Prepare Move Request Overrides target user data overwritelocalobject

Hi all, I'm migrating from Exchange 2010 email between two different forests.
The two forests are Windows Server 2008 R2.
The two forests have the same users, and these are in production.
In migration, I need to migrate all mail alias forest users and permissions origin shared calendars.
When I run Prepare-MoveRequest.ps1, and put-overwritelocalobject, I target the user overwrites user data.
I overwrite data as zip code, description ...
If I do not put overwritelocalobject, I migrated user aliases.
How I can migrate mailboxes and aliases calendars permissions without overwriting other user data target?
regards
Microsoft Certified IT Professional Server Administrator

have you figured this out yet?
as I am doing a similar task,
however as of the lates CU fro 2013, I am using the prepare-moverequest.ps1 from, it states that you have to use
-uselocalobject & -overwritelocalobject.
however it returns everything fine, but when I go into AD I do not see any MSExch things set for this user, they are all blank.
I migrated users with ADMT first, then ran the prepare.
If I delete the user from the new environment, & then re-create them with prepare, then run ADMT all works fine.
the issue I have is with the users I did ADMT first, when I try a move I get either a legacyDN error or a ObjectGUid error......
would be nice if M$ could get their stuff together & get things working correctly.

  • Prepare-Move-Request - membership not updated

    Hi,
At executing Prepare Move Request, I get problems with updating security group membership(2 security groups in the following screenshot). Updating distribution group membership is OK(1 distribution group in the following screenshot).
The distribution group and the security groups were previously manually created at target forest.
    The question is:
Does "PrepareMoveRequest" update only distribution group membership?
    Thanks in advance!

    Hi Lynn-Li,
    The problem remains the same.
The test mailbox account (source forest) is member of 3 security groups (1 universal, 1 global, 1 domain local) and 3 distribution groups (1 universal, 1 global, 1 domain local). The security groups were manually created at target forest with same
name, type and scope. At target forest the distribution groups are universal.
In the following screenshot the membership of distribution groups are updated, but the mermbership of security groups are not updated.
    The questions are:
Is the above problem with security groups membership the normal behavior with Prepare-MoveRequest script?
    Thanks in advance!

  • Move request stuck

    Hi
I have a user where I removed the failed moverequest. If I take a look at the user at the on-premise EMC he still has the little Move Request ICON. I can not move him again now.
I tried to create a migration batch from Office 365, but that was "stalledduetomailboxlock"
Then I stopped the batch, but now that is in "Stopping"
How can it go this bad - and what can I do to clear everything?
    BR
    Steen

Run Get-MoveRequest in Online PowerShell.  Run the same cmdlet in the Exchange Management Shell.  Make sure that there is no move request for the user in either side.  If there is, delete it.

  • How to push a perticular request from PSA to Data target using DTP in BI

    Hello all.
I have mulitple requests in PSA & wanted to move only perticular requests (Randomly,  say first request & last request ) to data target using DTP in BI 7.0. How can we do this.. ? Is there any option in DTP (BI 7.0)for selective loading of requests from PSA to Data Target..
      Thanks in advance..
    Cheers,
    sami.

    Hi,
It is possible by using 'zero fetch' in DTP
If you want only the recent req to be loaded.
    1. In PSA, change the status of the recent request to red
    2. Do a zero fetch
that is processing mode - No data transfer; delta status in source: fetched
With this processing mode you execute a delta without transferring data.
    3. change the particular request status back to green
    4. Run a delta load

  • How to Schedule a particular request from Datasource to Data Target

    Hi Freinds,
I have loaded x no of requests of flat file sources to the data source(p.s.a) ,  But i am unable to load particular request no  to the data targert(incube) throgh D.T.P.
    Thanks & Regards
    P.vishwam

    Hello,
You may try the this option.
Right click on the datasource -> Manage. Now you can see all the PSA requests. Now, click on the traffic light button of all the requests except the request that you want to load, and set their status in to red.
Now if you run the DTP, it will pick only the green one. After the DTP is completed, you can change back those red requests into Green status.
    Hope this helps.

  • Migrating Users & Data from a Powerbook G4 to a MBP

OK, I'm getting a refurb. MBP and I'm going to need to transfer over my stuff from the Powerbook G4 to the MBP. The thing is...both my 400 and 800 FW ports in the Powerbook have ceased to function, so Target Disk Mode will not work for me. I could use the Ethernet form of transfer to get everything over but that implies that the MBP will have to be up and running and have it's network settings all configured in order for it to be "seen" on the network. Is this the case? Or, upon startup of the MacBoook Pro, will I be prompted to migrate data & users via Ethernet?
In the past, I've been able to use Target Disk Mode and I'm familiar with that procedure, I just don't know what to expect via an Ethernet migration. Can anyone enlighten me?
    Thanks

