PowerView In Project Server 2013 is not working
Hi All,
I am working on environment with Project Server 2013. In report part i am not able to see or view only power view reports.
I am testing this with default report provided by Microsoft, where other reports (power pivot) are working fine.
My power view report is not showing any error, it is simply gets opened as blank sheet.
Quick replies and help will be appreciated.
Note: I have installed silver light latest version too.

I am also experiencing issues with this. After the approval task is completed, the Workflow gets cancelled with the following message

What is interesting is when the Approval task is completed, the approver will receive an email notification that the task was CANCELLED or DELETED....
not COMPLETED, which is what would be expected.
Has anyone seen this - any potential resolution?

Project Server 2013 timesheets not showing up for approval
We're using Project Server 2013 and entering timesheets. I'm a team manager who is set up as the timesheet approver for a few people, including Nicole.
Nicole opens her timesheet and fills it in for the week. She applies time to four Administrative tasks and two project tasks.
Nicole submits her final timesheet for approval. (We have also tried having her save it first, then to the final submission, with the same results.)
I go to my approval screen and see the four Administrative tasks listed as separate lines. I do not see the project tasks.
I select the four Administrative tasks and approve them. They disappear when the screen is submitted.
In previous weeks, and with some other employees, I would immediately see a single line item that said "My Timesheet" for Nicole which I could then approve. But recently this stopped, and I do not see her timesheet.
If Nicole checks the status of the timesheet it says it's submitted to me.
On my Approval page if I go to History, Timesheets this timesheet is not listed under "approved by me" nor is it under "my resources unsubmitted timesheets." It's in limbo.
The only fix is for Nicole to recall the timesheet and resubmit it. Then it shows up on my Approval page.
Any suggestions?
-- PaulWe resolved this. The solution was as follows:
Go to PWA Settings, and under Security choose Manage Groups.
Click the Team Members group.
Scroll to the Categories section, and in the Selected Categories area highlight (select)
My Tasks.
Click the box to allow the permission called Adjust Timesheet which is under the grouping for Resource.
Now don't ask me how or why that works. It's not a setting that intuitively matches what's going on. But it fixed it for us.
By the way, we had a number of other timesheet issues (view failures, etc.) that were all cleared up when we installed the April 2014 Cumulative Update for Project Server 2013, as well as SharePoint 2013 SP1. I highly recommend both.

Task Updates By Team Members In Project Server 2013 but not reflects in MSP 100% completed

My problem is related to Project Server & Project Professional 2013
My scenario is like that Project Manager publish the project plan, and respective team member get their task. And Team Member is updated the task,then send to the Project Manager for approval. Project Manager is approved the task. But, while opening my
project in MSP 2013, it is not synced means, in msp it is not showing task 100% completed.
Please solve this problem, I am waiting for your response.

Yes, two errors are showing while opening in MSP like:
1) The following job type failed to complete, Job Type -Load. Could not load project. Please try after sometime.

Lync Server 2013 federation not working
Hi all,
setting up Lync in my lab.One Front End server and one edge server.
Local ip is:
Front End Lync server : 192.168.0.5
Edge server: 192.168.0.8
In my router i forwarded port 5061 to Front End server.
Trying to federate With my work , and added it to Federated domain there and also in my Lync environment.Still status in Lync is presence unknown.Internally everything Works fine.When i sign in With Lab account from work it Works fine.
What am i missing here?Tried to port fwd 5061 to my edge server,but it didnt help either.
Any tips?

Would you please elaborate more about federation environment?
Which federation type did you choose?
I see the IP of FE server and Edge server in one subnet, did you deploy Edge server in DMZ zone?

I installed SQL server 2012 & Sharepoint server 2013 and after that the MS project Server 2013 is not installing on the same server -- pls hv a look the enclosed screenshot. sent at [email protected] and guide me to resolve it on priority.
A windows poped up - Installation Error - This Project requires MS Sharepont Enterprise edition... (Which is not available on the MSDN Server)..only standard edition available.

Enterprise for Project Server 2013.

Project Server 2013 requires the Enterprise edition of SharePoint Server 2013. Prior versions of SharePoint Server and SharePoint Foundation 2013 are not supported.

Project Server and Project Pro 2013 - Tasks not allowing Uncomplete Work to be rescheduled
We are current;y running Project Server 2013 on Premise and using timesheets to update task status. We are using the proactive task scheduling to let the allocations, work and dependencies drive the schedule to get accurate project finish dates.
We have several projects that give an error stating "Change would modify work entered by a team member" and "We can't make that change because Project Web App is set to only allow actual work to be entered by a team member through Timesheets
or My Work" when setting the status date and Updating the Project and selecting reschedule Uncompleted Work to start after the status date. We have determined that usually it is only a single task causing the error. we have tried to remove the resource
when no actuals have been entered but we get the same issue. Any help would be greatly appreciated.Paul,
Looks like the settings "Only allow task updates via Tasks and Timesheets" has been enabled on your PWA (under Server Settings >> Task Settings and Display).
But the setting is used to prevent any updates to actual work from project pro, and will throw the error you mention above, if a PM tries to update the actual work.
I am not sure why the "Rescheduling of uncompleted work" would thrw this error, but worth checking that setting.

