Print report in Thai and English Characters

Hi ,
I able to enter Thai characters from front end but at backend(database) it looks like this '¿¿¿' .someone has any idea why is it so?
Also, I am using some logic to print amount in words in oracle report builder 6i.Our client requirement is to print these amount in words in Thai Characters..Please share your thoughts!
Thanks,
Neha

Don't worry about backend.  Change your report builder field as specified font.  Report builder automatically converts these special charactors into to actual font you specified.  Then you can take output from your report builder.

  • Highlight File Format and PDF Documents with Chinese and English characters

I'm a developer working on an application that makes use of the Highlight File Format / external highlight server capabilities of Adobe Reader.
The highlighting worked correctly until we started to introduce pdf documents that were scanned to recognize Chinese in addition to English.
The xml file seems to have the correct values in it. For example, if the 10 characters to highlight are at position 41 on the first page. The "xml" file has the <loc pg=0 pos=41 len=10>.
If the document is scanned for English only, it works fine. That is, the highlight starts at character 41. If the same document is scanned for Chinese and English, the highlight starts at character 22.
Has anyone had a similar experience? Do you know a solution?

    Hi,
I don't know about BIP and the specifics of your context, but here are some general answers for the XLIFF format:
    <?xml version = '1.0' encoding = 'utf-8'?>
Can we change encoding to 'ISO-8859-1' as soon as we convert the file format ?If you also save the file to ISO-8859-1 as well yes. But you can do this only for languages supported by Latin-1. It makes sense to keep the files in UTF-8.
A-2) he section <header><skl><internal-file> contains a huge string
which seeem to be binary ... What is this ? can we delete it ?That's likely to be the skeleton file. The data used to rebuild the original format after translation.
Most likely it should stay there.
A-3) Can we have one XLF file with muliple <file> sections (one per language to translate to ) ?
This can be very useful for us to manage one only translation file per report template.Yes but no: yves you can have several <file> elements in an XLIFF document, but no: they must be for the same language pair. XLIFF is designed to work with bi-lingual files, not multi-lingual files.
A-4) the most important section for translation is included in the <trans-unit> tag .
Each one has a distinct id like ""49e41f8f" ... Can we replace this by a more meaningfull value ?Those id attributes are used by the filter to merge back the data after translation. You should preserve them.
A-5) the language format is like "en-US" (language code + territory code).
Is it case sensitive ? No it is not case-sensitive (en-us == en-US). The values of xml:lang are not case sensitive (unlike other XML attribute values).
en-US is just the recommended notation.
    The XLIFF specification are here:
    http://docs.oasis-open.org/xliff/xliff-core/xliff-core.html
    Hope this helps,

  • Can I put Chinese and English characters in the same dynamic text box?

I'm translating a game into several different languages, one of which is Chinese. I've noticed that in a dynamic text box where English characters are included also, they aren't displayed when the .swf is exported. The font is embedded in the document with all characters selected. It seems like whatever language-character is first displayed in the text box, the other language cannot be. For instance, if there are Chinese characters first, then English, the English will not display, and vice-versa. Any work around on this? I am using Flash CS5 and Actionscript 2.0. Thanks!

Kglad - I'm not sure I follow your instructions for the fix. I assume you want me to set the _visible property to false via Actionscript ( textInvisible._visible = false; ). What is the purpose of this second text field - does it need any specific content in it to function? It doesn't seem to work to fix the problem but maybe I'm misunderstanding.

  • How to print report in Draft and Document

    Dear all,
I have a proplem when preview crystal report in Document .
I make a form using Crystal report for Incoming payment, then i import to it.
    For example
When i create a document in Incoming Payment and save it. There is no problem with the crystal report.
But if i save the data as a draft. then i preview it , the report that i make in crystal report become blank.
After i check, the table is different when i save as a draft.
My question is How to make a dynamic crystal report so i can preview the report as a draft and preview it when the data have saved in original table ?
    Thanks in advance

