmer's discretion, implement transparency whichever way makes the programmer's life easier (subclass if he pleases, although that makes me shudder, or simply call thePanel.setOpaque(false) before returning the panel). That way the "transparency" code is centralized in a single easy to maintain location.
    I had to read the code for that latter's UI classes to find out the keys to use (+Panel.background+, Label.foreground, etc.), as I happened to not find this info in an authoritative document - I see that you seem to know thoses keys, may I ask you where you got them from?
    One of best utilities I got from this forum, written by camickr makes getting these keys and their values very easy. You can get it from his blog [(->link)|http://tips4java.wordpress.com/2008/10/09/uimanager-defaults/]
    Definitely. I bit a pair of knucles off when discovered it monthes after cumbersomely traversing the BasicL&F code...
    Still, it is a matter-of-fact approach (and this time I don't mean that to sound pejorative), that works if you can test the result for a given JDK version and L&F, but doesn't guarantee that these keys are there to stand - an observation, but not a specification.
    Thanks TBM for highlighting this blog entry, that's the best keys list device I have found so far, but the questions still holds as to what specifies the keys.

  • Can I change the background color of a video thumbnail to view a silhouettes transparancy in Bridge

    I see this question asked a ton on here, and never EVER am I finding an answer.  I know in the past (Adobe CS 5) in Bridge you could view the transparency of a black silhouette image against a medium grey so you could see the content of the clip.  Adobe changed that with CS 5.5 & on, and never seems to want to answer question when we members ask.  PLEASE ADOBE ANSWER!!
    How can I view a black silhouette image in Bridge when Adobe had decided to make the transparency black instead of grey? (Ideally the transparency of a video file should show as a grid as it does in ALL OTHER Adobe products.
    PLEASE HELP.  We use bridge heavily in production to organize our assets, and this change not being addressed kills our asset searching time because we have to open each clip to view it, rather than being able to preview it, which is what the Bridge is for.
    Thanks.
    P.S.  Do not tell me how to change the programs background color as this is not the question.  The question is how do I change the color of the transparency display for video clips.

    Hi Peter
    The associated FCM file provides us a clue as to Captivate's
    pedigree. What we know today as Captivate is a product that was
    born into the world and dubbed "FlashCam". This file contains
    information about margins. So FCM means, FlashCam Margins.
    If all you are doing is adjusting the colors a bit, you may
    copy the associated files to new names. Then modify the colors as
    desired and all should be well.
    Cheers... Rick
