Printer tearing

I use HP CP1525nw Color Laser jet printer purchased about 2 years ago.
I have been having trouble with certain documents that are .pdf's which are perfect on the screen, but when printed, come of the image, particularly around embeddded pictures is "torn" on the paper print.
Most docs are OK, and not all the .pdf's of the series I am printing have issues.
All were I think created in Adobe Illustrator, probably on a MAC!
--Seems to be getting worse over time
--Rebooted COmputer and Printer several times
-- have printed successfully at OfficeWorks

Ji,
Would it be possible to show a picture of what you mean? I know that officeworks defaults to Letter size where other pdf viewers default to A4. Can you try selecting letter size when printing your pdf and see if this helps?
Also could you let me know what device you are printing from?
Although I am an HP employee, I am speaking for myself and not for HP

    - in System parameter the parameter MODE=CHARACTER and

When I print , the printer tear off the whole page A4

Thanks for telling us the printer model. You are right - it isn't in the software available for auto-download from Apple servers.
Are you using the version 3.66 CAPT driver released in Jun 2014?
    Get it from:

It is a disk image (.dmg) file. You must double-click to "mount" the disk image, then install using the installer inside that.
Please let us know if that helps. There are more thing to try.

If you installed the driver/software, from a CD, uninstall it, then download & install from here HP Deskjet F2280 All-in-One Printer, instead.

  • Hp officejet pro 8500 premier all-in-one printer

The above printer is 1 1/2 years old and it has stopped printing.  When the printing became light, I installed new print cartridges less than a week ago.  Now, after five days, the printer is consistently cleaning the print heads and aligning the print heads and my documents are not being printed.  And, what is most frustrating, during all the cleaning and aligning, all of my new ink is gone and I'm receiving a message replace ink cartridges.
Re: Problem with HP Officejet Pro 8500 printer: cleans printheads every time it's turned on

    Well,
to this is say, "get used to it", or throw it away.  Many, Many, Many people have had trouble with this printer.
The following are common and frustrating issues that this printer exhibits on a regular basis:
    1.  Constant Self-Checking (usually every 20-30 pages of print)
    2. Very persistant Printhead Cleaning/Checking, (Every startup and after about 20-30 pages printed).
    3. Worn-out printheads (usually within 1,100 to 1,500 pages printed).
    4. Paper mis-feeds.
    5. Paper jams.
    6. Nearly impossible to use once the printer reports ink-depletion.
    7. Nearly impossible to use CIS Ink for larger print jobs.
    8. Ink and printheads "expire" regardless of when they are placed into service. (get a deal on ink or printheads last year?  Too bad, the warranty is already expired, most likely).
In short, this printer is the most EXPENSIVE printer I've ever owned, and the most frustrating to use.
I have just over 2,000 pages of regular text printed matter with very little color, and have already gone through 4 sets of ink, and 2 sets of PrintHeads.
Although it's true that you can leave the unit on, and let it go into standby, you should NOT be punished with constant and time-consuming "self-checking" everytime it's turned on, or prints a handful of pages, BUT, it does NOT appear that HP will be standing behind this printer disaster.  AND, to make things worse, they've gone on to redesign it, giving it a different look, and so there are about 6 different models/versions of the OfficeJet Pro 8500.
Anyone needing a reliable print/fax/scan/copy solution should look beyond this printer, because it will leave you wanting more, and spending more than you ever imagined you would have to on a late model printer.ro
What is going on?  Why does it just automatically clean and align?  I also get alignment failed messages.  Any suggestiions?

