Pre-order errors: Chemical Brothers

I preordered the new Chemical Brothers album last week, and it went on sale today. iTunes won't let me access my preorder to download it and keeps replying that it's not available in the US.
Help!
It's aggravating that I spend money on buying songs to "support" the artist when I can't have the music I'm trying to pay for. Why am I bothering to buy the album when I can't download it? I guess next time, it'll be easier to just go find an album somewhere else for free.

Hmmm---maybe you're not aware of the debacle re: the "T.I. vs. T.I.P." pre-order two weeks ago. The bonus item associated with the pre-order was delayed and it took days after the album became available commercially for the pre-order customers to get theirs.
My questions: have you gotten an email from iTunes telling you your Chemical Brothers pre-order is available for download?
Are there bonus items associated with this pre-order download? Do you want these bonus items?
If you got an email--try clicking on the link in the email to download your album.
If you haven't gotten an email and there are bonus items associated with this album--then they aren't available yet and that's the reason for the delay.
Now you've got a big decision. You can cancel your pre-order and download the version currently available on iTunes (sign into your account, find your pre-orders and cancel the Chemical Brothers one).
Or, you can be patient and wait for things to get sorted out. (Check some of the back threads to see how impatient T.I. fans were!)
I know this isn't ideal advice and I'm sure you're eager to get this CD (that's why you pre-ordered it!), but if the bonus items are important--a day or two wait will be worth it, trust me! Otherwise, how will you get these things?

In general, best buy has given me poor service throughout the year by not fixing my ability to order online for a year, messing up my pre order of Mario kart 8 by charging me for the free $10 gift card which was supposed to be free for pre ordering the game and then refusing to give me a refund for the $10 charge, and finally telling me that even though I pre ordered, because I didn't pay the bundle in full I don't get my copy at all... Not even a phone call,common courtesy to notify me. This is it! Best buy will never get business from me and I will never recomment it to anyone. Amazon on the other hand does everything right, and owns the situations and strive to make things right.Amazon is now my go to for shopping all electronic and entertainment needs. Amazon even allowed me to place a new order for the bundle and will receive it next week versus best buy saying " we don't know when we will get them."     Reading through your description of events I can certainly understand why you would be disappointed.  It is not our intent to leave any customers out when they pre-order a product with us.  While we are working to fulfill our in-store pre-orders that were not yet completed, I can also understand your desire to cancel the order and go where you could get an order shipped out to you.  I am sorry that was not us this time.
    I will certainly document your feedback so that we can learn from it and ensure that our stores are adequately equipped to fulfill orders as our first priority, but provide all care and courtesy when things don't go quite as intended.

  • Error 5002 when trying to download a pre-order.

    When I try and download the new Good Charlotte album, which I preordered, I get the following message:
    We could not complete your iTunes store request. An unknown error has occurred (5002).
    There was an error in the iTunes store. Please try again later.
    I've contacted the iTunes help people, but they seem to be utterly unhelpful. At one point they even told me I was having problems downloading a pre-order I successfully downloaded in June!
    Having looked around the site and the discussions, I've tried many of the things that are listed as remedies for similar problems - I've shortened my computer name, turned off one-click and turned it back on, repaired permissions, etc - but the problem is still occurring.
    I've noticed that other people are complaining that they are unable to connect to the ITMS with the new version of iTunes (7.1.1.) I wonder if this is related somehow?
    I tried downloading the free song, to find out if it was a problem with my connection, but that downloaded fine.
    If anyone could help me I'd be very appreciative. Thanks very much.

    The album was released on the 27th March this year, so the error occurred almost immediately after it was supposedly available.
    In the manage pre-orders section of my account, it says AVAILABLE but does not give me any choice over whether to download it, just to cancel it. Is this normal?
    iTunes customer services reset my password and tried to download the album themselves, but they also got the 5002 error, so it's been passed off to the engineers. How long does that usually take?
    If anyone has any other suggestions, it would be greatly appreciated.

