Primavera 6

First off, I am new to Primavera, I know little to nothing about it so far; I acquired supporting it with a new job.  With that said, my users want me to install the (4) licenses that have been purchased and use them in a Citrix environment.  I need to know if this is legal, meaning, I have 6 total users and only 4 licenses...not all 6 users need to use it at the same time but is it even feasible to do like that?  I have done some research and it sounds to me like it is a one user...one license...one database kind of thing.  Can multiple users share a combined database or is it a one to one ratio (like a stand alone install just accessed via Citrix)?
To all that answer...thank you in advance!
Kim

Are you able to run it on the same schedules they are trying to run it on? There is not much out there on this error code and you may need to submit a ticket for Oracle Support. I think it has to do with the schedule is trying to start activities during non-work time.
Work is defined as:
Monday through Friday, 8 Hrs Per day, starting at 8:00 am with no work from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm
Edge conditions exist at: 8:00 am, 12:00 pm, 1:00 pm and 5:00 pm
Scheduling is performed down to the minute.  Therefore, assign the Finish Milestone to a 24 hour calendar.
Examples and adjustments using the above work time schedule:
No remaining work can have a scheduled Start on a time where the next (later) minute falls on non-work. So in the above example, valid start times are 8:00 am to11:59 am and 1:00 pm to 4:59 pm . Invalid start times would be 12:00 pm to12:59 pm and 5:00 pm to 7:59 am.
Finishes are the opposite: Valid finish times must have the preceding minute be defined as work time. Staying with the example above, valid finish times are: 8:01 am to12:00 pm and 1:01 pm to 5:00 pm.
Invalid start/finishes should move forward on the forward pass and backward on the backward pass to the next valid work time.
When a point in time is a valid start and valid stop time then the successor task start will be the same time as the predecessor finish i.e.: Predecessor finishes 8:15 am with a FS relationship to Successor starts at 8:15 am.

  • Primavera Web services does not work properly when I move the database.

    I am using primavera web services to integrate a winform application (using c#) with primavera. It was successful with my original database, but when I decided to move my database to another server ( It is a sql server 2005 database and I use backup/restore to move database to new server). I changed the database configuration for the webservices so that it refers to the new database on the new server.
    I used the following code to login to webservices:
                    AuthenticationService authService = new AuthenticationService( );
                    authService.CookieContainer = new System.Net.CookieContainer( );
                    authService.Url = _P6wsAuthenticationService;
                    Login loginObj = new Login( );
                    loginObj.UserName = pv_Username;
                    loginObj.Password = pv_Password;
                    loginObj.DatabaseInstanceId = 1;
                    loginObj.DatabaseInstanceIdSpecified = true;
                    loginObj.VerboseFaults = true;
                    loginObj.VerboseFaultsSpecified = true;
                    LoginResponse loginReturn = authService.Login( loginObj );
                    cookieContainer = authService.CookieContainer;
                   ReadDatabaseInstancesResponseDatabaseInstance[] readdbInstances = authService.ReadDatabaseInstances("");
    the loginResponse for the new server is true and it shows the db properties correctly in readdbInstances. But when I try to read projects from database it returns nothing. It doesn't give me any error message just the response message is null.
    Could anybody help me with this issue?
    Thank you

  • Unable to configure BI Publisher report with Primavera Unifier

    Hello Friends,
    We have installed Primavera Unifier 9.14 release on one Linux machine and OBIEE 11.1.1.7.0 is installed on another Linux machine.
    For configuration, we shared OBIEE installed folder with the Primavera Linux machine.We followed all the steps that are mentioned in the configuration guide for OBIEE(BI Publisher) with Unifier.
    While configuring BI Publisher Reports with Unifier,we are getting following error: Test connection failed.

  • Error while installing primavera p6.7

    hi i am facing error while installing primavera p6.7
    error "pm database creation failed.contact support" also "mm database creation failed.contact support"
    i saied maybe from my system i tried on other pc put still same
    then i saied maybe from version which i have then i got a new from friend still same
    help me i am using windows xp sp2

    It appears that for some reason the Oracle XE database installation is failing. I suspect you may get a more informative error if you try manually install Oracle XE. [http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/database/xe/index.html] l)
    The other alternative is to download MS SQL Server Express and create the schema on this DB server platform as opposed to Oracle XE. For stand-alone installations I personally find MS SQL much easier to install and manage. [http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=31711d5d-725c-4afa-9d65-e4465cdff1e7&displaylang=en] )
    Refer to the admin guide or Knowledge Base [ID 911067.1] for instructions on creating the database objects once you get a DB server platform installed.

