Premiere Elements 9 doest start

elements 9 doesnt respond after clicking new project. I click on new project then it seems like its working then nothing. i click on it again then it just goes back to the desk top. I have tried uninstalling it, then restarting computer the reinstalling. nothing, then i even tried the patch. nothing. wondering if anyone has any problems like this. I know my computer is about 8 years old but its more then capable of running this with no problem. I have the 3.0 version but thinking of upgrading, and not being able to try it first is turning me off and very frustrating.

Welcome to the forum.
I'd start at the beginning of this ARTICLE, and work down. After the basics of getting things ready for PrE, there are tips on tuning your computer and your OS. Finally, there are links to help you troubleshoot.
Good luck,

Did you go through the drill
    a. video card driver version up to date according to the manufacturer of the video card
    b. if so, deletion of the BadDrivers.txt file....for Premiere Elements 12 in Windows 7, 8, or 8.1 64 bit, the path is:
    Local Disk C
    Program Data
    Adobe
    Premiere Elements
and in the Premiere Elements Folder is the BadDrivers.txt file for version 12. The BadDrivers.txt file is a file in this Premiere Elements Folder which also contains folders. You do not want anything in those folders. All you want is the BadDrivers.txt file in the Premiere Elements Folder.
Make sure that you have Folder Option Show Hidden Files, Folders, and Drives active so you can see that complete path.
The rationale for the being of the BadDrivers.txt file has its origins in post 10 of the following older thread

When you get the display card error message, is it before you import media into the project? And, when you get the message, does the program allow you to continue by pressing a Continue Button or are you stopped from going further?

  • Premiere Elements 12 starts then automatically exit

I have just bought Adobe Premiere Elements 12 (full version) with the given serial number. I installed to a legal, activated Windows 7 Professional English 64bit. I also installed QuickTime 7 (latest version). I signed in with my adobe account. I run the programme as administrator, I have the welcome screen I click on new video/new project and then it starts loading and after 30-40 seconds it just simply quits without any error message. I also tried to uninstall and install again without antivirus programme the problem is the same. I have avast free antivirus, I have no extra firewall. I have Ati Radeoen HD4500 video card with the most recent driver.
Please let me know how to fix this problem because it is HIGHLY IMPORTANT to start using it today. We start our programme today and we expected to use this programme already now!!!!!!
    Thank you in advance,

    Hi fdnyfish,
    Thanks for posting Adobe forums.
    Please provide following information :
What is the Graphics Card installed on the system ?
What is your exact graphics adapter driver version?
Have you gone to the vendor web site to check for a newer driver?
For Windows, do NOT rely on Windows Update to have current driver information
-you need to go direct to the vendor web site and check updates for yourself
    ATI Driver Autodetect http://support.amd.com/en-us/download/auto-detect-tool
    nVidia Driver Downloads http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us
How much Ram do you have ?
Do you use any external Hard Drive ?
Are you using security software e.g. Norton, etc

  • Premiere Elements 11 start up error - Windows 7, 64 bit

Premiere Elements 11 was working fine until 1 week ago.  Now I get an error on start up that says "Display Driver Intel HD Graphics is out of date. . . ". Then it loads very slowly. Once loaded, Premiere does not show the video though appears to be running it.  I checked the Display Driver and it is up to date - latest version. I "restored" PC back to a date when Premiere was working well to no avail.  I then unintstalled and re-installed Premiere 11 and still get the error. I have run diagnositics on the PC - no problems reported with display or any other function.  I also have Premiere 9 and tried it - it runs just fine - no display problems at all.  Where should I look next? Any suggestions?