    You've tried closing and re-opening iTunes and/or rebooted your computer and you have the latest version of iTunes installed ?

  • Super Smash Brothers Wii U Bundle Pre-Order

    I placed an in store deposit of $5.00 on a Super Smash Brothers Wii U Bundle close to a month ago. I usually place my preorders online, but the customer rep said it would be the same thing if I did it in store. When I went in today to pick this bundle up with the rest of my orders, they told me they didn't have my copy in stock. Even while I saw other people picking up their bundles around me!
    When I asked to speak to the Manager, he talked down to me and tried to send me off with the least amount of work on his end. I had to practically ask him to try and check the system if the store had any more "in transit." He flat out lied to me and said none in the area had any in stock (even though the customer rep next to him told me some locations had some in stock, although 45minutes away). He wouldn't even let me leave my number so I could get contacted when they got some copies in; even though I was told earlier by the customer rep that I could.
    What gives? Do Pre-Orders mean nothing? Does customer service matter? The manager couldn't even tell me if they were going to get more for sure!
    *This was at the Colma branch in California by the way. I wish I could remember the manager's name.

    When you pre-order from Best Buy, we definitely expect that we will have a product for you.  Inventory constraints on some products mean that we don't always have them on day 1 for every customer, but we certainly want to get it fulfilled as quickly as possible.  I would like to look into this for you, and I will send you a private message with additional information shortly.

    I preordered Destiny for the Xbox One and due to being so close to the release date, I went ahead and paid in full for the preorder. As an Unlocked member, my 20% discount did not apply during the preorder or during pickup so the CSR had to return/rebuy in the system to apply the discount. Would this cause me to lose the $10 reward zone certificate bonus for the original preorder?

    Nope, you`re fine as long as your Mybb info is linked to the rebuy. It`s really simple just meet these 2 requirements
    1-Pre-order any eligble version of the game by the deadline
    2-Purchase the game w/i the guidelines
    You can even pre-order the standard XB1 version at one store and purchase the PS4 LE at another store during release week you`ve met all the requirements. Just make sure your Mybb info is linked correctly to all the transactions.

  • Cannot place order ERROR: "There was a problem adding your product to cart"

    Hey guys,
    Well, once again Best Buy's online system is preventing me from making an order. It seems like nearly every time I log in I experience some new problem. This time, I'm unable to add anything to my cart. It doesn't matter what item I try to add to my cart or what browser I use or if I clear cookies...it happens every time, on every browser, with every product in the store. The error shows a red & white triangle with a message "There was a problem adding your product to cart".
    Just to clarify ahead of time: 1) I have already tried signing in using 4 different browsers (explorer, firefox, chrome, opera) & they all give the same error; 2) Prior to posting here I researched this problem & found out it is somewhat common & has been occurring since at least 2012 on BestBuy.com; 3) Every time someone posts in here about this problem, customer service offers the same "fix" every time - to sign out, clear their browser cache of cookies, shut down the browser, restart the browser, sign back in, etc.... The only problem is, this "solution" has not worked ONE time our of the many times this problem has cropped up in here over the past 3+ years. Why this "solution" keeps getting told to people even though it never works is beyond me. But, there you have it.
    Just to clarify: I have already tried this solution, And just like with everyone else before me, it didn't work for me either. So, what's the next step? There must be something else that can be done other than waiting a couple more days for it to magically fix itself (it seems that is the only thing that ever "works"...is to let several days go by and the problem ends up getting fixed in some back-end server-side patch up). 
    What I'm hoping for from you is a solution that can fix this immediately. This problem has already prevented me from making a couple purchases for items that were temporarily on sale over the past couple days. So, those are lost sales for Best Buy. What I'm hoping to do now is pre-order the Elder Scrolls Online (PS4) in order to take advantage of the $10 pre-order reward. The game releases on Tuesday the 9th. So, in order to get this done in time I need to place the order sometime today (on the 8th).
    With all these repeated technical problems making purchasing a chore & wasting my time every single time I want to buy a product it's almost as if Best Buy is telling customers "We don't care if our online system works reliably...go spend your money at Amazon instead". lol