    Jia Shun,
I had the same issue for printing A/R Invoices - I created a Crystal Report based on a SQL View, works fine with A/R Invoice document, but the Draft Invoice printing has 3 pages: 1st page blank, 2nd page with watermark "DRAFT", 3rd page my Crystal Report layout without any data. When printing normally it is only 1 page.
Here is what I did as a work around:
Create two SQL Views, one select from OINV (joining INV1 and other tables needed), the other select from ODRF (joining DRF1 and other tables needed), for the draft printing.
Create two identicle Crystal Reports, only difference are: datasource location (from different views), the "draft" crystal report has a watermark section.
Go to Administration>System Initialization>Print Preferences and uncheck "Print draft watermark..."
Import both crystal reports. Invoice can be printed normally. But the Draft Invoice has more steps: Open Draft document report, change settings so it shows the DocEntry in the Draft Table. Select and open the desired document, hit Print Preview, and enter the DocEntry, it displays the layout with data and "DRAFT" watermark.
This is a workaround. I don't like it because it is not scalable - too much workload if you want to print 100 invoices.
Hopefully someone will provide a better solution.
    regards,
    G

  • Drilldown and printing reports in PDF and HTMLCSS

I have created several reports and linked them together using
hyperlinks giving drilldown capability. The reports are being
generated via the Reports Server on a remote machine.
I have initially tried to do this using PDF due to its far
better print capabilities but there appears to be a problem
using drilldown with PDF. You cannot use the back key in the
browser having gone from REP1.PDF to REP2.PDF, all you get is a
little box in the top left corner of the browser.
So, I have also tried using HTMLCSS and pagestreaming (due to
the size of the reports and the slowness of creating the reports
in HTMLCSS) but now I cannot print out the entire report but
have to do it one page at a time.
As a work around solution I have created a before report trigger
which submits to the reports server a PDF version and added a
button on the pagestream section to print it out. What I don't
like about this is that I need to hardcode the name of the
reports server into the report itself as I use the RUN_REPORT
command. The problem being that I use a different reports server
for the test environment to the production environment and have
no wish to change all the reports just before they go into
    production.
I would be interested to know if other people have come across
the same or similar problem and how they overcame it.
    Thanks in advance
    Ralph.

  • Printer not supporting Polish and Danish Characters

    Hi,
We have a printer with model Intermec PM4i used for label printing.
We have a suitable customized device type for this printer.
This device type works fine with other printers.
The problem with the printer is that it does not support Polish (Poland language) and Danish (Denmark language) characters.
I thought there was some problem with the device type and hence we changed the device type to standard one i.e. LB_INT
    But this did not help.
Can anyone please help me resolve this issue?

Does your custom device type have a code page that includes the danish and polish special characters?
Does the font you're using (SAPScript/SmartForm) support those characters?
You might want to try the Forms Printing forum, this may be too specialized for this forum.

  • Problem in print out with English characters (THANGSAN font)

    Save Our Environment. Save Yourself.
    Hi Experts!!
I have created a smartform and print program which should actually print some Thai characters and English characters too. I created a smartstyle and have some 10 paragraph formats and are all have THANGSAN font. So, I am printing all the thai and english characters in THANGSAN font only.
When print preview is seen, the output is very fine, but when being printed, the thai characters are appearing fine but the english characters' font is being changed to somehting else (courier or arial). Why is this happening so? Because of this, all the output is being merged and looking very weird.
The smartform is created in EN and is translated to all languages. All user has logged on to SAP in EN language.
Can somebody please help me out with whether the problem is with THANGSAN or the printer?
P.S. The smartform is actually similar to the standard script Z_RVINVOICE01 in which only THANGSAN is used.

