Downloads window list is reverse order
Safari has a reverse order for the downloads window list. Any way to get it normal (last thing downloaded should be at the top).
No, it has never been correct on any of my three Macs. It is correct in Firefox (Mac and Window), Opera, iCab, and Internet Explorer 7 and 8. I haven't tried Chrome yet, but I'd be willing to bet it shows latest top like all the others. Don't tell me Safari is "thinking different". If it has a reverse order to display downloads, it should at least have a way to change it to normal (normal like my email list-- latest at the top).
I don't use Safari much, but I might use it more if it made sense. Maybe there is a plugin that can reverse this thing. Safari doesn't have a config window like Firefox does it? -

Printing Linked List in reverse
Hi
Im trying to print a linked list in reverse order.. ive tried to put the objects into an array stack and then start printing form the top of the stack.
any ideas?You don't want to be making it more complicated with Queues or Stacks.
you can get a ListIterator from LinkedList
This Iterator not only has the next() method of normal Iterators, it also has a previous() method.
good enough hint? -
Can a Collection be traversed in reverse order?
Hi..
I am using a List of Objects to display..
When I click a Link, it has to be displayed in the reverse order..
Is there any way to do this..
Please help me..
Thanks in advance..here is the code by which you can traverse a List in
reverse order without modifying contents of the list
import java.util.*;
public class ReverseList {
public static void main(String[] args) {
List first = new ArrayList();
first.add("Java");
first.add("Is");
first.add("Easy");
ListIterator iterator = first.listIterator();
//now traverse a list in forward direction so that
you can reach at the end of the list
while(iterator.hasNext()) {
iterator.next();
//now traverse a list in reverse direction
while(iterator.hasPrevious()) {
System.out.println(iterator.previous());
For a random access list, such as ArrayList, the above is very inefficient. Instead try:
List<String> l = new ArrayList<String>();
l.add( "Java" );
l.add( "Is" );
l.add( "Easy" );
// Jump straight to the end
ListIterator<String> iterator = l.listIterator( list.size() );
// Start iterating
while( iterator.hasPrevious() ) {
System.out.println( iterator.previous() );

I want to sort a list of files in reverse order e.g. oldest to newest instead of newest to oldest I seems the ony options are date, name etc.
Right click (Control click) on the column headings and make sure you have the right 'Date' term select that you want to sort.
Then click on the column heading ('Date Modified' in the case below) to change from oldest to newest and newest to oldest. The triangle will flip upside down as you do so. -
I need to purchase an Iphoto book. I have updated my new address as the USA, but when I order the book it still lists the price in Pounds and has my old UK address listed. How do I change it to USA Dollars and my USA address? Anyone know
You are on the UK Store. Scroll to bottom right, click on the USA flag to switch to the American store. Though you'll have to set up an account there too.

