Preservation of connections prior to upgrade from v9.3.x to v11.1.2

Hello again SV Gurus out there!!
I am contemplating upgrading the Smart View add-in on my PC from v9.3.1.6 to v11.1.2 and since I have quite a few connections already set up against our Prod and Non Prod environments, I would like to know whether it would be possible to preserve the list of connections somehow (as the v11.1.2 installation process requires an uninstall of v9.3.1.6 of SmartView).
Along the same lines as the above, I would like to know if the list of all connections is stored somewhere else aside from in a PC's registry (ie, as I was able to locate a few entries pertaining to SmartView under the following RegEdit hierarchy HKEY_CURRENT_USER > Software > Hyperion Solutions > HyperionSmartView)
Knowing the above would help enormously when deploying Smart View v11.1.2 to all users.

Preserving Comcast Connection with Leopard Upgrade

My computer is messed up somehow; I haven't been unable to upgrade to Leopard, and I can't even clone my hard drive. So I'm just copying one folder at a time to my external hard drive, after which I'm going to try Leopard's Erase and Install option.
One of the first things I'm going to want to set up if I get Leopard installed is my Internet connection. I have an account with Comcast. Does anyone here know what files or information I need to copy to make sure I can still connect via Comcast?
On another note, I've discovered that if I unplug my Comcast cord, I'm often still connected to the Internet. It appears that my computer has automatically logged into someone else's account...I guess. This stuff is still new for me.
It would be great if I could hitch a ride and not have to pay for service. But is it legal?

Nothing specific. Your Mac should detect the signal from your modem and you're there.

Your airport card is probably picking up someone's wireless router. If you are able to get on the internet via their wireless access then their router is open and not password protected. There are always discussions whether this is a legal or moral issue. I believe you should have your own service and not jump into someone else's just because they are stupid enough to leave the door open.

TLS Connectivity issues following upgrade from OS 7.0 to OS 7.1

We currently use BES 5 and MobileIron for our MDM. A brand new fleet of Curve 9360 were all working on both BES and MobileIron. BAttery life was a problem so we upgraded to os 7.1 which has added 3 days to the battery standby time however.........
Since moving to os 7.1 MobileIron has stopped working completely and we get the following log file entries
2012-08-01 07:35:43 DEBUG ConnMgr Starting TLS handshake...
2012-08-01 07:35:43 ERROR ConnMgr Failed to negotiate TLS due to IOException: net.rim.device.cldc.io.utility.MalformedURLException
This was working perfectly before os 7.1 - We ahve tried removing the handset from BES and using BIS with no improvement
Please help this is driving us mad

Login fails and IP address blocked when attempting to connect to PC upgraded from Win8.1 to Win10

Hi trying to connect to a PC recently upgraded to Win10-64. Login attempts return a "Login failed" message with Reconnect/Cancel options. After 3 (or so) attemtps returns message that too many login attemps and your IP address has been blocked. All my Win7-64 PCs connect ok. Win10 trouble?

I found out...Here's the thing: I had user credentials stored when updating to Win10. I removed this setting and logged in with Client with username and pwd, connection ok. I then went back and selected store credentials, and this time everything went well. So apparently it is a problem connecting with stored credentials after a Win10 upgrade. Or maybe it's just me.

Upgraded from CR XI to 2011 and now my old 2005 SQL OBDC Connection is gone

I upgraded from a working CR XI (v11.0) product to CR 2011 v14.0.2. But when I try to open an old report from CR XI, it prompts me to a OBDC (RDO) Data Source Selection Window and my old Database connection is not there to select.
I use SQL Native Client 2005.90.3042.00 for my old SQL Server DSN Config with CRXI. How do I select my old DSN Configuration so I can access my data?
If I run CR XI, I can still connect with the above mentioned configuration without any problems.

Hi Jeff,
That is strange.... I've never heard of that happening before. I have 100's of reports that have no problems. What OS are you using? CR 2011 fully supports ODBC and SQL Server 2005 and 2008. How did you create the DSN and is it a User DSN, System DSN or file DSN?
Actually we did not support the SQL Native Client in XI, you had to use the MDAC version "SQL Server" to connect. Not sure why it worked, likely because the SQL generated wasn't complex so it mapped to that driver easily.
There have been others who have discovered using the SQL Native 10 client that gets installed with SQL Server 2008 Client Tools works great for both 2005 and 2008. You can download it from MS's site, get the 32 bit version. CR 2011 is still a 32 bit application.
It does require you to update your DSN to the Native 10 driver, update, verify and save your old reports also to get them to the new CR 2011 file format.

Remote Desktop Connection stop working after upgrade from 10.5.8 to 10.6.1

I too could not connect to a W2K3 server with RDC 2.0.1 after upgrading from Mac OS X, 10.5.8 to 10.6/10.6.1. I have another Mac which is on 10.5.8 and connect fine with the same version of RDC 2.0.1 as well as other PC with Terminal Service Clients.
There is no change on the server side. I have uninstalled and reinstalled RDC 2.0.1 several time and it did not resolve the issue. To rule out firewall/network, I tested with another remote desktop application called CoRD (for Mac) on the same laptop running SL 10.6.1 and it connected to the same W2K3 server fine.
One thing that is worth mentioning (in my case), when it does not connect, RDC totally quit (not running anymore. Not minimize, no cannot connect error message, no little dot on the Dock for RDC, nothing) right after I put in the credential in. When looking at the log entries that are related to RDC in the Console application, I see the following

Doing some more troubleshooting after my post above as I saw a couple of entries referencing Stop Light keep popping up in the log of the Console. I removed Stoplight and Cocoa Gesture (for good meausre) and RDC 2.0.1 started working. I think it is Stop Light which causes RDC stop working, but I don't have to time right now to put Cocoa Gesture back to confirm that. I might if I have the time or post here if you have Stop Light installed as well and removing it resolved the RDC issue for you.

