Possible Convergence patch for Chrome

I've been looking into why Chrome seems to choke on initally loading main.html after login, and I've developed a patch that seems to correct the issue. What's the best method of submitting this patch to the Convergence developers for possible review and inclusion into the product?
Thanks,
Mark

  • Strange username and password in Mozilla saved passwords for chrome://weave (Mozilla Services Encryption Passphrase)

What is chrome://weave (Mozilla Services Encryption Passphrase) ?
I checked my saved password list in Mozilla Firefox and I found two strange usernames for site: chrome://weave (Mozilla Services Encryption Passphrase) and chrome:weave (Mozilla Services Password). Is this username randomly generated or is it possible that some addin/application/malware automatically generates this username and password.
The username for both is "gjqsnhtjmmojlnmtepcdbiccdfrrerid"
Password for chrome:weave (Mozilla Services Password) is a password I use commonly so seems to be provided by me but the password for : chrome://weave (Mozilla Services Encryption Passphrase) is a combination of random letters(just like the username)
My issue is only that it should not be the work of any malicious content lying in my system which has reached my Mozilla Saved Passwords

chrome://weave (Mozilla Services Encryption Passphrase is the sync key that is used to locally encrypt your data before sending it to the Sync server.<br />
That key is automatically generated and changing the sync key will wipe all data stored on the sync server.<br />
It is good practice to have a backup copy of the sync key.<br />
The user name stored in the password manager is also generated, but you can always use the email address to get access to your sync account.

  • TimeZone Patch for 9.2.0.6

    Hello All,
I am upgrading 9.2.0.6 to 11.2.0.1 database. Please can some one tell which is the timezone patch to be applied to 9.2.0.6 database. On 9.2.0.8 is patch 5726045, is this the same on 9.2.0.6.
The second question is can I upgrade from 9.2.0.6 directly to 11.2.0.1 or do I need follow this route :- 9.2.0.7(or lower) ---->9.2.0.8 ---->11.2.x
Oracle says i can upgrade from 9.2.0.6
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/database/oracle11g/upgrade/presentations/9i_to_11g_real_world_customer_experience.pdf
and this URL says I can't
    http://javeedkaleem.blogspot.com/2010/02/complete-checklist-for-manual-upgrades.html
Please can you someone tell me on the Time Zone patch for 9.2.0.6 which i will be upgrading to 11.2.0.1 and confirm on upgrade.
    Regards
    Rashida

    Hi,
The timezone patch is the same for 9.2.06 and 9.2.0.8.
For upgrading have a look at the upgrade guide for 11.2, http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E11882_01/server.112/e10819/preup.htm
It describes the path which is possible and how it can be done. This manual states 9.2.0.8 can be directly upgraded to 11.2, So the way to go is to 9.2.0.8 and then 11.2.

  • Practices for maintaining source code patches for branch of OSS project?

There is this open source project I use and modify for my personal, private use...
I would like some best-practice/practical experience suggestions on methodology/tools to maintain a growing number of source code patches I have created for said software. (FYI It is generally not mandatory that I upgrade to new version of the software when it comes out. Sometimes I will use the version I have for several versions before getting the new one, and re-implementing my changes. And sometimes I don't even implement the changes; I just run it vanilla.)
Currently, I download the latest code from SVN, make my changes to the original code files, and keep track of my changes in a text file, which I then dutifully reference to re-create them when I feel like re-synching with the official version. What I would like to have instead is a separate base of code that contains just my modifications, and somehow include/import it as painlessly as possible whenever I get a new version of the official code from SVN.
What's the best way to go about it? That's why I'm here.
I realize these situations rarely, if ever, work out perfectly, and I can deal with that. I just want to improve on how things are, now, in anticipation of where I can see them going!
I have some ideas about how to implement this, but they are of the "naive" variety and I think any tips I could get on method or tools to use would go far. I mean ... is it as simple as declaring new versions of affected methods in my patch code and marking them "overrides"? Also, probably a dumb question but will SVN that will help me do this?
Thanks for reading, and any response.
PS - Sorry if this is the wrong forum, but I am just looking for general, tip-of-the-iceberg type tips/links, so I figured folks could drop a quick answer here. TY!

The patch program on *nix or Cygwin does exactly what you want, and you can create the patchfile using either Subversion or CVS (and any other source control system that provides a diff).
Here's the article that I always turn to to create a CVS Patch (I have to relearn patching every time I do it): https://developer.mozilla.org/en/Creating_a_patch
And here's the equivalent from the Subversion FAQ: http://subversion.tigris.org/faq.html#patch
When I've worked for companies that did local patches, we kept a separate source-control repository/module that held our patches for the various OS libraries that we used. When we'd upgrade, we'd apply the patches and verify they made sense (if you have a lot of patchfiles, this can be a royal pain). And most important, once we had a patched upgrade, we generated a new patchfile from it (because, again, patchfiles become obsolete, and trying to apply a patch from several versions back can sometimes be impossible).
And of course we submitted any bugfixes back to the projects...

  • How can you find patches for a specific product?

Unless you have a patch number, it is a pain to try and find the latest patch for a particular product. In fact, it is a pain to find a product unless you have the name:))
    1. If you do not have the product name, but know the function/purpose, what is the best way to find the Sun product? For example, I want to start using SNMP. That is all the info I have. Is it possible to find the package name and required patches using the Sun site?
The patchfinder is great if you have a starting number:))
    Thanks,
    Zeek

The bi weekly patch reports are generally a good start.
Do some keyword searches in those pages.

  • 32 or 64 bit Sparc patches for studio 12.3

I'm confused by the option for 32 or 64 bit patches, I installed Studio12.3 on an M4000 running Solaris 10U8. Why are 32 bit patches for sparc listed? I want the 64 bit patches correct?

