Pre-programmed voice mail key
I am trying to modify the pre-programmed voice mail number in my bionic (*86) to include pauses and waits separating various prompt numbers, etc. I found under voicemail settings where you can perform this mod and it accepts and displays the changes made, but when the green "voicemail" touched on the home page, only *86 is prompted and none of the modified prompts appear......I have managed it to make it work by creating a new 'contact", naming it "voice mail", then creating a separate quick dial on the home page, but utilizing this method and not the pre-installed green prompt will not allow user to see the number of voice mails waiting like the green dedicated prompt displays.
Surely there is a way to go in and modify the default number of the pre-installed voice mail prompt as there surely could be other required numbers besides *86 customarily used by Verizon???
Usually you can go to Settings>Call Settings>Voicemail Settings and change it there..

Hi All,
We have a UC520 and the system is giving us an engaged tone when ever we dial voice mail from both our external and internal numbers. I have been going over and over the config and can not understand why we are getting an engaged signal when ever we ring voice mail. Below is the show run off the UC520, hopefully someone can spot some errors in it to suggest why it does not work as im close to hitting it with a large hammer

Voice mail as last stop for hunt group
Hello:
We have no ACD ability, so I have a hunt group set up with 3 extensions (one each as second line on each of 3 phones). If no one is available on any of the hunt extensions, I want it to go to a shared voice mail box.
Can anyone help me know if this is do-able and how (nothing I've tried has worked!). Using CM 6.1/Unity 5.0
Thank you,
LindaHi Linda,
This is most possible :) I'm going to add a touch to the great info from Tere (+5 points for this Tere)
In this example we are going to do what you are trying to do as well as Light the MWI Lamp on the phones within the Line Group when a Message is left for the group.
Lets say the Hunt Pilot number is 5000 and one of the second line DN's on the Line Group member phones is 2355. Set the Hunt Pilot to Forward (CFNA) to the Unity Pilot #.
If you don't use a Routing Rule as nicely suggested by Tere you can Create a mailbox for 2355 with 5000 as an Alternate Extension. When the call routes through to Unity via the Hunt Pilot No Answer Unity should see the CLID of 5000 which will then be connected to the Mailbox on 2355. This will take care of one of the Line Group Member phones but we want to light the Lamp on the second and third phone as well :)
Try setting the the DN's of the other two Line Group members as Alternate MWI's (in Unity) as well;
Setting Up Alternate MWIs for Extensions on the Same Phone System
Cisco Unity can activate alternate MWIs for extensions on the same phone system. Note that depending on the phones and phone systems, some additional phone system programming may be necessary. Refer to the installation guide for the phone system.
To enable alternate MWIs for extensions on the same phone system, do the following procedure for each subscriber who needs alternate MWIs.
To Set Up Alternate MWIs for Extensions on the Same Phone System
Step 1 In the Cisco Unity Administrator, go to the applicable Subscribers > Subscribers > Messages page.
Step 2 Confirm that the Use MWI for Message Notification check box is checked.
Step 3 Click the Add button located beneath the MWI Extensions table to add a row to the table. By default, the first row in the table contains an "X" to indicate the primary extension assigned to a subscriber. If you want one more extension and do not need to activate the MWI on the primary extension, you can also modify the first row.
Step 4 Enter the applicable extension in the Extension field of the table. MWIs are automatically enabled for all rows in the table. When entering characters in the MWI Extensions table, consider the following:
â¢Enter digits 0 through 9. Do not use spaces, dashes, or parentheses.
â¢Enter , (comma) to insert a one-second pause.
â¢Enter # and * to correspond to the # and * keys on the phone.
Step 5 Click the Save icon.
Step 6 Repeat Step 3 through Step 5 as necessary.
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/unity/401/integration/guide/c50acu4x.html#wp1808513
Then tweak the Message Lamp Setting in CCM for the second Line appearances;
For the second Line Setting on (each phone)-
Line Settings for this Device - Changes affect only this device
Message Waiting Lamp Policy - Light and Prompt
The RED Message Lamp will then work for these Second lines on each phone.
Hope this helps!

Programming the #1 key to go to voicemail on the 3G
I have two 3G IPhones. After activation at the AT&T store, both units had voicemail that did not work. After consultation with AT&T and Apple, both units work excellent with visual voicemail. My problem is that one of the units is not programmed to go to voicemail if you press the #1 key. How to I program the key. The phone number I want to dial is 253 709 4056. What other codes do I need to add to program this on my #1 key? Thanks for the help.
Ok, I see your experience, but my experience only with 2 3G IPhones that I bought at the AT&T store, both which voice mail had to be set up at home on them. These were bought two weeks apart. The first one which was mine also did not work after the voicemail setup on the #1 key. The rep that I called had me put in a phone number with some additional symbols and numbers and then the #1 would dial the voicemail system after the voicemail setup. My wife's IPhone also did not work with the voice mail and the #1 key did not work either. The rep wallked me thru calling the vm number and the voice mail started working however the #1 key does not call any number. Again I need the procedure to save a number on that button and I know it exists.