    rammerjammer,
Thank you for bringing this to my attention, your feedback is very important and I want to do my best to help.  To answer what is going on, since the printing became light, started cleaning itself constantly, and fails the alignment, the printhead was damaged.  Click here to see and use the Limited Warranty for HP Ink Cartridges, Printheads, and Related Supplies.  There are many ways to contact HP.  The number to call is 1-800-474-6836 for HP and Compaq products for Home & Home Office use.  If you no longer have a warranty with the printer you can still use the warranty that comes with the printhead or ink cartridges.
If you have a carepack with the printer that extended the one year warranty then the troubleshooting will be covered along with the printer if the printer needs replacing.  Check product warranty here, see HP Out of Warranty Support Options for Select HP Consumer Printers here.
To order a new printhead you can go to HP Sure Supply and enter your printer or go to the HP Parts Store and order the printhead by part number C4900A for the Black and yellow and part number C4901A for the Cyan Magenta.  These printheads go by region also so be sure you are using the right region, these were found using the United States region.
The HP Officejet Pro 8500 Premier All-in-One printer has separated the ink cartridges from the printheads.  The ink cartridges are on the lower left and the removable print heads are on the carriage inside the printer.  The printer goes through a calibration process when turned on that will use ink.  Leave the printer on and let it go into stand by mode.  This type of printer is energy star efficient and made to calibrate on start up and be left on.  Allow the printer to clean or calibrate only if the printer must.  If it starts cleaning a lot it may be time to do a little maintenance to the printer (recommend once a month for maintenance).  Please see the following links for further details.

Printer Paper Tears, Wrinkles, or is Damaged while Printing from the All-in-One
Paper Path Issues in the Automatic Document Feeder

The printer has a duty cycle of 7.5k page/month.  The XL cartridges have a composite page yield of 1.4k pages with about a third of the black ink left over.  To me it would seem that the printhead should last somewhere in between.  This printer was designed to save money on ink compared to the rest of the officejets.  I hate that it has been causing so much trouble, hopefully the information I provided will help.

  • Deskjet 3050 Won't Print Wirelessly

    Hi there,
My new all in one 3050 won't print for me. It is "Offline" in the network page. I feel I have explored every avenue and it will still not print. The wireless network configuration page I printed says everything passed. The home network disagnostic tool says "software missing" after i click test connection. The print diagnostic tool fails on connectivity everytime. I can connect to the printer ip 192.168.1.3 in the browser 95% of the time but not always. My router is a Zyxel P-660HW-T1 v3. I'm really close to tears with frustration, I'm quite computer and networking savvy but I cannot fix this. please help, I'd be eternally grateful.
    Kind Regards,
    Larry.

  • Print ICAL from MAC?

The good news ICAL now shows up on my MAC ---year, after years!!
BAD news  won't print (Safari) BOOO

Safari is bad at printing - it is a complex webpage after all and Apple have not setup the print styling correctly for the page, you can continue to fight the issue or look at alternatives to achieve your aim.
Post a bug report to http://apple.com/feedback/ but then you have to wait & hope Apple fix it, who knows when or if that will ever happen.
Do you have these calendars setup in the Mac Calendars application? You must be 'subscribed' to these calendars in iCloud if they are from other users - simply subscribe to them in the Mac calendars application too.
    Calendar: Subscribe to calendars
Here is an example from the print preview in Calendars on 10.9 (I don't have many events next xmas)…
The PDF output is great and that would also print well. It has, list, week & day views too.
    Mister Jeff wrote:
So I printed it, BOOO HOOO.  The other option is to download some other file format, not sure if I want to do that since I don't want to risk messing up the other 4 calendars, excluding mine.
The answer to your 'tears' is out there already - Calendars app prints really well. Sorry if you don't want to hear it, but I don't like watching others 'cry' over issues that are easily solved via a little thinking around the problem.

  • WiFi printer which can work with one cartridge also at a time (black or color) in a colour printer

All-in-one (OfficeJet or Inkjet) WiFi printer which can work with one cartridge also at a time (black or color) in a colour printer.
Even if colour cartridge is over, w/o replacing I can still print with black cartridge.
    Which printer is suitable.