In cases, such as these, I try to look for variables, in hopes of explaining the changes.
As most users have their OS Updates set to fully automatic, those are installed, fairly frequently (depending on OS, and version), and usually without any knowledge of the user.
However, the failures of video drivers seem to come after several OS Updates have been issued. MS just issued many for XP-Pro and Win7 (do not know about Win8), and we then see an increase in video driver issues. For users who employ their particular Adobe programs often, most video driver issues come immediately after Windows Updates (though not ALL Windows Updates).
I have all of my OS Updates set to notify me of availability, and then I can manually download, and manually install what I want. Taking my nVidia Quadro FX-4500 as one example, the only times that I have needed to update its video driver, have come immediately after Windows Updates - and I mean immediately. As I download and install my Windows Updates manually, I am ready for the possibility of video driver issues - most times, things work just fine afterwards, but not always. When some changes occur with the Windows Updates, a video driver update has, almost always, fixed them.
Why does this happen? I cannot tell you, but then not all Windows Updates are created equally, such as the recent one, that broke WMV display.
Do the video card/chip mfgrs. think that there is a need to update the video drivers? Observing AMD/ATI, and especially nVidia, it appears so, with a new driver coming about once per month. There ARE often features that get added, or tweaked, and especially when the card/chip is used in extreme gaming, but why every month? I would assert that it is to accompany changes in the OS with the Windows Updates, but we will need an engineer from nVidia to comment directly. As an aside, Matrox is a great card/chip mfgr. Their cards were cutting edge, and were the first to allow for multiple monitors. However, their concentration was on business machines, and not so much on Adobe products. They were slow to update their drivers, and Adobe users were often left out in the cold, for up to 6 mos. Matrox cards fell out of favor, due to the lack of video driver updates, with Adobe users. Business users, who only needed to use spreadsheets over 4 monitors, or were using software, that did not need to interface so closely with the video driver, were unaffected - not so for those in the 3D, or video-editing community.
If one were to try to draw coorelations between Windows Updates and video driver compatibility, I think that they could look to this, and a few other Adobe product forums for data. Now, most computer users do not have programs, that interface with the video driver much at all. They would never notice anything amiss. However, if one is an extreme gamer, or they work with programs, such as heavy-duty 3D, CAD *, or several Adobe products, like Premiere Elements & Pro, After Effects, Photoshop (PsE ?) or Encore, they encounter problems with video display, and often immediately after a Windows Update. In nearly every case, updating the video driver fixes things. Circumstantial evidence? Sure, but it is so common, as to almost be a "given."
Why does one not see so many video driver issues on a Mac? The video drivers, in most cases, ARE updated, when one updates their OS, as the OS updates, also update the video driver. The exceptions come from some of the recent nVidia CUDA cards, for the Mac, that will usually require a CUDA driver update - and that fixes things.
    Just some observations,
    Hunt
    * Most serious CAD applications will require a special CAD video driver, and not the general ones that most folk use. In the CAD community, the CAD drivers are also released quite often, to fix changes in the OS.

  • Adobe Premiere Elements 12 start up problem.

I just purchased and installed Adobe Premiere Elements 12.  I have a new pc with windows 8.1. Premiere required that I run the program as an administrator (???).  So I ran it as administrator and it starts up, but then immediately closes itself.

Thanks for the update on the issue details.
Bottom line: I am suspecting an Open With directive problem.
    Details.....
Please excuse the questions, but I do not want to take anything for granted
Checking the Creation of a New Project
    a. If you double click the desktop icon of Premiere Elements 12.1, does the program open to the Welcome Screen?
In the Welcome Screen can you then select Video Editor followed by New Project to open a new project?
    b. Can you open the program and a new project by double clicking on the Adobe Premiere Elements 12.exe or Adobe Premiere Elements.exe found
    Local Disk C
    Program Files
    Adobe
    12
and in the 12 Folder are these two files. The Adobe Premiere Elements 12.exe should open to the Welcome Screen and the Adobe Premiere Elements.exe opens bypassing the Welcome Screen.
Checking the Opening of a Saved/Closed Project
Now for your workaround...You right click a video file on the hard drive and select Open With and have the opportunity to select specifically Premiere Elements 12. It works. You have a new project, edited, and you save/close it. But, it is the re-opening of that saved/closed project.prel file that I suspect as being at the core of the problem.
so I double clicked the project file I had been working on and it said 'The project is not compatible with current version of Premiere Elements' (even though I had only just saved it from that version).
Where is this project.prel file that you are double clicking to re-open your saved/closed project? And, how do you get to it? What is its hard drive save location - Libraries/Documents/Adobe/Premiere Elements/12.0? If so, what happens if you right click the project prel there and select Open With, followed by Premiere Elements 12?
    Please review and consider.
Looking forward to your follow up.
    Thanks.

  • Premiere Elements not starting

    Hi
I purchased (and starting to get some serieus regrets) premiere elements 9.0 and running it on WIN7 x64
When I start it the welcome screen starts, when I chose New Project it tries to launch Premiere, but it stalls first for a long time at
the stage of  ExporterQuickTimeHost.prm it takes a really long time and then the welcome screen looks again like I never clicked anything.
If I now click again on New Project , the welcome screen disappears completely.
I read some stuff about GPU settings and all, but I never get to that stage. Since I bought PE9 one week ago I never got to stage of even seeing the damned program!!
I noticed that 2 processes are started
    Adobe premier elements.exe
    and
    Adobe premier elements 9.exe
They keep running, but there is no GUI
I updated the graphics drivers to the latest, I updated Quicktime to the latest, my WIN7 is fully up to date with the latest updates....