If you are referring to the drop-down list where you select the platform for searching patches, I think listing 32-bit SPARC Solaris is an artifact of allowing patches for old OS versions. There has not been a 32-bit version of Solaris for SPARC for years.
The list of Studio 12.3 patches is the same whether you select 32-bit or 64-bit Solaris, and in any case each patch covers both 32-bit and 64-bit Studio components. To avoid possible confusion, select 64-bit Solaris as the platform.

  • Daylight Savings Time patch for Java

This DST patch for java has me totally confused. I downloaded and installed tzupdater2006p, which according to the README it was suppose to cover 1.3.1_18 through 1.4 . All went well until I found one the servers, a Solaris 8 one, running 1.3.1_01. I've been searching for a patch for that but can't seem to find one. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

No that looks like the earliest it goes to according to the what it lists. I just did this the other day in support of some vendors application software that we use. If you have a paying account with Sun, perhaps you can open a contact with them.
But here's a caveat ... after I had applied that patch to my Java, the vendor told me that they won't support it - that is, they did not test using it, and so recommended upgrading to 1.4.2_12. You might want to explore that possibility on your side too.

  • Patch for PeopleSoft

    Hi,
I learnt there is a patch for PeopleSoft database that reduces free spaces when building indexes in the database.
Can someone please give me the link or possibly the Patch ID.
    Thanks and regards.
    Texas!

I'm not sure to understand what you want to do, and how you are expecting indexes space saving.
As I said earlier, after installing the patch 8.49.06 (or 07, that was several months ago, not sure exactly which one it was) and create an Oracle database, it was very less space than same install (and db creation) with PT8.49.00 (no patch).
But since you are able to install Peopletools patch, that means you have a metalink3 access, then the easiest way would be to create a SR.
Anyway, the patch itself won't solve the space issue without recreating database or indexes.
    Nicolas.

  • Patch for Maverick 10.9.5

Any information on when the "patch" for mac books running Safari will be out? Meantime, any suggestions for safety?

Yes. You can retain Mav and conduct the updates that pertain to that OS , but you will find that you will often see a few in there which will say "incompatible updates" meaning they are designed for Yosemite.
I also don't wish to upgrade to Yosemite and continue doing whatever updates I can for 10.9.5 - but just be very careful you do not hit the button for UPDATE ALL or you may be installing Yosemite on your device before you know it!
We upgraded my wife's MBP to Yosemite and it's been a total mess ever since so this is why I am holding off as long as humanly possible to Mavs 10.9.5. I didn't like anything about the new OS when using hers and don't know why they wish to make such drastic changes to something which was working just fine! Would love to know how many folks made the move, disliked it enough to switch back, and had no trouble at all doing so? Ugh.
Best of luck, guess we'll just hold out until NEXT OSX right? Lol.

  • What is latest bundle patch for OIM 9102?

    Hey All,
I have an OIM 9102 installed on WLS 10.3.2, SQL Server 2005 and Windows server 2003 R2 OS.
Wanted to apply the latest bundle patch for OIM9102? What is the latest BP for 9102? BP14?
Can anyone let me know the latest BP name/number and path to down in metalink if possible.
    Thanks in advance!
    klogube

Does anyone have BP14 installed and diagnostic dashboard working? I put BP14 on our 9.1.0.2 sandbox, and diagnostic dashboard broke. We are on WebSphere 6. Problem is when you log in, you get an authentication error.

  • Does Apple have a patch for my ipad for security?

I read in the New York Times about a patch for my Ipad for security when using it at the coffee shop. Is there such a thing? How do I access it?

YOu need to update your iPad's operating system.
iPad 2, 3, 4 and air should be updated to iOS 7.0.6
I don't think there is a patch for the first generation iPad. It's possible that it's not affected, but I'm not sure on that one.

  • Jdeveloper patches for jsp?

    Hi
Is there a patch for jdeveloper 3.0 that makes the debugging of JSPs possible? Right now the line numbers that are shown are way off.
Where can I find the patches on this site?
ORACLE - Isn't it possible that such a big e-business company could design the site so you don't need to ask where the patch pages are located ?
    Regards
    /Joachim

JDeveloper 3.0 supports JSP (Java Server Pages ) Debugging. No need of any additional patches.
Right now the line numbers that are shown are way off.
(What exactly is the meaning of this , I am not clear, please explain).
In JDeveloper 3.1 it is possible to do the remote debugging of JSP's and Servlets running on another web servers.
    One restriction is that
When debugging JSP's (either locally or remotely), any debugging feature which uses expression evaluation will not be available. This includes conditional breakpoints,
expression logging for breakpoint occurrence, and the Run->Evaluate/Modify dialog.
The above is mentined in the Release Notes for Oracle JDeveloper 3.1.

The bad signature error that started on 12/15/2004 has been corrected with a patch to ACS 3.0 and 3.0.1. It was emailed to customers of record.
In some cases the email address will be for an employee no longer with your company and will bounce. If you have not received the patch, send an email with your company name and domain name to [email protected]
If you are still running ACS 2.x, contact me and I will arrange for a free upgrade to ACS 3.0.1. A patch for ACS 2.x wasn't possible.

  • What are you doing with software (games) designed to run on Snow Leopard.  Have you heard of anyone making a patch for LION?

What are you doing with software (games) designed to run on Snow Leopard when the Os is Lion?

It is up to the publishers of games to accommodate their software to Lion.
Blizzard, publisher of StarCraft, WarCraft, and Diablo, has posted a statement about that -
    Blizzard Support
Although they were able to create patches to allow the use of their (OS 9) games in OS X up through Snow Leopard, apparently from their perspective it is not possible to patch those games for Lion.
