Posible estafa de Apple - Possible fraud Apple

Hola:
Hello
I bought a iPad in El Corte Ingles. The clerk warned me not to register the iPad in case we wanted to return. I did not record the iPad. When I went to return the iPad to El Corte Ingles, they say the iPad is registered and did not return the money. They say that when I connect the iPad to iTunes, as I have previously created an account (having an iPod) registration is done automatically, in fact I did not see the registration page at any time or had to enter the serial number of IPAD . Have you come across the same to someone else?. If they do not address my claim in El Corte Ingles, I will denounce the two companies (El Corte Ingles and Apple) for fraud. A greeting.

I've just phoned from El Corte Ingles.
They will return the money since they have proven that the registration can be done unintentionally.
Thank you very much.
Me acaban de llamar de El Corte Ingles.
Me van a devolver el dinero puesto que han comprobado que se puede realizar el registro de manera involuntaria.
Muchas gracias.

  • Why is apple online asking me for a screenshot of my online banking logon? possible fraud ?

After purchasing online i've received a mail from [email protected] asking me for strange things to proof my Identity.
Such as CC statement ( including the bank logo?? ) even asking for a screenshot of my online banking logon???
I purchased the laptop by signing into my apple account where the info of CC is already present
So why is this all necessary?.. i was suspicious and informed via obove e mail adress to cancel my order immediately.
Not a very nice experiance at all..  was the first time i've tried to purchase a mac book pro...

Sounds like a scam, you likely placed a real order and somehow someone saw that and got your email and sent you a scam email.
Likely the machine or network you were using is compromised in some fashion.
Buy the machine in a retail store instead.

  • Possible Fraud/Scam E-mail?

I have not idea if this is legit or not. Here is what happened.
The e-mail below was received by me. I have edited the e-mail's link for obvious reasons.
When going to the link it states that it checks for I-Tunes being installed. Then says it was not found and gives me two buttons to choose. One says I have I-Tunes and the other says Download I-Tunes.
Since I have I-Tunes, I chose I have I-Tunes button. At that point, a warning box comes up about installing something. I immediately chose to cancel that.
It seems odd it would be sent out in this matter so I am trying to find some sort of Fraud protection for I-Tunes/Apple so that it can be confirmed.
Here is the e-mail I received.
    Dear Derek,
You were incorrectly charged a second time for a recent purchase on the iTunes Store. We have reversed the incorrect charge and you should see the credit within 3-5 days, depending on how quickly your credit card processes the reversal.
Our customers are very important to us and we'd like to apologize for any inconvenience this might have caused.
Please accept a song from the iTunes Store as part of our apology. You can redeem your code by clicking the link below.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact our customer service team by replying to this email.
**EDIT** Well I took the code part and put that into the redeem section of I-Tunes. It did in fact work and credited me one song. So I'm thinking the e-mail was just a cautious thing by me. Doesn't Apple know that us Windows users are a little paranoid

Derek, as you found, the email was legitimate. This knowledge base document can give you information that can help distinguish the fraudulent emails:

  • What I've learned about iPhone shipping

I've seen quite a few posts (and threads) about shipping times so I thought I'd just write down my own experience in case others may find it helpful.
Ordered on 7/27 and originally had a 7/20 ship & 7/23 delivery date. I started checking my status updates last weekend and noticed it had changed to 'Prepared for Shipment' on 7/10. Thus began my obsessive odyssey of rechecking the status whenever and as often as possible. Here's how it all played out; 6 days from that first status change to delivery.
    Jul 16, 2010 2:52 PM ATLANTA, GA/Delivered
Jul 16, 2010 7:36 AM ATLANTA, GA/On FedEx vehicle for delivery

The Hong Kong and Anchorage stops felt painfully long. Any status updating was very delayed; several hours after the actual event.
Learned there are different options when it comes to checking package status online.
    http://smallbusiness.yahoo.com/r-packageTracker-s-fedex
    http://www.packagetrackr.com/
Both of those had far more 'real-time' updating on the first half of the journey - all the way to Anchorage thru 'International Shipment Release' status. Strangely, after that the Fedex site was far more real-time than the other options. Maybe that was just my case but I definitely noticed that the other options started lagging behind Fedex official tracking at that point.
Seemed a few folks didn't get theirs by the estimated delivery date and it seems the more 'sort facilities' your package has to go through after landing at a main FedEx hub (say Indianapolis or Memphis), the worse your chances. Luckily for me, Atlanta is a quick flight from Memphis and one Sort Facility between the Atlanta airport and my delivery address.
To those waiting on their phones, I will tell you it works great. Haven't had any proximity sensor or reception issues - at least not any different from my experiences with the AT&T network overall which really haven't been great. (Never had a dropped call for years while on Verizon but have always had them happen somewhat regularly on AT&T regardless of type of phone.) Of course, I've only used it for a few hours so we'll see how it goes.
I previously was using an iPhone 3G and this thing is so, so much faster. Any app responds instantaneously. And when I plug it into my Kenwood car stereo with a built-in USB port it plays music and I'm able to scan through the music just as quickly. That wasn't the case before.
    Good luck all.