    I'm very disheartened to hear that you've had ongoing problems when attempting to order from BestBuy.com. Our goal is ever to provide a fun and efficient shopping environment! Certainly creating aggravation serves neither you nor us and I apologize sincerely for this having been your experience.
    We recommend the troubleshooting steps you mentioned (i.e., clearing the browser cache, deleting temporary internet files and cookies) because this is the most common cause of this type of problem. I too have encountered this issue from time to time and these steps have almost always resolved the problem. I say almost always because there's one further step you can try: ensure that you have signed out of BestBuy.com, then perform the browser maintenance steps we've recommended. Afterward, before signing in to BestBuy.com, add your desired items to your cart and sign in as part of the checkout process. When the standard steps have not netted a resolution for me, this has solved the problem each time.

    I'm in the same situation.  I was up trying to get on the Verizon page at 11:55, kept getting the ECPD error.  When finally got through, the Silver Iphone Plus 64 showed arrival of 9-19.  At every step of the process, it seemed that I was ordering a phone that would arrive on day1.  At no point did it say this was an estimate.  At no point did it say it might change.  In a big yellow box, it said "9-19".  Ordered it, then got confirmation email stating it should arrive at 9-19.   Seems like all should be good, right?  Order site said 9-19, I've got a confirmation email saying 9-19, done and done.
    Then I check the website, and suddenly it changed to 10-14?!?!?!?  I feel like this was a bait and switch.  I was able to pickup an iphone5 in a local store on launch day, and would not have locked myself into a preorder through Verizon if I had known this would happen!
    So, that leads back to the original questions.  Lets assume I walk into a Verizon store on 9-19, and there is an available iphone6 plus just sitting there, can I either get that phone as fulfillment of my pre-order.  Or, cancel my pre-order and buy that phone right then and there?

  • Why is a pre-order phone no longer allowed to be shipped to my work address??

    On Friday, April 4, I went into my local Verizon Store (Orlando MetroWest) to pre-order the new Samsung Galaxy S5.  The order was placed and I was given a copy of the receipt which looked very accurate.  The sales rep had read back to me the Bill To and Ship To address in the store, and it was correct, but didn't show up on the receipt given.  When the confirmation e-mail came to me, I noticed that the Ship To info had my company name, and an address, but my name appeared nowhere on it.  I called to question this when the store opened on April 7, and all of the answers were "I don't know.  I'll have to research and get back to you."  When there were no calls returned I checked again and received the same response.  When I left my office for the day, I still had zero answers.
    I drove to the same local store and re-hashed what I'd tried to accomplish during the morning.  I was told there was no way to amend the shipping label once the order was input, despite the fact NO orders for this phone have yet to be fulfilled, since they are still in the warehouse.  I work in a nine story building with every single office working for the same global company.  There is no chance whatsoever that the FedEx delivery would ever make it to me without my name being on the label.  I don't even think FedEx would try.  It was just foolishness at the time the order was originally input (by the Verizon Store).
    During the morning there was mention of possibly cancelling the entire order and starting from scratch, which I was totally OK with, as even that delay would be quicker than someone signing for the box and it sitting God Knows Where for days/weeks.  When I said we should re-visit that option, I was now informed that it is a "Verizon Policy" to avoid fraud and NO pre-order phone could be delivered to any address except the account address of the phone owner.  That was surprising to hear since it had been done (albeit incorrectly) just a couple of days earlier.  The answer to that was, "Oh, she made a mistake in trying a work-around".  Since I was recording our complete interaction (love that feature on my current phone), I asked manager Mike to verify a third time that he could not send a phone to my office address where I am during FedEx hours, and I could not adjust the existing order to come to the store for pickup.  The answers were No and No.
    My last two Verizon phones were shipped to my office, but I do understand that some company policies do change.  I just think this is a doofus change.  I also think it was pretty foolish for the original sales rep to miss putting a person's name on the shipping label.  I have trouble believing that the computer order system would even allow her to make that mistake.  But Verizon is in phone sales exclusively and not in the corporate shipping business.  Perhaps this is some needed training.

