Print items in bleed margin?

I've a two-color spot document, I've put a tick marks (with a color of registration) up in the bleed margin (one-quarter inch) but they don't show up in the PDF. The only way they show up is if I deselect all marks and bleeds in the print process in ID. Is there a way to get them to show with registration and bleed marks selected?
Oh, I tried to make a slug the same size as the bleed & selected "include slug area" without success.
Any ideas?

Your crop marks are outside the bleed margins,
Why don't you just use Marks and Bleeds and assign crop marks to the PDF that way?
They're in the PDF export options, under Marks and Bleeds
If your bleed is 3mm then offset the crops to 4mm.
Just don't put the crops inside the bleed area.
Or if you insist on using your handdrawn bleed marks, increase the bleed settings on exporting the PDF to encompaas the extra .25 inches,

The printer driver is the software that drives the printer.
You can File>Print Setup, then select the printer (driver) by its name in the dropdown list. Note that there may be different drivers for one and the same printer (such as PostScript and non PostScript, borderless and non borderless).
Choosing a borderless printer (driver) the printable area should be identical to the Artboard (with no dotted line inside to show the boundary between printable area and paper edge).

Since I installed a new printer I can no longer print items from the internet.

See above question. Bought my printer at Best Buy. They said it could be a browser problem. I have Firefox. My Firefox is up to date. No problem printing documents, just cant print items from the internet.

Have you tried to see of the firmware on your printer needs to be updated? If apple happened to change the protocols for air print (I don't know if they did but anything is possible) then your printer's firmware will also need to be updated.
You can also see if a simple reboot helps. Turn your printer off then on, power cycle your router - unplug it, count to ten, plug it back in, and reboot your iPad (hold down the sleep and home keys until you see the silver apple, then let go and let it reboot)
sometimes just letting the electronics get a fresh start can help a ton.

You didn't mention any color calibration being done on your monitor. This is an essential part of any color-correct workflow. What are you using to calibrate your monitor (and your printer)?
Print profiles (for soft-proofing as well as printing) are for specific combinations of paper & printer. The nine you have are each, most likely, for a common paper (perhaps mfr'd by Canon) to be used with your printer.
I don't know what you mean when you say "I choose a high standard print option".

Help! Changing bleed/margins on even & odd pages in same file?

I'm laying out a children's book and the printer requires the interior files to be submitted in single page layout(no spreads). The binding side margin and bleed is different than the top, bottom, and outside edges - basically the pages mirror each other. How do I set up the document so the even pages have one setting and the odd pages have the mirror settings ( without laying it out as facing pages in spreads)??

Unless this book is being wirobound there's no need to have bleed on the inside edge.

All the images inside this would be single pages, so it would need to bleed all the way around on all edges.

Then you do not need to bleed on the inside pages.
Usually anything that crosses the spine will be printed on both pages.
If you your intentions are to have the image go right into the spine area then butt it right up against the spine DO NOT CROSS THE SPINE or else it will appear on the facing page.

Duplicate artboard with items in bleed area Illustrator CS5

I have an Illustrator CS5 file for business cards imposed 6 up, with double trims marks in bleed area only (not on artboard).
When artboard is duplicated, anything in the bleed area only doesn't duplicate too. InDesign can do it. Is there a way in Illustrator?

I think I need to clarify what I'm after.
I have extra crop marks (not bleed marks) because the cards are imposed 6 up.
So I need the extra crop marks plus the automatic corner crop marks.
These are placed on the bleed area only, so they will be cut off when printing is finished.
When the artboard is duplicated, anything on the bleed area only (ie the extra crop marks) are not duplicated too.
InDesign duplicates pages and bleed items no problem. Even Freehand can do it.

Borderless Printing US Letter: Doc Margin Question

Hi everyone,
I have a quick question about printing using HP Photosmart 5510 which offers borderless printing. I have inDesign CS 5 and using Mac OS X Lion.
I'm trying to print a fllyer. After I select my document type to US Letter in inDesign, i placed my jpg flyer (8.5x11) in the document and it fit snug. However, when I selected borderless US letter print, the flyer came out different than what was in inDesign. It seems like inDesign automatically "cropped" the flyer...
Here is what i mean (1st pic is inDesign, 2nd pic is the actual printed flyer). You can see how it's "cropped." The word Naruko should be a few milimeters away from the border, yet when it's printed, it actually got cut off. What's causing this?

I don't have any experience with printers that offer borderless printing, but the thing they have to get around is the gripper margin. In offset printing, the gripper pulls the paper through the press, so you can't have image that goes all the way to the edge of the page on the lead edge. That's why people who need borderless printing on press will use a larger page with crops, and bleed the image into the crop area, so that the cutter can cut through bleed, and if the trim is off by a bit, it will still look like it was printed to the edge.
I know that office printers also have the gripper margin limitation, so I'm not exactly sure how borderless printing is accomplished. Maybe the lead edge is pushed through and grabbed after it's imaged, but that's just a guess. From what I can see in your second image, it looks like the image was placed further down the page than you had intended, which is another limitation to office printers—the fact that there is some amount of drift between where the image is supposed to print and where it actually does. If you pick something on the page and measure from the top edge to it, does it measure the same as it does in InDesign? If it's also a bit lower, then I think you are dealing with the image drifting a bit. If the top is where it should be, I'd double-check that the paper size and the document size aren't off by a bit.

