Price Match Contract Phones - Call Mobile Back Office

I went into my local Best Buy yesterday to purchase a new iPhone and asked to have it price matched with Walmart's $50 off deal. I was told that they do not price match contract phones. I told them that I had read on the Best Buy Forums that they do, but they refused to give me the price match. I went ahead and purchased the phone thinking I may be wrong.
After I left, I looked up the forums again and confirmed that others had asked and the moderators said they would price match. So, I called 1-800-BESTBUY. The first person I spoke with said the same thing - no price match. I told her about the forums and she put me on hold and confirmed with her manager that they will not price match contract phones. I then pointed out the forums and she pulled it up so we could look at them together. She went and spoke with her manager again and they finally agreed that they could price match. She then transferred me to mobile sales (45 minutes later). Mobile sales said they would not be able to help me and transferred me to Mobile Back Office.
At this point I had been on the phone for 1 hour and 13 minutes. Finally, Mobile Back Office confidently told me that they do offer price match on contract phones from local retailers; e.g. Walmart. I was so relieved...but then he said I would have to go back in the store to have the price match honored since that is where I purchased the phone. But he said the store associate could call 1-800-BESTBUY and ask for the Mobile Back Office to confirm the price match policy if they have questions. So, I guess I will be headed back in the store again tomorrow.
Moral of the story? If your local store tells you they won't do the price match on contract phones...save yourself an hour and 15 minutes and just have them call and speak to Mobile Back Office.

Greetings mcharman,
I hope you are enjoying your new iPhone! I’m sorry to hear you had such difficulties with price matching Wal-Mart. After receiving various answers, I can imagine you might be a bit confused on how to request a price match.
Generally speaking, we should price match contract phones that are sold at local retailers, although contract phones sold by online retailers would be excluded. You may review this via our Price Match Guarantee page on BestBuy.com.
That being said, while we do price match contract phones (as long as it's available at a local competitor) there are times where the competitor's sale may have terms and conditions that ultimately result in Best Buy not being able to match their advertised price. You may wish to consult a manager at your local store for further consideration on the price match.
Sincerely,

  • CAD Agent Desktop - Making 2nd call to Back office staff

    Hi All,
    Does anyone have a solution to the following question from a customer?
    “Whilst an agent is talking to a caller, it would appear that the only option available to make a second call at the same time ie. in the case where a member of call centre staff wishes to talk to the back office team whilst the customer is on hold, the agent can put the caller on hold using CAD, however they would need to press the “New Call” button on the physical telephone to dial the 2nd number as the “Make Call” feature is not available within CAD (whist the call is on hold).
    The agent will frequently make a 2nd call whilst on the phone to a customer. Not being able to use CAD to make this second call will cause a lot of confusion! Is there any way around this problem?”
    I know that the ‘make call’ button is disabled when the agent is in a ready state, so how do they make a 2nd call if need? I suppose they could place the caller on hold and go not ready but I’m not sure if CAD allows this (I’m away from a test lab to check) and this would affect the agent stats.
    Or perhaps they could initiate a supervised transfer discuss what they need to with the back office staff member then cancel the transfer and use the alternate button to switch between caller and back office staff?
    Any suggestions would be grateful.
    Thanks Chris

    Using a supervised transfer and then cancelling out of it is the only option with CAD for now. I suggest that you submit a feature request through your Cisco AM to resolve this.

  • Redirect the existing user's call to back office user by cross checking a Txt/Xml file on UCCX Scripting

    I need some help on following scenario.
    I have a customer UCCX 9 and When a new customer calls the contact center via a main number (eg:02089772111) to open an account or register themselves, caller will go through all the necessary welcome message …. And to an agent as normal
    Then the agent collects all the relevant informations (Name, address, tel-number (07929768543), etc) and records it in to a database
    And also the agent finally assign the customer to an internal person (eg: John on extension 3001 (not an agent)) and complete the account registration, like cisco assigning a TAC engineer to a case opener.
    Then the customer calls again to inquire anything in the future ( after opening an account) using the same phone (07929768543) on account and to the main number (eg:02089772111), caller should hear all the greeting, etc…like a first time caller and this time it should go to John on extension 3001 directly rather than to an agent.
    Is this possible with UCCX, can we add a file (xml or text) to script and update it with customer number and back office user extension to perform this diversion by collecting caller number and checking the file and send it to internal person. by updating this file real time by an agent or in a daily or weekly basis by a supervisor by modifying this txt/xml or may be a DataBase file.
    Thanks
    Shameer

