Powerpoint 2007 Animations

I want to set up slides with several bullet points. I want each bullet to appear on click and then remain on the slide, but at 5% transparancy when I click on the next one - how do I do it?

Hi,
Today I have found the 7.0.5 Update, build 7588, for Presenter 7, so I started to think that my long issue concerning the animations problem could be over with this update ... but it did not!  :-(
After the update installation, the same presentation gives me the same wrong behavior.
It seams that the animations triggered by activators used on PowerPoint 2007 presentations continue without any support.
Is that right ?

  • Import powerpoint 2007 animation to Captivate 3

    I've created a single-slide presentation in powerpoint 2007
that has an animated smart art that flys on to the screen. I saved
my powerpoint 2007 file as a ppt not pptx. I imported the file to
Captivate 3 as animation. but when I preview the project, the
animation just shows up as a non-animated object. It doesn't have
any of the animated qualities of the original powerpoint.
See this link to see what I'm talking about:
    http://screencast.com/t/zgTOYx35Bd

I would agree that recording the animation as it plays in PPT
could help. That is how I have done several of my animations rather
    than import them.
What I have found in the process is make sure you set the
Captivate screen to only cover the area of powerpoint where the
animation takes place. That is, you can have powerpoint in a slide
view and click the play test button to record but only record the
    slide area.
Another thing you may want to do is be sure the animation in
powerpoint has a delay to begin with. This gives you time to first
click record (I am using full motion recording here) and let the
captivate red box go a way and then click the Play button in
    powerpoint.
This sounds kind of crazy as I type it here but it works.
Trying to record a complete powerpoint slide show was more
problimatic to me than doing it the way I describe. For one thing,
the resulting animation is very large. I prefer the smaller slide
    size animation/recording.
I hope this help. Still not sure what else to to tell

  • Animations doesn't work when publishing from PPTX (Powerpoint 2007)

I have Presenter 7.0.2 (build 7464), running over PowerPoint
2007, and all the animations based on activators are not
    controllable after publishded.
What I need is the same behave of published flash contents
    as the powerpoint presentation permits:
    - For example, one action button, uppon click on it,
activates some animations effects on others object elements.
Does the Adobe support (Platinum plans), or any of you that
hoppefully had already fix an way to avoid this, can help on this ?
    Thanks in advance!

  • Embedding SWF into Powerpoint 2007....

I use this method to place a SWF in Powerpoint 2007. (see below).
My question is... how do I make the path relative and not absolute? So whatever path/destination I put in the "Movie" property is absolute and if and when I sent this PPTX file to someone (like in a folder) the SWF no longer plays. I wanted to make a path that is relative... so instead of putting "C:\Use\Profile\Desktop\Flash.swf" I wanted to know if I could do something like "Flash.swf" and then it'll play the SWF since it'd be in the root (or maybe a subfolder).
    Place SWF in Powerpoint 2007:
    1.  Click Office Button.
    2.  Click “Powerpoint Options”
    3.  Under the “Popluar” tab check “Show Developer tab in the Ribbon”. Click OK
    4.  Click the “Developer” tab.
    5.  Click the “More Controls” button (wrench/hammer icon)
    6.  Choose “Shockwave Flash Object”. Click OK.
    7.  Cursor turns to crosshairs. Drag box to house the object.
    8.  In the “Properties” pop-up, find “Movie”.
    9.  Under “Movie”. Paste in the path of the file. (i.e. C:\Users\Profile\Desktop\flashAnimation.swf
    a.  Try to put the SWF in the same root location as the PPTX.

You can insert a .swf file into PowerPoint using the method you described with both an absolute and a relative path. But that will just insert it and play it as a linked file.
What you seem to want to do is to embed the file. That's tricker. The .pptx file extension apparently has a known and unfixed bug that won't let you embed a .swf. There's nothing out there, that I could find that may be of help. But you could try these two steps:
In the properties panel for the insered swf, find the EmbedMovie property and set it to "True".
Then Save As... your Presentation to the older file format (.ppt not .pptx). This may show up in the Save menu as "PowerPoint 97-2003 Presentation".
This may work, you should take note that the file size should increase significantly. If the Presentation's file size doesn't increase, then you know it hasn't been embedded and the animation will not play if you email the file (because it's not included).

  • Presenter and PowerPoint 2007

My animations pieces do not seem to work unless I ungroup
them with PowerPoint 2007. However if I use the same files and use
create the Presenter file with PowerPoint 2003 the grouped files
work. Does this mean that I must ungroup all my files if I want to
create Presenter files? This is a big bummer since some of my
complex illustrations need to be grouped. Is anyone else having
problems with PowerPoint 2007 and Presenter? Before my whole team
    upgrades I would like feedback.

    Hi There,
Yes you need to uninstall Adobe Presenter first before upgrading your Office as Presenter is an addin to the PowerPoint. As such there is no issues using Presenter 10 in Office 2010.