Looking for App to dial phone number and pin to check voice mail?
When I am checking my office voice mail remotely with my 3G iphone, I can go to favorites or contacts and dial my office phone number. But then I have to manually dial my office number plus #, then wait 4 seconds and dial my pin plus #. Also, I have to touch "Speaker" or the office voice mail will not hearing the touch tones.
Is there an app that will dial the office number plus #, wait 4 seconds, then dial the pin plus # by pressing just one button? My treo had a dial feature that would dial my office voice mail number, pause 1 second per entered comma, plus pin by pushing only one button. Also, how do I make the office voice mail hear the touch tones without using speaker?Well you can enter pauses as well with the iPhone in your contact list saved number. As for the voice mail service not getting your key entries unless on speaker, not sure.

E71 E-Mail Key and Related Mail Problems
Since my E71 was updated to the latest firmware (at a Nokia Service Center) around 6 months ago I have had a number of odd mail problems, which manifest themselves as follows:
After an initial boot everything with mail and messaging works fine as expected. However at least once or twice a day the phone switches unpredictably into an odd mode with the following symptoms:
1) E-Mail key stops responding to short or long presses.
2) New e-mails and sms messages which arrive do not appear on the home screen as usual, though they may (or may not) appear as small icons in the top right corner of the screen.
3) For new e-mails only the title/header is downloaded, whereas usually I have it set to automatically download the first 2 K of each message.
4) New messages still appear as 'unread' even after reading them. Manually setting them to 'read' works, but only after a long delay.
5) The flashing navigation key light which warns of new messages/mails gets stuck in flashing mode and will not stop until the phone is rebooted.
Problems 1-3 occur every time, and 4&5 occasionally, but all can only be cured by rebooting the phone, after which it works fine again - for a while.
Since I first saw this problem I have updated the firmware twice (it is currently on the latest version), but the problem persists. I wonder if anyone has seen this problem or has any idea how to fix it? It's a great irritation with an otherwise excellent phone, especially since it was all working fine when I first purchased it. Thanks for any comments or suggestionsFor anyone who is interested, I've found the answer to my own question, though not the solution to my problem. After several days playing with mail settings I noticed that when Retrieval settings > E-mail to retrieve is set to 'Headers only' or ' Msgs & attachs', there is no problem. However, if it is set to 'Size limit' with a setting of say 2K or 5K (i.e. just enough to capture the first few important paragraphs of any message) then receipt of many types of formatted mails larger than the specified size causes the mail program to crash, and the OS to switch into the odd mode described in my earlier post.
This is particularly irritating since I travel frequently overseas in Asia where roaming GSM data use is expensive (and there are no caps or limits on roaming fees), and due to the nature of my work my e-mails typically come with long threads and large attachments. Therefore I am left with the choice between:
A) Downloading mail headers only and waiting till I can find a WiFi connection to find out what the message actually says
B) Downloading the whole message and paying many hundreds of dollars a month in data roaming fees
C) Using the fixed mail size limit setting and accept that my mail program will crash several times a day and
require the phone to be rebooted each time to restore normal functionality
Anyway, it seem this problem is clearly due a bug with the Nokia mail software in recent builds, since it worked fine with these exact same settings for the first year I had the phone, and repeated clean re-installs of the latest firmware do not fix the problem. Therefore, if any Nokia developers are monitoring this board you can add this to your bug list, and you know where to start looking for the bad bit of code. -
Text messages won't load, visual voice mail barely works, e-mail won't update
I've had the HTC Rhyme for about two weeks. Last week I noticed my text messages were not loading. I I turned the phone off a few times. Still no text messages loading. I spoke with Verizon CS and they tried several solutions that did not work. I finally reset my phone and my text messages started loading again...for a couple of days. Exactly one week later my text messages are not loading again. I am not gonna reset my phone again. In addition to no text messages not loading, my visual voicemail works sometimes ( voicemails show up hours later). My aol email does not update. When I mentioned this to the Verizon CS they said "instead of using the phone's email setup, I should download the aol app from the Google Play Store. So, I downloaded the aol mail app last week. Since I had to reset my phone I had to download the aol mail app again. But, now I can't find the aol mail app in the Google Play Store. I am VERY dissatisfied with this phone.
Sstelliott, I sorry to hear of the issue you are having with your phone and I’m here to help!
Are you able to send text and picture messages? How do you know when you are not receiving a message? Do you get an error message? Are you able to access the Internet on your phone? Are you using a third party message app?
Run the phone in safe mode http://bit.ly/tXe7I4 and have someone send you a text to see if you receive. I want to make sure a third party isn’t causing these issues.
In regards to the visual voice mail, do you notice you have the delayed message when you’re in a certain area? Make sure airplane mode is disabled and that you’re able to access the Internet. Also, make sure call forwarding is disabled by dialing *73 send from your cell. You’ll hear a few beeps and the call will drop. Finally, update the phone by dialing *228 send and selecting option 2 to update. Once the update is complete make sure you power cycle the phone.
The update should also help with the email issues. You mentioned you are unable to find the app in the Google Plat store. Go to the Play store and on the main page select the Menu key. Go to My Apps. There you should see the email app if you previously downloaded it before you did the hard reset.
If you are still having issues after the troubleshooting step above, please post back and I’ll be more than happy to further assist you.