If you can get it working in diagnostic mode, try adding the various items back. Either do this one at a time or by halves.
Halves - say you have twenty items loading:
add back half (ten) and see if it still works.
If it does then the problem is in the half you removed.
If it doesn't then the problems is in the half you left starting.
If it does (2) then add back half (five) and see if it still works. Repeat the halving until you get to the last item - that should be the problem one.
If it doesn't (3) then take out another half (five) and see if it now works. Repeat the halving until you get to the last item - that should be the problem one.
    Cheers,
    Neale

  • Premiere Elements 4 Crashing when Starting up

Whenever I start up Premiere Elements 4 on my Windows XP Computer, I'm always having an error that states that the program needs to close and I'm unable to open a new project file or reopen an old project file. I've already tried reinstalling and repairing the program, but I'm still experiencing the same problem. I'm not sure what I should do next or what approach I should try. This is the first time I'm having this problem.

When you uninstalled Premiere Elements 4, did you also select the option to delete your preferences? Sometimes items in the Preferences folder become corrupted or just contain erroneous data because of programming mistakes. If your preferences weren't deleted, then you can see if deleting them fixes the problem. The files are in a hidden folder in the following location
    C:\documents and settings\[your Windows login name]\application data\adobe\premiere elements\4.0\
Copy everything in that folder to another location. Then delete all the files in the root of the 4.0 folder, but don't delete the subfolders. After that try starting Premiere Elements. If that doesn't work, then you can copy the files back.
Sometimes items in the cache that are stored in the registry need to be refreshed. I believe just holding down the shift key (or is it CTRL-SHIFT, or CTRL-ALT-SHIFT??) while Premiere Elements is starting up will clear the cache. The key combination seems to change with each version.
Maybe running a registry cleaner will fix it.

  • Premiere Elements 10 64 bit GUI refresh slow

    Hello All,
Before I start talking about the issue, I want to take this opportunity to thank Adobe for an amazingly feature rich Elements product pair.  Both Photoshop and Premiere Elements 10 are chalk full of unexpected features that can be useful for any body at a surprisingly reasonable price!
Having said that, I sincerely hope that there is a solution to the behavior I am experiencing.  I am going to be calling technical support tomorrow to see what they have to say.  In the mean time, I wanted to post this in the forums, in case someone has already figured out a solution or if others are experiencing the same issue and have suggestions.  Here is my system spec:
    OS: Windows 7 64 bit
CPU: AMD Quad core 3.0 GHz
    RAM: 8 GB
Multiple Hard drives (including SSD) to split load of OS, Program files, virtual memory, Media cache files, and Preview files
After searching on the Internets and the forums, I am experiencing a handicapping Premiere Elements GUI performance lag, that apparently, others have experienced in previous versions. The exact symptoms are, relatively speaking,
    generally slow GUI response,
annoying artifacts when panels are resized, at the point of resizing...sometimes these artifacts stay there until the Premiere window is minimized and restored.  For example the timeline will duplicate itself above itself when the panel is resized
choppy mouse pointer movement while a clip is being dragged on the timeline, sometimes causing irritating accurate clip placement
These symptoms are apparent, especially on the time-line where the clips refresh at a surprisingly slow rate, to the degree, that sometimes one is looking at the screen and tapping fingers while waiting for the clips to refresh on the time-line to the new position of movement.  And this is with one 3 minute movie file (1440x1080 m2ts) on the time-line with no effects or anything applied yet.
These symptoms occur when I have nothing else running in Windows (even disabled antivirus at one point), and no effects applied.  With other programs running Premiere GUI response slows down to a crawl.  It becomes unusable.  Fortunately there is a work around, though not for everyone.
The work around from the internet is to disable a Windows 7 GUI feature called "Desktop Composition".  This work around is easily implemented as such:
Right click on the Premiere Elements program shortcut.
    Click on properties
    Select the Compatibility tab
And check "Disable Desktop composition" in the Settings group
However, there is an exception to this work around.  It only reveals itself if you are using the 32 bit version on Windows 7 64 bit.  If you are using the 64 bit version of Premiere Elements then the Settings group options are grayed out.  In which case the only work around is to disable "Desktop Composition" as such:
    Right click on Computer icon
    Click on properties
    Click on Advanced system settings
    Select the Advanced tab
Click on Settings button under Performance
In the Visual Effects tab uncheck "Enable Desktop Composition"
After disabling desktop composition this way, Premiere Elements 10 GUI response rate is acceptable (though still not up to par with other comparable or higher end programs like Premiere Pro.  I have seen Premiere Pro tutorial videos made on systems with half the resources of this computer and using the same file types of similar sizes  (on multiple tracks) and resolution with mouth watering response rates to dream for).
Unfortunately there are draw backs to the second work around, because you have to disable Desktop Composition in the Advanced System Settings, you are causing all the programs to suffer from the lack of this feature.  And, apart from Aero being disabled (which I miss using) for example, other programs that depend on this feature start to show discernible artifacts on the screen when their windows are moved around, and generally speaking the Windows 7 GUI takes a visible refresh rate hit, it seems to me.
What I am hoping for is this:
An update to improve this slow refresh rate with Desktop Composition enabled, since this feature is apparently crucial for a comfortable Aero GUI user experience which I have become attached to.
If not, then at the least the ability to  disable “Desktop Composition" only for Premiere Elements.
If not, then at the very least some way to automatically disable desktop composition when Premiere Elements is started, and then when it is turned off, re-enable this feature seamlessly without user intervention.
Currently, I am having to manually go into Advanced System Properties every time before I start Premiere Elements and after I close it to disable and enable desktop composition.
    Thanks for your support!