I ordered 2 iPhone 4's from the AT&T Premier site on July 9 (my company has an agreement with AT&T). My credit card company immediately flagged the purchase as possible fraud, so it took a day or two to clear that up. The order went to "Processing" status on the AT&T Premier site on July 12. It stayed in that status until yesterday, July 20, when it changed to a status of "Shipped" and I got an email from AT&T with the FedEx tracking number. FedEx says that the phones shipped from Texas yesterday night and are on schedule to be delivered to me in Connecticut today (July 21). That's only 8 business days and includes the screw up from my credit card company - better than I expected. The "Processing" time probably included the time it took to ship the phones from Apple's factory in China to the AT&T facility in Texas.
By the way, here's the deal I got from AT&T Premier:
    $38.50 - 550 shared minute plan (1st iPhone)
    $ 9.99 - Additional line (2nd iPhone)
    $19.25 - 2Gb personal data (1st iPhone)
    $19.25 - 2Gb personal data (2nd iPhone)
$ 0.00 - pay as you go texting

  • Payment Method Rejected. Situation Explained.

    Dear All,
Im new to the support communities, and am looking for help.
    Situation:
My Iphone uses "Apple Id #1" with "Creditcard #1."
I bought an Ipad for my father, and have created an apple id for him ("Apple Id #2"), but with "Creditcard #1".
I bought an app for him in the app store with no problem at all.
However, now when I went into my iphone, which uses "Apple Id #1", and want to update my apps, I cannot do this anymore as I constantly receive the message "Payment method rejected, please choose another one".
I have already tried to delete the credit card information in Apple Id #2, as I thought it might be the issue that you cannot have two accounts running on the same credit card, but still on my Apple Id #1, the payment method is rejected.
    Please help resolve this issue!

You may have inadvertently been flagged as possible fraud here, or other...
Contact iTS to make sure this isn't the case, they can also aid in what's causing it if things turn out to be other.

  • Videos/photostream/itunes wifi sync...

So up until ios5, you imported the photos and videos you took on your iphone into iphoto by plugging in your iphone via USB into your mac. It would open up iTunes to sync your music and movies, etc, and it would seperatly open iPhoto to import newly taken pics and videso into your library that it recognized had not already been uploaded.
Now, there is an option to sync to iTunes over Wifi, but it doesn't import your photos and videos from your phone to your iPhoto library, presumably because that's what photostream is for, right? But photostream doesn't handle video. So, if I only take picures on my iphone, then I can use itunes wifi sync to handle my music, podcasts, backup (unless I do my backup via icloud backup), movies and videos I want to include FROM my mac TO my phone, and I can use photostream to make sure any pictures I've taken land up on my iphoto library. BUT... the second I want to take a video on my iphone, then I have to plug the phone into my mac via USB? Just to do that one thing? Is this correct. Plus, what if I've taken 15 pictures and 3 videos on my iphone and I plug it in to grab those videos. Is iPhoto going to know that the pictures have already been received via photostream, and tell me all I need to upload is the videos, or, is it going to say that both the pics and videos are new, and want to upload the pics to my library also, essentially creating two copies of them in my iphoto library?
Am I overlooking something? Do I have this scenario correct?
Is it just me or is the partial overlap of iTunes wired sync vs. iTunes wifi sync vs. iCloud a bit crazy right now?!
    Thanks!
    ryan

I totally agree, I am very frustrated.  I just spoke with Apple support on the phone and confirmed that YES indeed, you still have to plug in the USB cable and manually import your videos into iPhoto, old school style.  I am deeply disappointed by this.  In my family we have 5 different iphones and everyone is constantly taking lots of video of kids and such.  So now this means I have to still manually connect the cable to all 5 phones on a weekly basis and manually import all the videos and delete them from the device (in order to free up space).  This is exactly what I wanted to AVOID by upgrading to iCloud and setting up Photostream and wireless sync and online backups.  I thought videos would be covered too, but they're NOT.  Nowhere on Apple website is this explained clearly.  The apple support person just gave me some lame excuse saying they "may" fix this with iPhone 5.
I think this is false advertising and almost fraudulent.  After a while, you will get a popup message saying that your iCloud storage is running out of space, and asking you to purchase more.  That is because the videos are still staying on your device and consuming more space, so you are running out of your 5G free iCloud storage.  If instead Apple wirelessly imported the videos to iPhoto automatically and cleared up your Camera Roll, you would not run out of space, and hence wouldn't need to purchase more online storage.  This sounds to me like a very sneaky way of making people buy more storage than they really need.   I hope some lawyer looks into this and investigates any possible fraud or false advertising, maybe file a class action lawsuit to force Apple to fix this (rather than Apple forcing consumers to purchase more unnecessary storage).
    BTW, here's my post:  https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3536475

  • How do i put linux onto my macbook?

I have a Mac OS X Macbook and i want to put linux on so i can put limewire on linux. I think you have to partition it. Is there any easy steps to doing this? And should i partition them on my macbook?

