Preventive points -- record keeping

Hi gurus
I am SD consultant and i am new to PM.
First Thing
"Actual Mainenance"
We are using PM , we are creating Maintenance plans ( anuals, monthly), by giving maintenance task list on functional locations. it automaticly creates notification and maintenance order. we are recording every thing spares,costs and all other things on acutual basis. every things is according to the SAP best practices.
Second Thing
In addition to First thing, we have a new requirment from user side, we want to just Log the Critical preventive maintenance points. like
1) check oil level / make up ( check to be daily )
2) Abnormal sound of corbon dosing pump ( check to be weekly).
3) abnormal sound of motors ( daily)
4) filter cleaning / abnormal sound of motrs and blowers ( monthly)
Requirement is user check the monitoring points physically. and just Log in the SAP system ( this will be not concerned with actual maintenance plans, order etc). is it ok or not . if not what is the reason . and some remarks ( a text statment ).
Just we want to keep the record through system ,wheather Plant maintance peoples has completed the monitoring points . daily for daily. weekly for weekly. if he has not recorded in the system. then higher manager can purse.
User is suppose to be record monitoring acitivites on interval basis ( daily, weekly, monthly) .
We about you think about following solution* , Expert opnion required.
1) Creating the maintenance task list for functional location . ( T. code :
IA05/IA06) by taking each critical point as operation in task list. And assign maintenance strategy ( daily, weekly, monthly).
2) Creating maintenance plan with the same package defined the in the tasks List ( IP42)
3) Creating measuring point with respective to functional location. ( Ik01)
4) Create measuring document for measuring point ( Ik11)
5) Schedule the Plan ( IP10)
6) Check the plan Schedule. ( IP24)
For operation- critical points , we will assign the packages ( according to the checking cycle like daily, weekly etc), when we do scheduling the, the order will come daily.
Whenever the concerned user physically check the critical point , found ok, user will close the order, And if he delays the checking cycle time, it can be seen in IP10 by higher authorities.
Regards\Adnan

hi
what ever you have suggested is good ,but i don't understand what the exact user requirement because of the comments you specified
also for the first query you can follow the process you have specified.
And for the second query you can suggest by creating a separate maintenance plan category which have call object as Notification (since only activity is followed) and assign the task to the notification which will specify the task to be performed.
Unless the task is completed you cannot able to close the notification.

  • Can you add a past event Into iCal?  I want to do this for record keeping.

    I want to add past events to my icalendar for record keeping. When I try it disappears right after I add.  Can I do this?

    You don't mention your OS or iCal versions but, based on my own OSX.6.8 and iCal v4.0.4 (1395.7) then go to ...
    iCal > Preferences > Advanced
    ... and look at the Option for Delete events n days after they have passed and ensure that either the option is not checked (which should keep past events for ever) or set to the number of days after which you are happy that past events get deleted.
    Other parameters can also be set for the treatment of To Do items within that same preference panel.
    I guess, although I do not know, that other versions of iCal and Calendar have similar options somewhere within user customisation.

  • DNS, A Record (Machine Record) & Pointer Record (PTR)

    Hi,
    When I contacted my ISP to have the Pointer Record (PTR) & A Record (Machine Record) assigned to my static IP address, I think the technician assigned the A Record as "www.example.com". When I installed SLS on my server, I gave it the name of "macserver.example.com".
    I'm now having some problems setting up my users services and think maybe the A Record assigned by the ISP should have been named "macserver.example.com". Am I correct? And, if so, when I contact the ISP am I using the proper terms? And is there anything else that I should let the ISP know?
    TIA
    John

    Hi,
    I assume your ISP contacted your local top level domain (registrar) and made the necessary changes, creating a name server (NS) for your IP. I don't understand though... do you have a registered domain? Like something.com or whatever? Because example.com is NOT a real domain.
    If you only need a DNS system for the local network you don't need such a domain. You can set whatever DNS name for your server if that is the case.