How to print item texts in po contract form when the fixed item status is N

I need to print the item texts when the status is 'N' and at the same time the status is blank in the same form.
I tried using t165p.I'm unable to print the both the message status with N and blank at the same time.

so there is no need of creating hidden item for those item (i.e) &P1_DIS_COURSE_NAME. AND &P1_DIS_DATE.

Duplex Printing in MS Powerpoint - Margins Aren't Aligned

I solved my own problem, but now can't figure out how to delete this post. So, please ignore.
I have the HP Photosmart Premium, running Win XP.
I created a document in MS Powerpoint 2010 that is two sided, with four copies per page. (There are four rectangles per page, both front and back)
On screen, all is aligned and looks perfect. When I print, using the "use two sided printing" feature, the document isn't aligned from front to back. The front has proper margins but the back is off by about 1/4" too far to the left. I can't figure out how to align this and believe it's something to do with the printer since it looks exactly right in Powerpoint.
Any tips you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

SAP Script: Include text in MAIN window prints outside MAIN window margins

We're facing a peculiar issue. We call a text element in the MAIN window of an SAP Script form using FM WRITE_FORM.
The element has 2 includes.
The problem is that when the content of any of the 2 includes is large enough, the include text prints overflows outside the MAIN window margins on the first page and into the area of the footer window of the same page. It does not automatically flow to the next page MAIN window.
We have checked that the MAIN window and FOOTER window margins do not overlap. Infact they are quite far from each other.
We have tried stuff like using a forced PROTECT, change the para format etc, but nothing solves the problem.
Does anyone have any idea?

You do not need to use the subroutine READ_ORDER_TEXT to get another text name because you already have it: TMP_TXNAM2 .
Pass this value back to your SAPscript, and it is okay.
Or you can even check the text object is empty or not, if no text is found, print 2 empty lines:
still use your subroutine to read the text, if no line is found, set TMP_TXNAM2 to empty, otherwise, no change,
In SAPscript, check the value is empty or not, then print 2 empty line or the text object...

Acrobat X - Print to Edge without Margin

Using Acrobat X Standard and Microsoft PowerPoint, I'm trying to print a pdf where there isn't any margin (also for Word docs). I've tried "Scale to Fit Paper" but that leaves a slight margin on the top and bottom. I'm basically trying to print so that it looks exactly like the pdf I've created so that when someone opens on their screen, it will not show any margins, just the content and background i've created.

Thank you Erica, but doesn't entirely solve my problem. If I have a 50 page document I have to crop top and bottom, so 100 crops, not cool especially when i am frequently updating the document.
I had printed to the edges in a previous version, so not sure why i can't do now.
To futher clarify, I have a powerpoint document i want to print to pdf. when i print normally, there are significant white spaces between the edge and the content. If I print "fit to page", i still have a slight margin.

Iam creating a PO...for each line item i have to print the text..
suppose if there are five text for each line item Eg :
SAP1 = a, SAP2 = b, SAP3 = d, SAP4 = e.
SAP1 to 4 are text,
a to e is the value that i have to print.
The probelm is user may or may not enter any value in this field.
my requirement is only if the user givs text in this fields it shoild print. and all text shud print on the same line

Assuming the variables are called &SAP1& &SAP2& &SAP3& &SAP4&
Put the text inside the && in single quotes before the variable name as below:
AS &'SAP1 = 'SAP1& &'SAP2 = 'SAP2& &'SAP3 = 'SAP3& &'SAP 4 = 'SAP4&
The text only prints if the variable is not initial.

Printing items in a folder problem - help

Ok, I've created a workflow that basically goes like this:
Get specified items
Get folder contents
Filter contents for text files
Print text files
Move text files to somewhere else
I then save it as a folder action plug in and assign it to a specific folder so that the script runs when I insert a file into the folder. When I do, the script runs ok, goes through all the steps, opens up Printer Setup Utility and the Print dialog but nothing comes out the printer.
If I look at the completed items list on the printer, it shows like the file was completed but the printer never actually printed anything.
Is this a problem with the printer driver or with Automator? Anyone have an idea what might be happening? If I substitute "Print File" for any other command like "Open File" it works great. It seems the problem is somewhere in the printer. If I open the file and Print it, everything works.
Is there anyway I can get the script to not open the Printer Setup Utility and the Print Dialog box?

Iam not able to set the main folder's (i.e INPRISE) acl (MyAcl) on the subfolder "MyFolder" because the owner of MyAcl is "system" whereas the owner of MyFolder is user "i1" .Which is the best way of solving these ownership issue which iam running into ? I want to be able to create different folders ,assign a group of uers to each of the folders who can create as well as modify,delete each other's folders/documents (as i have mentioned in my first post in this thread) ?

Print Condition of a margin object

hi,,
i want to set the 'Print object on' to Last Page' of oa margin object.
Actually i want to duplicate a report field for (F_1_Emp_name), on margin just besides page number field
and that duplicate field (F_1_Emp_name1),should be only on the last page.
For this, i have created a formula 'CF_1_Name1' outside all the queries groups.
i added a feild 'F_1_Emp_name1' on my report layout inside margin and set its Print object proprty to 'Last Page'.
but it gives error - 'F_1_Emp_name1 has an Illegal print condition'

I don't know if there is an easier solution than this one, but I don't think so. The problem is that the total number of pages is know after formatting. There is a Total pages as a source for a field, but this can't be used in a program unit.