    Thanks all for your replies...
For some reason my original adobe ID is not working.  I tried to login to the adobe forums several times since yesterday to answer your replies without success...I tried several browsers, different computers as well...it hangs on this address:
    https://www.adobe.com/cfusion/entitlement/index.cfm?e=ca&returnurl=http://forums.adobe.com /adobe_login&loc=en
So I thought I would create a new ID and see if it works and it does, i am baffled, maybe something got corrupted with the old IDs long screen name or something, but I am the same person as PhotoPremElements10-iRLU64
    To address your reply
My experience with aero has been without problems.  I have a couple of netbooks (1.6GHz atom processor) and aero works smoothly, so my quad core has been delightfully working with aero, until Premiere Elements.
I have an AMD 4850 512MB video card with all the latest updates.
After having used Premiere Elements for a few more hours, I am beginning to find other annoying problems even with aero turned off:
artifacts on the screen when windows are undocked
I tried a video with several tracks, one video and a few title tracks, and the timeline response slowed down to a crawl
Task panel does not respect the the monitor's screen resolution.  When undocked from the My Project panel and Monitor panel, and maximized on my 1280x1024 LCD, the right half of the Task panel gets cropped off (for the lack of a better phrase) and the minimize, maximize/restore and close buttons are off the screen
Even though the pdf manual talks about docking windows, I found the docking functionality missing in my install.  The only three windows I can dock are the Task Panel, Monitor, and My Project, everything else is undockable
...I could go on, but it seems I am hitting some sort of frustration threshhold with Premiere
On the other hand, I spent an hour with Photoshop Elements, and it has been nothing but a delight.  The interface is tight, response is brisk, with or without aero.  I notice that Photoshop Elements also responds a lot better with tons of apps open at the same time.
And now as I looked at other posts, it seems there is at least one other who has similar experiences with premiere elements.  I think one of them is using it on a Mac, and has the same slow responsiveness on the timeline panel.  At the least I am relieved that its not only me.
I hope there is an update soon.
    Thanks for your support!