    Epilogue:
    My problem has been solved, and I'm now happy to have my pre-order of the new Samsung Galaxy device completed in a way that totally satisfies me.  But I am kicking myself for not going this route in the first place.  I won't make that mistake again in the future FOR SURE.
    After the manager in the local Verizon Store (Orlando MetroWest) said there was nothing he/they could do to overcome the error made earlier by their store sales representative, because it was a pre-order and nothing can be changed/corrected for the initial input.  They had failed to put my name on the shipping label requested for FedEx delivery, meaning that the box containing my phone would probably NEVER reach my hands once if was delivered to a nine-story office building with many many employees.
    I simply went to my local BestBuy store and mentioned I had a very few questions to be answered prior to attempting to place a pre-order of my new Samsung phone.  I asked if the phone could be set for delivery to my office and the answer was a quick YES.  I asked if the phone could be set for pickup at the BB store and, again, the answer was a quick YES.  They were initially surprised to hear that any company would say otherwise. BestBuy requires a photo ID when they take a phone order, and a signature is required when FedEx makes its delivery, so they assured me the Verizon "Fraud Policy" quoted to me was not a standard retail answer AT ALL.  Thirteen minutes after I walked to the mobile phone department, I was walking out with all my confirmation details for a new phone.  The purchase was less out-of-pocket since BB doesn't do that VZW arrangement of paying $50 extra and then getting that back as a mail-in rebate later.  Seems no other carrier except VZW is charging that extra fee for this new device.  On top of that savings, BB gives you a $10 gift card just for doing the pre-order with them.  Bonus!!
    I may (or may not) receive my phone a few days later than those ordering at the Verizon Store, but in my situation I was assured to get mine late due to the shipping label error.  No matter what, I'm going to be pleased with my purchase, and BestBuy just earned additional respect with the way they accurately handled my Verizon purchase.  VZW it still a quality mobile phone provider, but (in my personal opinion) they are extremely weak in the guest service side of the business . . . which almost negates those other positive things.

    I tried to pre-order an album. It was one that came with a song that downloaded immedietly. I clicked pre-order and it said some error and to try again. I went to and realized I was charged for that one song that you can get first. So i thought it went ahead and pre-ordered the album anyway. I looked in my purchased history and saw nothing about the album or that one song, so it charged me for nothing! Any ideas how i can fix this?

  • I pre ordered and album and an early release song was added to my music. However it says complete pre order and if i click that it says "Already Purchased". None of the other songs on the album will downloaded onto my music either. Help

    I preo ordered the album "Lost Isles" by Oceans Ate Alaska and the first early realease song, "Floorboards" Was instantly downloaded into my music library. However, today, a new song was released early called "Blood Brothers". It hasn't been downloaded into my music library and will let me purchase it for 99p. The album also says next to it "Complete Pre Order" but if I click that it just says "Album already purchased". Please tell me how to get the album without having to individually buy each track when they are released, costing me at least another £7. :/

    I have a question about pre-ordering CDs. I just pre-order an album but my account was not charged and I didn't receive the music. I tryed to pre-order it again but it said it was already ordered. So my question is, do pre-orders come in immediatly or after a certain amount of time or something?     Pre-Order means you are orderinging before it comes out...You still won't get it until it's released. I think you'll get an email when it is released & then you can download it. Usually the advantage of this is you'll get some "extras" that aren't available on the regular release.

    I had the problem of getting my pre-order this morning so I went to the iTunes Support and left a message. An hour and a half later, I was able to download it BUT it was the regular version and not the higher quality iTunes Plus version. So I put another request in to them about that. Still waiting to hear from them. My download did include the acoustic track though.