Resource filter is not working on 'Timesheet Adjustment' page. in project server 2013

In Time-sheet approval page, Time sheet manager unable to filter the resource time-sheet.

As far as I know, this feature which exists since at least PS2007 was never reported as "buggy". Thus I think it is an issue due to which user filters on which timesheets, meaning a visibility setting. It is really hard to debug for you since I
do not know exactly the steps you went through and your configuration. I would start by testing simple scenarios in a dev environment using delegation sessions to check from the timesheet manager point of view what he can see. It is also important to check
the timesheet status.

Project Server 2013 - OOB Report do not work - Overview report...

I have followed all of the step to configure reporting as mentioned in text book " implementing and administering project server 2013'. However after configuring the secure store, excel services, analysis service and sql 2012 I am unable to see the
OOB reports appear with information.
I have built the OLAP cube in projects service application successfully, however when I try to run the report no information appears.
What can I do to resolve?
ThanksI assume that you have configured excel services,secure store and built OLAP cube correctly and you are also having data in your Project server.
You can open cube report and excel report, then select row column or value according the need it will display data.
If you are using report viewer and author group make sure account from which you are trying to open report will have sufficient access or you can check with service account.
Also check when you open report, you select enable data which appears in the upper ribbon of the reports.
If you still facing any issue please let us know,what exactly is the issue.

Project Server 2013 Task Reassignment Privileges Off? (Works in Timesheet)
Version: Project Server 2013
I'm trying to give our users access to reassign tasks. I turned on "Reassign Task" on the Global Permissions and gave them security to "Assign Resource" on all their categories.
I've tested this, and the "Reassign" feature is available and working then they are on the "Timesheet" page, but it is grayed out and gives the message:
"This control is currently disabled. You might not have the right permission level to use this, you might need to select an object or item, or the control might not work in this context."
Again, the same task is available to be reassigned in Timesheet though.
My guess is that this is a Security Permission issue, because my account which I am the Administrator and Owner of the project, I can reassign tasks on both pages.
Any suggestions?

Just for your information, as far as I know, the "assign resources" is not necessary for using the "reassign task" feature. The "reassign task" global permission is enough.
To be sure to understand your issue, the "reassign task" button is available for you as admin or project owner, but not for users which you granted the "reassign task" permission to? Am I right?
You are talking about global permissions but did you add the "reassign task" to the
groups permission the users belong to?
Silly question, but do the users have select a task before trying to reassign it?

Project Server 2013 - Approved Tasks not applied to Project Schedule
Environment Details: Microsoft Project Server 2013 SP1
When an Resource completes a tasks within the Task or Timesheet page at the end of each day, the tasks is routed to the Project Owner for approval. The Project Owner (Project Manager) approves the task. During this process no errors are displayed.
When the Project Owner (Project Manager) goes into the Project Professional 2013 client to view how the project is progressing, and update the project completion date, the updates is not applied to the project.
This worked for some time, but has recently stopped working with no changes made to the environment. Any help would be great, as our project manager's are manually updating the tasks prior to approving them so they can report back on the project each week.Hello ProjMgrMatt
Sounds pretty serious, but I think something is missing somewhere.
Make sure that the Status Manager field is the same as the Project Owner.
Check to queue to be sure that nothing is stuck and waiting.
Create a new project, publish, submit, approve, etc and see if it still happens.

Trouble Getting OOF to work on Project Server 2013
Hey all,
I am working on getting OOF working on Project Server 2013. I have followed the steps on the TechNet guide.
Once I have done this, I get an error from my manage queue jobs stating that it failed, but was not blocked for each resource. What am I missing? What would be the cause of the failure?

Project Server 2013 not saving custom field data
Hello all,
I have a Project Server 2013 deployment with several Project-level custom fields.
One of them, never saves the info typed in. All others work just fine but this one does not like to save anything. There's no error in queues or the ULS.
I'm so lost with it. Any thoughts?

I could isolate it to the project plan template. If I use my custom fields with an EPT without a plan template, I have no problem.
So the problem is the template right? Well, I did the following:
Create a blank template and attach it to the EPT. Result: all Ok.
Create a template with 10 tasks (task name only) and attach it to the EPT. Result: all Ok.
Create a template with my full 135 tasks (task name only) and attach it to the EPT. Result: all Ok.
Create a template with the 135 tasks (task name and WBS) and attach it to the EPT. Result: all Ok.
Create a template with the 135 tasks (task name, WBS and milestones) and attach it to the EPT. Result: FAIL. Cannot save custom fields again.
A user noticed something. If he opens a problematic project in Project Pro, and publish it again (no changes) then the project accepts data in the custom fields.

In Project server 2013, users are getting Project Site Provisioning Pop-up even after Operational Policies set as Do
not create a sites.
We can use “Deny” Global Permission, “Manage SharePoint Foundation”, which controls Project site creation/ delete
as temporary workaround however want to know is this know defect in Project server 2013?

I can reproduce the same behaviour in my environment. It pops-up the dialog box when Project Site Provisioning settings set to 'Do Not Create' in the Central admin for the Project Web App.
As you mentioned already you can control it via permissions as an work-around.
Alternatively, you can also ask users to select the check box 'Don't show this again for this project'