  • Basic questions about Premiere Elements 8

I'm new to this forum and although I use Photoshop Elements extensively, I am just trialling Premiere Elements 8. I have a number of questions from my (very limited) testing so far:
    1. Most of the videos that I download from my Sony DCR-DVD110 DVDs behave fine, but one of them only has half an audio track. The full audio was there on the DVD, but in the project it appears that the second half of the audio has been moved to overlay the first half, instead of following on. The video format is VOB. Has anyone else had this problem, or could suggest how it can be remedied?
    2. I understand from the help that I can split incoming video from a DV camcorder using the timecode on the tape. However, I do not seem to get the same option when downloading from DVD as above. The scene-splitter in the project list only allows content detection (which is unreliable), or regular divisions. Does anyone know if there a timecode on the VOB files, and is there a way of using this to split video into clips that is more reliable than scene detection?
    3. I do not understand the red/green line that appears under the Timeline ruler, just above the video. In one project, I have cleared clips out of the timeline and copied new ones in. The green or red line no longer changes at clip boundaries. Where it is green, the clip audio plays back, but not the video. Where it is red, both play. I do not seem to be able to find out what this means, let alone how to change it, and do not know how I set it in the first place. Does anyone know what this coloured line means, and how to change it so that all of the clips play both audio and video?
    4. When I start the program from the Welcome Screen, it gives me the option of opening an old project. Even though I select the project that I wish to open, this does not happen. Premiere Elements 8 starts, but the project does not load. Is this just a limitation of the trial version, or a common problem? Can I skip the Welcome screen and go straight into Premiere Elements 8?
I'm looking to buy Premiere Elements 8 along with an upgrade to Photoshop Elements 8, for the compatibility and common file organiser, but so far the above problems are putting me off a purchase. The programme also does not seem to be as intuitive as Studio 7, which was the last video editing software that I used (some years ago, taking data from a DV camcorder).
Your help and any recommendations that you may be able to add would be most welcome.

Virtually all of your problems are related to your trying to edit video from a DVD camcorder. Although the program is supposed to be able to work with these video files, they can be very problematic if your computer's operating system is not fully updated, you lack the current version of Quicktime and you do not have the proper codecs installed.
The red lines you're seeing above your video on the timeline are indications of this. These are indications that your video needs to be rendered by the program in order for the program to work with it.
If you'd like to try to work with DVD cam video despite these liabilities, there are things you can do to improve performance somewhat. The FAQs to the right of this forum explain how and why.
    http://forums.adobe.com/thread/415317?tstart=0
But I recommend you convert your VOB files to DV-AVIs before you bring them into Premiere Elements. This will likely remedy nearly all of your problems (assuming your computer's hardware and software are up to the necessary specs and are fully updated).

  • Can't open Premiere Elements 11 with Yosemite

Three weeks ago, I downloaded Yosemite on my iMAC.  Photoshop Elements 11 works, but Premiere Elements 11 starts loading then disappears.  Looked in Force Quit and it is now running at all.  Help.

Does the problem exist with and without antivirus and firewall(s) disabled?
Are you working with a pen and tablet device instead of a mouse?
What are you loading when the program disappears - the Elements Organizer 11 or the Premiere Elements 11 Editor?
If you have not already, I would go with an uninstall, free ccleaner run through, and then reinstall with antivirus and firewall(s)
    disabled.
    CCleaner - Download
Before or after the uninstall/reinstall, you might also include a deletion of the Adobe Premiere Elements Prefs file which may be found
Users/Owner/Libraries/Application Support/Adobe/Premiere Elements/11.0 I am not 100% on the path, but I believe it is correct. I am strictly an Elements Windows user.
Please let us know the outcome.
    Thank you.

  • Problem installing Premiere Elements 11

    Hello,
I have a new computer.  I can install photoshop 11 and it works fine.  When I try to install premiere elements, it starts loading the installer and quickly stops, giving me only a window with status of the windows installer (same screen you see if you run msiexec).    This is win7 64 bit.  I have used this install disc on one other win 7 machine and installed both photoshop/elements fine, so there is nothing wrong with the disc.  I get the same problem if I try to download a trial version of elements.   I have directx 11, however as another test I started install on another machine with directx11 and it was working.   So... I'm not sure what is preventing the install.  Any insight would be appreciated.  Thanks

Thanks for the suggestion but I'm still getting the same message.  It start to load windows installer then a window pops us with text starting with
    Windows ® Installer. V 5.0.7601.17514
msiexec /Option <Required Parameter> [Optional Parameter] ........  and other test similar to display from msiexec.
I get this message whether I install from disc or a downloaded trial version.
However only certain programs are a problem.  I was able to install Photoshop and quite a few other applications.   The difference between Photoshop and Premiere Elements could be a clue.
    Thanks

  • Premiere elements crashes when trying to access the edit tab features

Hi.   I've just loaded premiere elements and started up a new project.  I was then browsing through the software to get an idea what it was about.  When I clicked on the orange edit tab this gives access to the effects, transitions, titles, themes and clip art screens but when I click on the transitions icon the programme crashes.  Everything else seems o.k.  I've also tried accessing the transitions through Window - Transitions but it crashes. I suspected that it might just be that the programme hadn't installed properly so I uninstalled and reinstalled it.  Still same problem.  I've a computer with core duo processor, 4Gb ram and 3Tb of hard disk with ample free space.  Anybody had similar problems?