    Shameer,
    Your XML file could look something like this:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="ISO-8859-1" ?>
    <Numbers>
    <ANI="07929768200">
         <Ext>2001</Ext>
    </ANI>
    <ANI="02089772144">
         <Ext>2002</Ext>
    </ANI>
    </Numbers>
    You would then have to use the ANI of the caller to loop through the XML file. This would return the extension of the internal resource. They you would just use a call transfer step to connect the two together.
    HTH,
    Adam

    Edit: fixed XML code. I was unaware that you can't have numbers as element names

  • Missed calls - a missed call is shown on the screen when the phone is locked. I slide the icon an the phone calls the back to the missed number. The phone still show a missed no. It should clear the icon since I obviously noted the missed call. Any fixes?

    Ok, a wish for the next iOS release, just a small anoying thing.
    Scenario:
    I have a missed call, the screen is locked. The name of the caller shows up on the screen, I slide the phone icon and phone back.
    When I've ended the call there is still a notification of a missed call, i.e. the same missed call that I just called back. To clear the missed call red circle icon on the phone icon (in the unlocked state and the notification on the locked screen) I must open the missed call list. Then it clears.
    My wish is that the phone understands that it should clear that missed call after I returned the call since I have obviously noted it.
    -> Is this something apple will update or is there a setting that I could change?
    /Erik

    You have to return the call via the recent list or tap the red missed call entry in recent list otherwise even a hundred calls won't turn the balloon off.

  • My frustrating story with Price Match and Contracts.

    So i'll break this down by trip to Best Buy and calls. Trip 1: Best Buy tells me I cant get a Contract and only can get Edge. Also say they cant Price Match. Call 1: I call the same store I was just in and was informed that they "Push for the Edge program but 2 year contracts are availabl. Trip 2: I return to the Best Buy and am instantly informed that I can get a contract but they will not price match. Online posting 1: I am informed that I can price match but only if its not an Online retailer. (This store is in the same plaza as the store im trying to price match with) so I have a green light to get the phones pricematched  Trip 3: I am told that You cannot get a new 2 year contract through Best Buy and can only do upgrades now.
    Call 2 (corporate number) I am told that I can only get Edge program again until I tell them that i was already informed that i did not need to get Edge. They then tell me They cant price match contracts until i tell them what i was told by the online rep. I was then told i needed to enter my info and they will store my complaint into the system so if i go back to the store i can get a new 2 year contract with price match with no problem. I asked 3 times to make sure i could do this before i went to the store.  Trip 3: I get to the store and they tell me there is nowhere they can look up this info that was stored into the computer and there is nothing they can do. I finallly convince them to call and they got the information. They then told me they could finally Price Match the nearby Target.... but not on a contract. Each of these trips was 30 miles away. 60 mile round trip. I drove 180 miles to be repeatedly lied to by Best Buy.Each person had a different story.
    They have offers online for 2 year contracts that get a $100 gift card. How can they offer a gift card to new members of Verizon if they cant start a new contract and can only do upgrades. Nowhere in the "Price match" details does it say they cannot do contracts. When i asked each person about this they quoted "You cannot match an online retailer." I NEVER tried to match an online retailer! I give up on Best Buy and I will be taking my business to Walmart from now on. This price match is all a lie and NOBODY in the company at any level was of any help during this. If only i could get reimbursed for my tank of gas I wasted.

    Hello TOMINATOR,
    Best Buy's Price Match Guarantee is a great way to ensure that you get the best possible price on exciting products. I was gratified to read that you were attempting to avail yourself of it, but quite disheartened by how your request for a price match was greeted at the store. Certainly we did not set out to disappoint you and I apologize sincerely for having done so.
    Our store associates should complete any price match request from you or our other customers as long as it in alignment with our requirements (see link above). While we do require that our competitor be in stock, the amount of the discount should never be an issue. After your interaction with the appliances associate, did you speak to a manager about his having declined your request? At what store did this occur?
    Please know that I'm very grateful that you wrote to us with your concerns and shared your feedback with us.

