Printer sees wifi, Laptop sees wifi, but laptop doesn't see printer

I'm trying to connect my new LaserJet 100 color MFP M175nw all in one to my laptop. I've already set it up via USB on my desktop and that went off without a hitch. I got the printer on the wifi (I can print out a Network Summary and Config Report that list the printer's IP and specifically say it's connected to my network) but now I'm running into problems getting my laptop to "see" the printer. Each time I try to run the install, I get the "Can't Find Product(s)" message. I've got my firewall off and I've tried using the troubleshooting methods on the HP site but nothing seems to work.
I've tried manually adding a printer through Windows, but it's not able to find the printer by IP address or hostname.
Please help before I beat the nice new printer with a bat "Office Space"-style.

It looks like we fixed it. This is what we did:
1) Installed the HP software via USB on the desktop
2)Confirmed that the printer was on the network by pressing the WPS button on the router and pressing holding the WiFi button on the printer for 2 seconds, then seeing a connection successfull message on the printer
3) Still on the desktop, added it as a wireless printer through Windows (Start > Devices and Printers)
4) Shared the printer with all users on the network
5) Switched to the laptop and used WIndows to add a printer. Once we shared the printer from the desktop, the laptop was able to see it.
I am going to go back and try connecting the laptop to the printer via USB to finish installing the scanning software etc. But I was able to print a doc wirelessly so I'm satisfied.

    We use CS6, yes we calibrate using x-rite. I have always had adobe manage colors when printing. This problem just occurred, all my settings are the same as they have been for years. The only thing we did lately is do an update to CS6. We thought it might be our printer but when we use the printer manages color it works fine, The problem with adobe manages color is it is not blending the light highlights like on top of the cheeks with the colors around the cheeks  and its putting a faint red between the two it just does not have a smooth transition. I printed a photo that I had printed 4 months ago with no issue, and this time it had the issue that I am dealing with now. Somehow the photo shop manages color is not getting the right info to my printer.

    Thanks John for the suggestion.  I was finally able to dwonload the newest drivers today when I signed on.  Seems like if you let one day go by Software Update will look at your version of the driver and will finally let you download the newest.  That did not help.  Nothing but communication errors.  It would not even let me load the the new driver as it would no longer ever see the printer.
    Yesterday, for further explanation, I was working at the computer when I heard the printer chime a few times.  When I looked over the green light, which normally signals it is receiving a file to print, was flashing away.  I was doing nothing and I finally had to turn it off.  I spoke with another techie friend who is a big Mac user and has the same printer and he suggested it may be the USB circuit.  This printer has been on for 5 years with a few days off.  We have concluded the circuits are past their useful life and I will soon send the printer to be recycled somewhere.  A new printer is on the way as I need this device.
    Again, thank you for your suggestion and I will mark this solved due to mechanical failure.

  • I am trying to print out information on a Google Maps page. I have the print setting on fit to width but the page does not print that way and some of the page that would normally show on page 2 is missing.

    The page prints out fine on Internet Explorer, but not on Firefox. 2 pages are supposed to print out but only 1 prints. Also it does not fit to width even though that's the setting.

    That file could be set as a Launch Agent or Daemon in your ~/Library or /Library, You could try to look for it or Safeboot your computer and then empty the trash.     Windows 7 Utlimate, 32-bit.. Acrobat Pro 9.5.5. An HP Officjet and a Brother laser printer, both networked.
    Whenever I try to print from Acrobat, instead of going to my chosen printer I get a Save dialog box for a .prn file. Thus, I can no longer print from Acrobat.
    This started a couple of weeks ago. I have made no changes to my system, printers, or Acrobat, unless there were some automatic updates in background.
    All my other software (Excel, WordPerfect, Firefox, etc.) continue to print normally.

    Somehow, the "Print to file" box became checked as a default. I never even noticed, as I don't think I ever used that choice in many years of using Acrobat Pro.

    The the remaining items of the following, you may have to let the battery fully drain.
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

    Which operating system are you running on?
    Which version of Photoshop Elements are you using?
    What error message are you seeing when you try to import them - file not supported or already in catalog?
    What type of file - raw? If raw, which camera produced them (Make & model)?
    To see if the file is already in the catalog, go to the Find menu and select By Filename. Enter part of a file name that you are trying to import and see if it can find it.
    Go to the View menu, select Media Types and ensure they are all checked.
    Are you seeing the photos in other folders ok?

  • Logged into chat, but user doesn't see the room or participants

    I am trying to help a user with iChat. He is in France and I am in US. He has a mac.com address.
    The problem is he can sign into a chat room and I can see him in that room, but he can not see the chat room window nor the participants. He will get IMs from people that are apparently in the room, but he has no idea where they are coming from.
    I can find how to hide the participant side window but unable to find any way to show/hide the chat window. iChat has not been hidden as his buddy window does show up.
    There are differences in terminology on the menu bar and drop downs between French and English so even with screen sharing, it is not easy. Menu items are under different headers.
    I have seen this before with some users, but usually a quit and reloading iChat will clear it up. There are a lot of cases of people thinking they exited a room, but their SN is still there until they quit iChat.
    If I get information, I said I would let him know a solution.

    I can recreate this.
    On my G4, which used to be my prime iChat computer, I have several Rooms listed in Go to Room in the File Menu
    One of these had been added to Auto Join list but not ticked.
    I did this (ticked) but no window showed.
    On the MacBook Pro I used another account/Screen Name to log in to the same room
    After finding from Snow Leopard I had an illegal character, I corrected it on both computers.
    The G4 still did not show the Room Chat window.
    However the MacBook Pro showed My G4 Screen Name as being there.
    I did find that if I went to iChat File Menu > Go to Room and Deselect the Auto Join and Quit iChat my G4 would not sign back into the room when that screen Name was logged in to AIM again at iChat Launch.
    I hope this is the same for your Buddy.

    The G4 makes the sound as to getting a new message but the window still does not appear and the G4 therefore cannot reply. Nor can I leave the Room.