A Basic Guide for Migrating to Intel-Macs
If you are migrating a PowerPC system (G3, G4, or G5) to an Intel-Mac be careful what you migrate. Keep in mind that some items that may get transferred will not work on Intel machines and may end up causing your computer's operating system to malfunction.
Rosetta supports "software that runs on the PowerPC G3, G4, or G5 processor that are built for Mac OS X". This excludes the items that are not universal binaries or simply will not work in Rosetta:
Classic Environment, and subsequently any Mac OS 9 or earlier applications
    Screensavers written for the PowerPC
    System Preference add-ons
    All Unsanity Haxies
    Browser and other plug-ins
    Contextual Menu Items
Applications which specifically require the PowerPC G5
    Kernel extensions
Java applications with JNI (PowerPC) libraries
See also What Can Be Translated by Rosetta.
In addition to the above you could also have problems with migrated cache files and/or cache files containing code that is incompatible.
If you migrate a user folder that contains any of these items, you may find that your Intel-Mac is malfunctioning. It would be wise to take care when migrating your systems from a PowerPC platform to an Intel-Mac platform to assure that you do not migrate these incompatible items.
If you have problems with applications not working, then completely uninstall said application and reinstall it from scratch. Take great care with Java applications and Java-based Peer-to-Peer applications. Many Java apps will not work on Intel-Macs as they are currently compiled. As of this time Limewire, Cabos, and Acquisition are available as universal binaries. Do not install browser plug-ins such as Flash or Shockwave from downloaded installers unless they are universal binaries. The version of OS X installed on your Intel-Mac comes with special compatible versions of Flash and Shockwave plug-ins for use with your browser.
The same problem will exist for any hardware drivers such as mouse software unless the drivers have been compiled as universal binaries. For third-party mice the current choices are USB Overdrive or SteerMouse. Contact the developer or manufacturer of your third-party mouse software to find out when a universal binary version will be available.
Also be careful with some backup utilities and third-party disk repair utilities. Disk Warrior 4.1, TechTool Pro 4.6.1, SuperDuper 2.5, and Drive Genius 2.0.2 work properly on Intel-Macs with Leopard. The same caution may apply to the many "maintenance" utilities that have not yet been converted to universal binaries. Leopard Cache Cleaner, Onyx, TinkerTool System, and Cocktail are now compatible with Leopard.
Before migrating or installing software on your Intel-Mac check MacFixit's Rosetta Compatibility Index.

Transferring data with Setup Assistant - Migration Assistant FAQ
Because Migration Assistant isn't the ideal way to migrate from PowerPC to Intel Macs, using Target Disk Mode, copying the critical contents to CD and DVD, an external hard drive, or networking
will work better when moving from PowerPC to Intel Macs. The initial section below discusses Target Disk Mode. It is then followed by a section which discusses networking with Macs that lack Firewire.
If both computers support the use of Firewire then you can use the following instructions:
    1. Repair the hard drive and permissions using Disk Utility.
    2. Backup your data. This is vitally important in case you make a mistake or there's some other problem.
    3. Connect a Firewire cable between your old Mac and your new Intel Mac.
    4. Startup your old Mac in Target Disk Mode.
    5. Startup your new Mac for the first time, go through the setup and registration screens, but do NOT migrate data over. Get to your desktop on the new Mac without migrating any new data over.
If you are not able to use a Firewire connection (for example you have a Late 2008 MacBook that only supports USB:)
    1. Set up a local home network: Creating a small Ethernet Network.

  • Mailbox move requests remain in Queued status

My server is part of a two member DAG.  DAG shows to be healthy.  I have turned logging up to Expert level but no useful data is generated (only shows that the move request was created; no problems are indicated)
Server is Exchange 2010 SP 3

    Hi,
Please check the database copy status under management tab on source database and target database. This can be that one or more of those databases you are moving mailboxes to has a failed or suspended copy and its failing the DataMoveReplicationConstraint
    check.
Refer to this blog about Exchange 2010 Mailbox Moves and Mailbox Resiliency
    http://blogs.technet.com/b/exchange/archive/2011/05/06/exchange-2010-mailbox-moves-and-mailbox-resiliency.aspx
In addition, please check the event log on the Client Access server running the instance of the Microsoft Exchange Mailbox Replication service that's processing the failed move request.
    Best Regards.

  • New-moverequest - target user already has a primary mailbox

I used prepare-moverequest and ADMT to copy/migrate user accounts from a source to target domain.  The source domain accounts were disabled and all usres log in with their target domain accounts.  Computer accounts were also migrated to the target
domain.  But mailboxes were kept in the source domain for now as linked mailboxes.  When I run new-moverequest to move the mailbox from source to target domain it says "target user already has a primary mailbox".  How do I correct this?
Do I need to convert the mailbox back to user from linked?

    Hi
You need to run the New-MoveRequest command in the target forest not the source.  If you aren't able to log on directly to a server in the target then you can run this via remote powershell.