Unity Connection Upgrade from 8.6.2 to 9.1 latest version

Am planning to Upgrade my CUC(Unity Connection) from 8.6.2 to 9.1 latest version, having my Call manager in the same version 8.6.2. I will upgrade my Call Manager from 8.6.2 to 9.X later.
Hope i can upgrade my CUC first.
I need some info like,
1) Am not getting the image to download which can upgrade from 8.6.2 to 9.1 latest version directly. Should i have to move to 9.0 first and then to 9.1 ??
2) Is their any pre cautions need to be taken care/ well known issues during the upgrade.
3) Also, hope licensing get migrated automatically (no need to have extra efforts)
4) Advantages of Moving to 9.x wrt to features compared to 8.6.

None of these issues are causing the error in DW CS6. We have double checked all of them and we have everything exactly right. Also I have exactly the same SiteSetup in DW CS4 and that works perfectly well. Could there must be factor in 6 that didn't exist in 4? Something that isnt in the SiteSetup but in some hidden dialog box ?
I can also upload to my host using Fetch, a third party FTP. And as I said DW CS4 works fine. So the problem is not with my host, its with DW CS6 in particular.

Thank you Jon, that fixed it perfectly. You have saved me from going crazy. The only difference I see now is in "Server Name" it changed what I had entered (my ftp address) to "Remote Server"; which seems odd -- but it works! Although I know there maybe also some other dialog box I have never seen
Of course I saw that menu item "Import" and but I thought thats obviously not for me: "Why would I want to import an entire website?". I did not however see "Export the selected site" for thats only a tiny icon in the footer. However I would have thought the same: "Why would I want to export my entire website?".
An observation: I've seen this problem in a lot of Adobe software, the menu-names of items are obscure, non descriptive. What would be better would be for the menu names or popups to say "Export Site Setup settings" and "Import Site Setup settings"

Recently we upgraded from oracle 9i to 10g.
We are using Oracle JDBC Driver version - 10.1.0.5.0 .
In the application, when RMI server starts, the connectionpool (developed using stack) will be filled with 10 instances of fresh connections.
After keeping the RMI server idle for some time ( >24 hours ) , the first transaction sent to the Database (using the connection instance popped out from stack(connectionpool) ) terminates with following exception and from the second transaction onwards everything works normally.

I attempted several upgrades and we decided it was better to implement the content under 10g fresh rather than attempt an upgrade.
After 3-5 attempts through patching non of them provided us with re-produceable steps and we had different errors each time - mind you this was a few months back after initial release of upgrade patches.

Cannot connect to internet after upgrade from 10.7.4 to 10.7.5

I have a new iMac and connect to internet with a data card (modem) Huawei E303.
It worked fine until after the upgrade from 10.7.4 to 10.7.5.
Now I can connect but there is no measurable signal. Other computers work using the same data card.

System Preferences>Network, click on the little gear at the bottom next to the + & - icons, (unlock lock first if locked), choose Set Service Order.
The interface that connects to the Internet should be dragged to the top of the list.
For 10.5/10.6/10.7, System Preferences>Network, unlock the lock if need be, highlight the Interface you use to connect to Internet, click on the advanced button, click on the DNS tab, click on the little plus icon, then add these numbers...

How to upgrade from trial connect 9 version with elearning features?

Please advise how i upgrade from my current trial version of Connect 9 to the full version with elearning features.
I see that the public pricing is without the elearning features, so for me this is no good as i need to host courses. The email address of [email protected] is invalid and bounces back and the phone line helpers are unable to provide information to help.
I cannot find costings or online download options anywhere

Upgrade from eprint to hp connected - can't drag and drop apps to arrange them like I did before!

I upgraded from eprint to HP Connected today. Now it won't let me back into eprint website (and, yes, I would not have gone back if something didn't work right at hp connected).
I could drag and drop the placement of my apps to arrange them as I want them on the printer display touchscreen at eprint. However, I can't drag or drop anything at hp connected and I don't see any help on managing the placement of apps on your printer.
How can this be done? It was easy before - just drag and drop and website updated printer. I have a officejet 7610.

Thanks for trying but your answer is incorrect, according to an email I received today from HP Connected:
"I have reviewed your email. I understand that you have questions related to rearranging the order of the apps on the printer. I know this can be frustrating, and I want you to know you're certainly valuable to us and I want to do everything possible to ensure your complete satisfaction. The following information should provide the answers you need:
1) Unfortunately when HP launched the new website (www.hpconnected.com) they did not include a method of rearranging the apps on the printer. They may include this feature in a future update, however as this time it is not available.
2) If you have made the upgrade from eprintcenter to HP Connected you do not have the option of returning. Eprintcenter is in the process of being eliminated and unfortunately retuning to the old site is not possible."
I hope <<S-O-O-N>> HP fixes this new website -- it's crazy to take away any controls like this from their customers and not either embellish them or at least leave them be.
I may take this 7610 OJ back for a new Brother 11x17 all-in-one --- they look nice )