  • Error while opening Primavera p6 v7.0 project management

    Hi All,
    Recently i have posted the same query and got some answers from you all. I tried doing the same and succeeded.
    But now I am facing the same problem again.
    I have installed Primavera p6 v7 on my windows xp service pack 3. Installation was successful and it worked fine. Later I have installed oracle sqlPLUS, form builder and Report builder on the same machine. 11g created a database. version 10.1.0.4.0
    Then also it worked fine. But now when i start primavera it is asking for configuring a new database connection.
    It is behaving odd. I am unable to resolve the issue. Please assist me in solving this.
    Thanks in advance

    When you try to reconfigure that database connection what error do you receive?
    Take a look at your TNSNAMES.ora file and make sure the one being utilized contains the connection info for your P6 database.

  • You do not have a license to run Primavera P6 (r8.4)

    I am having a problem after a fresh install of Primavera P6 r8.4
    I am completely new to Primavera  and I'm doing this as learning exercise (and failing!)
    I'm using:
    Database: Oracle Enterprse Edition 11g (11.2.0.4)
    OS: Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.8
    Weblogic: 12.1.3.0
    JDK: jdk1.8.0_40
    The installation seemed to work altough I tried to install P6 and P6 Team Memeber at the same time
    and got an error for the Team Member part which I figured I'd sort out later.
    From the Weblogic server console:
      p6 has a State of Active and Health of OK
      p6tm has a State of New
    When I try to login to p6  (http://server:8203/p6) as admin I get the error:
    "You do not have a license to run Primavera P6. Please contact your System Administrator."
    I have check the permissions on the license directory and the key file:

    I've tried to find logs to help with debugging this but can only find:
    /u01/app/oracle/P6EPPM_1/p6/WebAccessLogs/P6WebAccess.html
    It shows:

    Hi Pablo
    Thanks for your reply.
    I stopped the NodeManager, uninstalled jdk1.8.0_40 and installed 1.7.0_79 in its place.
    I updated:
      JAVA_HOME environment variable
      $MW_HOME/user_projects/domains/primavera_domain/config/config.xml   <java-home>  /usr/java/jdk1.7.0_79 in all places
      $MW_HOME/user_projects/domains/primavera_domain/bin/setDomainEnv.sh  JAVA_HOME=/usr/java/jdk1.7.0_79 plus DEFAULT_SUN_JAVA_HOME and SUN_JAVA_HOME
    rebooted the server but was unable to start P6.  So I uninstalled and reinstalled P6.   I got the same error, then realised I'd need to re-install Weblogic too since I'd uninstalled the JDK it was built on!
    Weblogic is now built on jdk1.7.0_79
    P6  is now built on jdk1.7.0_79
    Weblogic starts okay.  Under Deployments it shows P6 but I am unable to start it.  I'll see if I can find the logs and post their detail and/or the fix.
    Rgds

    Hi,
    From the error it looks like it has a problem installing the Windows update labelled Windows6.0-KB958655-v2-x86.MSU
    The install looks like the file is located inside a temp folder so my first question is whether or not you extracted/unzipped the install files first or if you just went straight into the zip file/folder and ran setup.exe
    If you did not unzip, please unzip and try again.
    If you did unzip it then I would recommend just downloading that file from Microsoft directly and attempting the install.
    If that works then go back to the P6 install.
    If that fails then you might need to look into some Microsoft forums/support as to why that patch will not install.
    Regards
    Alex

  • Primavera EPPM 8.2 and Oracle BPM 11.1.1.6

    Hello Forum,
    I'm a specialist in Oracle BPM and was instructed with a task to integrate EPPM 8.2 with Oracle BPM solution. So I am new to all this Primavera stuff but glad to learn it.
    According to EPPM 8.2 it can only be integrated with Oracle BPM 11.1.1.5 release (what I did). Could you tell me if it is certified to integrate with the latest release of Oracle BPM and WebCenter Content which is currently 11.1.1.6 ?

    It is certified to work only with BPM 11.1.1.5 and not the latest version :(. You can track http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E25030_01/index.htm to see if the support has been added.
