Possible to access an .html file stored on media card?

I have downloaded web pages I built from my computer to the media card in my Blackberry 8310. After opening MEDIA on the home screen, I can click the menu > explore > navigate to the .html file and it will display.  Javascript does not function, however, even if it is turned on and is functional with web sites through my browser.  I presume I am having this problem because I am not viewing the file using a browser with this method.  This lead me to the thought of accessing the file through my browser.  When I start my browser then use the menu key > Go to, I cannot find the proper format command to access a file on the media card.  I am attempting a similar request as using a browser on a puter then typing c:\directory\file.  I have used the file//C:\ format along with other formats to no avail.  I am not sure if the device has a name.  I have tried Device:\ but that doesn't work.  I tried \Media Card and that doesn't work either.  I moved the files into devce memory hoping I could access it.  I would appreciate any help with either method I have tried.  Thanks, Ted

I doubt it is possible. Pages is fairly limited when it comes to html.
I would try finding another application or send the files as pdf. PDF may not be a good idea in marketing material, as the receiver may not even open the file, but if you present it in a nice way, it may work.

  • Need help displaying HTML files stored in content repository

    I have a very simple HTML file stored in a binary attribute (so the file could
    be uploaded through the Admin Portal) named "html" in the BEA Repository (8.1sp2)
    and would like to display it in a JSP. Here's a snippet from that JSP:
    <cm:getNode path="<%=myNodePath%>" id="myNode"/>
    <cm:getProperty node="<%=myNode%>" name="html" conversionType="html"/>
    I expected the getProperty tag to fetch the HTML file and render it inline, but
    I guess that's wishful thinking. Am I missing something?
    Thanks for any help!

    I added transactionTimeout="30" to the tag shown below. That did the trick, as
    long as I avoided certain combinations of tag attributes. Guess this one's a little
    moody.
    Thanks, Greg.

  • Opening an HTML file stored locally

    Hello fellows,
    Is it possible to open a locally stored HTML file using  Acro javascript?
    If, yes, how to make Acrobat/Reader open the HTML file only once, when the rights-enabled PDF is opened for the 1st time?
    Thank you for your responses in advance!

    Reader cannot open HTML files even manually. You can use JavaScript in Acrobat to convert an HTML file to PDF, but only from a privileged context: http://livedocs.adobe.com/acrobat_sdk/11/Acrobat11_HTMLHelp/JS_API_AcroJS.89.164.html

    Hi All,
    My requirement is to pick an HTML file and search for a word " Failure" If its present then i need to update a particular value if not then other value.
    Regards,
    Jude

    >>My requirement is to pick an HTML file
    can be done, if html is welformed xml.
    >>and search for a word " Failure"
    if you know which tag could contain the word "failure" then i think it is possible to search in graphical mapping.
    >>If its present then i need to update a particular value if not then other value.
    you said "particular value". Is it in the target message type, if yes, then you can decide.
    I am not sure, whether your requirement and the purpose of using PI for this go together.

  • Bridge Files app and media card encryption..

    Just wanted to note clearly, in hopes that someone from RIM will see, that opening files over the Bridge Files app is almost useless if your BES admins force media card encryption on, like mine do. All files saved on the MicroSD card are encrypted and have a .rem extension appended to the filename. When this happens, the Bridge Files app is too dumb to see the file and decrypt it.
    It is clear to me that this could be fixed in a software update and I hope it will be. It dramatically limits the usefulness of the bridge. I can't open any file saved with the bridge browser, or anything that comes as an email attachment. Most annoying..
    Can anyone comment on whether RIM has made a statement anywhere on whether this will be fixed or not?
    Thanks!!

  • How to Transfer Audio Files to microSD Media Card???

    I purchased music online and dowlnloaded them, then created a playlist within Roxio Media Manager. I first tried transferring them to my phone (device), but there wasn't enough disc space. So I bought a microsd media card and have been trying to save the music to the card with no luck.
    When I view my devices it show the phone with the folders: Music, Pictures, Ringtones, and Videos and then it show a seperate "drive" that says media card. However i have tried copying the music to that drive, but am told it can't transfer files as it's a read only drive!
    I've looked all through the help pages and basically did what it told me to do, but it's just not working. Should the media card being showing in the list itself?????
    I'm going crazy!!!
    Don't know if it matters, but I'm running firefox and windows 2000.
    Solved!

    Hello,
    please try to connect the device with the usb cable to the PC.
    then go to "My Computer" and select the drive for the memory card. then you see the folders that are currently on the microsd-card.
    then select the audio folder and copy the songs in there.
    then disconnect the device from your pc and to go media -> audio. there you will find the files.

  • Is it possible to access a html based web service from a pdf form?

    I was wondering if it is possible to send a query from livecycle to web service and parse the return data.
    An quick example of what I am thinking is querying a database like wolfram alpha using their html query.
    It is in the format http://api.wolframalpha.com/v2/query?input=pi&appid=XXXX. where "pi" is the query and XXXX is the specific user id
    The website then returns a xml file.
    Is there anyway to send out that html with any query from a text field and process the response?
    Thanks!