Thanks for the replies.  I have an nvidia card so will try some of the suggestions and see if I have any luck.
    Will let you know.
    Thanks again

  • Issues running Premiere Elements 8

Open Premiere Elements 8 and all I get is a grey screen.  Unable to start a new project or open old one.

    A.T. Romano
Q:  What is your issue....when you get the grey screen, do you have media on the Timeline? If you have media on the Timeline, what are its properties?
Is this a "it worked before but not now" or "it never worked before" issue?
A:  I launch Premiere Elements 8.   I get the Screen which has Organize, New Project and Open Project buttons.  If I select the New Project Button Premiere Elements 8 starts to load.  Then I get the software home page with the New Project Dialog box.  Enter Junk as the name and hit OK button.  Nothing happens.  The dialog box goes away and I’m left with the PRE8 form with the back bar at top with the menu in it and a greyish screen below.  Almost all of the options in the different menu’s are not avaialbe.  Ender File, New Project, Open Project and Recent Projects are available.  Select Open Project, and pick project from list and get message;  “Projects created with Adobe Premiere Pro and Adobe Premiere Elements are not compatible. Please use the appropriate application to open this project.”
The usual drill questions for Premiere Elements 8 users
Are you working from the 8.0.1 Update of the program?
Do you have the automatic Background Rendering and AutoAnalzyer features turned Off?
Have you looked at the issue with and without "Enable GPU Playback" enabled in preferences?
    A:
    Yes, using 8.0.1
I think I do have this turned off.  But can’t get to Edit – Preferences to turn Background Rendering on.
    No, but can’t open preferences.
    Q:
What computer operating system is your Premiere Elements 8.0/8.0.1 running on?
How many video cards/graphic cards does your computer use, 1 or 2. Whatever the case, is the video card/graphics card driver up to date
according to the web site of the manufacturer of the card(s)?
    A:
    Computer information.
    Manufacture – Dell
    Model – Studio XPS 9100
Processor – Intel Core i7 CPU   Memory – 9 GB
Operating system – Window 7 Home Premium  64 bit – Service Pack 1
Display adapter  - ATI Redeon HD 5670  Driver Date 5/17/2010   Driver Version  8.740.0.0 Per Microsoft, update version not available.  However, went to web and updated version to 13.251.0.0.  Issue still happens.
    No Import Updates available
7 Optional updates installed – retested issue and it’s still happening
    1 card.
Please let me know if you require additional information.
P.S.  I did try to uninstall and re-install the software, but that made no difference
    New information;
    When I launch Premiere Elements 8, there are three options;
    Organize
    New Project
    Open project
The last two don't do anything and give me the empty software screen.  The first one does seem to open the software up correctly.  I am able to get to the menus including Edit - Preverences this way.

  • Premiere Elements 11 Mac Trial expires on first launch

    Hi,
I downloaded the trail of Adobe Premiere Elements 11 for Mac today as I'm looking for an alternative to iMovie.
I installed it as soon as it was finished and all went OK.  I did the trail signup part and created and Adobe account but when Premiere Elements 11 started I got a popup window saying my Trial has expired and I only have this one launch left!!  What?  Is it really only a single launch trial or has something gone screwy?
I like the look of it so far but come on, surely I can get more than a single trial launch?
Using Mac OSX 10.8.2 and never tried an Adobe Trail before so its not a legacy install or anything.
    Thanks,
    Andy

    Jeff.
Sorry but thats completely unhelpful.   I have never used an Adobe Product before on this machine, Flash excluded.  I downloaded the trail which took 45 mins, isntalled it and then launched it.  One the very first launch it told me the trial had expired so I only had that single launch.  I had a quick go with it and then closed it.  When I try and open again it tells me its expired!
I do not have another machine to try it on.   As per your link
Changing the system clock - Nope, didn't do that.
Modifying the executable file - What now??
Attaching a debugger - Errrrr.  No idea what a debugger is.
Automated virus scans - Don't run a virus scanner on my Mac.
So basically I've wasted all that download data from my capped connection and had exactly 20 minutes for my trouble and thats it.  I'm not asking to extend the trial.  I'm asking FOR THE TRIAL!  To have it expire on me straight away is rubbish when I haven't done anything.  Well, I guess you've lost me as potential customer then.  I was going to try Photoshop CS6 as well but not going to bother now.