    Welcome to Apple Discussions!
There are Limewire versions for Mac OS X. You don't
need to install Linux to get Limewire. Note,
Limewire's vast majority of uses are illegal, and
because they are user to user transfer medium without
any protection against possible fraud, you might find
yourself with software that claims to be final
release, that is beta, songs that are of poor
quality, and video that have key features missing.
In addition, most Limewire clients open up your
machine to a variety of potential hacking because
ports get opened up for you to share your own
software, which could potentially cause someone to
hack your machine. It is better to use known high
quality sources to download software, get music, and
video. Mac OS X has its own command line which you
can learn about through the Applications ->
Utilities -> Terminal, and its own X11 interface, if
you want to add X11 based software using the X11
installer found on your original installer disks
    that came with your MacBook.
If your uses for Limewire are legal, many have found
gnutella a better limewire client than Limewire
itself. You might find other clients on
    http://www.versiontracker.com/ and
    http://www.macupdate.com/
If you still wish to install Linux on your MacBook,
Parallels offers support for Redhat and other Linux
software distributions for Intel that will work on an
    Intel Mac:
    http://www.parallels.com/en/products/workstation/mac/
There might be other solutions you can find on the
    Unix forum:
    http://discussions.apple.com/forum.jspa?forumID=735
In other words: "you don't know what you want so your question doesn't matter. I'll tell you all you should ever need to know and won't bother to answer you question".
    Ego?
Try this website, it worked for me when I wanted to disinfect my machine of the OSX virus.
    http://modular.math.washington.edu/macbook/
Mac makes great hardware and Linux could do some great things with it.
The only reason I don't run the Mac OS is because of the Mac community. I can't stand to have my hand held, or my intelligence and opinions questioned by some Mac geek who doesn't know jack about anything but Mac.

  • Date and Time

Insert date or time or both in to a file name
I would find it very usfull to be able to automate the prosseses of inserting the date ( in year mouth day order ) and the time in to a file name. This would allow the tracking of email saved as text in a sequential order. ie the file name would read subject date time. Is there a way of doing this with apple script ? I can not find any " get current date" or "get current time" comand. Is it posible to use apple script to open a sutable application and get the date and time from there ? anybody solved this ?

Is it the current date you want?
There are example AppleScripts in /Applications/AppleScript/Example Scripts. Under the subfolder Info Scripts is one that shows how to get date and time. Under the subfolder Finder Scripts are a number of rename scripts, including "Add to File Names".
Probably there are ways to change the format using the AppleScript current date command, but the shell command date is particularly flexible. For example, try this AppleScript:
set the time_stamp to (do shell script "date +%Y%m%d-%H%M%S")
    display dialog time_stamp
Replace the "display dialog" line with code to change the file names. If you can read Unix man pages, see man date and man strftime for details on formating the date command.

  • PB 12" 1.33 GHz (10.4.1) + NEC LT156 LCD Projector

Today I tried to hook up my powerbook to the LCD projector using the mini-DVI to VGA adapter. However, I couldn't anything to show on the projector. It seems to detect the device as the PB screen flashes dark and back on again whenever I attach or detach it from the projector.
I know the PB worked with the projector previously using Panther OS. I was wondering whether anyone has had issues with plugging a projector after upgrading to Tiger.

EXTERNAL MONITOR ADAPTORS: Critique of Apple Document No. 86507: PowerBook G4 (12-inch): Adapters and Resolutions
"... The Apple Mini-DVI to VGA Adapter allows the PowerBook G4 (12-inch DVI), ...."
It is very disorienting in an APPLE Technical article in such for Apple to say: [[we've advertised the PowerBook 12" G4 external monitor hookup in tech specs]], we list all the "compatible 12" powerbook G4 models" for these adaptors and then to say "IT DOESN'T WORK" for all of the 12" external monitor adaptors! None work?! - period? Misprint, did I mis-read? Nothing works? And Apple gives not the slighest hint of what is being done. Many of us purchased the product to run projectors ( - the prolem noted on this thread - ) and external displays- on the basis of advertized spec's.
    A. How could we find out about what Apple appears to know here? What is Apple doing - there must be some alternative cable/software fix posible?
My Apple 12" G4 1.5 Gz Powerbook ( July 13, 05 purchase) DOES in fact run an NEC multisync LCD 17" 1700 v monitor at the powerbook resolution of 1024 X768 - using the mini DVI - VGA adaptor. It mainly also appears to be partially working, full screen, with the higher resolutions (1152 by 864 and 1280 by 960): Apple e-mail works full screen, and the monitor behavior is just as Apple suggests in its "...run from an external monitor" articles.
However, Microsoft Word 2004 (w/latest update including 11.2.1) does not reliably display a document over the full screen: the bottom edge usually will not go below the 1024 by 768 space, the window will lock its dimension, and scroll is garbled. The Word program is unfortunately the program I use most.
    B. Other comments about this external monitor/softward combination?

  • I have music on my phone HOW do i get it to my iTunes

is this at all posible? Is Apple looking at making this posible? And is anyone at apple thinking about making this dream a reallity!?! WHY!!!

By design, transfer of music is one way - from computer to iPhone. The only exception is music purchased on the iPhone, which can be transferred to the computer.
There are 3rd party solutions to reverse the direction. Try Google.