  • Price Match - Rude General Manager

    I called Best Buy store (South Brunswick NJ
    4180 Us Hwy 1. Ste 400c., MonmouthJunction, NJ) about price match with Walmart for IPhone 6 ATT contract phone today and the customer service rep at the store after checking with Mobile asked me the price at Walmart and I told $229. Then she said they will honor the price. So I decided to visit the store which was 25 miles away and when I got there I was told they won't do price matching in a very rude manner. The general manager was standing right there and he asked me if I know the name of the person I spoke to and I said no. Then he said they cannot do anything. So I walked up to the customer service and informed them about this confusion and fortunately the lady I was explaining this turned out to be the one who promised me about the price match over phone. So she decided to help and walked me
    Over to the mobile department again and the general manager was still there. So she explained to the manager about the price match and he behaved very rudely to the employee also. He said I'm the highest authority here and his word is final and he just ignored me. I felt really bad and the employee apoligized to me and she confirmed that they told her earlier that they will honor the price.
    I don't mind if they cannot honor the price as may be it was a mistake but the such a rude behavior from a general manager is simply unacceptable.

    Hi Taiseer786,
    I truly am sorry that you had to drive to this store just to be turned away, and every employee of Best Buy should always be professional when interacting with our customers. We do match lower prices on contract phones found at a local competitor. We do not match lower prices on contract phones at online retailers.
    A local competitor is defined as a retail competitor located within a 25 mile radius of the Best Buy store the price match is being requested at. I have emailed this store’s management asking for clarification as to why you were denied this price match.
    Thanks for posting,

  • Price match is basically a scam

    Best Buy's Price Match Guarantee is basically a scam.  I am not a lawyer, but the process of getting a price match is so difficult that it may as well not exist.  While I have received price matches in the past, they have required multiple phone calls, speaking with multiple people.  Last week, I called right after my order was placed, and almost a week later, nothing.  When I called in again, I was placed on hold for 10 or 15 minutes, only to be told that it was ignored and that the agent would resend the request.  I  would then need to wait another 72 hours to receive my adjustment.  So, I am still waiting.
    If you're going to have a price match policy, once you determine the item purchased is covered, don't try to trick the customer by forcing to wait days just to see whether the request that was approved was ignored.  I should not have to chase after you for you to follow your own policy (find matching item, call, and then get the price match, and not call, wait a wait, call, wait three days...).

    Hello danielborsuk,
    Our Price Match Guarantee is a great way to ensure that you get the best price on a product and still have all of the advantages of purchasing from Best Buy. It was with disheartenment that I read of your trials in attempting to take advantage of our program. Certainly this is not the experience we wish you to have and I apologize for your having to cope with a situation that is more complex than it should be.
    Using the information you provided when you signed up for Best Buy Unboxed, I was able to locate your most recent interactions with us and have confirmed that the action that was promised on your last contact has been taken. It is my hope that your next request will come off far more smoothly. Please let us know how it goes.
    Please know that I am grateful for the valuable feedback you've provided on our process. Without it, we cannot improve in ways that are meaningful to you and our other customers.

  • None of my Best Buys will price match!

    I'm trying to get a Galaxy Note 2. Amazon.com and Walmart.com have it for 249.99. Neither of my Best Buys around me will price match the phone, they wont even look at the promotion listed on the website. What should I do?

    So you are not following your own policy.....
    Customers can receive a price match on the above promotions by providing information about a competitor's price either with a Best Buy employee in our Stores or by calling 1-888-BEST BUY (1-888-237-8289). On qualifying products, Best Buy will then verify pricing to complete the price match.
    Valid for purchases made between October 7, 2012 - November 17, 2012 and November 27, 2012 - December 24, 2012. Best Buy may amend these terms at any time. All other terms and conditions of the Best Buy Price Match Guarantee apply.

  • Re: Price matching policy for mobile phones sold with a contract

    Today I called my local store and they said they will not price match a contract price on a mobile phone.  When I look online, the contract price had a price guarantee.