  • Can't view Powerpoint 2007 thumbnails in Bridge CS5 (Win 7)

I can view 2003 (win) files (saved from Powerpoint 2007) as thumnails in Bridge, but thumbs for 2007 files (*.pptx) are not generated.
    Any ideas?
    Windows 7
    Bridge CS5.5 (4.1.0.54)

I have seen screenshots with PPTX thumbnails visible. I believe these Bridge thumbnails appear on WinXP installs so I'm thinking there is a Win7 aspect to this...
Using a Mac with CS6 I tried a pps, ppt and a pptx file and all of them only show as Powerpoint icon and none have a thumbnail with preview of the content.
Also tried it with Apple Keynote, the Mac PP equivalent and here I checked the option to include a preview of the file but same result, just an icon of Keynote application.
Looking at the file type associations their is neither support for Powerpoint not Keynote so it does not seem possible.
The screenshot from your memory is probably manipulated or you suffer from good memory like we all seem to do every now and then...

  • Acrobat 7 Std compatible with PowerPoint 2007

I have Acrobat 7 Standard Edition; have used it for years with Office 2003.  Recently I updated my PowerPoint 2003 to 2007, and now when I go to convert my 07 PowerPoint to a PDF I get the following message "Missing PDF Maker files" "Do you want to run the installer in repair mode?"  I run it in repair mode and it just does the same thing over again.  However when I convert any of the other Office 2003 doc to a PDF it's fine, so I am thinking it's a compatibility issue with version Acrobat 7 and PowerPoint 2007, can anyone confirm?

You will have to print to the Aodbe PDF printer. That is your only option, unless you either want to backup to an earlier version of OFFICE or upgrade Acrobat. The first version to work with OFFICE 2007 was AA8.1.2 (maybe 1). Bill

  • Why can I not see PowerPoint 2007 comments in KeyNote 09?

I created a KeyNote presentation for my class in KeyNote and saved it to a PowerPoint 2003 format (teacher request). I sent it off to the teacher, who used PowerPoint 2007 to add comments using the comments feature on the review tab, who then sent it back to me.
I opened the presentation in KeyNote and there are no notes shown. I made sure the SHOW COMMENTS option was selected in the file menu but they are nowhere to be seen.
I will note that there were no errors in the compatibility box when I opened it in KeyNote. I do have a copy of PowerPoint 2007 in BootCamp and the comments do show. But I'd rather, for obvious reason, use KeyNote.
    Can someone help?

  • PDF and PowerPoint 2007, strange slides and handouts

I'm getting strange output when I create a presentation in PowerPoint and print to Acrobat. The problems happen whether I print Slides or Handouts.
-- On some slides, the slide title is partially or completely missing.
-- In grayscale mode, some graphics show up in color.
    -- Solid-color shapes (boxes) show up cross-hatched.
-- For handouts only, some slides have headers and footers, and others do not.
I'm using PowerPoint 2007, up to date, and Acrobat Professional 9.1.3.
I've used PowerPoint and Acrobat for many years and only recently began to have these problems. I've tried changing some of the endless printing options in Acrobat, but nothing I've found so far has made a difference.
Those problems (with the possible exception of the color graphics in grayscale mode, I don't remember) do not happen when I print to Microsoft's XPS format.
    Any ideas?
    Thank you!

Thank you! That's helping a lot. I don't see how to get grayscale in that route, but at least I'm getting proper color handouts, no errors. Plus it outputs much faster. Hmmm. I haven't tried saving in PPT format instead of PPTX. And then there's an Excel spreadsheet that takes several minutes to output 14 pages via print to Adobe PDF printer (it used to be much faster, I don't know why it suddenly slowed down, I didn't change the spreadsheet), I wonder if that would be faster if I saved in PDF format rather than printing to the Adobe PDF printer.
Again, thank you. You have helped, plus you gave me leads to follow.

  • Problem with printing from Powerpoint 2007

Am printing to pdf from Powerpoint 2007 (using Acrobat 8.1.4), using the Print>Select Printer>Adobe PDF route, but the pdfs that are being created look terrible (distorted, washed out colours, etc) and print even worse. Is there an incompatibility problem, or has a setting gone awry? Thanks in advance.

It may vary. I have seen some strange results from OFFICE 2007, where there apparently are some hooks built into the MS software. You might try with OFFICE 2003 or OpenOffice. I have used OFFICE 2003 for some things and gotten excellent results, where OFFICE 2007 created issues. I know that it is OFFICE 2007 since I also played with different versions of Acrobat for Office 2007 and got the same strange results, where things were fine with OFFICE 2003. There may be an issue with the
I just created a new PDF from PPT 2007 and the results were looking fine. For folks to be able to comment more effectively, they need to be able to duplicate what you did and I am not sure that can be done with the information you have provided. Specifically, what job settings file did you use in the Adobe PDF printer, etc.