    Hi,
    Naseko is right in using the formcalc get function, and I use this for accessing information from google calendar, you can also call the formcalc get function from JavaScript as described here http://blogs.adobe.com/formfeed/2009/02/calling_formcalc_functions_fro.html.
    The main problem I have is with the yellow message bar message and popup saying do you want to allow access to api.wolframalpha.com (or whatever).  I think you can get around this by certifing the form, but I don't have access to the servre products to do that.
    Anyway, if it helps have a look at https://workspaces.acrobat.com/?d=vFcW-9OVSm*BdV6GyFfUIg you will need to modify the button click code to specify your own appid but the code is simple enough;
    var response = FormCalc.Function.Get("http://api.wolframalpha.com/v2/query?appid=<<appid>>&input=capital%20of%20australia");
    response = response.replace(/^<\?xml\s+version\s*=\s*(["'])[^\1]+\1[^?]*\?>/, "");
    var responseNode = xfa.datasets.createNode("dataGroup", "response");
    responseNode.loadXML(response, false, false);
    var answer = responseNode.resolveNode("queryresult.pod.(title.value=='Result')").subpod.plaintext.value;
    console.println(answer);
    So this code sends a query "capital of australia" and gets a response "Canberra, Australian Capital Territory, Australia"
    Replace <<appid>> with your appid and look at the linked sample to see how FormCalc.Function.Get works.
    Also, expect Designer to crash a few times while getting it to work.
    Hope this helps,
    Bruce

  • How to link an  APEX button to a HTML file stored on the app server ??

    Hopefully this will be simple for someone
    We have some very technical word documents that I really didn't want to replicate in oracle reports
    So i have saved them as html docs , and when i open then in IE they look fine
    I have placed them in the folder where our reports are stored , but I cannot figure out how to create the URL to place behind a button in APEX ??
    Obviously the oracle reports url won't work as the uses pdf's and the servlet
    Thanks in advance
    Chris

    Assuming you are using Apache?
    You could place your Word docs in the same folder as your current Apex images directory (or a sub-directory off it) then reference them with a URL of the form http://yourserver/i/sample_word_file.doc. Alternatively you could add a new Alias entry to your dads.conf file (found in your Apache/modplsql/conf directory) to expose the folder on your webserver that contains your Word files via a URL such as http://yourserver/word_docs/
    E.g.
    Alias /word_docs/ "c:\my_docs\technical_word_docs/"

  • How to access a xml file stored in a jar file

    Hi all,
    We have a java web start app that uses the jasper reports libraries to produce pdf reports. When running and testing from the ide the prog works ok. However when we place the jar on the web server and run the web start app the prog complains "the system cannot find the file specified".
    The xml files are stored in the jar under a directory called reports. The code access the files like so. (We are temporarily writing the output file to c drive.)
    JasperCompileManager.compileReportToFile("reports\\airexportagy.xml","c:\\airexportagy.jasper");
    IS there a different way one is supposed to access these resources from a jar file using web start?
    THanks

    Always (well, almost always anyway) access resource files thru the classloader. Example:
    InputStream xmlStream = getClass().getResourceAsStream("/myresource.xml");
    This will find "myresource.xml" in the classpath. If you omit the "/" part, it will still attempt to find that file in the classpath, but expect to find it within the same directory hierarchy as the calling class (its package hierarchy).

  • Why can't I access the PDF files stored in my iBooks without connecting it to internet ?

    Hi,
    I have nearly 2000 PDF file documents which I have synchronized to iBooks from my DELL laptop.
    All the PDF files are individually named as to make it easy for myself to search.
    I took it outside in my show where i tried to access it, what I am seeing here is there are no documents appearing on my iBooks. I then connected it to my Mobile phone Internet where I could now see all the 2000 PDF files.
    My question here is , if all these files are on the hard drive of my iPad, why do I have to always connect it to the internet to access. This is very difficult as some places where I travel are having very low network coverage. Please help me to sort this issue. Many thanks, Amit

  • Url to html file stored in files.online fails

    I have a page that has a region of type URL with region source set to http://files.oraclecorp.com/content/AllPublic/SharedFolders/ST_Project_V3_Help-Public/V3_Focus_Area_Create_Short_Help.html
    When we run this page we get error message HTTP 404 - File not found
    I just copied the files.online location into the region source to make sure it is correct. Still fails. This used to work, but it stopped working on existing pages.

    Neal,
    I get an entirely different message:  Not Found
      The requested URL  /app/HomePage$fwdurl=http:$|$|files.oraclecorp.com$|content$|AllPublic$|
    SharedFolders$|ST_Project_V3_Help-Public$|V3_Focus_Area_Create_Short_Help.html was not found on this server.Assuming that you transcribed the message incorrectly, my hunch is that the page is no longer publicly accessible (I think there was an announcement about that last week.). Pages that depend on cookies or that redirect won't work in URL regions.
    As a general technique, you can run this in SQL*Plus to see what your URL region will see: select utl_http.request('<url>',[proxy]) from dual;