    Hello ziyulu,
    Cell phones have almost become a necessity in today’s world, so I’m all for getting one at the best price possible. It sounds like there was some confusion regarding our Price Match Guarantee (PMG) for the contract phone you were considering, and I’m sorry for any misinformation our store associates may have provided you.
    While it’s true you may price match a contract phone, we are unable to accept price matches from any online competitor in accordance with our PMG. This means any price match request must be from a retail competitor who has a store location within 25 miles of your local Best Buy.
    What particular phone are you looking to purchase? Are you attempting to price match a local competitor?
    I hope to hear from you soon,

  • Any way to price match something online without going through the phone system shuffle?

    I ask because right now Amazon has the original Star Trek series 3 season boxset on Blu-Ray for $59.99 on sale. It's $135.99 on the BestBuy.com website.
    I already asked in store if they could order it from the website and then do some sort of match that way while ordering it. But apparently that isn't possible.
    The page for the product on Amazon is HERE: {removed per forum guidelines}
    As you can see the price is clearly marked $59.99 at the moment.
    I just know what kind of a phone system menu dance I had to go through the one other time I tried getting something matched from an online price for something that wasn't available in store for pickup. It took no less than 5-6 reps, getting hung up on 3-4x and having to re-explain what I wanted multiple times to those multiple reps before it finally got processed.
    Anyway, any ideas on how to do this in an online form without requiring doing the phone system shuffle for 2 hours?

    Good morning CheapestGamer,
    Thank you for posting your question to the forum!
    As RealGeorgeW mentioned, you would need to call into 1-888-BestBuy (1-888-237-8289) to request a price match when a BestBuy.com order is involved.  Depending on the time of the day or year, there could possibly be a slightly longer than normal hold time when calling in; however, it should not take two hours to reach the correct department and make a price match request.  If it ever feels like you are having a difficult time while trying to request a price match, please feel free to post to the forum and we will see what we can do to help.

    I hope you have a great day.

  • 8961 phone having issue receiving and calling mobile phone

    Ext XXX is having issue receiving and calling mobile phone. It stated that 'Download Status -Failed' attached is the screenshot of the error in Cisco Unified CM Administration. Any idea where to look into?
    If i want to grab the log, should be from Trace & Log Central under CUCM?

    Phone goes "offline" for about 7-10 minutes at a time (every couple of hours) usually in the afternoon (near ~60% charge).
    In an office most of the day with coverage going from 4 bars to 0 bars every few minutes or so.  I never miss or drop a call though given the appearance of erattic signal. RSSI usually -83.  EvDO and 1x will flicker on and off througout the day.  WiFi is on all the time with WPA2.  Bluetooth is on without anything connected.  I will sometimes get the issue if I wander out of WiFi range (out for lunch)
    Reseting the phone will clear the problem.  Toggling the Airplane, WiFi, and Bluetooth on/off dont clear the problem.
    I have:
    - Exchange calendar setup with owa.mailseat.com (I believe they have Exchange 2003)
    - Google standard calendar (personal)
    - Google standard shared calendar (wifes)
    My wife has a Pre as well and to my knowledge has never had the phone offline problem. (I would certainly hear about it if she did )
    She has:
    - Google standard calendar (personal)
    - Google standard shared calendar (mine)
    * No exchage setup.

  • When I swipe phone to open, and hit the phone icon, then make a call, most times it says "calling mobile" but then nothing happens.

    Same thing here.  I'm getting very frustrated.  When I swipe phone to open, and hit the phone icon, then make a call, most times it says "calling mobile" but then nothing happens.  Then I try to end the call and hit the END button.  Sure, it looks like the call disconnected, but as soon as I try to make another call, I see the same screen (the first called) and the words "calling mobile".  The only way I can rememdy this, naturally, is powering off and restarting.  But, c'mon...$300 for a phone that you have to power down between calls???
    I've got the latest OS update, no jailbreak, or anything exotic on my 4s.  What's more, when I try to make a call 2 out of 3 times, the dumb SIRI opens up and stops me from making the call.  (and, yes, I have very carefully checked my process that I am not intentionally activating SIRI with my cheek.)
    Again, $300 for all this in just trying to make a call?

    reset your phonr by pressing the home and sleep buttons until you see the Apple logo, ignoring the slider. Takes about 5-15 secs of button holding and you won't lose any data or settings.