  • How to prevent duplicate records

    Hello all,
    This is just a general query. How do we prevent duplicate records at data target level(ODS/InfoCube).
    Thanks
    S N

    Hi,
    for ODS you can either specify in settings option "unique records" (only first combination of keys is saved, second one throws error message) or you can define "overwrite" for update rules to ODS (last occurrence of record is saved).
    For InfoCubes I think there isn't such setting and there is no possibility of overwriting existing records. So you have to load first to an ODS object to ensure unique records and update from ODS to InfoCube.

  • Points to keep in Mind

    We are starting to build our File to IDOC scenario.
    When I build this interface what are all the Points that I need to keep in mind to avoid any surprises at the end.
    Thanks.

    Hi Rohini,
    Based on the scenario, these are some of the points that you could keep in mind:-
    >With respect to content conversion - A sub structure must always be shown in exactly one line of the text document. The content conversion cannot create a nested structure. If you have a nested structure bring it down to a flat structure first.Content conversion is possible only till level three.
    >You can post the data into the R/3 system by either using BAPIs, RFCs, IDocs or proxies.
    >Since you have to validate and post the invalid files as error files, I think you will also have to use a bpm. You could have otherwise used adapter module processing for simple file validation. Check if you are going to use a switch in the bpm.
    >One of the most common errors that you face while using a switch is the return code=99 problem.

  • Prevent Duplicate records in Report

    I have the following 2 records...
    PART_EIPN -------|NOMEN--|FMC | PDT | PDT_DESC---------------|LOG_NO
    70107-28400-043 | BIFILAR | 16 ++| A23 | BIFILAR ASSEMBLY |+ 18
    70107-28400-043 | BIFILAR | 16 ++| A23 | BIFILAR ASSEMBLY |+ 23
    How can I have report only print one record and have under log_no print 18,23
    Is there anyway I can prevent the 2nd record from print but still display the 2 log_no (18,23) (+) are not part of record... just for formatting purposes for this forum

    Sorry I missed something.
    Please confirm that this data:
    PART_EIPN -------|NOMEN--|FMC | PDT | PDT_DESC---------------|LOG_NO
    70107-28400-043 | BIFILAR | 16 ++| A23 | BIFILAR ASSEMBLY |+ 18
    70107-28400-043 | BIFILAR | 16 ++| A23 | BIFILAR ASSEMBLY |+ 23
    is produced by this query?
    Select f.model,f.part_eipn,f.nomen,e.FMC,s.PDT,p.PDT_DESC,e.log_no
    from GENFRAC_r_part_EIpn f, event_log e,event_status s,r_pdt p
    where s.pdt = :pdt
    and s.pdt(+) = p.PDT_CODE
    and p.model = 'PBLH60'
    and f.PART_EIPN = e.EIPN
    and e.log_no = s.log_no
    and f.model = 'PBLH60'
    and e.model = 'PBLH60'
    and s.model = 'PBLH60'
    order by fmc
    e.log_no last colum
    If this is not true then what I need to help you is one query(maybe you could create a view), that produces the data that is currently in your report, then getting the log_no's on one line is not a problem.

  • Prevent Duplicate Record with Validation

    Hello,
    Can someone suggest to me how I can check a form such that it does not have a duplicate record, when a user either saves or creates the record?
    In particular, I am looking at 2 fields in a record as the criterai for determine duplicity:
    select PEOPLE_ID, DEPT_ID
    from AN_PEOPLEDEPT
    where PEOPLE_ID = :P12_PEOPLE_ID and
    DEPT_ID = :P12_DEPT_ID
    It would be nice to know how to make this work with only one validation in a page definition.
    Thank you for your comments.
    Regards,
    Colin.