How to organize Christmas card address list in pages.
How to organize Christmas card address list in pages? How to print address labels from this list?
Your best bet is to put your Christmas Card list into an external spreadsheet, and then save that as a comma separated values (CSV) document.
Create a new group in the Contacts application, and name it (e.g. Christmas List). Select that group so that it is current.
From File > Import, select the CSV document that you saved earlier. The import process will bring that data into the current (Christmas List) contact group as addresses.
In File > Print, for the Style category, select Mailing Labels. In the layout tab, Set the Page to Avery Standard, and the Avery label number (e.g. 5161) sheet that you want to print too. The label tab allows you to modify the label style, and order your labels in postal or alphabetical order.
In the Contacts Help Menu, type: print contact in the search window. Pick the first returned Help item, Print Contact Item Information, may help further. -
Reverse order in File- Open dialogue
The file/folder list in the File->Open dialogue window is "stuck" at showing in reverse order. I can right-click in the Open dialogue window and sort ascending, but the next time I open a file it is back to reverse order.
I have experimented with Explorer's view settings but Reader appears to ignore those. Other applications, for example Word, use Explorer's view settings and behave as I would expect.
I suspect that someone has inadvertently changed something on this PC. Perhaps there's a keystroke combination that changes the file display order persistently?
Any ideas, please?
Adobe Reader version 8.1.2
XP Pro SP2I'm still struggling with this - does anyone know how to change the file sort order in the File->Open dialogue?
It must be possible to change it because it has somehow been changed to reverse order! -
Songs are in reverse order on iPad, but correct on iTunes
I have a number of Smart Playlists that look fine when displayed on iTunes, but when iTunes copies them to my iPad Air, the list of albums shows up in the correct order but the songs in each album are sorted in reverse order.
So for example, I have a Smart Playlist defined where "Artist is Jean Michel Jarre". That playlist is sorted by Year in list view and by Year-then-Title in Grid view.
When I look at that same Playlist on my iPad Air, all of his albums appear in chronological order (which I expect), but the songs on each album are listed last-to-first. So Oxygene (his first album) shows up before Equinoxe (his second album), but the list of songs on the Oxygene album are shown as: Part VI, Part V, Part IV, Part III, Part II, Part I. All of the albums on the list are in the right order, but the list of songs on each album appears backwards in each one.
This is just one example of a bug that manifests itself a lot on my iPad. I have a lot of Smart Playlists that misbehave just like this. I deal with it by creating not-smart playlists that are exact copies of the Smart Playlists -- but honestly, why offer Smart Playlists if they're not going to display correctly? If they're this buggy, why am I using them at all?
Does anybody know of a workaround for this bug? Does anybody know whether Apple is aware of it, and if they have any plans to fix it? Please? Maybe? Someday?I am now home from work, and over the past hour I have tried every combination of up-arrows, down-arrows, Copy To Play Order, sorting on the leftmost column, sorting on the Year column, etc. etc. that I could think of. I believe I have followed your recommendations slavishly and to the letter.
My Jean Michel Jarre Smart Playlist is sorted with the triangle on the leftmost column, and in iTunes, the playlist order is correct. I have sync'd my iTunes library to the iPad several times, I have unchecked that playlist, performed the sync again to remove it from the iPad entirely, checked it again and performed the sync again -- I have also tried closing the Music app on the iPad and restarting it -- I've also tried deliberately sorting the tracks in iTunes in reverse order to see if the iPad does anything any differently, including a "Copy to Play Order" for good luck -- and every combination of all of these choices results in exactly the same outcome: on the iPad, albums show up in chronological order, and tracks in each album show up in reverse order. Nothing I do makes any difference at all.
Here's hoping iOS 8 at least doesn't make things any worse. Maybe if the gods are smiling, it might actually solve this problem. I was hoping that the upgrade to iTunes 11.4 might have made a difference, but, sadly, no such luck ... which is why my hopes for salvation in iOS 8 are not high ... but that doesn't stop me from being grateful to you for trying to help. Thank you for your time. I do appreciate it. -
Duplicates in Outlook connector global address list (GAL)
I am getting duplicates in GAL of Outlook 2007, some addresses appear seven times or more. I have followed the guide for VLV Browsing, it makes no difference to the problem. There are less duplicates if I use search base: ou=People,o=Organization1,dc=example,dc=com. Actually I want to use search base: dc=example,dc=com, thus showing all the organizations (truely global address book). In order for this to work I have use the ACI access control to filter the entries that I want in the GAL (ACI I'm using is below). I seems that when I filter out entries with "psincludeingab=false" It correctly doesn't display that contact but a duplicate entry of another contact occurs in it's place. It's as if it's getting empty entries due to ACI filtering and filling the blank entries in with the last successfully retrieved entries. Thunderbird GAL (ldap address book) is much better, I can filter it server -side (ACI) or client side (search filter in the advanced tab). I have been battling with this issue for a while now, I can't understand why nobody else appears to have this problem.
ACI for valid users/groups/resources:
ACI syntax:
(target = ldap:///o=*,dc=example,dc=com) (targetscope = subtree) (targetfilter = (& (!(psincludeingab=false)) (|(objectclass=inetorgperson)(objectclass=inetResource)(objectclass=icscalendargroup))))(targetattr != "userPassword") (version 3.0; acl "Access Corporate Directory"; allow (read, compare, search) (userdn = "ldap:///uid=*,ou=People,o=*,dc=example,dc=com");)
ACI location:

1) I can't easily share address books accross orgs/domains.Sharing personal address-books across hosted domains is definitely a useful feature. I could however not find an existing RFE (request for enhancement) to have this feature added to Convergence or UWC/CE so it seems the demand for such a feature is low.
2) I can't subsribe or even access subcribed address books in Convergence.Bug #6690621 - "Enable advanced personal address book functionality (creation/deletion/sharing)". Hopefully this feature is added in Convergence Update 1.
3) I can't access any address book (other than GAL) in Thunderbird.Thunderbirds in-built LDAP functionality is basic i.e. no LDAP write support which makes integrating LDAP PAB address-book functionality costly to develop. As no paying customers seem to care enough about Thunderbird PAB support to raise this as an issue I don't believe there are any intentions to address this in the short-term.
The longer-term vision is to provide a CardDAV server for which there are existing Thunderbird extensions:
http://wikis.sun.com/display/CommSuite/Project+Aries
4) I can't create a user that exists in more than one org/domain whilst having only one mailbox yet able to send from all their domain aliases. The problem with this workaround is neither Comms Express nor Convergence allow change of From address and thus consolidated sent items is not possible.Actually it is possible to customize Comms Express to allow a user to select from a From: drop-down listing of their mailequivalentaddress: attributes. I have provided these steps to customers who have logged support cases in the past.
There is a longer-term plan to have 'multiple send identities' in Convergence along the same lines as Thunderbird.
RFE #6673157 - "Multiple send identies".
On the whole I'm very happy with Comms Suite, I like the fact that it all works over Internet, not just LAN (thick client, thin client and administration interfaces).The various components of Comm Suite were developed with a large ISP style deployments in mind so working across the Internet is a given.
What could definetely be improved is more features for multi-org/domain companies/enterprises that are both seperate and yet together on different levels and services. In the ISP world hosted domains remain very-much separate. As you have noted this model doesn't apply for smaller deployments (Universities/SME) so there is definitely work that can be done on this level.
Also needs more GUI configuration and managemant services (e.g. mailbox management/statistics, more DA options).The underpinnings of GUI configuration (or at least simplified configuration/administration) is already occurring with a shift towards XML storage of configuration data in Messaging Server (and I believe IM server). This step makes it much easier to build tools (whether they be cli/gui based) which can parse/modify the existing configuration.
But as I'm sure I've mentioned in the past, the only way to get traction on the features you desire is to bring these issues up with your Sun Account Rep.

Shane. -
Address list error -- 5.7.1 Relaying not allowed
Hi,
We have setup the Java Messaging Server to send/recieve mails from a gateway. The inbound mail flow works perfectly but, the outbound mail flow has issues.
The outbound mails are not hitting the gateway. When checked the log for outbound mail, it displays the address list error - 5.7.1 Relaying not allowed for any domain i.e gmail.com, etc

=========================================================================Do we have to make any changes on other config files except the imta.cnf and mappings file for inbound and outbound..
thanks for any help
Edited by: prasad0_0 on Jul 8, 2008 4:58 AMi have already setup the messaging server 6 months back.. followed the same procedure to route mails to a gateway..
made changes to the imta.cnf for outbound mail flow to the tcp_local and mappings file to accept inbound mail flow from the gateway. Its working perfectly on the older setup, but this now, have issues with new setup.
here is the imta.cnf file..

When dowloading updates from my iTunes library onto my iPhone
my playlists appear in reverse order with the least played at the top of the list
and most played at the end on the playlist.
Therefore I cant play my favourites in the order that I like to hear them.
This all changed when I recently downloaded the iCloud application.Hi Jim,
Is this temporary cache accessing my data when I play songs from it? As I mentioned in my previous post, I'm still able to listen to these songs even when my phone is in airplane mode and the download icon is still present next to said songs. This implies that the songs are already downloaded onto my phone even if I didn't opt to download them directly from the cloud -- they're on my phone because my phone was shuffling my library on a wifi network.

Thumbnails in reverse order in Icon view
When I look at a folder full of picture thumbnails in Finder, in Icon view, and select Keep Arranged by Date Modified, or Date Created, they appear in the reverse order, with the most recent at the top. In the other views (list, cover flow etc.) they appear in the order I want them, with the most recent at the bottom. How can I correct this?
RichardSetting 'Arrange by date order' toggles between oldest and newest first in List and Cover flow view on mine.
Icon view and column view don't change from newest first.
Arrange by name toggles on list and cover flow view too..

How to change the order of filter in reverse order?
This is my demo list, and I want to apply filter to it. However, notice that the order of the filter is alphabetic, but I want it in reverse. How can I make the order of the filter in reverse order?

I have no idea how to describe this problem.there is no out-of-the-box method to change the sort order of the FILTER VALUES