  • Ramifications of using -DoNotPreserveMailboxSignature on a move request

What are the ramifications of using -DoNotPreserveMailboxSignature on a cross-forest move request?  There is very little documentation available on this switch and what exactly it does to the mailbox.
The reason I ask is that it was suggested we try this switch to force the Outlook profile to update the mailbox display name.  I am wondering if there is any negative impact on the user mailbox or profile when using this switch.  Specifically I
    would like to know:
Does it force a reindex of all the email?
Does it force a full recreation/re-download of the OST?
Anything else it does that might impact functionality of the mailbox or network utilization from the client after the move?
    Thanks,
    Matt

    Hello,
In Exchange 2010 SP1 RU2 later, when you perform mailbox moves, the mailbox mapping signature is preserved. By preserving the mapping signature, we can minimize Outlook requiring
a restart, as long as the following conditions are observed:
     1) The source and target Mailbox servers are running SP1 RU2 or later.
     2) The RPCClientAccessServer property does not change between the source and target database.
    a. If within an AD site you have created a CAS array, then when you move the mailbox within that site, you will not have to restart Outlook as long as both databases are configured with the CAS array name for the RPCClientAccessServer property.
    b. However, if you move the mailbox between AD sites, then the CAS array value will not change automatically.
If you do a profile repair, then Outlook will have to be restarted.
    c. Likewise, if you do not use a CAS array and the source and target databases have different RPC endpoints (even within the same AD site) then Outlook will need to be restarted.
In the situation where you have named property exhaustion for the mailbox, the mailbox move will fail. In order to reset the named properties, you must use the DoNotPreserveMailboxSignature
    parameter with the New-MoveRequest cmdlet.

  • OIM 9.1 User data set

    Hi,
In release note of 9.1 it is mentioned that :
Display of all OIM User attributes on the Step 3: Modify Connector Configuration page
On the Step 3: Modify Connector Configuration page, the OIM - User data set now shows all the OIM User attributes. In the earlier release, the display of fields was restricted to the ones that were most commonly used.
    and
Attributes of the ID field are editable
On the Step 3: Modify Connector Configuration page, you can modify some of the attributes of the ID field. The ID field stores the value that uniquely identifies a user in Oracle Identity Manager and in the target system.
Can anyone please guide me how to get both things as I am getting only few fields of user profile in OIM-USer data set and also not able to modify ID field.
I am using OIM 9.1 on Websphere application server 6.1
    Thanks

Unfortunately i do not have experience using the SPML generic connector. Have you read through all the documentation pertaining to the GTC?

  • Corrupt User Data Spinning Wheel Of Death Mac Palm Desktop Rev D

    Hello,
My Treo 700p stopped working and Palm Desktop on My Mac will not open, import, or merge my user data files (current and backups). I've tried the apple-option Merge and import tricks to no avail. If it is set as the default user data, palm desktop will freeze on its splash screen and give me the spinning wheel of death. If i open, i get the message "Opening User Data One moment please..." with an eternal spinning wheel of death (SWOD). If i restore (apple-option merge) i immediately get the SWOD, If i merge, i am notified that the merge is successful, but then i get the spinning wheel of death before any data is displayed. I can open the userdata in textwrangler and see all of the phone numbers, notes, etc, but It seems impossible to parse into any format for reimporting or moving to my Pre. Are there any other tricks to opening the user data or recovering its contents. Any debug tools or software interrupts or anything I can do? Is there a way to open this stuff in a properly parsed format? Can User Data files be opened or imported by any other app? Also the Treo 700p gets power and the red light stays on but it never boots, perhaps there is a forensic tool that can recover the data?
Thank You for all your help and I would greatly appreciate any resolution.

What BDAqua said. Get those crummy fonts you added off the drive. At least one of them must be so bad that's it's corrupting RAM every time the system tries to load it.
A Safe Mode boot removes the user cache files of the account you log into in Safe Mode, and clears Font Book's database. Normally, that would allow you to restart normally since Font Book's database is not rebuilt until you launch Font Book. That you can't even get that far means you have some really BAD fonts.
Boot into Safe Mode again. Make a new folder on the desktop and move all of the fonts you added out of the /Library/Fonts/ folded, or the Fonts folder of your user account. Whichever one you put them in.
Now you should be able to startup normally.

  • Exchange 2013 shell mailbox move requests showing up on 2010 hub server

We're in the process of migrating from exchange 2010 to 2013. All servers are patched and up to date. We have two 2010 CASs (one for external OWA use only) and a mailbox cluster. Our exchange 2013 setup is almost a mirror with the exceptions of how the exchange
    server roles have changed.
Any new-moverequest commands entered from the either of our exchange 2013 CAS servers fail to show up in the EAC/recipients/migration page.
If the local move request is done in the EAC the batch(es) show up just fine.
The more perplexing part is: while I was going through a 2010 hub (looking for a different issue) I noticed ALL the batches/mailbox moves that weren't showing up in the 2013 EAC were listed in the 2010 move request section.
I can't get any info on the moves in the 2010 console (because they're 2013 jobs) but i can get statistics and such from a 2013 shell.
    any ideas?

Are you running ex2013SP1 CU6? Can you try to update n check?