  • Printing Problems with PowerPoint 2007

    Running Acrobat Pro 8.1.4, / Distiller Pro 8.1.3 / and PDF Maker Plug-in 8.1.3.0 / Windows XP.
Using the plug-in from PowerPoint 2007 to create a PDF file of that PowerPoint, I see the following: "preparing slide"  and then "Converting to Adobe PDF ..." and then receive the following "Acrobat PDF Maker" error: "An error occurred when trying to print to Adobe PDF."   On other occasions, when I've tried this -- my PC crashed.
When I use the printer function in PowerPoint ("print to adobe pdf" ) to get around this problem -- the first time, the process seems to complete, but then, no pdf file appears (I have the option set to open that file) ... and the file is not present in the saved location.  However, when I try the same thing again -- the resulting file both appears and is available as a saved file in the right location.
Any insights / suggestions would be appreciated.
    Thanks
    Gary

Thanks Bill - appreciate your advice.  I printed the PowerPoint "to file" (but was required to uncheck the "use system fonts only" option.)  Having generated the print file*, I ran distiller without any problems - no error messages.  Having failed to understand the problem that way - I saved the powerpoint in 2003 format, and again, tried to use the pdf maker plug-in -- and received the same error message at the same junctor as before.  (I had preferences set-up with "embed font -- which I unchecked and also tried to run -- but without success.)
*Something odd -- the last several times that I have used the print to PDF (with or without "to file" checked) -- I seem to fail on the first effort ... but succeed on the second effort.
Will look forward to any further guidance.
    And again ... thanks.

  • Exporting Keynote 4.0 to Powerpoint 2007 and 2008

I know that this topic has been discussed previously with respect to Powerpoint 2007 but I'm somewhat frustrated with the export to powerpoint feature in Keynote. Some background:
    1. Using keynote since version 1.0
    2. Never had a significant problems with exporting to Powerpoint 2004 (minor issues aside)
    3. Keynote files exported to .ppt don't open in Powerpoint 2007/2008 (exect very basic files). Exported file can be opened in 2004....
    4. Thought that it was an issue with Powerpoint but after trying various combinations now convinced that it is Keynote.
    Any ideas?

I have the same problem. When I export a Keynote 4.0.1 presentation to Powerpoint, it cannot be played with the new Powerpoint 2008 on that same Mac (Powerpoint crashes), and it cannot be played on a Windows machine with Powerpoint 2007 (puts Powerpoint into a weird state).
I can take that exported Powerpoint to my iMac where I haven't upgraded to Office 2008 and play it on the older Powerpoint 2004. If I bring the exported Powerpoint (from Keynote 4.0.1) into Powerpoint 2004 and then do a SaveAs from Powerpoint 2004, I can play THAT EXPORT with Powerpoint 2008 on my MacBook Pro.
Keynote 4.0.1 needs to be fixed soonest!

  • Does Adobe CS5 require powerpoint 2007 or will it work with 2003

I work in IT for a company and we have some users saying that they require Powerpoint 2007 to work with CS5.
I would like to know if CS5 requires Powerpoint 2007 for certain task or whether 2003 is sufficient. From my understanding work completed in CS5 can be exported into powerpoint, but I don't understand how Powerpoint 2007 could offer more benefits than 2003 after the export.
If both can be used can anyone tell me the additional benefits that 2007 offers over 2003 to justify the purchase of 2007
The reason i'm posting here is I don't use the CS5 suite and haven't been able to find this information on the internet elsewhere.
    Any feedback much appreciated

There is no express interdependence, or really any other direct connection between Adobe CS apps of any version, and MS Office of any version. Using content across the applications is a matter of appropriate image format. You can save images using CS5 that will work in Office '97. And, the same could be said for Photoshop 7 and Office 2007, or Photoshop (any version) and Office (any version).

  • Will Acrobat XI export pdf to PowerPoint 2007?

I am using PowerPoint 2007, and would like to know what editions of PowerPoint the Acrobat XI export feature can convert a pdf to"

Acrobat XI converts PDF into PPTX format and PowerPoint 2007 understands PPTX very well.

  • PowerPoint 2007 Notes Pages to PDF = low quality

We're battling a problem here where, when printing a presentation's notes pages from PowerPoint 2007 to PDF, the result has very jagged, low quality font edges. However when printing the same presentation from PowerPoint 2003, the fonts are smooth and perfect. The same result occurs making a PDF with PDF Creator, Nuance PDF Professional 5, etc. BUT, when we print the presentation's notes pages directly to the printer (a Xerox 6060 in this case), the presentation looks perfect as well.
Because of this, I can't tell where to start looking for help, here or Microsoft. I want to think that PowerPoint 2007 is outputting garbage to the PDF Maker, but like I said, when I print the notes pages directly to the printer, it looks fine.
Is there anyone experienced out there that can help shed some light on this issue please?

I assume that 2007 and 2003 of PPT were on different machines. I suspect it is either in the setup of PPT or you are not embedding fonts in the PDF. Be sure you are NOT using the Standard settings file, but select Print or Press.