  • Crystal Report XI Print report on different paper size (A4/Letter)

    Hi,
I have designed report in Crystal XI using paper sieze Letter. Multipler sites are using this application. User in USA are using Letter size paper and User in Euorpe are using A4 size paper. All reports work fine for USA users.
When Eurpoe users print the report on A4 size paper which set in Letter size, the report is truncated from Header or footer. They are printing report from Application and application is set on Citix server.
If Anybody have any idea how to setup Crystal report so it can print on any paper size?
    Thanks
    Bhagvat

    Hi Don,
    Please find the below description.
Background: Crystal Report XI is utilized to develop and view reports with data source from Oracle based LIMS application (Vendor: LabWare). The reports are printed using network printer on US Letter paper for users located in North America and on A4 paper for users located in Europe. The report format is US Letter and designed to print on both paper formats i.e. Letter and A4.
Issue: When reports are printed by users in Europe using A4 format paper the printer defaults to US Letter paper (in printer preferences) resulting to data cut off from top and bottom on the printout.
    1)      When report layout is select to A4 during developing reports using CR, the printing preferences changes to A4 when printed and vice versa for Letter format. How can we avoid CR to enforce from changing printing preferences?
    2)     According to Citrix engineers in the company, the printer drivers installed on Citrix servers have nothing to do with printing preferences and CR defaults to paper size based on report design. What do we tell them about doing different to resolve this issue?
    3)    Even though a printer preference of default printer on local desktop is changed to A4, the report gets printed to Letter format result in data cutoff.  We have tried this option with several HP printers from few different company locations.
    Thanks

  • Print report from CXR0

    Dear Experts,
I would like to print directly from SAP through tcode CXR0 : system- list - print is grey.
I have checked if authorization is missing from nsu53 but my authorization already successful.
Please advice me how to print report from CXR0 and what is the authorization object?

    Hi,
your problem is not related to authorizations. The section System -> List works only if you have a list displayed on your screen.

  • UTF-8 and Chineese Characters

I have a JSP with the following line at the very top:
    <%@ page contentType="text/html; charset=utf-8"%>
This is so that it will use UTF-8 encoding to display non-english characters. Doing this, allows me to display Arabic, Hebrew, and English characters that are encoded in UTF-8 format (i.e. \u0643). However, I still can not display Chineese characters. For example, I have the String \u4E2D being read from a file and outputed on to the JSP (no different than my other non-English characters) and it does not display properly (I only see a box in its place). Can anyone tell me why this is?
I do not have the proper Chineese character set downloaded, however I don't understand how the Hebrew and Arabic display properly, when I never explicitly downloaded any sort of character set for them.
    Thanks in advance.

    ;-D
    I'm only human!
I certainly agree that UTF-8 should work. Just thought that trying a couple of other encodings might work faster than trying to figure out why UTF-8 wasn't doing the job!
As for where the character set is stored... both IE6 and the JDK will have knowledge of the character set. However, this doesn't automatically mean that they are able to display it. Both require the right font to be able to do this, and neither English Windows IE6 or the JDK carry a font as standard that is able to display the Chinese character set. By installing the Chinese language pack, the font has now been provided, which is why everything's working happily.
As for being able to prompt the user in downloading this, I'm not entirely sure whether this is possible these days. This certainly happened in Windows 9x/NT4, where IE prompted you to download the pack, but this proved to be such an unpopular method that M$ took the prompt out, and now expect you to install it off disc as of Win2K.
    Hope that helps!

    Hi,
Server and envid are the parameters passed along with Reports URL call.
These variables value can be traped in Report by defining SERVER , ENVID named user parameters.
Once trapped, can be printed on Report.
Just ensure that these users parameters are not exposed to Parameter page, otherwise user may end up changing it.

  • Adobe captivate 7 mixed hebrew and english text displayed wrong

    hello all,
when I create captions with mixed Hebrew and English characters or numbers, the caption is displayed all mixed up.
Is there a fix for this issue ?
If not, is there a simple workaround?
    thanks,
    Hanoch

    Hi
I hope you have upgraded to the latest captivate version 8.0.1.242. If not please follow the steps mentioned on this post Adobe Captivate Help | Adobe Captivate 8 patch. Make sure to remove layouts and preferences as mentioned in the link.
There is an issue with text in case of multi-hierarchal bullets but apart from that other things should work fine. You might just have to change some position parameters to fix the results. Can you please share the project, so that I can reproduce the issues at my end. My email address is [email protected] . You can send it via email or drop box.
Captivate responsive output works for multiple browsers. Please check the link Tech Specs - eLearning, mobile learning & Training Software | Adobe Captivate 8 for details.