Since I upgraded to Firefox 19 from 18.0.2, on my Windows XP (SP3) laptop, I, too, can no longer open a new window. File-->New Window does nothing; also can no longer tear off a tab and open it in a new window (it stays where it is). Also, if I right-click on a tab and select Move to New Window, nothing happens. All of these worked fine in FF 18.0.2. All of these work fine with FF 19 on Windows 7. Only an issue on my XP laptop.
After trying to open a new window, and not seeing the new window come up (and yes, I waited a long time), I decided to close my current window, which had multiple tabs open. Instead of just closing, it pops up the message reminding me that I'm about to close all those tabs. If I say close, and then go into the Task Manager, the Firefox application has disappeared (as expected), but the firefox (and plug-in container) processes are still running. So I have to manually kill the Firefox process to get it to quit. it's as if it thinks there is another Window open (the one I tried to open but never appeared). This happens every single time! I've restarted my laptop, and that does not resolve the problem.
Is there a way to downgrade back to v 18.0.2 until this is fixed?

  • HP deskjet 3055A e-All-in-One printer/scanner Not scanning

Hello I have the all in one as listed.  It has worked for ages absolutely fine and the printer both wireless and network still works.  The scanner however does not the fact have done a Scan doctor on it.  Stops at Twain Scan problem.  Despite all the icons having been there from the past the message I get is "The HP Deskjet 305A J611 was not found". Tearing my hair out as uninstalled, loaded up drivers etc and still doesn't work.  Interestingly this only happened after I renewed my Norton susbscription and windows office also had issues.  Norton was uninstalled by their team and Windows office continued to malfunction regardless. This was sorted out by the Microsoft team successfully and Office and Norton are working fine again.  It seems too much of a coincidence but am guessing Twain is being blocked somehow by Norton.....Unfortunately am not much good at technology so any help appreciated

    Hi Russkiijim
I understand you are unable to scan. The Print and Scan Doctor shows a Twain error. Twain is the interface standard for Windows and Macintosh that allows imaging hardware devices (such as scanners and digital cameras) to communicate with image processing software.
Lets turn off all start up programs to make sure there isn't something blocking it. Click on start, in search box type in run, enter, then type in msconfig, click ok.
    Click the Services tab.
Click to select the Hide All Microsoft Services check box.
Click Disable All, and then click OK.
Then click on the start up tab at the top.
    Click on disable all.
    Reboot the computer.
    Turn off any antivirus software.
    Try scanning again.
Then go back into msconfig and enable the All Microsoft Services and enable all on the start up tab. Turn the Antivirus software back on again.
I would recommend to run Microsoft Fix It Tool to see if that will fix the twain error if the msconfig didn't work.
You will probably need to uninstall and install the printer again.
Let me know if that helps.

  • HP Laserjet P3010 won't print. It find the printer, send the data but eventually times out. It work fine on Monday, today not at all.

I work in a small office that shares an HP Laserjet networked printer with Macs & PCs. Within the last few days, the printer has sporadically refused to print files from my Mac Pro and my boss's iMac (both running 10.7.5). I've tried removing/reinstalling the printer from Print & Scan (no joy) and verifying permissions (still nothing). I went to HPs site and they claim the drivers are included with the latest OS update. I'm tearing my hair out with this problem. Help!

  • Paper jams when being faxed on my HP Officejet Pro 8600 Plus e-All-in-One Printer - N911g

When I go to send a fax, the paper goes in until about half way then the right side begins to wrinkle the paper and jams up.  I have tried several things to fix it but no luck.

Welcome to the forums HerkDia  ,
I have some suggestions for you to try for the problem you're having with your Officejet 8600 Plus jamming the paper when you fax.
    Check out these guides:
Printer Paper Tears, Wrinkles, or is Damaged while Printing from the All-in-One

Update the firmware: Getting the Latest Firmware and Product Updates
Ensure the printer is plugged in directly to the wall outlet, avoiding power bars and surge protectors. This ensures the printer is receiving full power and may help greatly.
If the steps do not help any, I would lastly recommend calling HP to inquire about a replacement or trade in.