EDGE is down.. how do i get voice mails?
how can i get my voice mails if they are not showing up on my phone because the EDGE service has been down all day here in Minneapolis.
You can also press phone > keypad > and hold down the
1 key for a few seconds...that will dial into the old
voicemail system.
I didn't know you could actually "hold down" a touch screen button. I thought it would just register a press but sure enough I tried it and it works. Pretty cool! -
1. I want free quick access to my voice mail.
2. I want to get rid of the ads on my home screen for "must have apps" and S Health in particular
3. While my son works for Amazon I don't want to swipe to the Amazon home page
4. I am not interested in My Magazine, how do I get rid of the page?
5. My monthly plan is near $300 so I don't feel anymore charitable.http://m.androidcentral.com/how-disable-my-magazine-samsung-galaxy-s5
If you want quick access to non visual vm hold down 1 key or add a contact widget and assign it to voice mail. Just touch and hold that amazon and move it to the trash. Contact son for Amazon specials. Just move up wanted apps on front screen down below to your app drawer. -
Cosmos does not notify me there is new voice mail?
My phone does not show new voice mail. Really causing problems since the only way I know I have new mail is by calling Verizon...
gbono, that would definitely cause issues, and have me just as frustrated too. Here to help out with this. Did this issue just recently start? Have you tried dialing *228, and choosing option 1? Once this programming completes, and your phone restarts, please turn off your phone, and remove the battery too for about 15 seconds. Place everything back in, and power it back on. Try placing a test call and leave yourself a voicemail to see if the notification returns. Keep us posted. Is there free voice mail service? if so how do I set it up? When I click on the voice mail icon all I see is the accept/decline agreement for Visual Voice Mail and it said something about charges will be applied on my bill so I declined.
Your Basic voice mail is a free required program for you if you do not want Basic Visual Voice mail (free) or Premium which is a paid service. Basic Voice Mail set up is free and easy to do.
1. Sign in to your My Verizon online account.
2. On left side of page in Blue letters find the drop down menu. Click to open menu then go to change features and locate Basic Voice mail and click the Red add button.
3. When you're done making this change click next at the bottom of the screen and then ok.
4. Now go into your device and set up your Basic voice mail program. You may continue to receive an error message for a period of time “Visual voice mail update”, just clear and disregard. -
I don't want to pay for visual voice mail. How can I set my phone up for basic?
The only thing that shows up is Visual Voice Mail, which will cost per message. That's nonsense.
Remove the visual voicemail ability in apps and programs/features in My Verizon. You can also dial *86 or longpress your #1 on the dialer.

Iphone voice mail: send message
Can I send voice mail messages from my iphone to other AT&T phone voice mail without ringing the recipient phone? This is typically 'press -2- to send a message' on Sprint and AT&T voice mail menus.
need navigation map for checking iphone voicemail messages from landline, it is diff from the map for traditional voice mail. Does anyone have the voice mail map?
Thanks much.Hey Rick,
That is not an feature on the iPhone.
You can call AT&T standard voice mail by going to Phone> Keypad> hold down the #1 key.
AT&T's website provides more information about their voicemail services.

New UM Cert only half works? Lost voice mail, kept Auto Attendant
We have a Lync 2013 environment with a collocated front end/mediation server using Exchange 2010 for UM services (voice mail and auto attendant to pick up and transfer by extension) Today our UM cert expired so I replaced it with a new one from a new internal
CA we brought up. Exchange accepted the cert (its valid for use) and applied the UM service to it with no problems. After restarting the UM service and testing I have noticed that we have lost voice mail since the switch.
In the past whenever we had a problem with the UM cert or UM in general we have lost access to BOTH voice mail and our auto attendant so this is weird to me. I noticed I am getting my missed call notifications in outlook, but no voicemail (and not being
prompted to leave one as the calling party either).
Event viewer isn't showing much for errors. Here is one that sounds related, but it doesn't appear every time I try to make a test call to voice mail.
The Unified Messaging server encountered an error while trying to process the message with header file "C:\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\V14\UnifiedMessaging\voicemail\12635b29-9d7f-4e2f-a274-e80a4c4bc04c.txt". Error details: "Microsoft.Exchange.UM.UMCore.SmtpSubmissionException:

commandHi,
Please go to the voicemail folder under \Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\V14\UnifiedMessaging\ to check if the folder is empty.
Please check the sentence below in the link:
http://blogs.technet.com/b/kamehta/archive/2010/12/20/um-2010-voicemail-delivery-failure-to-hub-transport.aspx
“If the folder is empty, then the voicemail files have left the UM and on its way to Hub Transport.
If you see voicemail audio files there it means the connection between UM and HT is broken somewhere. This can arise because of one of the following scenarios.
The HT receive connector is mis-configured. Check the AUTH on the receive connectors
Verify if you can telnet on hub transport's IP and port number 25
Verify if HT FQDN is resolving to the correct IP
Check if any anti-virus software is installed”