    1. Create a validation.
    2. Choose "Page Level"
    3. Choose "SQL"
    4. Choose "Exists"
    5. Give it a name and choose "Inline in notification"
    6. Enter your query, simaler to the one I posted before but using your table name and your items
    That's it. Essentially, you can create validations that display the error next to the item (won't work for you as it's just one item), display the error on an error page forcing the user to go back a page to edit the form (not ideal), or in the Notification area at the top of the page (as determined by your page template). The latter is the one your want. The validation will query your table based on the values of your two items. If there is a row that matches the values of the 2 items, then it will show the form again with an error message at the top. Just try following the steps I detailed above. After you create a validation or two, this should make sense.
    Please listen to my advice about adding a unique index on the table as well. An ORA-XXXX error is ugly which is why I'm glad you're doing it with an HTML DB validation too, but the unique index will insure that you NEVER have dupes in your table. I can't stress this enough. Think about the check engine light on a modern car. It gives you a "pretty" reminder that something is wrong (low oil, too hot), but will typically shut the engine down before any real damage is done. We want the friendly reminder so we can get it to a mechanic, but the real safe-guard is under the covers and prevents any real damage from occuring, even if people ignore the warning light (no "wife ignoring the low oil light" jokes here please).

  • Prevent duplicate records?

    hi
    can any one tell me
    how can i prevent the user from typing duplicate records into a tabular form? which trigger should i use?and how to do that?
    and also how to restrict inserting duplicate records into my table throw a code which will be in my form.

    Kevin in his post said
    >>
    Although you cannot normally read other records in a multi row block without navigating to them, I have found a cunning method to do this validation using the power of calculation properties. You need three extra hidden fields, two of which have calculation properties, and a little function. (If you want to see how it works, try making the hidden fields visible).
    Form program unit:
    function COMPARISON (in1 number, in2 number) is
    if in1 = in2 then
    return(1);
    else
    return(0);
    end if;
    end;
    3 new hidden fields:
    CONTROL.PK_COPY
    DATABLOCK.MATCH_FOUND
    calculation mode: formula
    formula: COMPARISON(:control.PK_COPY, :datablock.PK)
    CONTROL.NUMBER_OF_MATCHES
    calculation_mode: summary
    summary_function: Sum
    summarised_block: DATABLOCK
    summarised_item: MATCH_FOUND
    WHEN_VALIDATE_ITEM on DATABLOCK.PK
    :control.pk_copy := :datablock.pk;
    if :control.number_of_matches > 1 then
    message('matching key found');
    end if;
    (DATABLOCK must have query_all_records = TRUE)
    <<
    what do i have to name my fields and what to do in each field?
    becuase i got lost in what Kevin said.
    please answer me!

  • I restore my iPhone from an old Backup in iTunes.  The Contacts get overwritten by those in iCloud immediately.  How do I prevent this and keep my old contacts?

    I restore an old Backup from iTunes to my iPhone 4.  The contacts are immediately overwritten by those in iCloud.  How do I prevent iCloud contact list over writing the contact list restored from the iTunes Backup?

    Yes you can erase the drive and reinstall OS 10.6 from the original disk.
    1. Put the disk in and restart the computer while holding the C key down. (The letter C.)
    2. When the computer boots you will see the beginning of the OS installation, and have to select a language.
    3. On the next screen there is a menu bar. Click Utilities on the menu bar and select Disk Utility.
    4. When DU is running, select the hard drive in the left hand column, format should be Mac OS extended journaled, then click Erase.
    5. When that task is done, quit DU and proceed with the installation. It will take some time.
    6. The computer will restart after the installation is completed and show you an awful noisy welcoming screen.
    Then you have to enter information about yourself.
    7. Run Software update to get to OS 10.6.8.
    Now you can go to the App store and find your previous purchases. You will not have to pay for them again. And you do not have install them one at a time. If for example you want 10.9, and your computer can handle it, go directly to 10.9.1 from 10.6.8.

  • TS3451 Can't record keeps posting "DISK TO SLOW"

    Trying to record vocals in garage band, and Can't be as soon as I hit the record button posting appears saying DISK TOO SLOW.
    and then ask me to continue and there no recording.

    Try this. Find your hard disk. Highlight it and the do a Get Info (command-I). Look at the bottom of the resulting window. Find Ownership and Permissions. Look at the details. Unlock the lock if needed. Set it to System and do it for all enclosed items. See if that helps.
    A shot in the dark...but an educated guess (since permission related error message).