  • Problems printing envelopes on an HP Officejet Pro 8500 Wireless

I have had this printer for over a year and have lived in frustration with the primitive and really disfunctional way it tries to print envelopes.  The left or right side placement of a flap up number 10 envelope gets misaligned as it is pulled through for printing and on many occasions jams and tears.  The center position is the only position that will work, but not flawlessly as the envelope also misaligns as it is pulled through.  It often takes two or three tries before i can get an evenly or straight printed envelope.  I am puzzled as to how HP would engineer a product for small business use that has such a dysfunctional envelope printing system. I am otherwise not displeased with the product for almost all other uses.  It has lots of other very good features that work.  But not envelope printing.
I thought I would try to inquire as to whether a download update of software might have tried to correct this problem.  Am I alone in this?
    This question was solved.
    View Solution.

Have you moved the paper guides to properly align the envelopes?  I do not see how envelopes can be loaded in any position but the center with the paper guides set snugly.  See page 42 (46) of the manual here.  Also, if you have the optional second paper tray note that envelopes are not supported in it, you need to use the top tray.

  • Cannot find HP printer after upgrade to Home Hub 3...

    Hello
an engineer installed a home hub 3/infinity this morning and left after about 10mins giving me a tiny getting-started booklet, a CD, and a couple of stickers to show my network keys etc. Whilst I can access the internet with my laptop, and iphone, I am tearing my hair out now (8hours later) in trying to print anything!
I am running on Macbook Air MacOS 10.7. My printer is HP deskjet F4580.
My mac cannot see the printer, in System Preferences.
The blue wireless light flashes continuously on the printer.
I have been all over various forums and I just don't have a clue what most of them are talking about.
I have printed out a wireless network test report from the printer and it seems to show the old network name (for my old home hub 2) but if this is the problem I have no idea how to change it. I can't even find the driver menu's any more. And, now i just discovered on an HP thread that there might be an inherent "firmware"(?) issue regarding BT Home Hub 3 and HP printers.
I would appreciate any insights and would be grateful for any step-by-step help, thank you. (so wanting my old home hub 2 back!)

Have a look at this link. It takes you through the set up
    http://www.hp.com/global/us/en/wireless/reconfiguring-system-help3.html
Another option would be to change the new Homehub to have the same name and passkey as your old HH2 then the printer should find it. It would mean logging all your other devices back on once you had done this. See this link how to do that.

  • My G4 can't read the printer driver disc of my BRAND NEW HP All-in-One

I am tearing my hair out on this one. I had an older HP AIO that died on me yesterday, so I ran out and bought a spanking new version, the C4280. I don't recall having any problem setting up the older printer (a psc 1315) and I can't remember whether I installed the driver from the disc or the website. Anyway, I got to Step 11, connected the USB cord as instructed, put in the disc, and my little mushroom whirred in a whisper for about 30 seconds, then spat out the disc. I tried again, unplugged, rebooted, yadda yadda, every config. I could think of, and I still got the whhrrrrwhirrrr, SPIT. I called HP and the 4280 is so new they don't have the drivers up on the website yet, so the very nice Canadian techie verfied that yes, there was only one CD for both Windows AND Mac, and yes, my G4 could read other CDs (my LaCie)--but strangely enough NOT the printer driver for the original psc 1315, which got the same whirrrr-SPIT treatment. So either I originally got the driver off the website, or my G4 has lost some critical cells since then. Now I have occasionally had trouble reading commercial DVDs--I get told they're a blank disc. But I never even made it to that stage with this printer driver disc.
The upshot is they are FedExing me a new printer driver disc tomorrow, this one apparently made especially for MACs. But I'm nervous because of what happened when I tried to put the old psc 1315 driver disc in.
    Any thoughts?

  • Trouble printing to Canon ip4200 over Airport Express from Windows XP

I've just spent the last 4 hours trying to get my Dell laptop running XP to print to my Canon ip4200 USB printer connected to my Airport Express. My PowerBook (10.3.4) connected without issue and has been working fine. The XP laptop just refused to print, and the "troubleshooter" was useless. It would print fine over a direct USB connection, but, despite following the directions for connecting an Airport Printer in XP to the letter, it failed to print every time.
